The biggest reason why I love doing the Daily Ooos: It reminds me what I did the day before and what I am supposed to be doing today.
:floorlaugh:
JK! You guys are the biggest reason. What I did/am doing is the second biggest. *g* This week is wonky.
Yesterday was long and weird and good. I think... *shrugs* I don't even know anymore
Food shopping was fine, cleaning was fine -- no dropped weapons. Scott called and asked if he could come over for dinner and a game. Duh. of course! Caitlyn and Tom got him a game for his birthday- Loud Librarians- and we played that after dinner. It took us a while to figure out how to play it correctly. We were halfway through the rounds when we realized something wasn't quite right and reread the instructions. The second part of the game was easier. LOL You break into 2 teams and take turns shouting out words on a topic that begins with certain letters for 60 seconds. You move a "chain" around the board and whoever gets further after the two rounds wins. Points for each win until you hit 12 points.
Some of the topics that should have been easy were hard and vice versa. Gary, Scott, and I had "Things that Are Red" and blanked. Caitlyn and Tom had a category of "Words that end in -ght" and lapped the board twice.
I love family game nights ♥

I also talked to my brother and mom throughout the day. My dad got home from the surgery before dinnertime and he didn't need a catheter which was the best news I think he could have gotten. He was dreading that possibility. The Dr had it on the pre-op list that he would need one for a few days and that was incredibly anxiety-provoking for him and my mom. The doctor said the surgery went well, he got a dose of chemo, and he goes back in 2 weeks for a recheck. Please let that be the end of this. :praying2:

I am leading the Stream Study again at work with the new intern. At least this time I feel more prepared. The weather is perfect and I would love to take the groups to the upper stream. The hike there always makes it more fun for them. I already have a post-it taped to my cell phone to have a general idea of the times each rotation starts and stops. I can't see any of the other groups at that site so it will be all on me to make sure that we switch groups at the right time. I got this. (I do, right??)
Caitlyn left for work at 4 am - she is working at the graduation ceremony for the college. Her 2 coworkers/friends have to wear their regalia since they will be on the grad floor. She is incredibly happy that she didn't have to do that. She was required to wear all black which--if you know her- is her everyday wear :giggle4:

On to personals!
Hugs!

@bitzee Thank you, Caitlyn was such a cute baby at that point. As a newborn she was a little weird looking :rotfl: Really, she was.

@JeanneMN Thank you for the good thoughts for my dad♥
The celebration for your cousin sounds heartwarming, emotional, and comforting. The garden stone will be amazing, the quote and photo are truly inspiring. She must have been an incredible person.

@BrightEyes Yikes, that is summer weather already! I hope that the AC does the trick and you do any errands early before it gets too hot. WTG, 3 LOs done. I still feel pretty far behind but I did get a CP page prepped for Friday.
Tornado/wildfire/hurricane seasons are all looking to be difficult this year. We have been seeing lots of warnings this year is going to be active in the Atlantic for tropical storms.

@vickyday Cait was really cute with those curls and cheeks. ♥
You didn't give up on your walk. You walked 1 mile and then listened to your body and decided it was best to turn back. No such thing as giving up when you make an effort. Some walking is better than no walking.
Hope that your stomach is much better by now.

@taxed4ever You have to be feeling relieved and pleased that the ILs are almost ready to be moved. Sorry that you can't make the hike today but hopefully things will be opening up from this point onward.
That's such sad news that you won't get to see the kids this summer. Any chance you can fly out for a bit?
You ILs and my parents are in the same headspace it seems. All the stress and bickering. Ugh!

@AK_Tracy LOL-ing at your hair-crazy matching the you-crazy. I'd hate to think that my crazy hair is the same as me-crazy but I am not sure which would be worse. LOL

@Cherylndesigns Rest as best you can. You've been running full-tilt and it will hit you like a ton of bricks if you don't rest. *gentle hugs*

@mimes1 I hope that Mark's blood sugar stabilizes quickly. Gary's was all over the place yesterday. he has been on a pump for so long that he has so much scar tissue that causes absorption problems. I know how horrible that makes him feel, I imagine it is the same for Mark.

Good morning everyone! Mark got through the night with only one low - and I slept through it. Makes me feel bad when I don't get up and help him. Today already he's below 90 so instructions were to skip insulin again today. Poor guy is wiped out - and still managing pain/soreness in his shoulder from PT. Hopefully today will be a better day for him.
Today we're getting the house power-washed. We've never done this before but we have algae up on the dormers and on the brick on the north side of the house. In California this wasn't a "thing" so we're curious as to what they do and how they do it. My only hope is that they leave the windows clean - This can't be their first rodeo and I can't imagine windows being left dirt/wet from the washing but it's my first rodeo on this so I don't know! Fingers crossed for clean windows when done and not dirty wet spotty windows!
Also our old dog Ike who'll be 15 in July has acutely become unwilling to come upstairs. He has mobility issues and is on all the things to help with that. Don't ask me his daily cost for upkeep!! But I'd spend double that for this boy. He's my pet soulmate and we're like glue so I'll do anything for this boy and he can do pretty much anything he wants and get away with it. My nephew is our vet and I texted him an update this morning and he recommended cold laser. I Amazoned it and a home unit can cost anywhere (at least in my brief checking) from 129$ and up to $350. I found a decent looking variable intensity unit for 225$. I'm happy to drop that for this pup - but before I do I'll research it a little more. Does anyone have any experience with Cold Laser home units?
Hopefully I can get a layout or two done today - Have I told you all how much I love it here lately? :beatingheart: :flower:

That game sounds like alot of fun! Part of my family loves game nights but when it's just me and Mark he's not a fan.
So I have all these games and only play when the kids are around. Loud Librarian sounds like a fun one!
My dad got home from the surgery before dinnertime and he didn't need a catheter which was the best news I think he could have gotten. He was dreading that possibility.
I'm so glad your dad did well and didn't need a catheter. That in itself will hopefully keep him in a better headspace the first few days. I'll be praying for your dad's health and recovery!

Good Morning,
Feeling better today but don't want to push my stomach with much! I've had my bone broth, so I'll let that settle for a bit before I try something else!
Walked my mile today.
The weather is warm but the humidity is low! Perfect! I hope it stays this way for the week and the weekend while family is here.
Sweeping and mopping floors today.
Did laundry yesterday.
Tomorrow I will begin work on the weekend food.
All the work you put into it and it seems it is over before it begins! But well worth the effort!
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. The week is flying by. Monday, Jen and I spent the day at the zoo, didn't get home til dinnertime. She loved it. On Tues I met up with a new friend for morning coffee and then played mexican train with the ladies. When I got home, Jen and I went to the garden center and picked up dirt and herbs for planting in the raised boxes later today. I also want to head over to the lake before dusk today to see what babies are swimming around, fingers crossed the grebes have been born. I really want a photo of mama grebe with babies on her back.

I bailed on the bird hike this morning. The contractor is coming today to start on the deck/stairs/sidewalk. I can't wait to have that finished. Baby finches have left the nest, didn't see them while they were in there, only heard them, as the nest is high sided and they nestled into it so it was very private for them. On the other side of the back yard, mama robin has been sitting in her nest, waiting for babies to hatch, should start in the next 2-5 days. We think she might have 4 eggs in there. She is tolerating the dogs running around but squawks at us if we get close but watching her thru the window is fun as she is only about 10 feet away.

Got two more episodes to finish The Good Doctor. I'm sorry that the show is ending. I like that one so much more than Grey's Anatomy now. The new cast just isn't as good as the old cast, I keep watching b/c after all these years I feel invested in it, but it is not one of my faves anymore.

@faerywings You and C were such cute littles with your curls. I would love to have curly hair, I hate my straight thin hair. Glad your dad is doing well.

@mimes1 We power wash and our windows come out pretty clean. We need to do ours soon too. You are a good doggie mom. I'm like you, I hate spending the money but will do what needs to be done for my dogs, they are my everything. My old guy is turning 11 this year and so far no major issues but our vet will start monitoring him more closely now to hopefully catch anything as it starts, to give him the best quality of life.

@taxed4ever I bet you'll be glad when it is all done and the ILs are settled in their new home. You sure have been busy. I too am going to need a new computer but hopefully can hold off until I find a good sale later this year. My system is really good but is getting old and can't upgrade anymore, so programsare starting to get glitchy, like my acdsee program that isn't working anymore. I hate that they force you to either upgrade or buy new systems. My ipad is like that, our telus app won't work on it anymore.

I need to get outside in a minute and do dog clean up before the contractors get here. HAGD everyone.

Morning, gals. Yes, summer temps have arrived BIG TIME... Ended up with the ceiling fans running most of the day. That was good as the A/C didn't come on even though it was in the low 90's. I finished my errands done before it got too hot. About 3:00 PM as I was sitting in the recliner I heard the wind pick up... looked out the patio window and saw the big plum tree twisting and turning big time... thought for a few minutes that it was going to be twisted right out of the ground!!! The other trees and shrubs in the neighbors' yards were doing the same thing. Guess it was a mini-whirlwind passing over the area. There was a tornado warning over in the northeastern part of the state from 3:45 till 4:30. 2 tornados were sighted but they were were in a rural area - and passed into Texas. Needless to say, I kept the TV on for up-dates for awhile. Albuquerque is not in the tornado alley area although in the past it has had a few "mini" twisters take down a few fences and trees - but no major damage.

I am still working on what books to get rid of... talked to a Used Book Store yesterday and they will take The Left Behind book series and a few others for credit in their store. The book store is near the base so will drop them off when I go to pick up Rx in the next week or so. I dropped off several books at the Senior Citizen library yesterday.

Tomorrow is the carpet cleaning day so may not make it in here. Still have a few things to move first thing tomorrow. HAGD

Good rainy morning ladies.
Someone please send me some sunshine. We are getting a sunny day followed by a week of grey/rain. Even the dandelions are having trouble growing. Today is overcast and I had to turn the lights on as it was gloomy in the house. Makes me want to just curl up and nap. Glad its not my laundry day as I dont think it would happen. :giggle4: Guess this gives me time to get caught up on my May scrapbook. I only have about 100 photos of my puppies from the last couple days.

Lucy thinks we bought the loveseat just for her. She is always sleeping on the console section. I had no idea I was buying her a couch when we picked them out a couple years ago. She also sleeps on the van console between the front seats. She's a weird puppy.

Good afternoon, my friends.

Well, Chris @faerywings that ton of bricks has hit me. I could hardly get out of bed today. I'm so stiff and sore and waiting for my Tylenol to kick in. I hope your dad is doing well. I apologize for being semi-MIA and thanks Kay @BrightEyes for the good thoughts and your hugs, too. Tomorrow is Chuck's birthday and I'm dreading it. Kay, you're right, it's the first year that's the hardest.

Adrienne is planning a nice family meal in his honor tomorrow evening. I just got another Color Play uploaded. I've only done 6 so far this month and it releases tonight, (well, technically tomorrow) so we'll see. It's keeping me busy and you all know that scrapping is my therapy and keeps me sane. I can shut the world out for awhile while I'm creating.

Hugs to everybody and hang in there - I'll be back (said in the Terminator Voice). I know I've missed a lot and I don't like to miss things, so you all know I'm not in a good headspace when I don't make it in here.

Hugs to ALL!

The Daily Ooooooo's and y'all are what I love about this place. there are lots of other things I love too, but you're # 1. Have I mentioned I really love it here? Loud Librarian made me laugh out loud, my clothes were loud & sometimes my storytelling & reading got loud, but otherwise we were about as sedate as elementary kids can be. So happy to hear surgery went well, I'll keep the garden prayers going. You sound more confident every time you talk about your job.

Hubs is looking for supper, I'll try to get back later.

Today we're getting the house power-washed.
My 12-yr.old dgd was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes a year ago. For 12, she's adjusted pretty well, and now has an insulin pump. Sometimes I think she's a little loosey goosey with her calculations, but she had great success during track so seemed to manage it well. Mom is an NP so she keeps a close watch. I hope the windows stay clean. You know the saying, we make plans, God laughs? I think he does the same when someone says clean windows

I agree that the Good Doctor was awesome! I had a number of kids with autism during my years of teaching and everyone had their own unique qualities. Freddie Highmore did a phenomenal job, he reminded me so much of one of my kids. Nurseries are so rejuvenating for the spirit, unfortunately for credit card balance too.

[/QUOTE]Boy, I need a nap after reading how busy you are, elderly parents require a lot of exergy , patience, perseverance, as I watch hubs check on his mom everyday, throwing out junk mail so she cant write a $1 check to everything that comes in the mail, pays her bills, etc.etc.

I created 8 pages today said me, never. Since I came here, my scrapping style has done a complete 180° and I love it, I've used very few flowers and have laid off the foo foo clusters for awhile too . I used to spend hours on clusters and custom shadows, I like completing more pages, I would not he in Kansas anymore if I did 8 in a day.....hmm,I'm not in Kansas now, that splains' a lot Lucy.

You both make me laugh, but I'm glad you think of me! I sure get it and agree, Tracy - I personally just don't see the point... Well, actually I have this bad reputation with flowers. I really do LIKE flowers and have these very sweet memories of my Grandpa and his huge garden with lots of beautiful flowers and roses. In the Spring and Fall he'd cut us a bouquet to bring to our teachers, complete with tin foil around the stems and thorns. So, I DO like flowers and they have their place on a layout.
Just mostly not on mine. :floorlaugh:

For one, I do not like flowers on snow pages. I'm not a snow/cold-fan either (Tracy knows that ;)) and from experience I know there are no flowers in snow. Right Tracy??? :cold: I'm too literal to have flowers + snow on my layouts.

And, for me scrapping is all about the photos so I don't like beautiful scenery or sweet children lost in a sea of flowers. I get what you mean by goofy Tracy and me too, flowers and I don't scrap well together. It just doesn't work for me even though they do quite nicely for others in very pretty pages...

Seriously, this is my own opinion and does not reflect the management - haha, did I say that right? Late for me, hope I making sense. Point is I do like flowers, just not overwhelming on MY pages or in what to me is inappropriate places.

Everyone else does fine. No flower defense needed. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I created 8 pages today said me, never
But your pages are different than mine. Mine are a simpler style while yours require more art. That’s what makes it fun, all the styles.
I would not he in Kansas anymore if I did 8 in a day.....hmm,I'm not in Kansas now, that splains' a lot Lucy.
Hehehe this made me laugh. :floorlaugh:
You both make me laugh, but I'm glad you think of me!
Glad you’re laughing cause we’re laughing too :giggle4:;):giggle4:
For one, I do not like flowers on snow pages. I'm not a snow/cold-fan either (Tracy knows that ;)) and from experience I know there are no flowers in snow. Right Tracy??? :cold: I'm too literal to have flowers + snow on my layouts
Never flowers and snow. At least not here. I always groan when I see so many flowers in winter kits. One or two for all the flower LO people but snow doesn’t have flowers for me. :cold: And :flower: equal :rantonoff:
:floorlaugh::giggle4:
Seriously, this is my own opinion and does not reflect the management - haha
Oh my goodness this cracked me up!!! Not reflect the management :floorlaugh::yourock::floorlaugh:

@AK_Tracy I keep trying to be simpler so I could get more done, but that Kansas tornado always starts whirling in my brain, aka ditzy, putzy, crazy, and then I get off track. Don't tell @MariJ but I used to spend a lot of time with flowers.
