Checks, double checks... yes. Wednesday

I am feeling a bit "out there" so let's do some grounding breaths. Place both feet firmly on the floor. Listen to the sounds around you, be in the moment. Take a deep breath in and release. Feel the chair under you, the contact of the floor, the air on your skin, and the sounds and smells around you. Breathe in and out... and again...
I hope that helps you feel steady and connected. Some days I feel like I am floating in the ether. Today was one of them.

Scott and I had a good time together even though we were unsuccessful for the most part at the garden centers. I knew that we were at the end of the season for veggies but I didn't consider how hard it was going to be for them to order plants- they obviously didn't want to order too much, especially since the lockdown happened at the point where inventory would start coming in.
I was able to get some impatiens and some grassy stuff- darn it, Scott even taught me a little rhyme who to remember which kind of grassy stuff was which one has edges, one has joints. Two patio tomatoes, some herbs, eggplant and bush beans. Sadly, no basil, no cucumbers.
I was able to get the flowers planted in the buckets and put some vinca vine into two of them, I should put some in the big bucket on the patio. I think if the weather holds today, Scott and I are going to put the veggies in.

Quiet day I guess.

Hoping you all have a great one!

Kay- ty again for the pattern link. Caitlyn printed it out, got confused by it, and then decided she was too mentally exhausted to figure it out. She was having a rough day yesterday, poor kid. (I gotta stop calling them kids, but they will always be my babies heh) I think she might attempt it today.
What a mess with the Rxs. Thank goodness that you didn't drive all the way out there. Were you able to get it filled and picked up locally in the afternoon? I hope that you are in a better mood today, I hate when I get into funky moods. Stay warm!

Nancy- That is such a nice thing that your town did to honor service members. That is great news about the eye surgery for DH! That has to be a relief.

Trudy- that is terrible about the pool, will it be covered by a warranty? I hope it is able to be fixed quickly if not already done by now. My brother got a small pool for Christopher since they aren't sending him to summer camp. But the good news is that he is able to have virtual soccer practice. It is just drills but how smart to keep the kids active and involved.
How was the b-day party? I am happy that your back was ok. My shoulders are a bit stiff from pulling up some roots and digging out rocks yesterday. (but worth it!!)
Who is happiest about getting the bathroom finished? My guess is Heather.
It is interesting to see how different areas are opening up outside of the US. I have a feeling that we are going to be bouncing from lockdown/lift/lockdown/lift for a long time the way there is no real guidance being set, no real testing/tracing strategy. Nope, we just have a madman ranting on Twitter about [too much s*** to express].

Felis- hi hon! Nice see you pop in! Thank you for the hugs to the kids, they will appreciate them. You know how much Caitlyn loves her babies. Tat was Scott's favorite rat (not that he played favorites, but he kind of did *wink*) so it was hard on him too.
I am like you- not in any rush to go shopping but I do miss the library to get books.

jean-- and Felis-- no worries about not feeling talkative, I am chatty enough for all us :blah:
I put on shorts too and ignored unshaved spots on them bwuahahah!!! That is so funny that DH found your ring! Good thing it belonged to you:eyebrows: JK! Your DH is a keeper too.
How was the Genetic Detective? You must have been in heaven! Is this going to be a weekly program? Enjoy!

I need to get started with my day. Hoping you have a great one!! xoxo

Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful sunny warm morning! I will be heading out for a walk today for sure! Not much in way of news here this morning, just more of the same old stuff. Cringe to hear the deficit that our Country will be in when this is all over and wondering how in the heck will it all be ok again?? I have not heard yet if the new pool is up and filled with water. However I did find out that the store said they would replace it. So that is good news! Oh and as for the Birthday Party... It will be tomorrow, to bad it is not today as the weather is spectacular today, so a scoop of ice cream would be extra special! Tomorrow is supposed to be cloudy but still nice and warm, looking forward to the party and seeing all the neighbours! More of the same for me today, as I start on another section of the kitchen and doing lots of the drawers. They are so much easier than the cupboard fronts LOL.

Chris - Glad that you had such a nice time with Scott at the garden centre, but that is sad that you could not get everything that you wanted!! I still have to hit the garden centre here and get some flowers for the front porch. Not doing hanging baskets this year, they make such a mess of the glass on the porch. Hope I can find what I need as it is very late for looking for plants here. The nursery has been such a busy place and long waits so I have avoided it. I should perhaps run out there today, its such a beautiful day and the middle of the week so maybe, it won't be too crazy with people? :noidea: Hope your feeling of being discombobulated ends after your morning coffee/caffeine intake! Yes I think you are right and it will be Heather who will be the most happy with the new bathroom! A house full of boys and all the smells that go along with them LOL it will be nice if she could have a bathroom all to herself!!

Felis - So happy that you popped in to say hello! I think that most of us are not really in the mood to do much in the way of chatting lately! Especially when we listen to what is going on in the world these days! I hope that you can continue with your online shopping and that you find some great deals on some books.

Jean - I don't know how you can survive with out AC!! I am a bit of a whimp however when it come to the hot humid weather! We don't normally get to hot here on the West Coast and our temps stay pretty mild, but when we do get a really hot spell then I am sure happy to have our heat pump! It is not the same as air conditioning but still keeps the house nice and cool! How wonderful that you got your missing ring back!! I lost my wedding ring shortly after our first child was born and it was found again in the spring when all the snow and ice melted, just lying on our driveway Whew!!! I was sure happy to see it again!! I am about half done on the birthday card and will post a pic of it perhaps tomorrow. I did find a cute little gift at the local toy store. I was the only one in the whole store, so that was nice!

Ok waving hello to everyone else and hoping that you all have a wonderful Wednesday!! Off to get the priming done.

It's a beautiful day. Sunny, breezy, and so far not too hot. Nothing on the calendar, so need to get on with data entry for my genealogy. The Genetic Detective is a series. Don't know how many episodes, but some. DH said it was a little stiff and maybe it was. I kept wishing for more details of her actual work. We did both enjoy the show though. Cece is doing good.

Chris, you got some good plants to make you happy but even I can see that missing basil isn't right. Any neighbors who need to share some? Hope Cait gets into the new mask design. Even though they don't fit as well as with the nose wire, I'm sticking to the really simple one I've made. Even with that the last one needed a little help as the two parts didn't wind up identical as they should have. Wishing you lots of good dirt therapy and a hug for Scott as well as Cait. Should have figured. For books, are you sure you can't go with ebooks? DH had to switch to the electronic library when our physical library closed. I was already using both. A friend I've shared books with has gotten into Kindle and is reading away with those.

Felis, I forgot to mention that the H&S Zoom sessions aren't recorded. They can't play together exactly as the timing of everyone's internet differs. The group things you see recorded from multiple places are edited and synced. What H&S does is have people solo and others mute themselves to play along. The link you gave for folks to record to had a device to start with a clap. That clap then was the key for synchronizing the combined recording. It looks so easy when it's finished though.

Grateful for this lovely day. Wishing the same to you all.

Finally back home after a busy morning. My Rx got sent to Smith's late yesterday afternoon but by the time I finished supper, it was too close to closing time at the Pharmacy. So got up early and sped over to Smith's at 8AM only to find out the Pharmacy does't open until 10...so got some fresh fruit and bread and came on home.

Yesterday, I got a check in my DH's name from a supplement co... the FTC ruled they lied about the supplements and had to refund the money. Called my personal banker and set up an appointment so I could bring it in. I also got my absentee ballot so dropped it off in the mail on the way to the bank. Then went back to Smith's and got my Rx. Got home to find a voice mail from my primary care doc's nurse. Called and now have a phone appointment with the doc in 3 weeks to see how the meds/cough are doing.

I got good news late yesterday afternoon... I am a great-grandmother again! DD#3's Son is a father... they had a baby boy! Don't know the details other than mother and baby are doing fine.

Chris... I understand why Cait was a bit confused about how to sew the masks... I ended up printing out the instructions and still had to do a bit of 'reverse sewing"...i.e... ripping stitches out... myself. Discovered when I wore the mask today that the elastic was too loose so had to cut it down a bit and resew it... now it fits much better. Glad you were able to get most of the plants you want... how you get them all planted and they do well. I decided to wait until next season to plant any new ones in the pots.

Trudy... you are sure a working fiend.... glad the drawer fronts were easier than the cabinet doors.

Jean, sounds like a fun series if you are into geology. DH had bought us a software for doing the family history several years ago. Never did get it installed - maybe I should take a look and see if it will work on my computer.

I need to get some lunch and put my feet up afterwards. Have a good day.

Hello girls!
I feels my english rough and clumsy, as previous few days I'm not read or watch anything on english as its usual for me. I just was distancing from any devices for couple of days (except Instagram). My sister showed me this video of a russian girl she follow, and it's made so sweet, so I know you'll like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpZXnvgLzsc This is cute description of my days too.
I'm also struggling with ''A New York Winter's Tale'', so many good reviews, bestseller book, but I can't like it! I give it multiple chances, mostly because one of my favorite musicians talk for New York with so much love, also I'm not good with the distance but in my mind you NJ girls are living near to NY city, so it's reminds me for you. And of course I desperately need from love story, and on the cover is said "This isn't true story, it's story for true love"! But there was about 100 pages love from 800. Also the book is fiction with lots of imaginary world, and it is not from the kind I like. I begin to doubt in my analytical skills. If someone is read it, please share your impression from this book!

Jean, so cute, your hubby to give you lost ring! It is almost like to give you new ring as he know you already likes it and you're looking for it! One of my decision for this summer is to wear more often short shorts. But now we have lovely rainy days. Don't forget that usually we are more critical to yourself than the truth is. Finger crossed to get your appt for primary care easily! Everything is so complicated now!
The Genetic Detective sounds very interesting show! Oh, bad that H&S can't share their music with the world, but you are completely right, there is lots of editing and synchronizing. I feel like people are ungrateful to what musicians actually did in this quarantine. And in additional all the realized videos and streaming was for free. With lots of cancelled gig, this will be difficult year in time when music was lifebelt for lots of people. I saw my favorite band was joking that they will start to accept even playing on weddings, just to have some work LOL.

Chris, you're joking, but the knowledge that you are here 'chatty enough for all of us' is a huge support for me when I fell into a hole of bad mood! I'm worried that we share too much things in this PUBLIC diary, which makes us vulnerable to strangers which can spy. So I have to make this difficult balance between what is trifle and for which details I can't talk public. But I'm learn so much from any of you girls, so I'll be forever grateful! Also I feels it like a place where I always have shoulder to cry on! Which is priceless!
I'm sorry that your shopping wasn't successful! But at least you're spend time with Scott! We was found cucumbers, but the dog was playing in their bed few days ago, so now we have discussion did they are or aren't survived LOL! Will see. Here on a farmers market have lots of seedlings, the farmers don't want to risk with so much plants as usual, as they can have trouble with canceled delivery from business clients (restaurants). So they was selling lots of their prepared seedlings. Also I'm watching on IG that lots of people was chosen gardening as lockdown hobbies. I'm wondering what will happens with their plants now when we'll get back to normal?!

Trudy, hope you'll have nice time for the party! Enjoy your walk today!

Kay, congrats for the great-grandson! Wonderful news! I'm sure he will makes you very happy! Hmm, when will be allowed to visit him? Probably not soon, but at least they will send photos.
