All of my early morning complaining about the rain yesterday paid off. The sun came out and it stayed out. The forecast completely changes between 7 am and 9 am. That made me very happy. Gary and I took the dogs for a short walk and then I was in the yard for a bit after lunch.
Food shopping was actually pretty easy and I made the kids happy. I found vegan ice cream on sale for the next time Tom comes over and Franks Red Hot flavored goldfish for my two. I also bumped into my next-door neighbor. He joked that in all of the years we lived here (26!) we never saw each other at the grocery store before.
I also had time to finish the LO I did and dang, I impressed myself. I felt very artsy and creative. :D

My mom is coming up today and we are going to try to come up with a tentative plan for our shore trip this September. I hope that getting some time away from my dad will be good for her, she complains about almost everything he does. (Now I know how you all feel about me- oops!) At least it is going to be a sunny and not hot day so she will be able to get around just fine.

Have fun today!

@taxed4ever I bet if I followed you around for a couple of days, I would be in awe of everything you get done. I don't know why it feels like we do nothing. How are Heather and the boys? Are you all counting down the days until you see them? My heart is so darn happy for you!
That is too bad that you couldn't use the shopping reward points for these flights, but you know what that means? You can use them for the next time you go out there! It def. felt strange the first few times being around people when we first started to open up here and also weird being around people without masks although I still wear mine when I shop.
I hope that you get that call for #2 soon!!
I understand exactly about that rut you are in. 100%. Some days I get annoyed with "life" intruding on my brain that just wants to be left alone. I am positive that seeing your family is going to hit the reset button for you. Hiking is also going to be a good thing and I hope that in a few months you can start that again. Sending hugs to you- we love you too!

Kay!! 190 VHS tapes! Wow, that is a collection, to be sure! How fun to go through them and think about the times you had watched them all. Hope all of your errands went well.

@Cherylndesigns I am glad that you had a good day! It has to be so frustrating to not be yourself, especially since you were getting so much accomplished at the house. All I can say is thank goodness that your wifi is working. Can you imagine if you had to still go to your "office" feeling like this?? Whew!
Trudy @taxed4ever I feel you - I haven't been very active here either. Hey, we do what we can do, right? We'll both make it back. My rut is different than your rut, but a rut is a rut.
^^ truth. And you will all get back to some version of normal and we will be waiting here with open arms when you do

@nancyr Some things don't change-- and you getting mad at the bad calls refs make is one of them! haha!! I am sorry that the game got screwed up but at least it wasn't the Devils *wink*
I was so happy that the weather turned out nice yesterday and looks amazing today (I am cold right now but that is just me, I guess)
Thanks for liking the LO I did. I had such a blast dressing up the insects and bird with flowers and jewelry. Every once in a while I surprise myself. ha!

@tanteva good luck with the vax today!

Hugs to all of you who read this, hope you are all doing OK!

I've had total focus on getting the 2nd shot this week, it feels like this week is over now ... and it's only Wednesday. LOL Getting a bit tired, still not sore in the arm like last time. We'll see if I get any fever. Nurse said it would show within 24 hrs. Of course, a bar of chocolete is zero points when you've taken a shot. Enjoyed that with my afternoon coffee.

Need to fix some dinner soon. Think I'll just boil some rice and fry something up. John can have chicken nuggets, I just toss them in the air fryer, no problems. I'm gonna go out and check the freezer, maybe we have some sort of stew or something out there that I can just heat to our rice.

Will try and do some scrapping - or I'll just see if I can find some cheesy movie on Netflix and crochet a bit. Started a new project yesterday (cuz I only have 7942475 going on already). A lovely cardigan that I'm going to make from all the odd skeins of cotton thread that I have in my stash. Here's the pattern:

I think it'll be amazing when (if?) it's finished. I wish I was as good on finishing project as I am on starting them LOL

Just found a file on my EHD named "Working on" - with 14 psd-files. From 2007 to 2011. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm guessing it's layouts I never finished. This could be fun. Gonna check and see ... it might be something I can finish - just changing kits and such. I'm sure I've learned a lot about shadowing and things since 2007 LOL

Hello lovelies.

Chris, @faerywings you just gave me an AHA Moment! Yes, what IF I didn't have wifi and "real TV"??? It would have been a LONG 2 weeks with neither one of those! Thanks for reminding me of that! I've missed being able to get outside and work, but it's so hot right now. It's near 90! Chuck has been wonderful to try to keep all of the plants watered. He said "do you HAVE to water your ferns EVERY DAY?" Yes, every day. He's even been feeding them - still not talking to them, but they'll wait on me for that. Hahaha

I'm so happy that I've felt like scrapping! I've created 2 layouts for Veronica and am going to try to do one for one of the others. I love Veronica's color palette. I've really been turning out the layouts. Keeps me busy. I feel better today than I have since I got sick. It's been 2 years and 3 days, but who's counting? ME!! Raises hand. I had a rough night, but I think "something" happened and apparently I passed through something. I was very hot all night and had to get up a couple of times to take my cough medicine. But, voila! I feel better today!

Have fun with your mom and let's all keep our fingers crossed that you'll be able to make it to the shore in September.

Hugs all around.

Hi girls,
Just a very quick pop in as I'm so behind with my work this week and at Friday have to go to the office. Hope next week I will be more organized!

Chris, I'm so happy that you have some vacation plans! Something I really have to change in myself is to listen more. Culturally here is normal when someone share something to you to respond with similar personal story for example or with advice. But I learned at the life coaching class that ''some people'' (yep I mean my mom, and they are in very similar relationship as your parents) complaining just because they needs validation on their feelings, not necessarily looking for solution (like with the tomato's fence ) and that create tense. I'm literally repeating the same thing 1000 times and still listening the same complains . Hope you was patient and spend a good time with your mom!

Eva, love that cardigan! But I'm in the same situation, have so many started projects, you really shouldn't tempted me! Also I was on Pinterest and followed some pattern to Etsy, I'm surprised that some people are able to sell patterns when everything can be find for free or to be figured out from everybody with 2 weeks practice :p. Such a madness! For now I'm on making summer tops, but I'm not sure did it worth it to put some fancy pattern or just a plural rows of single and double crochet, as I don't want anything to show through, but also don't want to wear other than bra under it as it's just too hot. Any advices?
Girl, I love your layouts about the Vest and the bears, I have to scrap lift them soon! I was waiting to finish my May's amigurumi projects so to take photos on them all together, but don't looks like this will happen soon.

Cheryl, I hope you'll can enjoy the summer without climate to bother you more! Really hope to get well soon! The layouts I saw on IG are wonderful! I'm surprised how productive you are in this situation!

Moss stitch! It get's a bit of the "airy", a bit drapy feeling of a lace pattern, but it's not see through. I love it for tops.
