Daily Ooos: Wednesday, July 7

Hey, there my dear-Os!
Did everyone have a nice day yesterday? I did, it was relatively productive- laundry, menu/food shopping list, and ended the day with some yummy cavatelli and broccoli.
I spent a couple of hours in the backyard, weeding around the firepit. The kids are having the couples/BFFs over so they can hang with Tom a bit before they are all stuck in a cabin when they go camping in a few weeks. Figured that the weeds needed to be tidied and all of the leaves cleaned from the area. When I first went out, I was putting all of my tools back into my bag, and out pops Toad Friend. Chatted with him, and then went back over a few minutes later to grant the bag I needed to scoop the lawn- and he was inside the bag. I found an old clay flowerpot and put that on the steps and stuffed it with an old cloth work glove, a paper towel, and some leaves. I hope that he uses it as a little house.
I also want to name him or her but since I know we have a garter snake (found a snake skin in the pond garden area the day before) I don't want to get attached. I know the circle of life blah blah blah- but unless you experience your two very young children screaming at you to DO SOMETHING!!!! when they see a snake with the back half of a frog sticking out of its mouth--well you know that the circle of life isn't always pleasant.
They *still* say that I should have pulled the frog out of the snake's mouth. Blech!!!!!! (yes, they know I couldn't but they *feel* like I should have)

Busy day ahead for me-- I am off to the supermarket in a bit, then I have a Drs appt for a physical after lunch. It has been a long time since I have been to a Dr. and I am not looking fwd to it.

Kay- my dad sure is stubborn, has a head that is thick as a brick. Family trait, perhaps?
That was a good thing to have the installer come early, I hate waiting for things to happen at the end of the day, much happier getting it over and done with. Was he able to fix the ring for you?

@Cherylndesigns That was such a quick visit from Cam At least you know that he will be back in 2 months.
My heart goes out to the vets/people with PTSD too. If there was some way to have one main session and not have everyone on the street over the course of days light the fireworks- makes so much more sense. I ended up buying that pheromone collar that the vet tech recommended for Jaida- it came in yesterday but I hope it will help with the UPS driver!
Isn't it the best feeling when you see stuff growing!!?? I have a few "cucumbers" (less than an inch ATM) and a bunch of tomatoes. If they can mature before the chipmunks and birds get to them...

@nancyr how sweet that the kids are part of the family! Hysterical that they painted DHs toes!! It really is true that boys and girls play differently. I always swore that I wouldn't push them into gender-specific play items- but there would be Caitlyn, pushing along the hot wheels going beep beep. Scott playing with the same hot wheels crashing them into everything. I love how happy your family is!

@tanteva I hate that empty-brained feeling, happens way too often. Hope you slept well once you were able to fall asleep.

@felis I know how that feels, I will have my day roughly planned out and then my ILs will call to say they will be stopping by in a half hour. That throws me off for the rest of the day even though I enjoy having them here.

Yes, the Grow your own Alligator is one that you put in a tub of water and it expands. It says on the package that it will grow 600% but even if it doubles in size it will look cool floating in the bathtub.
I stole this pic from IG so you could see them- don't tell her I did! LOL It isn't the best one she has of them together but it was the only one on her public IG. Some of the ones that she texted me- where they are cracking up at each other are sweeter, but I wouldn't share any of them unless she said it was ok

Foggy brain still. Meant to scrap and chat a lot today, but we had thunder here. Also, it's been a news watching day, since we have a new governement as of 3 hrs ago. Tada! It's more or less the same we had before all this tantrum episode. Stupid people!

Won't be here much later on either, since my beloved England will DESTROY the evil danes in the semi final of UEFA Euro Soccer. We all hate the danes, ok?!!!

Tomorrow I'm working again ... you won't see much of me this week.

Oh, and Folke, the magpie baby, is practising his flying. Now he's learn to get up a bit into our rowan tree, and just throw himself out for a very short flight. LOL

And of course you have to name the toad. I'll name him for you ... how about Urban? Pronouned the Swedish way, of course. LOL

Chris @faerywings what an adorable picture!! Wow, are they ever CUTE!!! Yes, Cam's visit was way too short, but September will be here before we know it. I'm already plotting on how we'll get out of going to that wedding. BWHAHAH I just hope it's not a "command performance".

I'm foggy brained today, too. Don't know why - hope I get it together.

Hi there! I wasn't able to realize none of the potential of this day. I'm far behind with my work. Was try to scrap, but couldn't find the photo I was planned (roll, so typical for me). And I was in some philosophical mood until I was cleaning. Actually this is the best time when I can left alone with my thoughts, and I feels that the people underrated that a lot. You knows me, I'm much into these energy vibration and messages to the Universe things, so yep totally into the mood that “Clean space, clear mind.” So when I go in this philosophical mood I extend the cleaning unusual long, there is always this and that you can done outside of the To Do List, not necessarily urgent and always very time consuming. Sigh!
Tomorrow is the start of Crochet academy and one lucky winner will get a coupon for lots of yarn. I tried to visualize to be me, but actually I don't have inside feeling that this will happens , so I also planed the order I have to put for the yarn I'll need to do these projects. I know they said you totally can use your stash for that, but I don't have enough free yarn, I buy mostly for concrete project.


Cheryl and Eva, sorry to hear that both of you not feels in your best shape today! Is it because of the hot weather?
Eva I hope that you will be still able to enjoy the game watching! Great news about the baby bird!

Chris, I totally understand your need to keep her privacy! You know that my family is very strange and conservative about that too. But I'm on the opposite side, for me if something is not on Istagram it's not exists! They are such a cute couple, fit so well! And OMG she's so pretty, what a waste of opportunities to not be influencer and blogger!
Give to your's Toad Friend unisex name and don't worry too much, some day it will not be around (I hope just to move, not something tragic) and it's better to know for who you are nostalgic about!

good evening - yesterday was scary in that we had thunderstorms that were so bad it knocked the lights out in our downtown but fortunately the lights only flickered at home. Luther is so scared and I feel so bad for him. I just keep him close. I am watching game 5 of the Cup Final and it is tense even though I have no real team I am cheering for. I watched the Tour de France and wow those cyclists went up the mountain 2x and its over 6000ft high. Just as the ride was done I get a call from my oldest son and he says he has the day off. Why??? Turns out while working on a car he got rust in his eye and had to go to the emergency room yesterday and then today to the opthamologist. They got it all out and his site is still 20/20 so he was lucky. Since my DH stayed home we got to have lunch with him. It was fun and such a surprise. My DH cut the lawn so that was nice. Whew it was a hot day. Not looking forward to Elsa coming up from the South.

@faerywings Chris love the photo of the kids! Always good to feel productive. Did you not get any thunderstorms? Love that the toad has decided to enjoy your company. If he stays in the home you should name him. I have to say it would be worse to pull the frog from the snake if it had already started to digest it.

@tanteva Eva I watched the game and congrats to England. I had no idea you did not like the Danes. Hope the fogginess goes away. Get some sleep!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl hope your fogginess goes away soon. Maybe the heat. Hope you don't go to the wedding if you don't want to go. I sometimes feel that way but then when I get there and I see how happy they are that everyone came so maybe you will have a good time!

@felis felis yes cleaning can give one time to meditate. Hope it helped you! Yes there is always something on one's to do list.

It was a great game! Sweden was in war with Denmark several time between mid 1400s and early 1800s. I haven't forgotten! LOL Seriously - I don't really care. But I LOOOOOVE England!
