And another day of rain. Is anyone else surprised that they aren't pruney?
My yard is such a mess. We have the septic people coming to pump the tank even though it's not due for two more years. When it rains this much, it doesn't drain right. I don't even want to think about what this is going to entail. :lalalala:

I was so freaking happy having the family together last night. Everything was perfect. The food was good, the movie was adorable. I am not a huge sangria fan but the white sangria was fruity and refreshing. And who knew you could make a Tres Leches cake without milk? :rotfl:
The cake was a little tricky, I needed to make sweetened condensed coconut milk. I followed the directions to a T but it didn't thicken up after it was chilled. I had to restart the simmering/condensing again and got it right the second time around.

While I was in between cooking, I researched what plants can be propagated in water. I have done that with my Pothos plant before but since the stand has three jars I want to try a variety. I think I'm going to start out with some herb clippings- basil, rosemary, and thyme. If I kill them, I have more outside, no harm, no foul.

Other than cleaning :housekeeping: for my friend this afternoon and putting away the dishes from last night (Sam is a speed demon, she washed everything before I even packed all of the food away after dinner), I should have a relatively quiet day. Good thing, because I still haven;t cleaned my desk that I said needed to be done 2 weeks ago.

Hope you all have a dry/not too hot day!

@bcgal00 Have you had any luck with PS yet? What you are going through and how you did the force-rebuild of the preferences sounds so similar to what I deal with when ACDSee crashes. I feel your pain and frustration, fingers and toes are crossed for a successful fix!
Loved the photos on FB of the birds! Thx for the b-day wishes ♥

@tanteva :hanging: Hang in there, hope that you are feeling better and your mojo comes back soon. :hug1:
Animals and rainbows! I can't wait to see this kit!

@vickyday Ivy was my first thought to propagate but I don't know what to do with the ivy I already have, it's looped around the window sill so many times! LOL!
Poor Asher, the thunderstorms have really been bothering my dogs too. The other day they wouldn't go outside in the morning until it was almost noon.
Uggggghhhhhhh! What a mess about the freezer!! Between the damage and all of the phone calls back and forth, you must have ended up with a splitting headache. :(

@Cherylndesigns I am glad that you got some rain for your plant babies. Are you in the heat dome area? Stay cool as possible.
hehe, yeah, restaurants don't have as big a "pour" as I do when I am home. One nice thing about the boxed wine is that I don't feel guilty is I pour a big glass of wine and it looks like half the bottle is gone :drunk:

@BrightEyes Good to hear that you are taking it easy, it has to be hard but it is important. Stay cool too!

@LSlycord LOL!! That is one of my daughters-duties, refereeing for my parents. Not one I enjoy either.
She was explaining to Shaun that he needed daytime and nighttime outfits. That was an interesting discussion.
HA!! I bet!! How hard did Shaun roll his eyes at her?

Vicky- I just saw that as of 6 pm, Chris hadn't shown up. I really hope that when you check in today that he did make it back to you.

Actually, I woke up at 5:45 this morning with a headache and a nervous, upset stomach over the stupid freezer situation. I just called Lowe's and the receiving chick said her supervisor said the delivery guy said he was going to pick it up today. It would've been nice for him to call me yesterday and tell me that! Aggravation overload!

Good Morning ladies... I have been MIA from here, but spent the day yesterday with my sisters. I had forgotten it was the day we were going to be together, so I spent all morning cleaning the cobwebs off of the decks and tidying up the house. It was my sister Pam's birthday and we all decided to go and pay a visit to our oldest brother Bob. He is 87 years old and we haven't seen him since Covid happened. Poor guy is getting dementia although he did recognize us, there were moments when he looked at us like he did not know us at all. His son who is caring for him told us that he has started to wander a bit, so its time for him to assessed and get him into a care home. The police brought him home the other day as he was walking around their small town and did not know how to get back home or who he was. Good thing its a small town and everyone, knows everyone! After our visit we came back to my place and I cooked brunch for the three of us and then we had tea and birthday cheesecake topped with berries for dessert. We gave Pam her gifts and card and sat and chatted for quite a long time on the upper deck with a nice breeze keeping us cool.

@faerywings - OMG I feel like such a loser :loser:for forgetting your Birthday!! Its actually the same day as my sister Pam's (we celebrated her's a day late). So happy be-lated birthday to you sweet faery friend!! :dancingbfly:. It sounded like you had a great luncheon with your parents! I am so happy that they did not bicker and that you got to have your glass of Pinot! Although my gosh that's a lot to pay for a glass of wine! Your evening last night sounds like it made your very happy also!! That is wonderful! Oh BTW it is 37 more sleeps until our family is all under our roof again. Lots to do before they arrive and I might have to step away from here for a bit to get it all done.

@vickyday - Ugh on the problems with the freezer, sure hope they show up soon so you are not waiting around all day for the pickup! Some places have such terrible customer service! Things just are not the same anymore and so many businesses have such staff shortages, its just crazy!!

@bcgal00 - I do hope that you got your Photoshop woes all figured out! What a PITA!! Enjoy your morning before coming back home to test out the photoshop!

@BrightEyes - so nice to see your smiling face in here again! I hope that you are feeling up to getting some scrapping done with the Colour Play today! Take care of yourself!!

@Cherylndesigns - I hope that your plants got enough rain, but I sure hope that you are not in the sweltering heat!! That is something that worries me when everyone is here, that we will be in a heat dome and have to be inside where its cool all the time!! I think it might be a good idea to get some new board games, just in case LOL.

Ok I am off on my hike today, its not too far away, but I need to get my pack ready and make sure I have plenty of water, its another sunny and warm day here. Have a great Humpday everyone! :cowwaving:

Sorry to hear about your brother's dementia. My mom had Alzheimer's and it is so sad!

Good morning, all.

Yes, we're in the heat dome. It's supposed to get up to 104 this week. The rain cooled things down a bit yesterday but it's back up today. Ugh I don't even want to go out. I did go out and pull some weeds after it stopped raining yesterday. That's my weed pulling time - after it rains. MOST of them come right out. We have some massive weeds however, living in front of the woods. Lots of thistles too and that darned Johnson Grass is trying to invade my gardens again this year. I'm trying to stay after it this year. Last year, it about took over. It's very invasive and it if gets too big, I have to get Braden down here to dig it out. There's no pulling it out. Yes, Chris @faerywings I think my plant babies got watered pretty well but it's almost a daily watering when it's this darned hot. My beans have the most beautiful blossoms on them!

I haven't told you all that my great-granddaughter, Kinleigh, is coming out for about ten days. She's about 2 1/2 now and her mother finally relented to letting her come out. Ava, the Energizer Bunny, left the Tulsa airport at 4 AM this morning, had a layover in Dallas, then on to the Detroit airport. They're meeting her there, with Kinleigh, then they have an hour turn - around, then fly to Chicago where they have a 5-hour layover! Then back into Tulsa about 8 tonight. Only that girl would do that, and she made all of the convoluted arrangements with the airlines. The only thing she's worried about is entertaining a 2 year old for 5 hours. (On their long layover.)

Chris @faerywings I'm so happy that you had such a great birthday dinner and movie. The cake actually sounds good and I agree with you about the boxed wine. SO happy that had a good day! You should easily be able to propogate the herbs you mentioned. You can propagate about anything in water. I broke off a tomato plant and did the same thig. Of course, they got eaten, but that's another story.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a wonderful birthday Pam must have had. Sounds like you all had a great day and I'm so sorry about your brother. My mom had Alzheimer's so I know about that. If you're in the heat dome, stay cool - we're definitely in it - again this year. I lost a lot of plants last year, so most of my herbs are in pots that I can move up next to the house to protect them a little bit.

Vicky @vickyday, hope your headache and tummy ache goes away - I don't know how you stand those every day. I used to have migraines, so I understand, and I have to watch what I eat because I have a sensitive stomach, too.

Hugs to everyone and Happy Hump Day.

How is it Wednesday? I said I'd be here Tuesday morning, so I'm just going to pretend it's Tuesday morning. While these non stop storms and so much rain is ENOUGH for me, I'll take it over those horrible heatwaves some of you are having. @Cherylndesigns 104 is just evil. I hope the temps come down soon.
@taxed4ever I'm so sorry about your brother. Such a sad, difficult condition. I'm glad he is somewhere everyone recognizes and knows him. We lost one of our town residents last summer. It's scary how quickly they can wander off.
@vickyday I hope they picked up the freezer. Fingers crossed.
@faerywings it was your birthday?????? Sorry I missed it.

I wasn't around this morning. I went out first thing on a photo walk before the heat ramped up. I was sweating to death by the end of my photo walk. But came home and hopped in the pool so quickly cooled off. Got PS working but still have to do a few things I never did before. ACDSEE still won't work so I give up on that. I'll check in tomorrow morning before my long hike around the lake with some friends.

Yes, it is evil! Thank goodness, there's always a nice breeze up here at the top of the property! That saves us on these hot days! LOVE the kitty picture.
