That's IT! No sharp objects (or corners) are allowed in my house for a week.
I mentioned how on Monday, I cut my finger on the can lid, but I didn't mention how I also stabbed myself twice with the bamboo skewers twice and pulled splinters out with my teeth. Caitlyn walked into the corner of our puzzle board and put a huge gash and bruise on her thigh. Yesterday-- oh yeah. *shakes head* Yesterday, Gary had to go and top all of us. He sliced the part of his palm under the thumb with a rotary cutter tool. He was helping Cait cut fabric, the cutter got stuck, and when it unstuck, it went right into his hand. I put two butterfly bandages and a large BandAid over it and we got it to stop bleeding. He also should have gone to the ER for some glue/stitches. We are a freaking stubborn bunch, aren't we? :bowl:

That was the "highlight" of the day. The rest of my day was cleaning up the kitchen, watering the plants outside, laundry. It was quite dull.
Caitlyn got some good news, however. Yay!!! She got a notification that she is eligible for a $1000 grant through the COVID CARES Act to put towards her tuition next semester. It's just a drop in the bucket but way better than no drops! It came at the right time since she has been so stressed over loans and debt.

Today I am taking Ray and J to the vet. I hope that they behave. J already got one dose of Trazadone and I will give her another before we leave. Poor baby hates going to the vet. It rained overnight so I should probably take "advantage" of the wet weather and stay inside, clean the bathrooms or something.

What fun and exciting plans do you all have? Nothing? Really?! I am shocked. hahaha!

Gratitudes:
-Cait's grant
-having butterfly bandages in the house
-leftovers for last night's dinner

Kay- I hope that your trip was easy and quick. Your DD was so sweet to help you out. The last thing you need is to reinjure your back. Stay cool!

Trudy- how is the weather looking for the hike today? I hope that it is good, I bet the change of scenery and fresh air will help the zombie feeling stay away. I totally relate to that.
That is terrible to hear about Isaac's card. :( It was amazing and he would have loved it.
I don't blame you for not wanting to fly and I can't imagine how much you miss all of your babies.
That is crazy that people are sneaking into Alberta. Fine the lot of them. I think that maybe Canada should build a wall to keep Americans out. :(

Nancy- yup, it is humid! Congrats on DH's vision! Good for him, I am so jealous. It has to be strange to see him without glasses, like shaving a beard. That is good news that everyone was wearing masks. My friend works at the local TJ MAXX and they opened on Monday. The company said that employees has to wear masks but the customers didn't. She is upset b/c NJ was that you have but so what good is it when the store won't enforce it?
Enjoy the new books.

Thanks for checking out the photos I posted. This week's theme is Dog Appreciation Day.
We haven't come up with anything solid yet, other than making Peanut Butter cookies for us and some dog treats for them. Oh, Cait can make them their Pup-cakes. She usually makes them for their birthdays. That will make them really happy!

Woke up early this AM...5:30!!! Ugh... but that could because I went to sleep at 9:30 PM last night. I was worn out. Yesterday had some good and some not to good stuff. Got to the base to pick up Rx and only had 1 person in line ahead of me. Then found some weedkiller in the Exchange. Then the not so good... got to the commissary to find the line all the way down the side of the building almost to the back of it. Now.. the sun is shining - no shade - at temps pushing into the high 80's and it is only 9:30. I didn't think to bring the umbrella with me. Took 40 minutes to get to the head of the line to go in. I have a bit of sunburn from being out in full sun with no sunscreen. Just didn't think of it. I was glad to get my shopping done but had sticker shock over the price of meat... all of it was 50% more than it had been 6 weeks ago!!! And they had a limit of 4 packages of fresh meat [no matter if it was beef, pork, or chicken].

I called DD#1 once the groceries were loaded into the car and she arrived at the house less than 5 minutes after I got there. Was so glad to have her help unloading them and getting them put away. By then the temp was in the mid-90's.

Chris... WOW... so sorry to hear about all the accidents the family had with sharp instruments and corners!! OUCH!!! But, it does sound like everyone had fun with the luau evening.

Trudy, hope today is good for the hike. I relate to the zombie feeling at times. Getting out should help with that. Can't believe that people are stupid to think sneaking into Alberta will keep them safe from Covid-19... it is all over!!! I am with you... don't think I want to fly anywhere until this is under control. <<< hugs >>>

Nancy, so glad to hear that DH's vision is much improved. Remember when I had my cataract surgery that the colors were so much brighter and it is wonderful not to need glasses for distant viewing... just for reading. Hope you enjoy the new books.

On a good note, DD#1 told me that she and I have an eye appointment with her DH on Saturday. He is an optometrist. We are both about 5-6 months overdue on our check-ups. Glad she asked him about it as I didn't want to bother him while all this was going on. He has only been back to work for less than a month due to the office being closed. Should be getting a call from the library to set an appointment to pick up the new Kay Hooper today. Saw on-line that it was ready for pick-up.

Hope everyone has a happy hump day!

Morning everyone... Up early this morning and got DH some poached eggs for his breakfast. He is happy that he did not have to have cold cereal today LOL. Still not sure what will happen with my hike today, right now it looks not too bad out there. However the forecast is calling for rain right around the time we would all meet up. I will keep checking the weather before I decide. I am a fair weather hiker and don't like hiking in the rain LOL. Keep your fingers crossed for the sun to come out for me today! I will get my lunch packed anyway. I finally got a card finished and ready to mail yesterday and started working on the projects for SIL. Lots to keep me busy, but I am missing my painting and scrapping too! Seems there are not enough hours in the day to fit it all in. Especially when I wander around aimlessly from room to room all day LOL.

Chris - Sheesh you guys are accident prone these days!! Well that is three accidents so you should be good for a bit now! Hope everyone heals quickly! That is wonderful news that Cait can get a grant to help with her tuition!! Every little bit helps! Seems like our province is moving into stage 3 for re-opening and we are now allowed to travel and stay overnight in campgrounds/hotels within our own province. It will be interesting to see if this will cause another spike in cases. Dr. Bonnie warns us to keep our bubble small though. Hmmmm I doubt that will happen. Hope your trip to the vet goes well. You plans for your next fun night sound like it will be a great one for the Dogs!!

Kay - Ugh your temps are way too warm for me!! That is too bad that you got a bit of a burn waiting in the long line up! I too have found that groceries seem to be rising in cost, it really is a shock to see how much they gone up in price! Nice that your DD was there to help you put the groceries away especially when it is so warm for you!

Nancy - Happy to hear that your DH is doing well with his eyes! Yup my DH still had to wear glasses for reading, but he sure loves that he can see everything so much clearer for everything else! Being humid is something that I don't like and we have been having a lot more humid weather too, not anywhere near what you experience, but still sticky for this time of year for us!

Felis - sorry I did not catch up with you the other day, but hope that you are enjoying some lovely summer weather and are keeping busy with everyday things!

Ok I best get my lunch ready in case I head out for my hike. Bed to make and dishwasher to empty before I go too. Patches of blue sky out there right now so far it looks promising. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

good morning - well Luther did not want to go for a walk in the evening even though temps had cooled so I went without him. I miss going with him. My baby mourning doves are really growing and they are flapping their wings like they want to fly away already. Amazing how fast they are growing. I prepared a great dinner last night. It was a crunchy peanut chicken dish with a peanut sauce that was so good. Just the correct amount of spice. Woke up at 4:30 and could not get back to sleep so read for a while and then went back to sleep and got up after 8am. Woke up and had the strangest dream. I dreamt I was bike riding with a girlfriend from work I have not seen in years. I think this mean I need to ride again. Today is a slow day. Nothing going on. But that is not bad LOL. I did get a page done so that was good. I try getting more scrapping done.

Chris OMgosh be careful! That is terrible. Hope the visit to the vet goes well. Sorry that J gets so nervous. Are you enjoying this heat. We have on the AC though I think we should open the windows. The thing I accept about the AC is that it does keep the humidity down and that is great. I think your Dog appreciation day will be fun!

Kay I am impressed you stood in line that long! If it had been me I would have gone home and found another store to go to. I know the prices there are much less but ... That is something about the cost of meat. I so rarely by meat that I don't notice. Since I do Blue Apron and they have not raised prices so I don't see it too much, thankfully! Use a lot of cream on that sun burn.

Trudy have fun on the hike!

Jean looks like there will be baseball this summer. 60 games in 66 days. At least we will have sports on TV provided there are not outbreaks of Covid on the teams. I will be interested in seeing where the players stay.

Felis I saw that Djokovic apologized for causing so many to get sick and not taking the warnings seriously.

Felis - sorry I did not catch up with you the other day

Aww, Trud, you're so sweet, but I hope you don't think this seriously! You was busy and can't comment, I totally understand you, that's life! Right now I'm so overwhelmed that can't sleep enough, what left about chat.
But this is to everybody: I've been serious when I'm told you that I don't expect, and definitely don't mind if you skip some of my posts, because find it boring or writen in too poor english.
I don't take it personal. And definitely don't want to make you struggle trying to figure out WTH she is meant with this LOL.

Nancy, I saw how Djokovic's father blamed Dimitrov for the whole situation. It's so ridiculous! Fans at my country are very mad! Don't believe in their words! Everybody says at the social media what others expect, what is popular and political correctly, but it's not the reality! What they post is not how they act! On the Balkan Peninsula and as much as I know from my friends on the island too, most common opinion is that who is in risk have to stay isolated and not to spoil the party of the everybody else. No matter what they wrote, the video from the night club show clear that they all are been in this together! :mad2:

Chris, Ouch what is this sick competition you made: 'who will get hurt most badly'? Fast recovery to all of you!

Kay, wow, too long line, you must needed really desperately from these things to risk like that! Hope the sun burn is not too bad!

Love you girls, but I have to run, I'm so disorganized so I'm in trouble now! Aww the sweet feeling from wishing for the weekends to come LOL I was missed that. :bump2:
