Good morning! How are ya doing today?
everything is fine here in NJ.

Ummmm...

Maybe not. We had a power outage and heard a transformer blow. Power is back on -- Let's hope it stays that way. It was ironic that as soon as I typed that sentence, everything was *not* fine for a second.
I am going to go ahead and post this now-- just in case the power goes off again

OK-- the Wed. Thread is open and ready to go. :groupchat:

How was your Fourth? My poor dogs are totally done with fireworks. Five nights of them going off and J is a wreck. Something beeped in the house this morning and the poor thing took off with her tail between her legs :(

I am on Replay Day Three. Yesterday was cleaning/weeding/dinner. Today is grocery pick-up/cleaning/yard work/dinner. I might go on a hike by myself. Gary isn't up to it and I really want to get out there. If I go, I'll take the easy trail to the beaver lodge and then turn around. I have my new binoculars and the Merlin App ready to go.

I have some scrapping to do as well and got to figure out dinner since I have no idea who is going to be around just yet. Caitlyn for sure. Scott and Sam? *shrugs* Not a clue.

Good news -- the power is still going strong so that's good!

HAGD!

Good morning ladies! Hope everyone had a good July 4. We bought a new car...well it's used but only has 21,000 miles on it and it has all of the bells and whistles. I really wanted a car that had the safety features on it and this one does. But I'll tell you the truth...I am completely overwhelmed by it. I need to force myself to drive everyday until I can get used to it. It's got cameras that show up with everything that you do and I find it a bit like watching TV. Anyhow, I am happy about the purchase.

And I got the groceries...so that is taken care of for awhile. I actually have stuff to cook for meals. Big news at the Slycord house when groceries are stocked. dance4 Other than that the only thing on the docket is work!

@faerywings hope the electricity holds up! A hike sounds good...except the heat index is already 93 and I'm dying sitting outside on the lanai. I love my Merlin app...it brings me so much joy. This morning I haven't seen any birds but I've heard a red shouldered hawk and an Eastern bluebird.

@bcgal00 I am so sorry to hear about the port strike. That seems pretty close to criminal with the way people are struggling today. I hope that Jen gets into someone about her knee quickly. I understand your ranting because I have started ranting about the US too. It's a sad world I think. :sad1:

@vickyday I would give a lot for 60 degree weather. And the view of your computer with the mountains is pretty spectacular.

@taxed4ever we will miss you bunches. But I sure understand how there can be too much going on. Enjoy the family time! And make sure that you continue to find some time on the lake in the kayak...with everything going on you will need a few calm respites.

@Cherylndesigns I'm sure that your day was wonderful! I love the idea of Roger's grand entrance.

Ok...time to go get myself ready for work. Which doesn't take long since I work from home.:floorlaugh: Two days in a row I'm here. Could I be starting a trend?

@LSlycord Hellllooooo!! Your Tampa trip sounds wonderful and perfect that Shaun went with you. My mama's heart is full for you ♥
I love that they are silly together.
HotBins must have been a really cool experience, like a high-tech treasure hunt. Gary would *love* that. Me, I'd prefer poking around the Aquarium. I'd leave him atHotBins and go there by myself. :giggle4:
I hope that your office gets finished soon. And that you got your groceries before the family went full-blown :furious::angry3::rollingpin1:

@vickyday The condo must feel refreshing with the cool breezes and that gorgeous view! I hear ya about the good old days of rollercoasters, I don't think I would be able to do them either, at least not one after the other like I used to.

@bcgal00 Yikes, the strike is going to be a huge and expensive hassle. I am crossing my fingers and toes that it gets resolved quickly. What a waste to have all of that food destroyed. :angry4: It really stinks when the average person always gets the short end of the stick and they always do.
All good thoughts to Jen that she is able to find somewhere to go to get help for her knee. My health insurance is like that too, there are so few drs that accept my plan, and I'm getting kicked off of it soon too. I had to re-apply this week and the kids' incomes count as household income so the state now thinks I have $$. :hahano:
The Texture Layer Style is under Bevel and Emboss. I didn't use the bevel, just the texture.

@Cherylndesigns Does Kinleigh's mom have access to a pool? I really hope that she does, because Kinleaigh is going to say "pool, pool, pool" non-stop when she gets home. :)
LOL about our day-confusion. I texted my friend yesterday to confirm I was cleaning on Thursday. She is the same as us with days/dates so I told her that it was Tuesday that felt like Sunday and she laughed.

@taxed4ever I am really very happy that you got out on the lake, you needed that downtime desperately, didn't you?
We will miss you here and pop in if you can.
I dunno, you can move in with me if you want to move to the US but you'd be risking your life in mass shootings if you did. We have had 11 mass shootings in July and sadly that number is outdated since there were more last night.
The news is very depressing all around.
The best thing we all can do is love on the people around us :flower: :cloud9:

Hope you all have a wonderful day, sending love to you!

Congratulations on the new car! Does it drive itself?

Good morning,
Not much happened yesterday. We took a drive around noon and ended up at the pizza place. They were slammed with vacationing families. We waited 45 minutes for a large pizza and an order of onion rings! It was good! Mark doesn't like crowds because of the constant ringing in his ears so we brought it back to the condo.

After his siesta yesterday we played games out on the balcony until it got too chilly. We moved the games inside and ate. Then he watched a Jurassic Park movie while I played Rummikub with my sister until bedtime.

Today we're going to look for a handmade arts and crafts shop to see if we can maybe get some ideas for wood crafts to make and sell. And maybe grab something to eat. I'm really in the mood for a good salad!

We will probably play some more games later on and pack up most of our belongings so we can be out of here by 10 tomorrow morning. And back to the heat and humidity we go. Hi ho, hi ho!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I will be taking Taz for his vet appt (routine) and then over to physio to drop off Jen. I'll go get groceries while I wait, then grab a coffee and read my book until she gets out.

@faerywings Hope the power stays on.

@LSlycord Congrats on the new (to you) vehicle.

@vickyday Sounds like you are enjoying your get-away. Hope you get ideas for crafts.

Time to hop in the shower and get ready to go. HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

I'm ready for this holiday to be over. We've had fireworks for so many nights, too. Chris @faerywings these poor dogs - they're so traumatized by all of this. We had Lila and Bailey last night and they were a nervous wreck. Thankfully, Daisy isn't bothered unless there's a really loud boom - I don't know what those are, but there aren't very many of those. Of course, as I predicted, Roger bought a huge box of fireworks and they were setting them off between their house and ours. LOL I watched some of them from the kitchen window, but I promised Chuck I'd come home in time to watch the Macey's firewords, so I didn't stay up at their house until ten o'clock, which was about the time they started the fireworks. I'm partied out - we've had a few days of partying and I'm ready for some downtime. Kinleigh's mom lives in an apartment complex, so they probably have a pool, I'm not sure. It will definitely take her a few days to bring Miss Kinleigh back to reality. Jordan has a pool where he lives, though, so when she stays with him, he will take her. It won't be an all day, every day thing though. Her poor mom.

Linda @LSlycord congrats on the new car! They're SO complicated anymore - kind of like an airplane control panel. Haha Braden just got a new Hyundai, and it has all the bells and whistles on it, too. He can control everything from an app on his phone, too. He It's not the real little one, it's kind of mid-size but gets 40 MPG so he traded his gas guzzling truck in for this to drive back and forth to school. He got it financed in his name - NO co-signer. He's had credit cards in his own name for a couple of years (got them on his own) and keeps them paid off and he has a pretty good amount of money in a bank account - he saves every penny he can - so they let him finance the car all on his own. He's so proud of that. Typical Braden.

Vicky @vickyday glad you've having a good get away. Have a safe trip home.

Trudy @taxed4ever you've got some fun, busy family time coming up. We'll miss you so pop in when you can.

Rae @bcgal I hope Jen gets the help she needs.

Well, it just started raining - woohoo - I don't have to water today (hopefully it will rain enough). It's raining pretty hard and is predicted for several days. At least it held out for the holiday.

Hugs to all. XOXO
