Halfway through June? Whoa.
I am loving the weather we are having - more sunshine today chance of T-storms later today/this week. I hope it rains just enough to water the plants but not make too much of a mess with my yardwork haha. (Priorities!)

It was exhausting yesterday, I hate when vet appts like yesterday's are later in the day. The buildup is awful. Caitlyn is so darn lucky she has an absolutely wonderful vet for her rats. It was not an easy passing for Evie, although it could have been much worse. He joked with Caitlyn about how it is *always* her rats that are PITBs and she joked back to Evie to just go, she wasn't getting a say in the matter. The vet makes it so much easier for her, thank goodness. Evie has a Speedy Gonzales accent (all of our pets have "voices," Ray's was similar to Eeyore, and Whisky is British. I know, we are so strange LOL) so we all yelled Adios to her when we buried her, even Scott who was on a video call with Caitlyn.

I am picking up groceries and then off to clean today. I am going to see my parents tomorrow so my cleaning $$ will just about cover a tank of gas ha.

HAGD!

@tanteva W woke me up at 1 am and I knew she had been whining at me for a while because I remember incorporating it into my dream, that I had to finish something before I could take her out. Good thing our pets are cute when they wake us up. Same for Urban ;)
I haven't heard of First Kill, what channel/service is it on? WWDITS is coming back soon, my favorite vampire show of all time. The new season is next month.
Did you figure out what to cook? I am still struggling just about every day with that.

@BrightEyes How was the lunch? Everyone had a wonderful time?
That was smart to bring the plants inside, the winds must have kicked up quickly. We had a bunch of them-- they call them microbursts here- not as dry as you. They can be pretty damaging, I am glad that nothing broke this time around

@Cherylndesigns Saturday seems to be coming up fast. Have you noticed a difference in Asher? He seems like such a good kid, and who hasn't; dealt with a boy with an attitude?
Awwwwww how much did your heart melt when he said you were his second BF?
I found a recipe that I am going to try tonight.
Fried Mozzarella Sandwiches on Herby Garlic Bread
Can't give up cheese. Never. :D

@taxed4ever ugh, your weather sounds awful, is it much colder than usual? I sure hope that it warms up for you.
Yay for booking your flights!!!! When are you heading out?

@bcgal00 You have been really busy with your computer drives, all fingers are crossed for a smooth transition when you get the big one in.

@felis thank you!! I told her you sent hugs. I don't know how she does it with rats, they live such short lives but OMG, they are worth it <3

Morning, gals. Up and dressed early as the yard clean-up crew will be here soon.

Had a wonderful lunch with the gals yesterday. Started at 11:30 AM and went on until 3:30PM! We had a lot to talk about. :D One of the gals helped me move the dining room table back where it belongs afterwards. Clean-up was easy as just a few glasses and cups to go into the dishwasher. But have to admit that I was standing, walking more than I have been and the knee was aching alot by the time it was all over. I ended up wearing a long full skirt as pants wouldn't fit over the knee brace. It is still aching this morning. Wearing shorts this morning as it will be up in the mid-90's today.

Have the house opened up as it had dropped down to 65*F. Will be closing it up soon. Not quite as much smoke this morning. Keeping our fingers crosses... we may get some rain over the weekend. It is the start of our monsoon season (June 15 - Sept 30) when we get the most rain.

Not sure how much I will be able to do on the computer today. I am behind on working on the Birthday Bash stuff. Gotta run... I hear the crew arriving. CYL

First Kill is a Netflix original. About a young vampire girl, falling in love with another young girl, who happens to be a monster hunter. Bit of a complicated romance. LOL I haven't seen WWDITS - even had to google it. Looks like it's on Disney+, and I don't have that. I loved it when I was a kid and there only was 2 TV channels. Everyone watched the same thing, it was so easy back then. LOL

When I don't know what to cook - or I'm not in the mood to cook - ALWAYS spaghetti. My best comfort food.

Than layout is from 2011 & these day I add the onion & garlic and use vegetarian "meat". Still the best food. Plain, simple, divine.

Today I'm boiling potatoes, make a pepper sauce (instant powder thing) & fry up vegetarian schnitzels for me & U. J will get meat balls.

Got a text from the boss earlier, and I will work tomorrow again. Good for the vallet - bad for my scrapping LOL Haven't made today's birthday challenge yet. And it's time to cook dinner now, so I might have to wait til Friday to make that one.

Have a funeral to go to on Saturday. Not anyone really close, a sweet lady from the church I used to go to. She was such a warm and "true" person, I really want to honor her. She had a long happy life (was 92 when she passed) and did much good for other people. Not super happy about going back to that church, but ... well ... that's a whole other story no one need to hear. I'm going with a friend, so I will be fine. Gotta challenge all my hang-ups!

Morning everyone! I am off to my hike today, its not very sunny, but its not rainy either, so that is ok! Need to get my lunch packed and get out the door a bit earlier than usual. The hiking group is on their summer schedule now so they leave earlier to beat the heat, seems silly as we haven't had any real heat yet LOL. Oh well its good temps for hiking and the views today will be nice! I got our flights all booked yesterday, took a bit longer than I had planned on. Got to use my companion flight that comes with my WestJet credit card and had $250 to use in WestJet dollars too, so that sure helped out on the cost! What we really need here is more competition with airlines so that the prices come down a bit. (wishful thinking on my part!). We will be flying to our Son's on the 29th of July for 10 days, so hopefully the weather is great and we will get lots of time with all of the grands! Now to make arrangements for the watering of the flower baskets and keeping the hummingbird feeder filled for the birds. Other than that everything is on timers and the grass should be ok for 10 days. Ok I just wanted to pop in and say hey!! I hope you all have a great day! I am very far behind on all of the birthday stuff, so will try to do catch up tomorrow. CYL!!

Good morning ladies. Today I get a break from the computer/photo stuff as everything has now been moved off the failing drive and unplugged it from the computer. Tomorrow the big drive comes and then the work of transferring thousands of photos, off multiple drives, over to it will start. It will take days/weeks to complete. Then I will have to create a new catalog (maybe a few catalogs) for lightroom b/c the photo links will all be changed. Ugh. Days and days of work, but one day at a time.

Other than house chores, I am going to scrap, do some birthday challenges. I keep checking out the window, watching for the baby birds to come out of the birdhouse. I have gotten photos of them with their beaks wide open, taking food, but hope to catch one of the coming out when they are ready. The chances are slim I will be looking at that moment but you never know.

I might go for a drive later before dinner to see the river flooding along the east side. Depends on how busy I get with scrapping. I'll need to get the dogs out at some point too so maybe they can come for the ride and I'll take them to a dog park closer to the river, one we don't often go to.

@faerywings Glad to hear that there was some humor found amongst the passing of Evie, never an easy thing to go through.

@taxed4ever Enjoy the hike. That's exciting that you are getting your summer plans made.

I'm going to get more coffee, get dressed and see if I can get some scrapping done.

Good morning Lovlies,

Well, today I slept in - was up at 7 AM yesterday. I got up about 8 and laid back down. Adrienne's phone call woke me up at 11:00. Stayed up way too late last night while Asher played video games with his friends. There were 5 of them playing and it got very loud. Chuck can't hear so I let him be as loud as he wanted to be. He can't do that at home because my dd lives in a condo and they have "quiet hours" starting at 10 PM. He can't be loud at his dad's because he just can't - they live in a home, but he can't be loud there. I just let him hoop and holler here. He's playing already - they're laying on Alyssa's PS4 on our big screen TV.

Trudy @taxed4ever thank you for your sweet comments about Asher. I've enjoyed him so much and really wish he could stay longer. I think he'd happily stay another week. I'll hit the wall when he leaves.

Chris @faerywings your family is so much like ours - we turn to humor on nearly everything. Humor has gotten us through some rough times. We laugh , inappropriately too. Your mozzarella sandwich sound amazng!! I'm so glad Scott could be there, via video call, for the burial of Evie. I'm sorry. :( Yes, Asher is a sweet boy - just moody, but as you said, what boy isn't? He's mellowed out SO much and gets mellower every day. Now he has to go back. :( Saturday EARLY AM is coming fast!

Kay @BrightEyes glad you had such a good time with your gals. I'm sure you're wiped out now. Our weather is in the 90's too - it got up to 98 yesterday, but cools down nicely at night. Adrienne and I sat out on the porch yesterday late afternoon and the breeze made it seem very temperate.

I'd better get going. I've got so many people who have already played in my challenge and I'm just thrilled that they liked my "16 elements". LOL It sounds like a lot but if you find a kit with lots of elements, it's not that difficult.

SYL and hugs to all who come on after me.

This is what I wrote this morning. But I didn't get it posted. Under the heading of Better Late than Never...

Good morning. I didn’t make it in here yesterday. How did that happen? I don’t think that I was busy. Oh my. Another relatively quiet day. Shaun’s appointment is tomorrow with the doctor and then there is some test that needs to be done on Friday. I sure hope we find something. We have Amazon boxes arriving daily…Sydney finally decided that we needed to start getting things for her room. We have a mini-fridge, mattress pad, mattress cover, mattress protector, plastic drawers, sheets, pillows…and the list goes on. She needs a new computer…but I really would like to find the specs for the engineering college first. Dumbest thing…they have specs but they still talk about Internet Explorer…doesn’t inspire confidence.

Oh…I forgot. My canvas photos have shipped…they should arrive tomorrow. I got three from our Paris photo shoot. I can’t wait to get my hands on them. They are huge…and we were going to hang them in the stairwell…but I think I’ve changed my mind and they will go in our bedroom. Guess we will see for sure when they get here.

It’s going to be another scorcher here today…heat index supposed to be 110! That’s just too hot. But boy are my flowers loving it. My roses are blooming, the hibiscus are just going crazy!

Responses to yesterday's Daily O's.

@faerywings I can’t believe that you wound up in poison ivy. That sounds just awful. That’s funny about Cait feeling like she is on exhibit when the blinds of her office are open.

@tanteva I do think that some of those old designs were really good. But things have certainly changed in the digital world since 2011. They have changed in the rest of the world as well.

@BrightEyes wow those winds would have been scary. And then having to drag the plants in with the bad knee…that wasn’t good. Hope that the Red Hat Club luncheon was fun! I think that sounds like such a good time.

@Cherylndesigns so glad that you have had this time with Asher. How cool is that to be his second-bff? What a cool grandma you are and what a great family you have.

@taxed4ever yay on the plane tickets! Something to look forward to for sure. And we have some of those house projects as well. It just never ends…

@bcgal00 yay for finally getting the pictures sorted around. I keep mine on Smugmug which seems to work for me.

@felis glad to see that you popping in!

And since I am here...about noon today, I realized that Shaun's appointment with Mayo isn't until next week! What? I am really losing it! Scattered doesn't begin to describe me...

Long, hot day... but it was well worth the time, heat, expense!!! The lawn clean-up crew was busy from the time they arrived until they left - just a few minutes ago. The good thing was it only reached 90*F while they were here (will still climb a few more degrees before sunset) and marvelous thing was the wind stayed fairly calm... with light breezes that started about 40 minutes before they finished up!!! Hooray!!! They were able to spray herbicide and pre-emergence weed control over most of the rock areas. I was in and out most of the day taking photos of them while they worked. That huge yucca was stubborn - they ended up putting a chain around the base of it it and using his truck to pull most of it out of the ground. He sprayed the deep roots with a herbicide and then covered them with a weed retardant fabric and rocks over it all. They got all the wild elm and cottonwood trees out... so glad I had them done while they are still fairly young (less than 7" tall). The sage plants look so good in the 3 spots in the backyard.... still small but he said they will grow fast and look beautiful there. Good thing they are only 1 gallon size so were easy to bring inside yesterday and take back out there this morning. He cut back the trumpet vines to the top of the wall and sprayed all the "volunteer" sprouts so they shouldn't come back. He was so nice and filled the big pot in the front/side yard with new potting soil for me so I don't have drag the huge bag over to it since he took out the wild elms - soil and all. And brought one of big bags of potting soil to the back patio so it is there when I plant the 5 pots with the lilies, etc .... maybe next week. They got all the drip system checked out and replaced replaced tubbing and tips on several of them. I haven't taken time to look at the photos I took today as I am hot and tired from going in and out most of the day. Been downing water all day since I was out in the heat quite a bit.

Time for me to put the knee up and rest in the recliner until I feel like having supper. CYL
