Good morning, lOvlies! It is starting to feel a bit more like spring. Even though it is chilly out there it isn't that deep cold in my old bones. We only have one more week of March which makes me happy. Now if my back would cooperate, I could start working in the yard. My hyacinths are about 1" above ground and I saw my crocuses blooming too. I LOOOOOOOVE this time of year. Uncovering new growth under the leaves gives me such life.
OMG! I looked at the weather forecast and it is supposed to be around 70 Thursday and Friday! Wow!!!!!!!
It was nice getting out of the house with Cait to get her vax. The funniest part was the Walgreens she had to go to is one that we would drive past all of the time. Yet when we pulled into the parking lot, we looked at each other and it was *not* where we thought it was. It was on the other side of the lot but dang if we both insisted that it would have been where we were. Was it the Mandela Effect? hehehe

Since I wasn't able to go outside, I spent a couple of hours looking at the Home Depot, Lowes, and Tractor Supply websites to get some ideas of what I want to do with the gardens this year. We need to redo the raised bed (it is 4'x4" so small but good for a few plants), and I need new barrel buckets for the morning glories on the patio. I was joking that the decaying root balls inside of them are the only things holding them together. I need a new plastic cover for the greenhouse shelving. If I want to get plants next month I have lots to do to get ready for them. Plants, oh I want plants everywhere!! Flowers and vegetables... but I also need more sun and decent soil and sadly that isn't something that I can buy from the store. I can improve the soil a bit but it is so rocky up here.

I am off to pick up my groceries this morning and then maybe back to looking at plants and garden stuff.

HAGD!!!!!!!

Kay- have you talked to your Dr about your BP? It seems like this is going on for a long time. Feel better!!

@felis Cait did fine with the vax, no issues other than a sore arm. Your kitty is beautiful in the tree. haha! Yes, fast-moving pets and messy houses. It is a good way to live. :)

@taxed4ever - Did your temps ever warm up a bit? Hope that the hummingbirds did ok! How is your yard coming along? So awesome to see some more sun! Scott cut back a bunch of vines last year and we got a tiny bit more sun, but I am going to have to ask him to do it again.
Thank you-- and everyone- liking my Age LO. Sometimes I think I am old and boring and then other times, I crack myself up. [big grin]

Looks like everyone was enjoying the day outside yesterday and not in here! Good for all of you!! Yay!
Hugs and love!

good morning - well my Devils have now won two straight games. Yea! This is such a funny NHL stat - how many goals and assets are scored and their ages but they actually keep track of this stuff. Well my Devils have the most by players under the age of 23. My team is really young but they are getting such great experience so that maybe when they get older they will be really good! Had a weird dream that PK Suban a defenseman on the team was asked to play center. LOL. Well yesterday was so stressful. Merck set up a retirement plan for health insurance administered by an outside company. You can only get the money from Merck if you use them. That is not a problem as they know their stuff. But some time last year on my account the decided I did not have insurance even though I did. The quit giving me my reimbursement and said I owed them. Well I called and they said the case was close but still on the website the numbers were not matching so I had to go through it all again. I think this time I did have the correct people to make this work. They were super helpful and I should be all the money back. I also got my second payment from the government - $64. LOL Not exactly the $1400 but I understand as my DH has been working the entire time. The weather has been gorgeous and walks have been fun. The forsythia is starting to bloom.

@faerywings Chris I am so excited to see 70 degree weather. I am so happy that the back is getting better. Congrats again for Cait and her vaccine. I am glad you had fun looking at how to spruce up your yard. Have fun.

@BrightEyes Kay hope you feel better soon. But reading, resting, and napping sounds so good.

@taxed4ever Wow you really did do a lot for your yard! My neighbors are having a tree trimmed and I am having a branch that has broken off our tree but hanging over their yard done at the same time. But unlike you all that is not something my DH or I could do.

@felis felis I love the photo of your kitty in the tree. That is awesome one last pretty snow fall.

Waving to all
Have a great day!

Morning everyone! It is cloudy and cool again today, but yesterday we got the whole back yard all cleaned up and it looks so nice again! I do need a few new perennials as a couple of my plants did not fair too well over the winter. Oh well that happens and it will be nice to go to the nursery again! We had a busy day and did not come inside until almost 4pm then it was time to get dinner prepared. The day flew by and I slept like a baby last night from all that exercise and fresh air! I slept in until 8am!!! The only other thing I managed to complete yesterday was my FIL's Birthday Card. Sadly no scrapping time, but it sure was good to be outside all day long! DH and I watched a good documentary on YouTube on the TV, it was called Big, Bad & Bobby, of course it was all about the Boston Bruins and Bobby Orr's career with them. It was very entertaining!

@faerywings - Wow sounds like your temps are climbing up there! Hooray!! Too funny that both you and Cait thought the Walgreens was in a different place LOL. Hope you find some great things to help you spruce up your yard! I love having lots of plants too, but I have run out of places for them, so only get to replace a couple of things this year. I don't bother too much with hanging baskets etc. anymore because I am usually too busy with the grands however I am not sure I will be this year or not yet. Last year we just did a couple of tall standing pots on the front porch and it was nice not have the mess on the glass from the hanging baskets I used to do all the time.

@nancyr - Wow Nancy you know you are a true hockey fan when you start dreaming about the players!!! LOL Ugh on the issues with the insurance! Seems everything is fight right!! My DH is doing our taxes today, so I am staying clear of him as he is getting stressed out because he can't seem to sign into his UFile account. Wish he was better with writing down everything, but he just doesn't get how things work on websites and hates me trying to tell him what he should be doing. No patience at all!! MEN!! He works all day on a computer at work, how can you not understand ?? Anyway it is better that I just do my own thing and leave him alone LOL.

Well I suppose another cup of coffee is in order then I will open my photoshop and get scrapping!! Have a good day everyone!

Everybody is busy, huh??? As soon as the weather turns a little warmer it's like a mass exodus. I had forgotten that delirious feeling after living in Florida for so many years. I look everyday for changes now - even the wheat grass that grows wild is changing in its appearance. I never knew that wheat grass changed. I knew ornamental grasses did, but never gave the wild wheat a thought.

Daisy and I took a long walk today - it's 63 right now, but was warmer earlier this afternoon. I'm just loving being able to not bundle up every time I go out now.

Some time, early this am, a little fairy (not faery) named Ava came and stained the last shutter. She also stained the back side of each one and clear-coated all of them. They're gorgeous and I can't wait to see what they're going to look like hung on the windows!!

I've been trying to organize my scraproom and my master bathroom closet all week. Not finished yet, but making progress.

The birthday event is in high swing, isn't it? I'm overwhelmed at the response to my "AGE" challenge!! SO much thought has been put into the layouts. I'm very touched!!

Hugs and waves all around. Group hug

We've been having warmer days and yesterday a bunch of daffodil blooms opened up. We still have a few redpolls, down to about six today. This makes 12 days they've been here. So delightful. :D I know I had things to report, but most have flown out of my head - but typing that I remember that after we put the groceries in the car Monday I looked up to see an adult Bald Eagle floating over the neighborhood. They have made such a great comeback! We remember when the state was down to about 3 nests total and not in this part of the state.

Chris, what good news about Cait and the vax. Also you getting into the spring plant frame of mind. Fingers crossed the back cooperates now.

Nancy, I agree that you've reached a new fan level to dream about a player. Better than the other dream you had for sure. Hope you're getting in some good walks with Luther and spotting some birds.

Trudy, that is wonderful to sleep so well after a day working outside. Too bad you have to avoid your MG while he battles taxes. The program on YouTube sounds fun too. Tonight we'll be watching Nature on PBS about hippos. Should be different.

Cheryl, we are all amazed with your "fairy" granddaughter. What as dynamo. The age challenge had turned out to be such a thoughtful collection. Good going.

Felis, love the cat in snow photo. Hope you enjoyed that late snow.

Time to fix dinner now, so Have a Good One, everybody.

@scrap-genie Jean, Ava is definitely a dynamo!! I asked my husband when she was here and he said he had no idea. It had to be early before he even got up. I'm blown away by the response to my "AGE" challenge!!!

How exciting that your flowers are bursting forth!!! Spring is THE best!!!

Good morning girls!
I'm so excited! As I had awful day, one of these when you should use the whole willpower to drag during the tasks! And I hadn't other option then to go to the bed very early and just hide there! Isn't its magical how much a short sleep can change the mood?! I woke up restarted, made my makeup and took a short photo session to choose from for The age is just a number challenge. I laughed so much, most of the time I was laugh as it's difficult (and silly) to modeling and be your photographer at the same time. Thank you, Cheryl! Then I sit and made this page and even was able to redo at the right way the white space challenge. Or at least I think I made it right.
I'll highly appreciate if some of you, can just check it and tells me is it white space!

Chris, I'm so happy that Cait is filling as it's expected after the vax! Love to hear you talking about gardening! Do you familiar with no dig gardening? Looks like it's trendy now and sounds exactly as for your kind of soil! Carla was making 'cages' on IG to prevent from bugs and I was take a note to tell dad as we have to prevent from cat's p** and was thinking of you, and the wild creatures that was stole your veggies last year lol, squirrel, chipmunk, what was they? I know it was something like that.

Nancy, oh, darn, to have to deal with these procedures and phone calls for the health insurance, this is really nasty! I'm happy that everything ended well!

Trudy, this sounds as a really awesome day: time at the yard and then inspiring movie!

Cheryl, how nice that you was able to enjoy long walks and watching the wild flora! I love you challenge, it brings me so much good memories!

Jean, So lovely to see so many birds around!
Hehe, I guess this is the exact reason why you don't want to get cat, but I can assure you that Hero is not chasing birds! I was supervising him very closely! He is just oddo cat that love to take snow down of the trees, LOL! He play a lot at snow, I really love him, as now he is my snow buddy!

@felis, Felis, my sweet, it looks like white space to me. Of course, you have to understand that I SUCK at white space layouts, so it might be good if some of our other OOOOO's chime in here. ROTFLMBO

I get so many laughs from all you girls and I'm so happy that you didn't crawl in bed and stay there. See, it pays to get up sometimes. Just put one foot in front of the other - I tell myself that all the time. Hahahaha - honestly, it works and sometimes that's all that starts my day.

I've got to tell you a funny waking-up-in-the- morning story. Saturday, early in the morning, Ava comes in and brings Daisy with her - Daisy had been out in the living room. Ava needs my credit card to go to buy all the lumber for our shutters. While she's looking for my purse (mind you, I'm only barely awake), my 50 pound Daisy jumps right on top of me. Yikes! I sleep in my airpods (they're wireless earbuds) and I hear Daisy slobbering and chewing on something. She is slobbering around on one of my airpods that had fallen out of my ear. Those things are VERY expensive and thankfully, I rescued it from her mouth. As soon as I realized what she had, I gave her the command "Drop It!". That could have been a very expensive snack. Did I make you laugh?????

Think of me when you wake up next. At least you won't have a 50 pound dog jump right on top of you.

Hugs
