yup, feeling hot hot hot.

We got to 95° yesterday, which might be a record for here. Newark NJ broke records the day before. Once you are over 90 and the extreme humidity, actual degrees don't make much of a difference.
I was able to finish all of the cleaning I had to do for my friend. I spent more time with Mouse and Caitlyn was able to get off work early. She had to be at work in the mornings, the school has new student orientations this week which are blackout days for her department. She made an appt at 6 pm for her baby girl. Scott came over to hang with Cait for an hour too. The vet is so kind and gave us as much time as we needed with her before and after. It sucks.
Having made the decision, today will be easier for her, at least.

I am sitting in on the job interview today and I am excited. No plans for the afternoon so I hope to get some time to scrap.

What fun plans do you have going on?
Stay cool!

AWW! I can understand how much Caitlyn is not wanting to take Mouse to the vet today! BIG HugS to her....and you!
WOW! The cabin Lauren is letting you take over sounds GREAT! I see some thrift shopping in the future for you!
Thank you so much-- she knows how much all of the Ooos support her and it means a lot.
My friend who is moving is having a garage sale in 2 weeks and if there is anything leftover, I am going to ask her if I can take it. Plus I know there are more than those two shelves in the attic, I just need to get up there when I am not going to bake if I do.

I also worked on getting last week's pictures off my phone and onto the EHD so I can start working on pages. It will turn into a documentary, LOL! I kept a journal each day, so the journaling is quite extensive! I'll let you know when I've published it, LOL!
:rotfl: It's gonna be awesome!
I am loving the AJ Week 4 pages I have seen so far, everyone is so creative. Maybe you can incorporate one of your new photos into a LO for it.
DD#3 and son were able to take all but the kitchen chairs to a recycle place for me yesterday. Had to pay to get rid of them... but glad to have them gone from the garage.

The rain should be starting here soon.... cloudy and in the 70's. Over half the state is under a flood watch for the next few days.
Great news about getting rid of them, even if you had to pay.
Good thoughts to you about the weather and flood watch. It's just wacky everywhere.

Busy day. Got oil changed, new air filter, kid to and from VBS helping, groceries picked up, rain, sun, rain again. Now to tackle meal planning for the next 30 days. What's in the freezer? What needs to be bought? What am I? A magician? Nope a mom with a budget. Get ready for "pantry meals" to use up what we have LOL
A mom with a budget *is* a magician. Hahaha!
I knew that no one was going to be in the mood to eat yesterday so I made a pasta salad to pick on- you could probably make it with stuff you have on hand. Lots of veggies and protein.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Quick check in here! This is VBS at work here too, so long, fulfilling days!
@faerywings I'm so sorry to read about Mouse. Big hugs to Caitlyn and all of you. That's never easy.
@vickyday what do you use to get your photos off your phone? Do you use an app or a reader? I've looked into this and it always comes to a dead end. Apple loves me for all the 17,000 pictures on my phone and on the cloud. So far, I email myself the one's I want to scrap. There has to be an easier way.
Have a good day everyone!

With everything that is "breaking" in our house, I for sure pray everyone's AC keeps on keeping on in this crazy heat wave!
Praying Caitlyn and the family are doing better the day after! :hug4:

The easiest thing I have found, Amy, in transferring pics from my phone is to use my other laptop that is not Apple. Or, like you I email them to myself. I wanted to do the Air Drop but it is a priority app with Apple and will not "talk" to android phones, which is what I have. Sorry, not much help for you.

Good idea for your friend's leftover yard sale stuff!
I've been thinking on your AJ Week 4 challenge.....still thinking! I'll have to see if I can use something from our trip for the challenge! Thanks for the idea!

Ladies who want to transfer photos this is what I do. Apple phone with Dell laptop Here are 2 ways I use.
1. Sometimes if there are only a few I will just pic them- up to 8 and email them to myself. Then download from email to my photo folder.
2. If there are allot I plug a cable to phone and computer so I can load directly to the appropriate folder. A message comes up on phone asking if you want the computer to access your photos-Allow. Then go to PC select Apple iPhone- internal storage then a list of folders appear. Select the folder you want -a list comes up I then do sort and delete all AAE files so all that is left are the pic files. Select those you want to transfer and drag them into the folder you select on your PC. So you will be working two open windows.
I'm sure this is clear as mud so if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me.
Good luck

It was too hot to cook yesterday so when I was at the supermarket yesterday afternoon and smelled the fried chicken I just gave up and bought a bucket. The since it was over 100° on the deck I just set it out there to keep warm until dinner time. Health department would not approve, I’m sure, but we are both still alive this morning.

My daughter arrives tonight with our 2 granddaughters, to start “grandma and grandpa summer camp”. Here’s that there won’t be thunderstorms canceling that last little flight from Dulles to Charlottesville, or we’ll have to drive up there to pick them up. Daughter goes home early Monday leaving us the kids.

Today will be setting up the guest room and clearing out my office so there’s places for them to sleep. And going to gas up the car just in case.

I’ve been working steadily on our 2016 road trip pictures. Who can remember which waterfall that is we’re standing in front of? But between my google maps timeline and extensive use of google lens I’ve been at least close enough to fool myself so far.

Jealous of those of you with decent temperatures and even a little rain. Keep cool, everyone else!

When I told the East Coast LadyO's I was going to bring the Florida weather up because you all had such a miserable spring I didn't mean to bring this much heat & humidity. Records are being set all over.

Yeah @vickyday sounds like you are catching up after your trip, it's always a few days to get back into the routine.

@faerywings Putting an animal down is such a hard thing for us to do but for them it's a kindness-no more suffering. There are humans who need this kindness too.

I went to breakfast with oldest grandson yesterday...so weird to say "meet you there", seem like he was just little and I had to pick him up. Then Hubby and I did some shopping Super hot here yesterday 90's so I defrosted the freezer in the trailer ..sadly they do not have frost free ones. It was nice to work with the cold/ ice getting that job done. :cheer:I also did an inventory of what is in the freezer.Note- I did take my time--it was cool!!!

Last night we had an nice quiet dinner with our son and family. Then he and I did some stuff in his greenhouse and out in the flower & vegetable gardens.

This morning I did the chores with Sarah so I know what to do with the animals- goats, sheep, pigs and chicken when they go camping at the race track this weekend. They got pit passes too so grandson is over the top excited. Today we are meeting Jay's sister and BIL for lunch...I'm having salad. Then tonight we are meeting our best CT friends for dinner...OMG all we are doing is eating and partying here.

@AK_Tracy With all that you are doing don't you wonder how you every worked??? that is what happens and you wonder how you ever fit work into your life schedule.

@Terri M I guess I missed it but how did your party go?

Just got a call that DD and SIL they will be closing on the new house on Friday. They are on vacation at Cape Cod for the next week so not much will get moved this weekend, they will have to come back and live in old house for a month or so and have tag sale then put it up for sale. They are in no hurry but are very excited.

Stay cool and scrap away friends.

Good Morning! ( well, for 20 minutes it is still morning) Y'all are so fast to respond, I will probably miss somebody's news.
@faerywings Chris, sorry for the sad news. ANY kind of pet except snake or spider is worthy of grief and memory. Hugs.
Your friend's move is coming up soon... Hugs for that too. I just had to part with a life long friend- my maid of honor- last week due to irreconcilable differences. We really tried to find common ground. But our beliefs and practices are polar opposites. She has changed drastically. It was a hard week last week. I am glad you and your friend will remain intact!
@BoatLady Debby I envy your time with the sheep!!! As a fiber artist, I would be imagining all kinds of things with their wool, haha.
Terri- our daughter is coming today too! From Tx. Time with the grands ( our son's kids) is precious. DD is single and no children. But out time is so good.
@vickyday @mimes1
Vicky and Amy- have fun with VBS!! We did that our entire lives up til the past decade. So many places have let that go. I always loved it as a kid, enjoyed it as a teacher.

Oh! DD is BRINGING ME PISTACHIO MUFFINS!!!! :dancingbfly: She is visiting in the upstate today and headed here in the evening with mufffffiiiiinnnnnssssss!!!! dance3 dance3 :giggle4:
IT'S SO HOT HERE-- I almost wondered if I missed the mark and came to me?!! :devil2:110+ heat index today. CAN'T wait to leave. Don't want to spend the rest of my life cooped up for 3+ months every year- we never made real connections here outside of our son and his fam anyways. I grew up in the North of Ohio and Indiana, so cold is familiar. We plan to come back here Dec-March so not worried about it. I do think we would love to experience the Lake in Winter at least once though. Carpe Diem and all that,
My new watercolor (drafting table) comes today!!! I can't wait! Gotta go now to rework my studio so it's less cluttered and more productive. Stay cool everybody!

Been working like mad on pre-release LOs this morning. Still have a couple to go. Loving the Color Play colors/theme this month... so soft and cool. Helps when the temps are so hot! :giggle4: Yesterday was not quite so hot (87*F) but muggy with high humidify even before the rain came in. Reminded me of weather when we lived in Corpus Christi, TX... Of course, the high humidity set off the aches and pains in the back and feet. Will have the same for the next few days. We need the rain so I try not to complain too much.

I need to cut up the cardboard boxes (from the kitchen chairs shipments) as recycle pick-up is tomorrow. Going to move the old chairs out to the garage. Then the house will be looking back to 'normal'. :rotfl:

Stopped long enough to pop-in here and see what is going on with everyone.... now back to scrapping. HAGD

No VBS for us. We were scheduled to have VBS the week my DH, the pastor, died in 2017. No pastor for a year or so, then COVID hit...we lost what kids we had...no VBS or SS now, unfortunately.
