A very grateful Veteran's Day to all of our vets today!

If you saw my thread that I posted yesterday asking for animal pictures, you already know that I had a stressful day. Nothing super out of the ordinary happened, just tiny things one after another. Ray had two more accidents which make me concerned that there is something going on somewhere in her digestive system. I have an appt for her next Wednesday.

Caitlyn had her appt with the allergist and hoo boy, this is gonna be fun! She is highly allergic to dusty mites. *Highly* Like off the charts. I was able to do some research and I ordered mattress/box spring/pillow encasements from Amazon. I got three different brands so if she doesn't like the way one feels, we can try another. She is going to have to put away many of her stuffed animals which are like her best friends LOL And the kicker (poor girl is already apologizing to us for this), we have to rip up her bedroom carpet and put down some sort of flooring since there is only plywood under the carpet.
The cheery on top of the dust mite info is that they do *not* cause the hives and the Dr still has no answer on that. She thinks it could be likely that the severity of the dust mite allergy is making her immune system fight on that side and is leaving her drained of resources to combat whatever is causing the hives. They are in the process of seeing if allergy shots will be covered by her health insurance plan. She will need them every 3-4 weeks so it isn't something that can be paid out of pocket if it isn't covered. :(

The sun was out and while it was windy I ended up spending some time raking the leaves off of the driveway. Today is rainy so maybe I can finish the LO I started yesterday and had to stop so I could research dust mites. Why do they have to include photos of the buggers on every website??? Blech!!

I have to go make sure Cait is awake and then I have to get ready to go get my groceries in a bit. If I run out of time to do personals, I should be able to when I get back home.
Love and hugs!!

Oh No! I had a long post, replying to everyone, trying to catch up and lost it!! Not sure how I did that. I'll try again tomorrow.

Chris, at least I'll reply to yours since I can see it! So sorry to hear of Caitlyn's dust mite problems and all the changes that are having to be made. I do hope it all helps and she feels so much better for it. Allergies are the pits!

I've been busy running errands, car inspection, tags, etc and my granddaughter visited with me most of Monday. Glad I got all my running around done as rain moved in today.

One thing I want to mention, that might be helpful. I read this morning that truckers are planning to strike on Nov 29. Don't know if there is a bit of truth to it, but I'm stocking up on essentials, like TP, freezer and pantry staples, just in case. Don't want to get caught shorthanded as I was the last time we had shortages.

Hope Everyone has a super day . . . . ♥

Betty Jo, I hate it when that happens. I have two tabs open, one from the previous day's thread and one for the current day, which gives me less chance to lose stuff going back and forth between them.
Thanks for the heads up about the possible strike. I haven't heard anything but I can't say I blame them if it in response to the pandemic.

Good morning, ladies. Going to putter around today. Did my morning exercises, will go out into the garden in a few minutes to feed the critters and take a few pics. Then will scrap a bit, read my book and will figure out groceries and dinner tonight. It'll be a nice relaxing day.

Chris - I'm allergic to dust mites too, it makes my nasal passages close up, I don't get hives. I take Montelukast every night at bedtime and it helps to keep my breathing easier. I don't need it as much in the summer months but take it over the fall/winter.

I saw your post about the animals so put in a pic of Noel. Jen did his IV last night by herself and it went much easier. She put him on the table, cocooned in a fuzzy blanket and he burrowed in and let her do it. Afterwards he stayed there for an hour or so, enjoying the blanket on the table.

I'm heading outside now. BFN

Good morning all. Happy Veterans' Day to all who have ever served our great nation.

Chris, sorry to hear about Cait's allergies. The first thing they say is "rip up any carpeting". I can't wait to get in our house and have NO carpeting! Florida homes have some carpeting, but I got so used to an all-tiled home and can't wait to get my wood floors in!

Hope you have a better day today, Chris. Hope my doodle helped you a little. I didn't have a great day yesterday myself. I fought the depression all day and Ava dragged me over to Lowe's to pick out our kitchen faucet and our drawer pulls. I came home and got right back in my funk. I didn't walk yesterday and I'm wondering if that's why.

The sun is shining but it's cold. Have a good day all.
