woot, it is Social Security Day for us, which means I get to pay bills!!! yay!!
(I am actually being sincere, not sarcastic, believe it or not!)

How is everyone doing today?

Same old, same old here. I had a nice day yesterday. Worked outside for my MIL, listened to some good music (new Stone Sour-- yes!!!) and I love being able to see that my work made a difference.
Came home to my son being a jerk. He has now officially given up all meat and fish. WTH am I supposed to cook now? He is going to be eating a LOT of PB&J sandwiches. I am pretty pissed off at this. He gives me recipes he wants me to cook that I know no one else will eat. (Beet hamburgers??? Really??). Not to mention I am really really concerned about his health. I understand that vegetarian diets can be healthy, but for a teen who has Lyme and takes a lot of meds? arrghhhhhh! And Gary is not understanding my concerns at all.

Oh well. What am I going to do? he is going to have to do his own cooking from now on. Maybe it will be easier, I can just cook for the three of us. *shrugs*
Do any of you have any knowledge/experience with veggie diets? Scott has a tendency to research things on the internet- but only clicks the links that support his views. I think we all do that so I am hoping to get some objective info.

WWW
All I want/wish is to have some sanity and stability in my life. Is that too much to ask?? Does *anyone* ever get sanity and stability?? LOL

Hugs!!!!!

Hi laurie-- how is the vac going?
Did you get your workout in? No worries, though, all of the walking you are doing makes up for any of that!

I have not missed a day on my abs since I started! woo hoo to me! I am still not seeing any difference, however.

Nana-- Did you survive the day? Hope you got to put your feet up a bit. you deserve it. Awesome that the boys had such a good time. I get the pooping out at 10 though. Cait wants me to go with them to that concert next weekend (one of our fav bands!!!) but it is an all day fest. No way could I make it. She told me to rent a scooter and drive it around the mosh pit
How is the Bug liking the Chef class? Bet she loooves it!!!
(maybe she can come up and help me cook?)

Nancy-- good for you to order out dinner! Hope you have a great day today-- no walk though it is pouring up here, same by you?

Phyllis- thank goodness that your recliner is relatively comfy! And yes, Scott is really getting a whole lotta life thrown at him this year. Cait- the weird thing about treatment (IMHO and in my experience) is that in some ways it perpetuates it-- talking about eating/food/behaviors only strengthened them in me. Maybe it is just me being odd. Right now, I am just going to be low key and talk to her, check in and stuff like that. And last night I blew it big time in front of her. She wanted to make me cookies to cheer me up and I said that I didn;t want to eat cookies becasue I was trying hard to not be fat. :(
Sometimes I really suck at this parenting thing.

Wow Trudy!! That is hot for this time of year!!!!Your day sounded like it was a lot of fun, Hope it was. And why in the world would anyone call at 6am if it were not an emergency?????
Thank you for your faith in my parenting skills- as of right now, I am disagreeing ;)

Awesome job Kristy!!!!!! I started shaking at 40!

LINDA S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!!!!!!!! You did great!!!!!!

hugs and love to all of you!!!!

How great Linda that the casino was voted down!

Good luck with the early mornings Krysti! Do you get up at that time too or do you stay in bed and try to sleep some more?

So great you are enjoying the beautiful weather Trudy, I hope it won't get to early with water restrictions!

I hope you got your power washing done on time Phylis!

Ow Nancy busy day, but it sounds like it was fun too!

Ow that's late Nana, good to hear they had a great time!
I'm sure the mini chef class will be fun, our kids love to help with cooking too.

Laurie I hope you had fun shopping with your sister! Did you buy a lot?

Good to hear Chris you slept well yesterday and had a nice day!
I would have told Scott to cook for himself then too, does he like to do that? (maybe he'll give up soon if he doesn't?) If you are concerned about him eating like that maybe you could read about it too and find goot alternatives for him to eat? He does have to take care of all the vitamines he misses when he doesn't eat meat. Good luck and I hope he can take away your concerns. I can understand you have them, especially with him having Lyme.

We have a happy Wes here now his casts are off, only he walks so strange, I hope it's because he has to get used to walking without the casts, but I'm concerned about him bending his feet inwards. Just have to wait and see. Next Monday at school his rehabilitation doctor and physiotherapist will look at him again, I hope it's normal by then or they can do something about it.

Morning O fam- I bought some stuff shopping- just mainly little things- but one of them was kind of cool- little heavy plastic bags that have a design on them, you add water and drop in a special battery operated tea light and the water completes the connection and it lights up! When you take it out of the water it stops working! I plan on placing the bags around the rooms for our opening dance party- if they get knocked over, I just have to mop up water! Today we are renting bikes and riding around. I hope to go to a beach we have not been to so I can enjoy the beach and take photos of course. My sister has gone home. We have planned to come back again next year.

Chris, i'm pretty sure there are FEW instances where you suck at the parent thing. and are you serious about making Scott cook for himself? GOOD IDEA!!! no quicker way to teach him how difficult it is to follow the diet he wants. then it's up to HIM to decide whether it's worth all the work or not. good luck.

LindaS, i am SOOO psyched that you guys were able to defeat the casino. but beware of avaricious governments. they are always looking for Plan B. always trying to sneak it in anyway, under the radar. it's how Pittsburgh tore down a perfectly good stadium and put up TWO new ones, even though the voters said NOOOOOO!

Angela, i hope the casting was successful!

Laurie. to H&## with exercise for this week. make it a REAL vacation!! (i am so bad. i'm the little devil sitting on your shoulder....)

I'M DONE with the power washing!!! today, it's house cleaning and trying not to use too much water.

have a great Wednesday!

They did the cutest thing...they cut up hotdogs and then threaded them with spaghetti noodles..then put them in a bowl of water and microwaved them....they came out looking like octopuses...CUTE..they put cheese on them and ate it...LOVED IT!!! They did some other stuff too, but I didnt' watch that..I went and sat in a chair and watched the other people work out (this is at the YMCA) :hurt:

I passed out at 8:30 last night...and I am still having a hard time this morning...crap it gets so much harder on you as you get old(er).

STUPID ASS PEOPLE (pardon my lang) Second...the article about the ad from Abercrombie...VERY POOR TASTE and that CEO needs to be held down and have sugar poured down his throat!!!

Good Morning all... A bit cooler this morning, but it still looks to be a beautiful day here! Last nights dinner was fun and so good to see the gals again! We did not talk too much about the new owners, they just wanted to visit and really did not want to talk about work. Guess that kind of says it all. We were all given our share of what was in the Staff Social fund from when we were all working together and so that was a pleasant surprise! None of the gals that were laid off have found work yet, but everyone sure looked a lot more relaxed and suntanned! :becky: Hopefully things will work out for them all. As for me, well I could care less if I go back to work or not!

Chris - I think you should stick to your guns about your son cooking for himself, you are not a short order cook and if they don't like what you are serving then they can fend for themselves!! Mean Me talking, but really you do enough without having to act like a chef in a restaurant!! :hungry:

Kristy - Ugghh on the early, early mornings!! Go back to bed!!

Laurie - Enjoy your vacation and don't worry about the workout, you can do all that when you are back home!!

LindaS - Like I said yesterday, HOORAY you WON the fight!! :cheer2:

Phylis - Glad that you are taking a break from the power washing ! Do you have one of those gas powered ones? Those are noisy and the vibration must get to you after a while!! Hope your weather is nice today and you get to relax outside for a bit!

Nana Linda - Wow that's quite the article, would like to tell him to bend over so I could kick his a%@!! And I could hardly believe the news about those girls!! Can you imagine being locked in that house for 10 years??? And you are right how in the hell did the neighbours not know that something was going on????? Idiots!! even the police had been to that house before and did not suspect anything. Those poor girls are gonna need lots of counselling!! The parents must be beside themselves!! I cried when I watched the news last night !! I can't imagine what they must have gone through, such sick people in our world!!!!!

I got my project done yesterday and my girlfriend loved it, sadly I did not remember to take a photo of it  Today I am going to get some plants for the front garden and book my flight to Ontario and Rental car too. Scrapping is also on my agenda. Have a great day everyone

good morning - whew another amazing night of hockey - I did not go to bed until 1:30 am as the last game Sharks/Canucks went into OT and finally the Sharks won. Not much doing today as it is raining but we need the rain so glad to see the rain. Yesterday was wonderful got in a good walk and then gave the city our property taxes for the next quarter - amazing how much they keep going up. Chris we had no rain yesterday until late night.

Chris make your son cook - it is a skill that will last life long. I always remind me girlfriend who is vegen that we have canine teeth - we are meant to eat meat. LOL

Phylis your comment about my intense affection for hockey got me thinking if I am one of those crazy fans. I may have to do a scrap page about it. LOL Sorry about the Pens - those Islanders are pesky!

Nana those hot dog octopi sound so cute! Seems like a really fun class. And yes I think it takes longer to recover from lack of sleep the older I get. this for the story on A&F. That ad needs to be removed - shame on that Jefferies! Reprehensible! And yes it is amazing those women were found alive! Lock their tormentors up for life.

LindaS congrats on defeating the Casino! Well done!

Laurie your shopping sounds like a success!

Angela so glad the casts are off for Wes. I would think it would take awhile to go walk correctly again!

Have a great day all!

Angela - I missed personals for you :sorry: So glad that your Wes has his cast off, hopefully his walking to return to normal soon, he must feel so free without the casts!! Hope the rest of your day/night is great!

Trudy we posted together LOL - sounds like you had a great dinner. Those nights out with girlfriends are such fun. Your weather sounds like you went from winter directly to summer. This year we actually have had a very long real spring. I hope your friends find work!
