Weather Update from NJ: It is currently 75* 77% humidity at 7 am. I am sure that is *nothing* compared to the PNW, I cannot imagine how brutal all of that is. Our temps are slightly higher than usual but not extreme.

I hate rereading what I wrote the day before, I have so many typos it makes me bonkers. I hope that all of you understand what I am saying and I can only imagine what it is like for @felis who has to run it through Translate. Sorry!
I cleaned for my friend who is on vacation so I am doubling up- two days for her this week. I watered all of my plants when I got home and then took a nice cool shower. The worst part of the humidity is how impossible it is to dry off afterward. You could stand there for an hour and still be soaking wet.
Not much else happened, I worked on a LO for a July challenge and then made tomato and mozzarella linguine for dinner. Watched some TV with Gary afterward. We finished The Underground Railroad (heartbreaking and hopeful) and one from the new season of Bosch. There is supposed to be a spin-off after this last season and my guess is that it will be with his DD, Maddie.

I am off to food shop this morning and that not a clue what else. Caitlyn brought down another puzzle to do so maybe that.
HAGD!

@nancyr Does your house seem quiet with no one home with you? I can't imagine! I was home alone for 10 minutes yesterday and it felt wonderful.
Hope that the rash is not bugging your DH too much. I somehow kneeled in poison ivy and have blisters only on my knees. The BBQ sounds like it was a lot of fun (minus the meat LOL)
How did you do shopping, I need to pump myself up to get ready for that. I am continuing to wear my mask in big stores. The Delta variant has me slightly concerned- but mostly for Scott. He got the J&J vax and they don't seem to be saying much about the effectiveness of that one ag. Delta. So for now, I am back to the overprotective mindset.
Hope that Luther is holding up with the heat ok. My dogs were acting so strange yesterday, I even asked W if the heat was cooking her brain. I got no reply.

Kay- Hehe, I am laughing that you made meatloaf- we are supposed to get much cooler temps this weekend and I was wondering what I would cook in the oven too. how nice that you all had a video chat together. Which DD moved recently? #2? Is the family all settled in?
Your frog story reminded me of one when Scott was maybe three yo- he was in the bathroom and started shrieking, I run in and he is babbling about daddy longlegs on his back. I look at his back and it was just some tangled hair of Gary's that must have been floating in the air. To make a joke of it we called it a Daddy Long Hair.
How often do you spray the plants with that mix? Every day?

@tanteva I have not seen Simplette's new kit but if I am gonna gain 12 lbs I am not sure I should hahaha!!!!!
Hope that things are less chaotic for you.

@bcgal00 utterly brutal temps! I was worried about my girls' paws on the driveway too but we are nowhere near as hot as you are. Gary walked out for a second barefoot and I basically yelled at him-- he has diabetic neuropathy in his feet, what was he thinking???
I hope that you were able to get caught up on work so you can enjoy the holiday tomorrow.

@Cherylndesigns You had a productive day on the computer, good for you. I really need to do the same. When I got this new computer, I just popped the old HD into this new one so I did;t need to worry about transferring files. That was really good in some ways but it didn't force me to clean any of it up either. How was the chicken salad? It sounds really good other than the raisins (ick).

Eva-- *pours you more coffee* Here-- you need this more than I do... hope your day gets better

Finally we have a decent day where one can breathe. It has been hot as Hades here with temps hovering around
38C-40C (100-104F ) ( No AC just fans. ) This is not normal for us at all. Low 30's is considered hot here. The worst of it is that it didn't cool down at night so the was little relief. I have been up at before 6am for the last little while just to get my scrapping commitments done. Wha wha, wha, poor me.

Morning, gals.. Ended up sleeping in until 8:20 AM. Usually up by 6 - 6:30. Guess the cool nights helped me sleep better. It has been so cool I haven't had the fans on. We had rain showers off and on all yesterday and some last night. So nice to finally be getting rain, I went off to Lowe's yesterday and bought 2 ceiling fans plus installations. The Installations were on sale for $39 off for each. Got home and looked at my bill as I thought it was higher than it should be. Turns out the cashier scanned the fans and then the installation paperwork... which also had the fans on it. So I got charged for the fans twice. So had to make another trip back over there to get a refund on the over charge. Waiting for the installers to call and set up the day/time to get them put in. One is going into my craft room and one into the office.

Kythe/Karen, glad to see you popping in. So sorry you have been dealing with such brutal temps and no A/C. And no cooling down at night makes it even worse.

Chris, I hear you about the humidity so high you can't get dry after a shower. When we lived in Long Island, Norfolk, Florida and Corpus Christi it was the same. I would go through a bottle of body powder every couple of weeks. Couldn't get clothes on without the powder to help keep the clothes from sticking to the body. So sorry to hear about your brush with poison ivy. As to how to apply the mixture on plants... I would spray it on making sure to get the underside of the leaves... then respray again about a week or so later. Usually that would kill them with 2-3 treatments. I had a spray jar attached to the hose that I would use. I am still wearing my mask when I go to stores... even though my state is now fully opened again. I got the Pfizer vaccine so think it should be effective against the Delta variant.

As long as I am in the sorting/organizing mood, I should go ahead and get the office straightened out. Have bins of stuff that need to be moved to the garage for storage. But, I need to make room for them by combining years of paperwork together. Should get it done while it is still cool out in the garage.

Off to get my shower and decide what to do today. Glad to see the last day of June pass by.

Temps have cooled off a bit so much nicer to get out this morning with the dogs. We survived the heatwave...whew. Busy day with work as tomorrow is a holiday for us so I have to make sure all my work and invoice is sent in by tonight. Then tomorrow I've got a day to hang out with the dogs, scrap and run some errands now that things have cooled off a bit.

@faerywings yikes...Gary needs to be careful of his feet. We have to watch B too for foot injuries/problems. It's weird but she doesn't seem to realize temps and appropriate clothing. She kept trying to pile on the clothes during the heatwave, not realizing that less clothes means feeling less hot in her apartment. She also didn't know to turn the fan on either but Jen was good about checking everything and making her as comfortable as possible.

I'm getting more coffee and getting to work. Have a great day everyone.

Hello lovelies.

Chris @faerywings our chicken salad was beyond delicious! I'll take the raisins out when you come. Hahaha I love raisins and they added sweetness. We had apples and grapes in it, too. It was a big hit. Our sandwiches were so huge that they were hard to eat. Good news - we have enough left over for today! I'm going to fix me a sandwich in awhile. Adrienne was going to fix fried green tomatoes but wasn't in the mood and we didn't need them anyway. We had plenty of sides and nobody is shy about getting what they want if it's not out. We're huge cottage cheese eaters and always have to have apple butter and a selection of jellies for Roger - he puts jelly on everything.

Chris, I know what you mean about going back and re-reading - I always find typos. That's because we think faster than we can type. I leave whole words out. Glad your weather is decent. We hear thunder, but haven't seen a drop of rain. We really need rain. Otherwise, we'll have to water and we can't until we go get a new hose. Ours ruptured. What is it with hoses today? They used to last a lifetime.

Kay @BrightEyes your cool nights sound wonderful. Good for you for sleeping in.

For those of you in this horrible heat wave - be safe. I saw individual room "air conditioners" on TV last night. They run on batteries (I think) - I would definitely be getting a few of these. Wish I had more deets, but they didn't seem to be very expensive. Maybe that's the wave of the future.

Waving to all and hoping you have a good day.

They even spoke about the heat wave on Swedish news tonight, especially mentioning a heat record in British Columbia. Sick temperatures! Half of it would be enough. I'm not a heat lover, even though I can tolerate it better now that I've lost some weight. STAY SAFE and drink lots of water!
