It's May and I am entering into Crazy Season! The next 2 months are packed full for me and my family. I better take some deep breaths and stock up on coffee. ;)
I guess it will all balance out since I did next to nothing for the last 2 months.
I had a strange experience at Shop Rite yesterday. Caitlyn called me on my cell phone and when I went to answer it, I got disconnected. She calls back and asks where I am, I tell her and then she hangs up on me. Hmph. As I am redialing her, she pops around the corner of the aisle. I had forgotten that she was only in class for a couple of hours. She was buying Cheez-its and wanted to surprise me. And she did. So much so, that I forgot to buy the loaf of bread that was next on my list. hehe.

It warmed up just enough in the afternoon that I went out for a half hour and cleared the leaves off of my lavender and sage plants. They aren't looking so good. The sage is starting to get very woody and I don' t know if cutting it back will help or kill it. Does anyone have experience with that?

I am cleaning this morning and then have some errands to run in the afternoon. I have to catch up on some Oscraps work, I think I am the worst Cheery O ever. At least at this moment... I had a good run in the past.

Have a fabulous day!

Kay- what a mess with the PSE issues! Was the tech able to figure out why and/or how the permissions changed like that? I think that is a great idea about keeping the computer in sleep mode for now. Gary had an issue that every time he shut his down, he would lose audio which made it really hard for us to watch shows on CBS.com or such. Hope you had a nice visit with the kids.

Trudy- you know I won't be the one complaining about it being too hot. Maybe too humid when my hair goes *POOF* The paintings look amazing, themselves as well as all hung with name tags! I am so darn proud of you!
Getting a commission from your BIL- nice!!
Hope that your oven install was perfect. What will you cook first?

BRB, gotta let the dogs out
*grumbles* Jaida dances around to be let outside, but won't walk out of the door unless W is with her. She is sleeping on the couch and doesn't want to move. Why do I have the *strangest* dogs!?

Nancy- This weather is the pits!! Poor Luther and his ear. Thank goodness he is such a good dog.
How sad about the boy who died. 17 years olds are on a provisional license and aren't allowed to drive between midnight and 6 am (or something close to that) but I don't think that they need to have another adult once they have their lic. I guess that the law helps to an extent, but can't prevent everything :(

Jean- I swear that computers/internet know when we are under pressure to finish a book on time. I *curse* at Shutterfly for that hahaha!!! But that is a great deal so I see why you worked on it so hard. I am sure that they will appreciate it very much.
Thank you all so much for the support about my weight. I am really unhappy with myself but as long as I am not acting on it, I will be ok. Not where I should be, but ok. I am too old and tired to be obsessing over calories!

good morning - went out to dinner with my girlfriend and her daughter. So fun! Her daughter is so feisty and confident. I really would have wanted a daughter just like her! Came home a did a quick walk with Luther. It was dusk and cool but no wind so it was a lovely time to walk. Then watched two hockey games and luckily none went to OT. They were great games. Tonight I have two more games. Fun to be scrapping while watching the games.

Chris that is pretty funny about Cait surprising you at the grocery store. I cant believe it is May 1. I think you are a wonderful Cherry-O you are doing this every day! I remember this is your busy time. You will have fun! And I am so tired of this weather. I need sun and heat!

Trudy again those photos are beautiful and I love seeing them on the walls. Sorry about the Bruins. What is going on with Marchand? Stupid penalty and then the punch to the back of the head of the Columbus player while he is on his knees. Why does he revert to these antics? Oh well. Hope you have a good day for a hike.

Kay glad you got the problem with PSE figured out. I don't think I even knew there was a permission status somewhere in the program. I think letting your computer just sleep makes sense.

Jean I know what you mean about slow speeds. My son texted that the guy who's place they are watching does not have wifi. LOL I don't think he thought that was possible and also not cable TV. Glad you got it done and you can rest now. I am sure they will love the book!

Have a great day all!

Morning, gals. Welcome to the Merry Month of May.... LOL .. Yeah - everytime I think of May, I hear that song from Camelot playing in my mind! Feeling very relieved this AM... my PSE19 is still accessible on the computer! YEA!!! No one is sure what caused the access problems but I have heard rumors that the latest up-date on Windows caused some weird problems with Elements. I was going to put my computer in sleep mode but guess what.... sleep mode is no longer accessible! Did some research on it and it should be there - but it is not!!! Guess that is another effect from the latest and "greatest"!!!

Realized that I was a slacker CheeryO's on gallery comments last month. Then remembered that I had been sick off and on for 3 weeks in April. I was lucky to get the LOs done that I did. How quickly the mind forgets!!!

I am miffed at a landscaping company.... they came over 4 weeks ago and promised me an estimate the next day - to clean up the yard and check the drip system heads, etc... plus replace a tree. So far they have not come through even tho I have called them several times!!! Problem is that not many companies want to clean up xeriscaped yards. I was spoiled having my SiL#3 doing it for me - and now with his back issues he can't do it.

Chris, how neat that Cait surprised you like that. No wonder you forgot to get the bread! Hope your flowers survived and will do okay. Yes, I think you can cut the woody stalks on the sage back and it will recover.

Waving hi to all... need to get my shower as DD#1 might be over in about 30 minutes. Have a great day...

Morning ladies and Happy first day of May!! It is a lovely sunny morning, but I woke up with a horrible headache and not sure if it is allergies or what?? My sinuses are all plugged up and I feel achy all over. So I think the hike is out for today :mmph: It is a gorgeous hike too, one that I have done before. Mesachie Mountain where the views are just stunning at the top. Oh well I am sure I will get to do it again one day. I have taken some sinutab and tylenol so hopefully I will be feeling better later on today. I could feel something was going on with my head last night before going to bed, so I sure hope this doesn't last too long!! My new oven came yesterday at around 2:30 and the guys were great and carried it up my staircase and into the kitchen. DH got it all installed right after the hockey game. Which the Bruins LOST!!! Oh well. So today I think the first thing that I will bake will be some mini banana loaves for my DH's lunches that he takes to work. If I could just find the instruction manual for the oven LOL!! Not sure WTH my Gary did with it as he was reading it right before I headed off to bed last night. Guess I will have to call him later to find out where it is :noidea:

Chris - Thanks for the nice compliments on my paintings! I hope that someone else will eventually like them too LOL. Wish I could give you advice on your sage, but I have never attempted growing much in the way of herbs. You do have the craziest dogs :becky: funny that one won't go outside without the other LOL. You are not the worst CheeryO ever I think that job belongs to me this month!! I will try to be here more this month though. I know that the months of July and August will be a write off if all the kids and grandkids come home this summer again.

Nancy - How great that you had such a fun time with your friend and her daughter! The daughter sounds like she is a lovely woman! Yes that darn Marchand!! I think he has some anger management issues!! Stupid penalty and he lost the game for us! We were not impressed!! How on earth do you scrap and watch hockey at the same time?? I could never do that LOL. Sure hope that your weather improves soon! Sounds like Ottawa is in for a ton more rain, they already have so much flooding!

Kay - Glad your tech guy could get your PSE up and running again. Maybe you should shut off your auto updates for your windows?? Sure hope you are done with these problems!!

Jean - How wonderful that you got the book all finished! It will be such a great gift for your sister-in-law!! Good idea to go to where the internet speed was better for you! Thank you for the nice comment on my paintings! You are so sweet!

Ok I really need to get rid of this headache and will need to get off this computer for a bit to do that. Have a great day everyone!

We get warm today, it's 76* but cloudy. Maybe I can get out a bit. It will be cooling off after today though. I have lots of chores needing doing but I just want to go out or work on a drawing. Try to make it a combination of things.

Chris, you go from slow mode to warp speed now I think. It'll be a great two months but you'll stress over things along the way as usual probably. But then you've got little things to break it up like the crazy dogs and Cait surprising you in the store. No advice on the sage as have never grown it.

Nancy, I too wonder how you can watch hockey and scrap at the same time but know you've been doing it for a long time. We saw some of the Bruins game but mostly were watching the Indians on the next screen (looking like the team they should be.) How great your friend's daughter is so super.

Kay, how strange that sleep mode is not there for you. Something else for you to investigate I guess. My experience with service companies in New Mexico was down in Carlsbad at my parents' house, but when they didn't actually want to do the work, they never said so, just didn't return calls, etc. Maybe that's what you've encountered. Hope you get someone to do the work.

Trudy, I hope your headache is gone and that you haven't picked up some bug. Too bad it's keeping you from a lovely hike. Hope you find the oven manual and G didn't take it with him.

Happy May to all.

Trudy.... wish I could turn off the automatic up-dates on Windows 10 but no longer have that option unless I want to pay for the professional license. I had checked into that about a year ago when it caused my computer to crash. Am not a happy camper over some of the latest changes. Think they are trying to force everyone to buy the license to get what we used to have!!!

DD#1 and great-granddaughter came over for a visit this morning. They arrived just before I was headed to the shower. So... now it is noon and I still have to do that. GGranddaughter had cataract surgery yesterday. She has had it since was little [not the old age cataract - an unusual one] and it finally got bad enough it was interfering with her vision. So she is out of school for a couple of days while it is healing.

I need to write out checks for bills and get them in the mail. That means a trip to the Post Office and dealing with the construction zone around it. Grrrrr....

I had a lovely afternoon with my cousins and elderly aunts and uncle yesterday. Most of us are interested in our family history on my dad’s side so we brought old photo albums with us and poured over them telling stories about the homesteading in the north of Alberta.
Sure was fun hearing my 96 year old aunt tell of the hardships and strengths of our family. I put Joey into doggy daycare for the afternoon so I wouldn’t have to have him underfoot. Hubby picked him up 4 hours later and as soon as they got home Joey was sick twice. I got home a bit later and there Joey is lying on the floor looking miserable. We figured he was over anxious about being left at day care. Silly dog. I checked with the owners just in case other dogs had the same reaction but they hadn’t noticed anything unusual. A bit strange but Joey doesn’t like being left so anxiety could be the reason. He is better today.

Kay sorry to hear about your computer problems. Windows can be a pain with the constant upgrades. You didn’t need the landscaping problems on top of that.

Trudy, I am having the same sinus irritations and headaches so it is likely the pollen count. Good luck with your painting.

Chris, happy to hear you are up and going full tilt. I bet that feels great.
