The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Many thanks to all our veterans on Veteran's Day and Remembrance Day.
IIRC, Remembrance Day is more like our Memorial Day, honoring those lost?
My thoughts and hopes are that one day, we can live in a world where we don't need veterans. Hippie dreamin' ...
But until that days comes, I am grateful to those who are called to be there.

i thought that yesterday was Wed. so it feels weird for today to be Wed. ;) It was also weird not having to go anywhere, and Cait being home. The day just seemed to drag and drag. It was pitch dark at 4.30, Cait was making hot chocolate and I starting to cook dinner. Such a odd sense of time-warped-ness.

I had a "successful" call in to healthcare.gov. It only took an hour to get everything straightened out. For now. I got the notice that I need to send in verification of my "income" which as y'all remember from last month, I got into a yelling match with another CS Rep. because said Income does not exist.
The CR Rep I spoke with yesterday was funny, I think. He asked if I was born in NJ (he knew I was calling from NJ) and when I said Yes, he said that I was such nice person. I busted out laughing and said that we are absolutely NOT like Chris Christie and the Jersey Shore cast. Sure, we have some Jersey Attitude, but not like *that.*
But hey, at least we laughed about some stuff while we were waiting for his computer to do it's thing. There were 2 Christines attached tot he application, and it wasn't letting him delete one of me. I told him that he'd better do it, that my husband would say one is enough. (And to get rid of the stubborn one).
Maybe this interaction will let them remove the red flag that has to be in my file: "PITA Customer"

Cait and Gary weren't feeling good and Cait had been asking for me to make my home made banana bread. So Good Mom that I am, I did, even though I was tired. :angel:Threw in some hemp flour and flax seed to give it a bit more nutritional boost for her.

ShopRite/Bill paying and Forever IV today. The fun never ends!
And dinner... I don't know what to make for dinner! I am going to have all of us home and being hooked to in IV pole doesn't make cooking all that easy although I have done it. Word of warning if you are ever in that situation: Be *very* careful when opening the oven so that the IV line doesn't get too close to the door. I almost had a big problem a few weeks ago. Now how would I explain *that* to the ER staff??? LOL

I hope that everyone has a super day!!!
Hugs and love!

If anyone needs an excuse for ice cream for breakfast today, here it is:
It’s National Sundae Day! There are three cities in the United States that all claim to be the birthplace of the sundae, but the true origin of this dessert is unknown.
There are hundreds of different variations of the original ice cream sundae, all with different ice cream flavors and toppings. Did you know that the most expensive sundae on record sold for $1,000? It had five scoops of rich vanilla ice cream, edible gold leafs, candied fruit, expensive chocolate, and was served in a crystal goblet with a golden spoon.
To celebrate National Sundae Day, throw an ice cream sundae party for you and your friends. Get a few gallons of your favorite ice cream flavors and a selection of toppings, and enjoy!

Katja- Oh man! Your dad's leg sounds painful. I hope that it heals up ok for him.
My mom is the opposite from my dad. My dad goes to the dr regularly. For the most part, feels great except when his Meniere's gets bad and he gets bad vertigo. My mom was crabbing a bit yesterday that he didn't want to ask the dr if he could drive long distances for an annual fishing trip. I had to laugh and tell her at least he was seeing a dr. Cait was totally snickering and yelling into the phone that I got Grandma good.

Laurie- My MIL does 100 times more stuff out of the house now that she is retired. Several quilt guilds, water color classes- she is never home :D
Hope that you got a lot done in your home but didn't push too hard. I know what you mean about having deadlines- I think it is necessary to have one big party every 6 months so the house gets a good deep cleaning.

Katja, did you make it to yoga? I always felt better after I went, but getting there was always hard. Ugh about the TV. Lots of good sales here in the States for Veteran's Day, do you get them where you are? Enjoy your day off!

Nancy- what an interesting experience you must have had with the trial. Woot for the Devils OT and I hope they did great last night too. What a great week for your fam/DS!

Rae- hehe! My very wacky sense of humor is what keeps me going.

I am going to have to check that author out too. Nancy- must be so nice reading about the Parks you have been to. I started reading The Book of Speculation (I think that was the name) - it has a Water for Elephants feel so far.

My Ray is sneezing too, but I am more worried about her paw. She had a scab on her leg and has been licking it on and off for months. It almost goes away and then she starts licking at it again. Right now it looks red and sore. I wish I knew what to do about it. Any ideas?

Good luck in deciding what is best for you to do with the photography biz. Is the editing something that you could have someone else do for you or are the photos your babies?

Whoa Trudy! 8.30??? That is amazing! Yeah, ITA-- nothing is closed here, Federal office and the post office, but I think that is pretty much it. School are open, sales are booming. SMH

Kat- oh Yuck! Strep! The one good thing about strep is that the meds will work. Better than the flu when you just have to ride it out for however long it takes. I hope that you and your boss can figure out how to work while at your mum's. Hope you had a fabulous jammie day-- I had one too!!!

Claire- Your family is having such a fun week- I love the routine of Builder's B-fast, how cute!
I do have a lot of different scents- I used to do only essential oil blends, but my town is kind of "odd" and most people here don't realize the difference between hand made/EO/natural products and the stuff that you get from the dollar store, so I started mixing in fragrance oil products. Easy to make and sell well too.
I loved Usborne books when my kids were little. I think I still have a few floating around the house.

Eep! Late!!
xoxoxo

Morning O fam- I have my exercise done and dinner is planned- veal stew. Today I have lots to do- home bless- grocery shopping and photo editing. I am looking into buying a steam mop for my ceramic tile floors. Does anyone have recommendations- confession- I have dirty grout!! I inherited it. Okay- time to put more stuff away.

LOL Chris, I thought today was the weekend. I guess having been home yesterday and then today being a holiday ... I was like oh, I should probably do laundry, etc. Hubby's response: Um, you just did that two days ago ... how much dirty laundry to you suppose we generate?!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'm planning to be lazy - yup, actually planning to do it :) Probably won't move much from the computer - take every chance I can to chat, catch up with people from around the globe, scrap, and I've got photos to process from Stan's birthday.

Good morning! Thanks to all vets for keeping us safe, especially my son. Well my Devils forgot how to play last night and lost 2-0. But for my team that was thought to be horrible we are actually doing pretty good. Cant win every game. The Devils held military appreciation night and had camo jerseys for sale so I got one for my son for his birthday. He was so happy and I have to say he looks really good in it! No walking except to the arena as it was rain all day. WOW just saw on my news that a home exploded in the town over from mine. Very scary!

Chris so glad the call went well. Banana bread sounds good I am sure she loved it!

Chris and Kat I thought yesterday was Friday. Funny how your mind plays tricks on you and just how wired we are to our life patterns.

Kat bummer about the strep throat! That really hurts!

Rae wedding photography I am impressed! Good for you for deciding which parts of your business work best for you!

Trudy I am glad that Canada had nothing open I wish that US did too! It has turned into a major retail holiday!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... being very grateful today for the service of our fine men and women in the military! It looks to be a nice sunny day for the Remembrance Day Parade today! Hoping to Skype with my Son and DIL and thank them for their service today also.

Chris - Nice that you could at least have a nice laugh with the CR rep, it really does make the long wait a bit easier to handle and hopefully worked in your favour for the future phone calls that you will most likely have to make. Hope your Gary and Cait are feeling a bit better today! The banana bread sounds very yummy and that extra boost of goodness should be just what Cait needs in her diet!

Laurie - :hungry: stew sounds great ! I love this time of year, when the comfort foods come out!! My DD has a steam cleaner for her floors, but sorry I am not sure what make it is . She loves it though!

Kat - Hope you enjoy your planned lazy day! Nice to know that you don't have to do :washing: today :becky: Weird to have my hubby home today, it makes it feel like its Saturday.

Nancy - So glad that your jury duty is over with, although it sounds like it must have been very interesting! I wish everything was closed on Remembrance Day, but sadly there are still a few stores that open up after noon. No major sales or anything like that though and it sure would be nice if the stores waited until after today to start decorating for Christmas!! For goodness sake show some respect!!

Well DH and I are going to take advantage of the Cinema being open after lunch today, we are off to see the new James Bond movie and then back home in time for supper. Looking forward to the Popcorn too!! Hopefully no major accidents on the Malahat today, we booked our tickets on line and if we can't get to Victoria because of the road being closed we will lose out. Keep your fingers crossed that there are no idiots on the road today! Ok off to make some coffee and breakfast... no Sundae for me for breakfast :becky: Have a great day everyone!! :canada:

I have caught up with everyone's news. Kat so sorry to hear about your Mum, thinking of you as you plan your across the world trip to be beside her. Be careful with your throat, I remember how much trouble you had with it, was it last year or the one before, anyways take care

Chris can appreciate your panic 're the dressing, infection etc hope it is all ok now.I can imagine some people wouldnt understand about handmade soaps, its a pity cos they smell so good.

Nancy i am so glad your jury week is over, david was called for it once but was able to defer as at the time he was Robbies carer and I was at work so it
wasnt possible for him to go as it was over an hours drive away too.

Trudy- hope you enjoy the James Bond, have to admit there was a part where I had to close my eyes and did the best I could to stop Robbie from seeing too- guess you will know which bit when you see it!!!

Waving hi to everyone hope you all have a good day.

Robbie is on rest week, we went to Darlington and he spent his wage packet at HMV we had lunch out too. Tuesday was swimming, David came home early their hours have been cut down to minimum contract, so more time to spend together this week. He is building a unit/desk for the spare bedroom/ his workroom so guess he will be able to spend more time on it this week. Robbie and I are having builders breakfast-one of the advantages of living on a building site. A van comes at 9 with hot sandwiches and lunch bag essentials, as a special treat we have a bacon sandwich on one day of his rest week.

Good morning ladies! I've got a bit of computer work to do today and then need to seriously buckle down and get this wedding editing completed. The nice thing is I get to watch shows on my laptop as I edit on my PC so it's a nice setup.

Chris....hmmm...Ray has been licking, recurring sore.....could be allergies...possibly food related. Taz was severely allergic for the first 8 months of his life and one of the things he did was incessant licking, off and on. But he also scratched at his mouth which is almost always a food allergy thing. Allergies are one of the most difficult things to diagnose. An easy fix is to change the food (a different protein and limited ingredient is best) and see if there is any change over the next month or so.

The sun is out which is good b/c I was worried last night as it was just pouring out. But this morning it is bright and sunny. I have a family session at a local park this afternoon so glad to see the weather is cooperating.

Have a wonderful scrappy day, ladies! I'm going to try to get a page or two done later.

Be careful with your throat, I remember how much trouble you had with it, was it last year or the one before, anyways take care

Thanks, Claire. Yeah, the whole throat thing has me a little jumpy, that's for sure - the slightest even HINT of anything wrong and I'm at the doctors now! (for background for everyone else - last October I got a really bad sinus infection and lost my voice. Three rounds of antibiotics and steroids later ... sinus infection gone, but still no voice - I mean nothing!! Try working as a HR Director with no voice!! ROFL - coworkers enjoyed it, though. Ended up with an ENT specialist ... more meds ... and then we found a polyp on my vocal chords ... darn bugger was the thing taking my voice away; about the size of a match head. Surgery in February this year to remove it. Not sure what was tougher - no voice for 5 months ... or the MANDATORY NO SPEAKING after surgery for a week!!! :censored:)
