Of course, I started to type April instead of May ;) But yes!! It's May- woo hoo! I even had a chance to update my avatar for spring.

Looks to be a lovely day here and perfect weather for a field trip day at work. It's with third graders and I'll be helping in the stream this morning and an observational hike in the afternoon.

I got so much done yesterday but again. you'd never know by looking at the house. It's still quite a disaster. The shortbreads are done and I teased Gary he isn't allowed to eat them until his birthday (Friday). I had to retract that because he ran to Home Depot to pick up a piece of trim for the hallway and came home with cedar planks to redo my raised garden. That was what I asked for for my birthday (end of June) and since he put that together already... guess he can have his cookies too :D

I have to be out of here at 7.30-ish so I will post this, do some quick personals, and then get ready to go.

HAGD!

@JeanneMN If I had a dollar for every LO I trashed and started over, I'd be able to buy the entire Oscraps store LOL! Glad that it helped you to start fresh and enjoy the process. Some LOs just fight you.
I *love* that you are enjoying scrapping again, it feels so good to be creative. :lovey3:
Did you get to walk in the garden yesterday? That always recharges me too. Even while dodging "business." Your pond sounds just amazing- you are right, it's a complete ecosystem. I would love to see some pictures when you get a chance.

I can't believe I didn't mention this already but we had a bear in the yard yesterday!! So happy to see it! We went a few years with only getting a glimpse once or twice. I got a couple of pics through the window screen and I need to be really careful letting the dogs outside. Speaking of which-- W needs to go.

J didn't want to go so I wonder if I can finish this before she bugs me again :thinking2:

@Terri M I am very sorry to hear about your dad. It had to be a very stressful time and thank goodness, you could draw on your experience and talent to pull the service together. Following that with a trip to Disney had to be both wonderful to see the the kids bouncing around the parks and physically/mentally exhausting.

@taxed4ever HI stranger! :hug4:
Are you able to see that tiny, flickering light at the end of the tunnel with the move? I am proud of your ILs, they seem to be feeling very positive about the new and the purging. So sorry that the weather was awful at the garage sale. You know I feel your Raynaud's pain.
LOL-- yup, almost as old as Me/Moses. You are Moses's younger sister.
It will be awesome having you back with us again!

@BrightEyes Glad that the wind forced you to rest another day. You know what I am gonna say.. everyone can say it with
me: Don't push yourself!
DSD must always be around Gary's b-day and maybe that's why I never participate or remember when it comes up.
That's so funny that you remembered Caitlyn and the butter in her waistband-- I was thinking about that yesterday as well :floorlaugh:

@AK_Tracy Is CMT related to MS? Is there any treatment for it? (sorry if I am being nosy, please don't feel you have to answer. Having dealt with Lyme for all 4 of my family, I try to be aware of invisible illnesses. But feel free to tell me to shut up and mind my own business if I ask too many questions). *gentle hugs*
I bet you know about Spoon Theory? I lived that for years and years-- built-in recovery days

@mimes1 I know this sounds trivial and I don't mean it that way, but I'm so glad that so many of the SGs are here. Still can't imagine losing my digi-home :( I would have been refreshing and refreshing the site until the last minute too.

@vickyday Oh no, what terrible news about Carolyn. She has a great attitude and I and sending good thoughts to her and her family-- and you too!

I hope I didn't miss anyone but it is time for me to finish getting dressed and sunscreened. *grumbles* I wish they had the baseball caps, that would me so much time getting ready. De-knotting my hair while not frizzing out the curls is next to impossible.
Oh well! ;)

I hate de-knotting my hair because of the frizzing out of the curls! What do you do to get the curl back without totally re-washing and starting over? Inquiring minds need to know! ;)

Good morning ladies!
Looks to be another beautiful day here in NC!
I have been so busy lately that today is going to be a pj day!
I bought a turkey last November when they were on sale for like $0.29/lb. Today the bird is getting cooked, per DH's request! He is wanting some turkey salad! His every wish (almost) is my command! ;). I don't deny him too much since he allows me to stay home when our finances tell us it would help if I were working! It would allow us more bike trips! ;)

Speaking of the bike, :motorcycle:we had to put the Goldwing in the shop for new brakes. They were grinding metal to metal! An eerie sound that makes my skin crawl! So they will check the fluids and all that good stuff while they have it. Honestly, I thought we would have it back by now, so they must've had to order the brake pads or whatever.

Not much else going on here. I did finally get the duplicate pictures from our trip deleted. :banghead:Including all of the video I took that still left me with 43GB of pictures and videos! YIKES! Most of that is video. Not sure how I'm going to share all of those pictures and videos with the other girls from the trip. Any suggestions?

OK. I want to get some scrapping done, so here's to everyone having a lovely day! :hug4: :bye2:

I am moving at a snail's pace this morning. Had some kind of nightmare in the early hours of the morning and woke myself up trying to scream then fell back asleep immediately. Woke up later with all the muscles tense and sore. Think this is going to be a PJ day and sitting on the chair massager to ease them. Haven't had a nightmare like that in years so no telling what triggered it. UGH!!

DD#3 came over yesterday morning and spent the whole day with me. It was so nice to just sit back with coffee and visit. I got her to trim the back hair line... as it was a bit too long. I like the length on the rest of the hair except for the back hair line. It is much better now. The hair 'horns' are not sticking out behind my ears any more!! :rotfl: She is going to get one of her sons to come down and check out the treadmill I have in the garage to see if works. It was DH's and it hasn't been used since 2016. Her oldest may want it and if not, they are going to have a garage sale some time later on this month and could sell it for me. I also have several lawn tools (lawn edger and others) that I don't need since the yard is xeriscape with rocks - no grass. Time to get rid of them. DD said she would try to get one of the sons to come down and spray the weeds for me... and being smart - I said "Yes" and thank you to her.

I need to check out the new May challenges then see what is going on with the DSD sales in the next couple of days. I have one LO I need to get done for it.

Ask me anything. I will happily answer. This was a huge family secret for so long, I have it but didn't know, my first born had it but I didn't know. My mom wouldn't talk about it so I had no idea. Was my third child who was the worst the fastest and a doctor said hey I think CMT and when I asked my mom it all came out that yea she knew and my family line had been studied back 9 generations!!! All the way back to Robert Louis Stevenson. So cool piece of history that means nothing but still cool. So yes, it was a secret which lead to my oldest not getting help sooner then he could have. So please ask. I love sharing and tend to overwhelm people because it feels helpless and they want to help. No, this is not fixable and there isn't "treatment" They label is under MS but its not the same. They have some similarities but mine is all about the nerve highway. The "treatment" for us at the moment is PT to keep the muscles stretched so they dont shrink up, build muscle as you can, move move move. The moment you stop moving and things die off faster you loose it for good. My three boys, their legs are bone covered in skin. Its so sad to see young men with bone and skin for legs. They just have the hardest time trying to build muscle that they dont try. They still move and do stretches. My oldest is in AFO (Ankle foot orthotics) to keep his foot drop under control and stop the ankle rolling. Muscle cramps in the calves is so normal and so painful. Usually while sleeping. It has been waking me up at night since I was 19, over 30 years. And yes, I know the spoon theory. :heartpumppink: One reason I have a schedule is to keep my spoons safe and effective. Sunday is busy mornings with church so I dont leave my house Monday. But I also clean it that day so I tend to keep Tuesday free to recover too. Wednesday is usually a super busy (school year) time so Thursday is a dont bug me I'm on the couch day. I'm trying to show my boys that its okay to rest when you need to as long as you dont use CMT as an excuse. Then its not okay to rest. Okay yeah as you can see, ask and I will reply LOL. God doesn't make mistakes. I am here to experience this, learn, teach and educate as many as I can. While my mom was ashamed and wound't talk about this (I went through huge anger issues) I am the opposite. Lets talk about this common unknown disease and make it common.

What a fun gif. I love that you ride a Goldwing. My dad had one for years and years. it was always special when I got to ride with him. Cant wait to see layouts featuring your Goldwing.

I've been looking and so far discovered that
- They actually have details on the challenge threads themselves; I don't have to guess, and
- There are 3 pages of freebies in the Oscraps store -- which gives me a leg up on not having to use the same few collections on all my layouts and still meet the 80% requirement, and even
- One of the challenges gives you the free template to start with.

I will try to get one up today, before tomorrow I may spend all day getting ready for our bike trip. But no promises!

Good morning ladies. I'm off to a doctor's visit this afternoon. I'm curious to hear how my lab work is, it's been awhile since I had it done. I'm attending a zoom mtg tonight which should be interesting, it is all about bird banding and what kind of info they acquire from it, also about bird migration thru Alberta.

Our snow is melting fast, with temps in the high 50's and 60's, it won't stick around long. We have rain coming for a few days next week, so things will be muddy for a few days.

I have one more Mon night mahjong lesson and then I'll be playing every Thurs afternoon with the local team. So my new schedule looks like game days Tues and Thurs, with Mon night bingo and Thurs night game night at the legion. Wed birding will finish up mid June and then I'll just have the Fri and occasional wkend bird/nature outing to go to. Add into that mix a monthly pub night, ladies nighttime meet-up, ladies luncheon and my mexican train Sun group...life will be fun but busy.

I made homemade hummus yesterday and it was so easy! I added in cumin and garlic and next time I think I'll add in some smoky garlic and paprika.

For dinner tonight I'll make a bowl with chicken TVP, rice, veggies and greens with some parmesan airfried bread.

@taxed4ever Enjoy your hike today Trudy.

I'm going to go look at the challenges for the month, get some CT work done and get on with my day. BFN

Yes, isn't it wonderful. I love the posts that say exactly what needs to be done and the freebies are so wonderful. If you look at last month, I bought one kit, a winter one, and all seven layouts were done with that one kit. LOL I totally understand the feeling of limited options as were just starting out. Soon we will have a surplus of options. And Aimee being in the store now opens up a bunch more kits for me to use.

Good morning. We had bad thunderstorms last night. I can't sleep when we have all that thunder and lightning so I had a bad night's sleep. Then the cat jumped on me about three am - I knew he was hiding under the bed, but he wouldn't come out. I had to get up and take him out because he won't leave me alone. He likes to get right in my face and then he wants to snuggle. Not at 3 am, buddy.

Trudy @taxed4ever , it's so good go see you in here. Glad things are moving right along and enjoy your hike today. I'm sure it's much needed. Kay @BrightEyes how frightening to have a nightmare. I hate when I have them. Glad you had a nice visit with DD3 and that they're taking the treadmill.

Chris @faerywings I had to laugh about you finding a twig and a hairpin in your hair. Our hair is a real catch all, that's for sure. I only brush mine right before I wash it - otherwise, all the curl turns to frizz. We dont have superb water pressure as you know, so I wash mine in my kitchen sink. It's big and doesn't have a separate section in it. It's one of those farmhouse sinks. That's the faucett that gets the best water pressure, so it works out for me. Have fun with your third graders today.

Tracy @AK_Tracy and Terri @Terri M things are pretty organized here, especially the challenges. And yes, there are lots of free goodies in the store. That's a good place to start. We're happy to have you, Terri.

Vicky @vickyday good job at getting your dupes deleted. I need to do the same thing.

Adrienne and I are going to run errands today after she's done at work. Ava might go with us. That's about it for me today excet checking out the May challenges.

HAGD everybody and waving to all,
XOXO

I have been in a weird space since coming home from Wendover. I can't seem schedule myself well anymore and I'm dropping balls. It just seems like the day goes and I look back and see what I've done and it's never finishing what I planned. I need to work on that this month.

To top that all off, I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and I have to go on a CPAP machine. It just came yesterday so I have to call them to set it up. When I did my sleep test, I could barely sleep at ALL with just the nose cannula and the O2 wire. How am I going to sleep with a hose, a full face mask, and on my back if I could barely do those things?? I know it's important, and I know I need to - but darnit I'm mad about it. It feels embarrassing. Like the fat girl needs the old lady snoring machine. I'm not mentally aging well sometimes.

Melissa is enjoying her job and she does two things at the store now - the customer service desk and the Drive up and Go grocery. It's wonderful to see her grow up and be more responsible.

I just got a "design your own program" from the gym and man, that man wants me to do stuff this body just isn't ready for. I'm going to ease into it.

My foray into healthy eating and cooking has led me to something I never thought I'd eat: Hummus. I get a roasted garlic hummus and use it as a veggie dipper and it's so yummy!!! I also learned that there are many ways to cook rather than fry veggies. I'm still a carnivore to the core, but veggies are getting more of a play in my life.

I have a blood test/labs in two weeks and we will see how my A1C, cholesterol, and triglycerides are doing. I'm hoping for a really good report!!

It is the sweet spot here in Vegas, so I'm really getting in my walks outside before it becomes an inferno. Today has a slight breeze and 75 degrees! Lovin' it!

My house is a disaster as Melissa had 4 friends over for the weekend to go to a Level Up convention (cosplay) and it was nuts. I'm just now finding my floor and living room again.
