Daily Ooos: Wednesday, July 23

OMG-- what a day I had!! These little campers are the *cutest!!* I have mostly been working with older kids and I kind of forgot how tiny 4 yos are. So dang cute. I swear, their backpacks are bigger than they are.
Everything went well. The timing was off a bit but not in any way detrimental. That was on me. I forgot how long it takes little ones to move from one area to another. And we weren't really going very far, either but I love the slower pace and letting them explore. Two kids were shy and one who didn't want to get out of the car but as soon as I mentioned looking for worms- all good!

Gary texted me at some point during the session and the car was already done! I love the new mechanic we found. I didn't even have to drive there to get it. The weather was perfect so he walked over to pick it up.

Today my little group will be exploring the forest and making the owl masks that Debby shared with me. I'll try my best to get pictures of them.

Quick in and out this AM... Slept in until after 8AM - and so did DD#1 (she is still asleep). Yes, I did have a better night's sleep last night... only woke up once. DD#3 dropped by late yesterday afternoon for a visit with us. After supper, DD#1 and I watched "Operation Mincemeat" with Colin Firth on Netflix. I had seen it before but she had not.

So happy that you both got better sleep!

Changed my avi to a selfie from a few days ago at the rodeo, wearing my first-ever cowboy hat. D just got a pair of cowboy boots, he's excited to wear them. I might look into getting a pair too.

How did the turnips come out, they sound really good! I'll have to keep that inmind when the weather is cooler and having the oven on won't heat the kitchen too much. When we cooked all of the roasted veggies on Sunday, it was too hot between the humidity in the air and then standing next to the oven.

Up early today tweaking your lesson plan...do you work constantly??? Your mind does not shut off does it?

Nope. Once my teacher brain turned back on when I started this job, it hasn't turned off. It won't either. When I was teaching before having kids and all-- I'd be on vacation and see something interesting and take pictures of it to share with my class. I even did that on my honeymoon. LOL!
Fab news about DDs house, I bet they will be excited to move in soon!

You were not even close to doing what I was doing at 5 am hahah! So happy that you had a hugely successful time on the water!

Didn't make it in here at all today. Been working on bike pages, took an organization class with Anna, and doing some file organizing this evening. Stomach still on the mend. Hopefully tomorrow will be back to normal!

@faerywings Yippeee car fixed, good cute kids yesterday and a fun day collecting supplies to make masks....I'm so happy for you. Things are turning around and there is happiness in the air!!!!

Today is stow everything and break up camp then 2 hours to our next destination..a farm with animals and fresh local food store. Just one night there so we won't even unhook the truck. It's chilly here this morning but it makes a good night sleep but now heat is on so it warming up. 54 degrees out is like one or two winter nights in Florida

Great news on the car! So glad you found a mechanic you can trust! That's the only reason Mark kept taking ours back to the same mechanic.....he knew he would eventually figure out the problem!

The stomach is better today. Enough so that I will go to Ilene's and out to lunch.
The bike pages are almost caught up. Then I can start working on the ones for this year in real time....meaning I will be posting them to the gallery eventually! I wish there was a good motorcycle kit in here!

Good Morning,
Quick in and out. Need to get my shower so I can go to Ilene's for the day. We will eat out as always and then play in the afternoon. My stomach is better today. While out I will grab supper for Mark so I won't have to cook anything before church tonight.
Just about done with my lost bike pages! WOOHOO! Then I can start on this year's pages. Not too many so far because of the heat! My body does not do heat very well and becomes overheated very quickly....thank you, Dad!

We're sort of mourning over here. Not that I'm a super fan, but I gotta admit, Ozzy was something special. We watched a couple of videos on Youtube last night, and now I hear Urban is playing one of the records.

Guess it's part of getting older, your heroes start dying. It's been quite a lot the last couple of years.

The local food sounds amazing. I love locally grown, its so much tastier. Before too long you'll be back in FL with the A/C on full blast.

Yes, this 100%. Overheated and then cant do anything. Just feel icky. My hubs doesn't understand it at all. Once I get hot hot I feel like I might get sick or pass out. Thankfully it doesn't happen too often here, just when I sit out too long in the direct light.

Fishing was great! But oh my gosh my hands are killing me. Holding a 5' net on a long pole in the water. Ugh my hands are so cramped and hurts to move them. A couple fingers tingle from tight muscles. Almost cant hold the coffee cup. Gonna be fun today trying to get things done when my hands dont want to work. Off to shuffle over and get more coffee. Have a wonderful day.

It took me three days but I'm pretty much all set up on my new computer. I know there are fonts I'm missing but it's my own fault for not keeping track of them as I installed. I'm making a resolution to do better in the future (we'll see how long that lasts). I use OneNote to catalog my scrapbooking kits/products, and the new version isn't letting me work the way I'm used to, so I'm considering what I want to do about that. I may try to go back to installing the 2010 version if I can make that work.

It's turned out to be not quite as hot, not quite as rainy, so more typical summer weather. This I can live with. Although I'm jealous of @BoatLady at 50ish degrees in the morning! @faerywings I love watching the little kids explore -- as long as there's someone else around to keep track of them!

Not a lot happening this week, so I have no excuses not to catch up on some housework.
