CHEERY O
:smow: :twitch: :smow:

ITS NOT FAIR!!!!! Make it go away, please!!!! I don't want any more cold or snow. I need the sun., don't you all see that my sanity depends on it??????

:faint:

I had a totally crap day yesterday. I woke up with a headache/brain fog and it just went downhill with everything I did. I steam cleaned the carpets again and fought with the steam cleaner the entire time. It would start out sucking up the water perfectly fine, then it would stop. Then it would work again and then stop. For 2 1/2 hours.

After that I figured I really needed to work on my taxes. 3 hours of *that* and I was a cranky mess. The good news is I am not paying anything, the bad is that I am not getting a penny back. I wasn't really expecting anything back, being that I work off the books, but even last year I got $100 back and I put that to our medical bills. Not a lot but better than nothing. This year, I get nothing. I also got a bill for Cait's blood work-- $405. I hope that they at least tell the dr something specific.

To end my day, I took Scott driving. Gary was supposed to do it but was having a rough afternoon so I did. He is really doing good, but talk about a non-relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
Maybe one of you that have been through this before will let me know if this is typical or not. I can see he is getting more confident but also a bit more careless. He made a left turn way too fast and I ended up yelling at him that he was not going to make it. He did, but the skin of our teeth, and then turned to me and said, "See?? I made it."

ahhhhhhhh!!!!

Now for today I am off to the grocery store, hopefully early enough to miss the Bread and Milk Mob. No one seems to know exactly how much snow we are going to get. It depends on how fast the ground cools down but they are saying everything from 3-10 inches. And the Shore- more flooding, winds, beach erosion is expected. They are just NOT getting a break. Summer has to be looming very fast for them and the rest of the state's economy too. Hope this storm moves out to sea instead of whatever it might be doing up the coast.

WWW
I wish I was somewhere warm, with lots of money and alcohol.

xoxoxo

Boy I have been a rotten friend the last two morning, eh? I make Grumpy Cat look like *he* should be the Cheery O!

Laurie- It started to snow by you? Be safe if you have to go to work today. Hopefully it won't be that bad.

Phyllis- UGH! You have snow already too? Guess it really is on its way.

Trudy- ((((((((hugs)))))))))) I know it is different circumstances, but I totally know what you mean by guilt. Since both kids first contracted Lyme congenitally, Gary and I both feel guilt for that. But whether you believe in God or Fate or just simple "it is what it is," its out of our hands and we can only work to make it better. But yes, guilt and grief are a big part of that healing process for us as well as for them. Hopefully now that you know what is causing the mood (its crazy how the sub-conscious mind knows so much more than the conscious), it will be easier to release it.
Always come and cry/vent here. We love you!!!

Phyllis- I *do* remember you!! LOL Some days I feel like I don't even remember who *I* am. Or maybe it is that I am trying to forget? ;)
I am so glad that you understand my hatred of snow! I think you hate it as much as I do.
Excellent advice to Trudy, I need to take some of that for myself as well.
Your Monday Mammo lines killed me, too funny!! But even better that it wasn't the high point, sounds like you had a fun day!

Nancy- hope that your Devils get their act together soon. That was a funny dream.... I dreamed that I went to a gourmet cupcake store and the owner gave me a box of cupcakes and two coffees for $1. haha!!

Meg- how are the piggies doing today? Getting along better? Today is writing and I think that is the one that worries me the most for his HSPA. He has ahard time getting his thoughts out of his head on onto the paper and he gives up kind of quickly. I can't remmeber i he is allowed extra time for standardized testing in his IEP but I guess the teachers will know if he does.
Good luck with your diet! Any trick in the book that works is a good one :)

Stay warm and dry, East Coast O-zies. Hugs to all of you!

Ah no snow day, but a plow went by, and the road is wet. WE have a snow blower, but I would have to read the manual, so for this am's work out I am carefully shoveling snow- really just two drifts and the end of the driveway- I am taking a break and heading back out. Work never closes until after they open and it will be gone by then. As far as my knee I had a therapist check it on Friday and it appears to be a muscle issue, so I am not too worried now. It is actually clicking less since I started doing quad sets when I am watching tv. Be safe everyone-

Chris- the view you have from the passenger seat is different from the view in the drivers seat- I had the most difficult time with how close to the ditch I was, but I survived! My kids knew their driving was getting better by the look on my face and how relaxed OR NOT my hands were!

Wow I am not looking forward to the driving thing LOL, good luckChris!

We are facing a major snow storm, and it is getting scary
I called DD school, the food has not been delivered, and by the time we decided to go and pick them both up and get back home, the police announced that the road to our place is closed....

Stuck down town, with the knowledge that your kids are safe, but with no real food (the school went to buy bread and yoghurt) and not being allowed to go home is really scary...

so much wind, and snow...

....

oh my stay safe and you know that the school had the kids safety and well being as top priority.

I dunno... they said no one move until police allows ...

off to eat as we (at work) have food....

well, we're getting hammered. :smow: but at least it's PRETTY. all the trees are coated with snow. i'm expecting that there will be a power outage at some point, with tree limbs breaking and falling on wires. this is the only time i'm GLAD we have a wood stove. at least, when the power goes out, we'll still be warm! it's so funny. we're driving to D.C. this weekend, and the temps here and there will be in the high 40s and lower 50s. this storm is hopefully winter's Last Gasp....

Val, where are you? the situation sounds scary!

Laurie, sounds like this mess missed you. it's supposed to KEEP ON snowing for a while here. so a few more inches. i think we have about 7+ already.

Chris, sounds like your son drives like my daughter. she has WAAAY too much confidence and does what i call "zipping around." corners too fast, drives too fast. she had a wreck this past year that may have imbued her with some caution and maturity, though. she went zooming around a corner at night in her city neighborhood and crashed right into someone coming the other way. happily, no one was hurt. except the cars. i told her that she was going to be uninsurable if she kept this sortof thing up. she's had a few little fenderbenders, but also, she seems to have a bullseye on herself. people crash into HER all the time, too. she had a lady who was pulling out from a side street in her neighborhood drive right into the side of her car. you know, the kind of people who look one way and not the other? happily, THAT one wasn't her fault. i think boys are worse with driving. there seems to be some sort of manhood thing in play with male driving style. good luck. my advice is: put your face very close to him and SCARE him with all the things that could happen if he doesn't slow it down and embrace caution. if i were you, i'd tell him that if you keep seeing this kind of driving, he's just NOT going to drive. Mean Mommy. works every time! :becky:

Hubby took my car to work because his truck is not very snow-worthy. so, like it or not, i'm trapped at home. i doubt i'd be going out anyway. all the schools are cancelled, so the snow plows haven't arrived here yet. my road (a pretty steep hill) is snowcovered. so, i'm not going ANYWHERE. i'll probably make some nut granola (i love doing that. it makes my house smell like cinnamon all day while it's cooking.) maybe i'll fold some laundry and vacuum upstairs. a pretty low-key day. again.

enjoy whatever you try today. and don't feel you have to 'ACCOMPLISH" something. just glide, wherever possible!
(i know. easy for ME to say. just call me "Old Jobless One.")

oh... all under snow...

Phyllis, I am in Iceland :). I do hate to be trapped like you at Home... even though I am not planning to go anywhere... I like to be home because I choose to LOL

Like now being trapped at work, is not better either... LOL

Snow here too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but not as much as some of you!! We got about 3 inches....so the kids are home today....the worst of it is the wind...it's blowing like mad out there!!! The snow came last night....it was done by midnight.

Took bug to the eye doctor yesterday...poor thing, her prescription got a lot worse...as if it wasn't bad enough already. We will be patching again.

Okay...could someone tell me where my mojo went to?? I try and try to be inspired and scrap but I get nothing. My usual tricks to help are not helping.

Maybe the upcoming party will get me there!!!

Okay...need to go referee.............I think I look quite cute in the black and white stripes :pound:

good morning - Phylis that is a gorgeous photo! I am waiting for the snow to arrive. The wind is here already but no snow yet. My Devils again forgot how to play and so lost again. But I love my after game hot chocolate - makes waiting on a train platform much sweeter.

Val that is a lot of snow outside your window! hope you get home soon!

Chris I still get nervous when I ride with my son. He is a good driver too! But I just cant get comfortable LOL. He loves to sing when he drives so I guess I am not sure he is paying attention to the drivers but he always is so it is me not him.

Phylis hope there are no power outages - your wood burning stove sounds wonderful.

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning O ladies!! Wow you are all getting winter's last bash!! Well lets hope it the last bash anyway!! My day off today and MG is home with the flu  uggh, now I have to have a baby of a man to take care of today :mmph: Well I told him that my computer is where I would be most of the day, so he better not bug me!! But I think that he won't be moving too much from the couch today, perhaps to just go back to bed. I sure hope that I don't get this flu!! (what are the chances??) We are supposed to go to the theatre and see The Buddy Holly Story on Friday night, so I better not get sick!!!!

Chris - My son was waaayyy to confident when he was driving too! Like Phylis says, its a guy thing! Son still has a lead foot and goes way too fast, but I think he picked that up from driving the freeway in Toronto when they lived there. Man those drivers are nuts!! Scared the life out of me when we got picked up at the airport!! Now that he has his babies with him, he is a lot more cautious, but a very impatient driver still! Do as Phylis says and get in his face about his driving habits, no change, no car!!! Tried to teach DD to drive, but that was hopeless, she was so nervous I couldn't stand it, so I made her Dad deal with it. She ended up only ever having her Learners permit and then got sick and is not allowed to drive anymore

Laurie - Be careful shovelling all the snow, you don't want to throw your back out, or have a heart attack for goodness sake!! But I would never be able to use the snow blower either, ours was waaayyy too big and scary for me!

Val - What a worry for you!! I'm sure that the kids are being taken good care of, but still not knowing when you can all go home is not my idea of a fun time!! At least you have food where you are! By the looks of your photo you are getting hit pretty good by the storm!! Sending you warm wishes and hoping for the snow to stop for you very soon!!

Old jobless one - :becky: Wow you have lots of snow my friend! Thank goodness for the wood stove in case the power goes out! I know how much you don't like it, but on days like this it is a good thing to have for sure! Take care and enjoy the beauty of the snow on the trees, it really is very pretty!

Nana Linda - My husband was a hockey ref for years, wanna borrow one of his shirts LOL! Your poor little bug! Oh well the little sweetie has to see!! Hopefully her eyes will start to improve soon or is it possible for them to get any better? I hope so!! Isn't it always the way, when you need to get layouts done for a reason, the mojo leaves us!! Guess its something that just can't be forced, hopefully you find it hiding under your keyboard :becky:

Well better see if the sickie needs anything and then back here to get busy scrapping!! Its gonna be a fun party coming our way! Enjoy the snow day everyone, but stay safe!!

A quick update from my phone.

We are all home. Safe. The wstorm is spinning up again but now i don t care!!
Talk to you later..

Val, glad you made it home! the SUN is shining at my house now!! crazy weather.... :loco:

Trudy. EEEK!!! nothing worse than a sick man at home! how are YOU holding up? happily, i am married to the healthiest man in the world. i don't think i could stand the whining. :pout:

Nana, sorry to hear about the new glasses prescription. both my kids had eye probs. once Bug is older, she can get contacts. my kids and Hubby and i all wear gas permeable hard contacts. the hard contacts help the eye lens to keep its shape better, and there are fewer prescription changes. unfortunately, they're hell getting used to.

i'm starting to wish that i had my car back!! everything's clear now! all the school districts are probably second-guessing their decision to cancel. and all the parents are saying: WTH???

glad to see that good weather is back ... somewhere:)

I am exhaused, and eventhough I have tons of things to do before saturday, I am heading to bed... so dead tired..

night night ladies
