The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning and happy day to you all! The sun is out and I'm ready to go! Not really, or not yet at least. I need more :coffee1:

How was your day yesterday? Is the party keeping everyone busy? I am falling behind on the challenges and games but I should hopefully have time this afternoon. I have to say how fun it is seeing my cousin, O Birthday Fairy sending out faery-vibes. And prizes. Lots of prizes ♥ I wish she could visit here more often but she expends a lot of energy when she is here. Plus, it makes it even more special when she is here.

The weather wasn't great for the field trip but we all did fine. It was mostly drizzling and light rain on and off. I led the group in a Rain, Rain Go Away chant during our welcome/intro. :giggle4:
I felt kind of bad for some of the chaperones. Between the rain and the activity I was leading, some of them looked like they would have rather been anywhere else. Because of the rain, the kids were finding *lots* of worms. Lots of isopods and spiders. And more and more worms. I was super proud of one girl who told me it was her first time holding a worm. I gave her a high five for that.

The kids got home around 4 and sounded like they had an amazing time camping. The weather was pretty decent for the most part, only one day when they stayed back at the campsite. They have tarps and canopies and a cabin so they played games at their table in spite of the rain.
I am not sure what Cait was happier about, seeing her ratties or taking a "real" shower. LOL!

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and *fingers crossed* spending some time scrapping and commenting and playing games here.

Have fun today, no matter what you do!

Sunday was good. It was nice to get out of the house and be around people. I was done though by the time we got home. Some swelling from being active but not as bad as expected.
That's wonderful! If you swell up a little extra, do you need to wear the compression pants longer or is it something that works itself out if you give it time?
The numbness in my legs from surgery is so weird. It takes up to three months to totally disappear. Its just a weird sensation. Like a million pins stabbing me all at once but not just stabbing but when anything touches or slides across the skin. Last night and this morning are the worst yet. I do have meds to take if its too much but I dont like to take meds to I'll deal with it. Just forgot this part of recovery and oh its crazy weird/annoying today.
Is that from the nerves regrowing? Sheesh, three months from now and you'll be close to the next surgery. Ok, exaggeration, but YKWIM hahaha.

@vickyday !!! We missed you!!
Good luck with all of the doctor visits, I hope that they are all routine.
Great news about the car-- does that mean the engine light is off again? You missed the drama of me getting my car into the shop last week. We finally had time where I could use Caitlyn's as a backup. While dropping my car off, hers died on us right in the middle of the road. I was able to restart it, get back home, and then we swapped cars as soon as mine was done.
Ooooh wouldnt' it be nice to go to HI on vacation. (Sorry Tracy, I'd go to AK to visit you but I am not sure it fits in my dream vacation scenario. :beach1:
I have needed time to adjust to the progressives but not where I couldn't really see at all. I hope that yours work out better ASAP, and if not you can get them replaced.

I've read through everyone's chatter here but I am too tired to write now so will catch up after a sleep.

We are in Chambersburg PA and will enjoy a quiet day tomorrow then up to Promised Land Campground in Greenland PA for a days
Have a wonderful time!

Have a wonderful time!
My distance vision is better now, but my reading vision is blurry! And I spend more time needing the reading distance than I do the driving distance! Sigh! What to do, what to do!
No more engine light.....for now! I hope you have your car back by now and that it didn't cost you an arm and a leg!
HA! I've been to HI, not AK.....and I'm not a beach person, so I would love to go to AK! It won't be in the near future, however!

It's been quiet around here, but I just keep hearing so much stress for DD and family. Collapsed basement wall to be fixed in one house, asbestos removal to get to plumbing and hot water back on in the other, plus she's presenting at a conference today and the internet has gone down. And she's got follow-up doctors visits to make sure that her appendix problem last month isn't actually cancer. Their kids are in the last week of school, so they will be here with us for a couple weeks soon; that should relieve some of the burden.

Plus I'm keeping an eagle eye on David to make sure he hasn't gotten something from his weekend tick attack. And my sister helps (not) by telling me about a second cousin of ours who died after getting Lyme.

Considered drinking but WaPo column today says that increases risk of dementia. Sheesh, there's just no solution.
Oh my goodness, I'm a Debbie Downer today. I agreed to watch a Viking Cruise web presentation this afternoon about cruising in France, since we're thinking about doing that next; then bringing Communion to homebound in the local assisted care facility. There's some calming activities for later. Plus I've been enjoying the birthday party.

Alaska vs Hawaii....hmm. I have to admit that I've taken the Alaska Vancouver to Anchorage cruise three times and loved it every time. So much that we have a big family one planned for next year, our 50th anniversary. I'll never forget kayaking in Ketchikan and a pod of orcas past right in front of us. Hawaii I've only visited once, but I'm not that much of a beach person.

I was super proud of one girl who told me it was her first time holding a worm. I gave her a high five for that.
Obviously her folks don't take her fishing! I always laugh at the gas station in the center of our little town, which includes a Dairy Queen plus a big sign out front advertising worms. I've never felt comfortable getting my ice cream from a worm shop.

Good Morning Os!
Sounds like everyone is up and having a morning. The sun is shining and I dont have too leave the house.

That's wonderful! If you swell up a little extra, do you need to wear the compression pants longer or is it something that works itself out if you give it time?
The swelling goes away a bit while sleeping, having feet up. But because lipedema effects the lymph system its an on going issue. The compression helps the lymph system move fluids and keeps them from pooling. Once it pools, it can start collecting and if you do nothing it eventually turns fat cells fibrous. So I will always be wearing compression to some degree. I can be without if its a slow stay home day with not much going on and lots of feet up. But If I am gong to be standing all day or running errands, its best to be proactive and wear compression tights to keep things moving.
Is that from the nerves regrowing? Sheesh, three months from now and you'll be close to the next surgery. Ok, exaggeration, but YKWIM hahaha.
Yes, the nerves are waking up. Its such a splendid thing but its not fun. The meds they gave me to help with nerve pain make me dizzy, like I cant keep my balance while trying to walk so I dont take them. Its spectacular fun. If I remember from the last surgery, I have another 2 weeks and then it should be mostly gone.

@Terri M your poor daughter! They just keep getting hit with big stuff. I bet youre looking forward to the grands coming though.

Well, not much happening here today. Its sunny so I'll be outside. Sitting in the lawn chairs reading a book and drinking gallons of water. Suppose to be 65° today but once in direct sunlight its 10-15° hotter. Would be a good day for lake swimming but I'm not allowed yet as all the cuts aren't healed. Oh well, the dogs will swim instead.
Off to get more coffee, Chris you still another cup? :coffeedrinker:

Sorry I haven't been posting/responding to posts in this thread much this month. DD#1 is still here and work on her son's house is still going on. Not quite sure when she will be heading back to her home... depends on work on his house as she needs to be here during much of it. With all that going on, I don't have as much time as usual to be on the computer.

Couple of very good things happened this week.... I have some office chairs on casters that we bought several years ago (faux leather on them) that I use with the kitchen table. Well... as happens with faux leather - they started flaking and peeling... UGH!!! I have been looking for replacement chairs with casters (without arms) and not in faux leather. Ran across an ad for fabric covered chairs with casters a couple of days ago... and the bonus was they were on sale for $40 off this week!!! Since I need 4 chairs... that is a huge bonus to get them on sale. Got them ordered yesterday and because I ordered several the shipping/delivery is free!!! The kitchen table top is black/gold/tan faux marble so these will look nice with it.

6853707.jpg They will be here in about a week. dance4 :lovey3::girldance:

Then new Nora Roberts "Hidden Nature" book came into the library and I picked it up yesterday. Couldn't resist reading it last evening.... over half way through it!!! :floorlaugh::giggle4::floorlaugh: Will take it back as soon as I finish it as there is a long waiting list for it. And to add a topping to my good day... I found 3 books I wanted at ThriftBooks and ordered them this morning!! Whoo-whoo!!!

I managed to do some scrapping yesterday and today and got them posted. Just downloaded another kit and need to get a LO with it as it will be released tomorrow!!! Off to get it done. HAGD
