CHEERY O
GoooOd morning, O-Zie Os :)

Ya ever have a couple of days where everything you touch becomes a mess? That is where it seems like I am at now. Lots of grumbling under my breath and a few louder curses tossed in for good measure.

It was Silly Season at ShopRite, people just getting in my way non-stop, and loud music, and the dude on the motorized scooter that kept beeping as he back up over and over and over... :target:
ha!! I must be getting old and cranky and get off my lawn dammit!

Got home, read the directions on the soup mix that I was going to cook for dinner and realized that I needed to soak the beans overnight. ugh. Come to think of it now, I think I was going to cook these another time, and ran into the same issue. Too bad I didn't remember that earlier.
I decided that I needed to get outside, cold weather be damned and planted my new azalea that my IL's got me for mothers day. So i dug and dug and dug some more- all to make a hole about 1'x1'. The soil up here is so rocky and I had to dig them out by hand. But I got the bush in and now my fingers are crossed that it will transplant well.

My rhododendron is starting to bloom and my old azalea looks amazing. Seeing flowers makes me happy :hippie:

Today I am off to take Miss J to the vet for her Lyme booster, then working in the afternoon. The soup mix is going to go in the crock pot since I won't be around the kitchen to watch it-- needs 4 hours of simmering- so crock pot it is. It should work if I cook it on low for 8-9 hours? Hope so or we will be eating hard and grainy beans for dinner.
Ooooooh! I have to see if I have corn meal- I want to make corn bread on the side.

Hope that you all have a happy and successful day- and that part is directed at me, after the way things have been running so wonky here!LOL

Nancy- WTH is up with this NJ weather????? It is freezing! The whole time I was outside yesterday, I had on a t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt over that and I was still so cold.
Hope that your DH is feeling better today. Men and colds...
How fun to have a "upscale" hotdog restaurant. I don't eat hot dogs, but it sounds different and fun and perfect for walking when (if!!) the weather gets warmer.
 The water in scares me too! Even up here, where it is supposed to be all clean/protected, the Ringwood Superfund Site seems be more and more pervasive and contaminated.

Trudy- I am really happy to hear that the vertigo is better and my fingers are crossed that it doesn't come back.
That is funny about your sister having these memories about growing up that you don't. My mother says that she and her sister have a totally different take on their childhoods than my uncle who would say how awful it was and that they were very happy. Maybe in large families the dynamics are all twisted up?
I think that much of her stomach issues are ties to fatigue. When she overdoes it and gets overtired, that triggers her insomnia and then that makes her very nauseous. Maybe???? Hope your swim was fun and have a great time on your hike!

Rae- I totally get what you mean- when you are always in pain, it feels odd when you are not. heheh!!! So happy that you are finding something that helps. Have you tried taking Turmeric? My LLMD suggests that as a good supp to reduce inflammation.
Hope you had fun with the puppers!

Time to get Cait ready for the bus.
xoxo

LOL I think NJ weather and VA is the same! Morning Chris and other O's! :) We've been hovering around 60 for the past two days - today is a jeans, boots, and sweater day at the office ... like, it's almost summer?! WTH!?

Chris, how's Cait feeling? I hope she (and you) don't continue to get push-back from the school. When she's sick ... well, she's sick! Cait's obviously a great student with the awards she's getting, so I don't understand why the administrators are getting their panties all twisted up.

Yay for the vertigo subsiding, Trudy! Hope it doesn't come back again for a very long time! Now you can get back to your outdoor activities :)

Busy day on the horizon for me tomorrow, so hopefully today will go smoothly. Tomorrow Stan gets his wisdom teeth out ... all four ... in the chair ... under local anesthetic with nitrous oxide. The teeth haven't matured and are all horizontal - weird, right?! They are soooo close to the other teeth that his dentist has been concerned for a number of years that if they even started to more a hair, he'd be in so much pain. She finally put her foot down and said they had to come out! Of course, Stan's all like, I hate you, blah blah blah ... but that's his nerves with not knowing what's going to happen. Been told it will take an hour (hour? I was surprised that it would be that quick), and that Stan will be on liquids only for a while, then soft foods, and it will be at least a week before he can eat solid food. Oh well, he's not overly crushed at that - let's see, he can have smoothies, ice cream, Jell-O, milkshakes ... uh-huh. Yeah, he's crushed. :pound:

Feels like someone turned the AC on at the office - freezing in here ... I'm going to go play with a thermostat or two ;) Laters!

good morning - well the skies are now partly cloudy and it should go up to the mid 60s but with rain. Yuck. The only good thing is that I am going out to dinner with my girlfriends to one of our favorite Italian restaurants. My DH is even sicker today. He decided yesterday that he was getting better but came home coughing worse and went to bed and is still sleeping. Luther and I had a good walk. Yesterday I got most of the wedding album done and uploaded and sent it to the bride and groom. And they say they loved it. Whew. I know I like it but using Anna Aspnes designs are not the traditional wedding albums. I also have actions from paint the moon and boy were they helpful in correcting lighting and colors. So now to finish and put everything in the correct order and get it sent to them.

Chris yes I have those kind of days. And they are so annoying. I will just take out a book and read to escape. Glad you have your plants in the ground. My rhododendron is not yet blooming but it is close. And seeing all the blooming plants makes me happy too. The irises are really starting to bloom around the neighborhood. Makes the walks with Luther so fun.

Kat good luck tomorrow with Stan and the teeth removal. Sounds like a fun diet and it is a great reward. There is nothing worse that teeth pain so in the long run better to get it taken care of now.

Trudy so glad vertigo is better. Your hike sounds beautiful. I understand why your husband is done with hockey but I am so glad that there are new teams St Louis and San Jose that are playing for their first chance to play for the Cup. I can't stand the Penguins so hoping Tampa comes through. Hoping both go 7 games as that is more hockey for me.

Rae that is so interesting about how much better you feel not eating wheat. It is awesome when the aches go away. Have fun with the dogs!

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies!! It is not raining here, but not really a sunny day either, so hopefully it will hold and the hike won't be a wet one. I will pack my rain coat just in case though. Sounds like we will be hiking all along the river today, so it should be a lovely hike! So glad that I will not have to deal with the dizzy's today!! Yesterdays swim was awesome, the pool was practically empty and I found my rhythm early and enjoyed doing a few extra laps! Heading back to the chiropractor again late this afternoon, it feels so good to be in alignment once more! It is surprising how much better I feel with just a few adjustments!

Chris - Ugh don't you just hate it when your taste buds are ready for a great meal, but then you have to wait an extra day for it!! Hope your beans turn out lovely, I am sure that cooking them on low in crockpot will work out! I hear ya on getting grumpy as you get older, I swear I don't have half the patience for people anymore, except of course for my grandkids :becky: I am becoming one of those drivers who bitches about everyone else's driving LOL. Glad you managed to finally dig down far enough into the rocks to get your Azalea planted! We live on a big rock here too, it is hard to find dirt that's why we haul it in when we make a new garden. We have broken a few shovels in the past!!

Kat - Sounds chilly where you are! Awful that you have to wear winter clothes this late in May!! Hope that Stan's tooth removal goes smoothly and he doesn't have too much pain! Living on smoothies and milkshakes sounds pretty good to me!! :becky:

Nancy - Sorry to hear that your hubby is feeling worse, hope a day in bed helps him out and he feels better by the end of the day! Glad you got your walk in already today and how nice that your wedding album was a big hit!! I would love to have some of those paint the moon actions, I am jealous!! LOL. Hope the Tampa Bay team kicks butt for you! Enjoy your hockey games!!

Ok better get breakfast and pack a lunch for my hike, then off to Lake Cowichan to meet up with everyone. Have a wonderful day everyone and hope that the sun comes out and warms you all up!!

Wow...Chris....the furniture looks awesome! Had a busy day and night. Got asked to take Ava for an overnight visit. Picked her up yesterday afternoon and the dogs never stopped playing. We went to the park, the river, the playground and then home to play in the yard. I took some fun pics of them. The playing went on until after 11 last night. It was Ava's 2nd time away from home and her first time doing a sleepover with another dog. She was just beside herself with glee all night LOL. She kept racing over to give me a lick and a snuggle and then would go racing off to chase Taz, running up and down the backstairs to the yard and then back into the house, jumping up onto the couch and then starting all over. We were laughing at them all night. We tried to watch "Containment" but didn't see much of it b/c of the dogs grabbing our attention. Sleep was so-so. Ava kept wanting to snuggle with me and then play with Taz who would grumble and just squeeze his eyes shut. He wanted to sleep. Finally we got up at 6:30 this morning and they've been playing ever since. I'll drop her off at home this afternoon. Taz will probably sleep after that, he'll be exhausted LOL. So I'll get my work done late today but hope to finish up by 6:30 or so.

Chris - hope the soup turns out great.

Trudy - hope you have a wonderful hike. It might be a good day for it, not too sunny and hot but not cold either.

Nancy - have fun tonight. Sorry your hubs is still sick. Glad the wedding album is a winner!

Kat - gourmet hotdogs? I love hotdogs and would eat them everyday if I could. No gourmet palate here LOL. Give me hotdogs and beans and I'm happy :)

The dogs are in the yard playing so I'd better get some work done before they come to interrupt me again. Have a wonderful day, everyone! Here's a pic of Ava from last night, isn't she adorable? All 110 lbs of her LOL.
