Happy St. Patrick's Day! How fun to celebrate something "different" from the same every day stuff. :/
Yeah, I am still extremely bored with life and sadly, I have absolutely *no* motivation to do anything about it. I am tired of being home, tired of being cold, tired of being lazy. (Tired of complaining day in and day out but can't seem to stop)

I was done with just about everything that needed to be done by noon yesterday. We are 99% done with Cait's taxes. They were actually easier than Scott's. Poor kid owes this year and is aggravated by the concept of taxes. @taxed4ever - can you relate? hahaha!!! I am really proud of her, though. She really did well with her Etsy shop. In fact, it might be a good idea for her to put some $ aside for next year. I decided to go for it and made an appt with the dentist the first week of April. Scott starts work on April 15 and I have no clue how his pay schedule is going to be so if anything expensive needs to get done I will have to get right on that.

I am going to be busy this morning, but again, by noon most of my stuff will be done. I have to get the corned beef in the crockpot. Gary and Scott will eat that up and I will have a tiny bit. Can't have too much or my stomach will not be happy trying to digest it. Then I have to go to the store to pick up my groceries and on the way home I m hoping to time it just right to go and pick up up the Outlander DVS from the library on my way home. Then... That's it.

HUgs!!!

Whew, corned beef is in the crockpot and I have a couple of minutes before I need to throw in a load of laundry before I head to Shop Rite.

@felis- I am going to have to bookmark your video. I am usually here first thing in the mornings and I keep the speakers off so I tend to forget about videos that are shared once the rest of the house is awake. Just the screenshot looks hysterical!

@taxed4ever How was the hike?? Must have been fabulous getting to be with brother and SIL! Hopefully, you weren't too cold. I ran through the Gallery as best as I could to leave love on the avi's. They are all so darn cute! I will get to a few more today.

Kay- I love the purple balloons! Hope you are feeling back to normal by now!

@bcgal00 I keep telling myself that she wouldn't have that energy if she was seriously and systemically ill. I am not a vet so I can't vouch for that, but that is my feeling and I am sticking with it :D I am not surprised one bit that you forgot about the tax bills. You had truly had a horrible year xo
One of my friends taught her dog to ring a bell to go outside, we tried that with Ray and no luck there. We could probably teach that to W, she is a fast learner but she will sit and do a very specific whine/grumble when she needs to go.

@Cherylndesigns You entertain me very much! (almost as much as I entertain myself on occasion tee-hee!) But yeah, we need smilies! Ona is the *best*-- she has such a fab mind for analytical details which as I am sure you have noticed, I most definitely do not.
The Muppets are so cute and I really want to pet them. :p
I get my glasses from Zenni.com. I think it was @scrap-genie who told me about them years ago. Caitlyn gets them there too and she loves it so she can get a couple of different frames. I even got progressive lenses there(lenses and frames for $70!). I wear contacts 95% of the time, so I was able to get them without the worries of having the lines off.

@scrap-genie Look at how pretty those birds are! You sound like my family when we watch the squirrels being silly in the yard.

@nancyr Argh!!!! I am with you, those two days of nice weather makes it feel worse now. We had some sleet and freezing rain last night and there are small piles of slush/ice around the house. Pfffffftttttttt.
Seems like we are all doing the Dr. appt thing- good luck with keeping the frames for the future and lots of luck with the mammo.
We are on Medicaid and they count the entire family's income whether or not they are on the plan. Gary has Medicare because he is disabled, but his disability payments count towards the household income. Even though the kids and I have policies in our own names, we are lumped together because Gary and I can claim them as dependents because they were FT students. I have *no* idea what will happen when Scott is working because not only will he have income, I don't think we can still claim him anymore. I have dealt with Employer-Based Insurance, Individual health insurance (pre-ACA and I do not want to ever do that again, $500/month for a junk plan!), ACA Exchange insurance, Medicare for Gary, Medicaid on and off. And it all sucks! [faint smilie]
I really like the idea of doing a "theme" book rather than a chronological POV that I have been doing... I am going to toss that around in my brain a bit. Thx!

@felis Same weather here and it is depressing. Your mood sounds a lot like mine too. I am torn between wanting to get out of it or to wallow in it. Whew! Good catch with the yarn! I can't wait to see your turtles no matter what their names are :D

Better get going, still need to get that laundry started. xoxoxo

Happy St Pat's Day to all who observe it. Chris, enjoy the dinner. I only fixed corned beef once and DH and I agreed that it wasn't a meal we liked.

We missed the bullet last night - we got a bit of snow that turned into rain and didn't last too long. Temps are heading up today - 50's-60's even though the nights will still be hovering around freezing for a few more days. May be able to take off the blanket and just leave the down comforter and decorative comforter on the bed by the weekend.

In answer to why the blood pressure spiked... ever since the BP episode that put me in the hospital last spring, if my body is ill or stressed, the blood pressure goes up. That is my warning sign to take it easy and rest... and avoid anything that stresses me. As crazy as it sounds, even scrapping can raise the BP. Good news is that the BP has been down the last couple of days. Not as tired as I was .... even though I ended up napping twice yesterday - and neither of those naps were planned. Will be easing back into the routine slowly. Going to the library today to drop off books and pick up some 'On-hold-books'. Will be my 1st outing (except for picking up mail yesterday) since I got the 2nd Covid shot.

I was bummed last Sunday as the camera on the laptop kept giving me an error and wouldn't work. So, I used DH's computer with the external/add-on camera for the family chat. Tried to figure out what was wrong with the laptop camera and did a help on it but nada.... still wouldn't work. Thought I would have to take it to Geek Squad to get it fixed. Then the laptop did a Windows10 update yesterday... and that cleared up the problem and the camera was okay. I dread every Windows10 update as it seems to create problems on the non-native Windows10 computers.

Looks like the OS's Birthday bash will be going this weekend and into next week. Hope to feel well enough to participate in the challenges.

Need to get dressed and head to the library before my steam is gone. CYL

Good Morning ladies! Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all! May your blessings outnumber the Shamrock's that grow!! I had such a wonderful time on our hike yesterday! It was so nice to catch up with my Brother and his wife! We went to the Cable Bay Trail/Dodds Narrows and the sun was shining. It was a bit chilly, but we dressed for the weather and once we arrived at the Narrows we were surprised by a group of Orcas that were feeding just up from where we were sitting and having a rest. It is the first time I have seen Orca's there, it was amazing! I tried to get photos, but they were just a bit too far away from us darn it! After our hike we were all famished so we decided to head to the Crow & Gate English Pub for a bite to eat. Masked up and headed into the Pub where we were pleasantly surprised to see it was not too busy. The food was delish and I had the Bratwurst and so did my Brother while my SIL had the Beef Dip, oh so yummy!! I got home around 3pm and then had a nice hot shower, which felt great and then it was time to get DH's supper ready. I did not eat as I was still very full from our late lunch. It was the best day I have had in a long time! So nice to be out in the fresh air and get in some good exercise, with great company! It is another chilly morning on 1degree C./33F but another clear blue sky so hopefully it will warm up soon! My Gary is taking next week off and of course it looks like it will be rainy for most of the week, sure hope the weather man is wrong, we really need to get that power washing done on the back fence. Will probably start working on the fireplace update too. Today I will be busy with the Avatar challenge today, sure hope you will all join in on the fun!

@faerywings - Thanks so much for getting the commenting done on my challenge, I sure appreciate it! Love your AVI BTW! That is too bad that Cait must pay this year and yes I can certainly relate LOL. She must be doing very well with her Etsy Shop! How wonderful! Hope you enjoy your corned beef dinner, I am not a big fan of corned beef, but my Gary sure loves it! Good luck with your grocery and library pick ups today! I hope you get everything you wanted!

@BrightEyes - I am happy to hear that you are feeling much better, you were right to spend the last few days just taking care of yourself and getting lots of rest! Glad that you did not get the snow that was predicted, rain is much better, you don't have to shovel that LOL. Sure hope that you don't have any other problems with the windows update, but glad that it fixed your issue with the camera! Yes we will all be busy with the party this weekend and into next week, so I hope that you are feeling up to participating and have some fun scrapping!

@bcgal00 - How nice that you got a bit more sleep and I know just how you feel about not sleeping well anyway! I wake up so much during the night! What a great idea to get a bell for your fur baby to tell you when she needs out! Hope you manage to get your taxes done, we have that chore to finish off this weekend also!

@Cherylndesigns - I have to giggle every time I see your AVI what a perfect look on your grandson's face LOL. Glad to hear that you are not stiff and sore today, enjoy your walk with Daisy!

@scrap-genie - What a lovely page about your Redpolls! Beautiful birds and beautiful layout! Yesterday at lunch we sat near a window that had numerous bird feeders outside and there were so many lovely birds enjoying their lunch also! I thought of you as I watched them!

@nancyr - How nice to have the new glasses and yup they sure are expensive! Glad that my DH has a great plan and we end up not paying much at all. Hope that your weather warms up a bit for you, we are having a very cool spring (is it spring yet??). Who cares what the others say about your Devils as long as you are having fun watching them, that is all that matters right? Hope your Mammo goes well and boy I wish my DH loved to cook, he likes to BBQ but only when its not raining, so that doesn't happen much :) .

@felis - I just adore your AVI! I knew it belonged to you right away! Loved the video and yes its the same around here at tax time, so I just leave it all to my Gary to hunker down and get it done. I keep telling him to take it to H&R Block but he refuses to pay anyone for something that he is capable of doing  Hope that you are having nicer weather today so you can get your jobs done outside! Good for you for checking out the wool before you made a purchase that you would regret!

Well I better hit the gallery and catch up on all the new birthday avatars! So many great ones! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Just got in from the 3rd or 4th playtime outside with the dogs. I lose track LOL. My day is a constant in and out for potty breaks and playtime but it sure is more enjoyable when the sun is shining.

@faerywings I agree with you. I feel that with so much energy there can't be anything serious wrong with her now. But, until her eliminations firm up and her blood work comes back normal, I will worry. She did let me sleep aside from one potty break last night so that has improved which I also take as a good sign.

Jen took Bella to the dog park yesterday and facetimed us to show us her playing with two mini aussies. Apparently there are 4 of them that go to this park so Remi might get to meet some other aussies when she gets all her shots. That'll be fun, to see how they are interact.

@taxed4ever it was a great day for a hike. How cool to see orcas.

@BrightEyes I too hate the updates. We've had numerous problems with the updates in the last few years.

I'd better go and get some desk work done while Remi is napping. Talk later BFN.

Yesterday was wonderful. It was still chilly, but sunny. After going to the library we went to a nature center that has boardwalks into a small marsh. In March everything looks so brown and barren, but the birds made spring feel really here. Many were singing like Red-winged Blackbirds, Cardinals, Song Sparrows and more. Hawks and Turkey Vultures were overhead. The energy is so evident. Then at home we found even more redpolls, maybe 20. DH thinks they're doing a not social distance spring break. :D They're still here today though maybe not quite so many. Again sunny and a little warmer. This afternoon a genealogy group has a monthly Zoom chat (this started in the before times as we're scattered about in 2 or 3 states.)

Chris, I don't know why you have to have "accomplishments" all day every day. Sounds like you do plenty to keep the household running and since everything has hurdles for you, it's even more impressive that you get through them. Congrats on finishing the book. Nice idea to think of a new focus for next year.

Kay, sorry the stress showed up in the BP but your resting seems to do the job of bringing it down, so that's good. The visit with your sister is sure something to look forward to.

Trudy, how nice the hike with family sounds! Seeing the orcas must have been exciting, especially as not quite expected. Good luck with DH off next week. Even if it rains, you can still work on the fireplace?

Rae, glad to hear of improvement for Remi each day. Sure hoping it will all resolve for this nice pup of yours. If you get more sleep it will make it all easier too.

Nancy, sorry to hear the Devils can't seem to win. But a true fan like you will stick with them no matter. In basketball the Cavaliers are having a similar losing season. You asked about baseball, and it does feel good to know they're playing in spring training, but I can't get that excited as I won't be able to watch the games on TV. Mostly in the past I've seen them when we're out to dinner and that's not something we're going to do yet. Your dinner out though sounds both safe and fun, so maybe we can think about it. We last went out to eat on March 13th last year but got take out (corned beef & cabbage) on the 17th and once after that. Tonight we're possibly going to get take out again.

Felis, so sorry for your troubles with the frames for the glasses. Someone said the frames are where they make money and I sure think that's true. Hope your mood and your weather match up soon so you can enjoy. Looking forward to seeing the turtles. And I think your avi is not only super but perfect for you.

Cheryl, the dogs sure look cuddly. But wow are they are different sizes. Hope you can find an eye doc in Tulsa. That is a bummer to have to go there for an appt though. I'm pretty sure my BiL's eye doc retired and can't remember what he has said about the new one. He has serious eye conditions, so a very critical doc for him.

Have a good one, everybody!

Quick in and out. Went to the library and did a quick in and out there and back home. Ate some lunch and I am worn out... so guess I am not over the side-effects. The BP was up a bit when I got home so guess it is back to resting and staying down for a few more days. :(

Hello my lovelies,

Sorry I'm so late today - I COULD be later, right???

@faerywings I crack myself up too. We'd make a good pair, wouldn't we? All we'd do is laugh. I love to laugh - it's just about my favorite thing to do. My whole whacky family laughs about everything. It's how we've gotten through some tough times, too. We've been known to laugh inappropriately at times.

I'm so sorry you have such a "cluster" over medical insurance. My eyes roll back in my head *insert eye rolling emoji* whenever I start trying to figure all of that out. Same thing with income taxes. Can I claim "Serious Eye Rolling Syndrome" for not doing my taxes? Hubby does them - I could never do it. However, I'm SO proud of my "helpless" youngest dd - she did her own taxes!! First time EVUH! She was SO proud of herself and I'm SO proud of her, too!! I guess if she can do them, I could.

@scrap-genie Jean, thankfully the little dog isn't ours. She's our granddog. She just loves to come up here and play with Daisy and Daisy mopes around now if Lila doesn't come over. Haha I was hesitant to move out here because of their lack of doctors. We have found a great family doctor, however, and he seems to know everybody and their specialties. The medical field is growing here and we think the doctors are coming, they're just not here yet. You just get spoiled when you live in a metro area. I have about 3 months to find an eye specialist and we're going to start with an optometrist and go from there. I need new glasses anyway. My condition isn't "critical" like your BIL's sounds like it is. They just need to"keep an eye" on it - pun intended.

I forgot this was St. Patty's Day. That's not a big deal to us but it is to lots of people. My BIL is from Ireland and has a very strong brogue. This is HIS day!! There will be lots of beer flowing into him tonight. Of course, there's a lot of beer flowing into him all the time, so tonight won't be a whole lot different.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a wonderful day it must have been!! I'm SO happy for you!! Top O The Morning to ya. I have to giggle whenever I see my avvie, Asher, too. I sent it to him and my dd and she said it actually looked like he was saying those words.

Kay @BrightEyes I'm glad you got the camera situation figured out. Thanks for explaining the BP problem. I figured that stress had something to do with it. Stress is such a bad thing! It's so hard to control too, if you're suseptibal to is - I am, too, so I know of which i speak. I ate it when doctors/people say "well, just relax". Grrrrrrr. I'm TRYING to!!!

Felis @felis I need to check out your avvie. it's not on this page - I'm sure it's cute.

I gotta run and get ready for the fam to come over. I'm on such a high today! I had ALL of my windows open and the breeze was just exhilarating!!! It doesn't take much to entertain me. Do you know how long it's been since I've been able to throw all of my windows open? It's 75 today! In Florida, it was almost always too hot and we always had holes in the screens or didn't have any and if I left my lanai doors open, we had bugs and occasionally lizards and I was always fearful of a snake sneaking in. I haven't been able to do this since we lived in Michigan.

Happy Monday and group hugs and waves.
