I am asking everyone for some good thoughts for my mom today, please. She spoke with her cardiologist yesterday and he wants her to go to the hospital this morning which is very smart. --In fact, she just called and then had to run off to throw up again--
So yeah, I need some good thoughts for her. The Dr didn't tell her to pack a bag, but it wouldn't surprise me if she ends back in for a night or so.
She called at dinnertime last night and told me not to worry. Ha. Just now, she sounds a bit stronger than she had but having to jump off the phone to throw up again. That can't be good.

Don't worry, she says.

Caitlyn is angry and the moment, that she wants to be able to hug her. She is terrified about losing any of her grandparents and not being able to see or touch them again. I get it.

Yesterday was kinda silly. Caitlyn and I did listen to Rent on the way to the store. As we sang along, we changed some of the words to be more appropriate to current times. Instead of singing "when you're living in America, at the end of the millennium" we sang- "two decades in the millennium" Doesn't roll *quite* as well off the tongue. hehe. But it is weird how the play was written in the early 90s during the AIDS epidemic and so much is the same. And it was based on La Boheme which was about TB, IIRC. And in 100 years will get rewritten with COVID.

It was gorgeous outside and I worked on getting the dead leaves of the tiger lilies cleared out and trained up the morning glory vines. We gave J and W theme songs. Jaida's is Brick House and Whisky's is Superfreak. We didn't give one to Ray since it isn't fair since she wouldn't be able to hear it.

No plans for today, only waiting for updates from my mom. I told her to bring her cell phone and charger, I hope she listens.

It is could out right now, chilly too. I started a page yesterday so I think that will be first up on my to-do list.

Gratitudes:
-that my mom is willing to call her Dr and go to the hospital, this time last year she would not have
-that my family will keep me laughing while I wait
-vitual hugs

I am running late and feeling lazy so i am going to do some quick personal and then start to clean my house.

Trudy- I hope that today is a perfect weather day for you and your hiking group. I can't imagine trying to paint Transformers but I know Mason will be so happy when he gets it. I am relieved that Caitlyn will be going to school (going? Who knows, but "attending" I guess!)

Nancy- how nice to have a day for you and Luther. Oh wow!! That is crazy about your DS! I know that as of right now, they have no way of knowing if antibodies have any protection against reinfection but all of my fingers and toes are crossed that it does.
What are you going to read next?
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so exciting for your DS and his MG!!!!!!! :whoo:
Has he asked her yet officially? Any date set???
Sorry for being nosy-- but what wonderful and happy news!

Oh Kay, I am so sorry to hear all of what has been going on. That Dr is maddening!
I swear, some Drs really have God Complexes. You are so correct in standing up to him and for yourself.
If your DDs company is replacing signs for free, would it make sense to have one of her signs by your house just as a deterrent?

Ok one last (?) phone call from my parents. My mom is assuming that she will be there for at least a night. No idea if my dad will be able to go in with her. Although, he joked that if he isn't he can go home and call the plumber since the dishwasher is now broken.

Cheryl- I am like you, Ilike my hair long. It was about halfway down my back and last year I cut 5" off. That was the most since I thought it woyuldbe a good idea when I was on bedrest pg with Cait- thought it would make it easier. Not!
And yes-- we love it when you pop in, whatever day or time. Time has ab-so-freakingly-lutley no meaning anymore anyhow! :pound:
I am terrified by the stories coming out from FL. My friend's DD is moving down next week for a job at Sea World (she did three turns at Disney for the college program) and I'm worried.

Felis- How cute would it be to have Luther carry the rings? I love her happy news too!
I don't think there is a proverb, or not that I recognize.
Cait is def. not "housewife" material. Not even a little. I shoudln't say that, If she could stay home and own a rat rescue should would do that in a heartbeat.

Wow!! You and the new haircut are stunning. No that is not a compliment. That is a fact.
Gorgeous!!!!

HAGD!!!!

Good Morning everyone! A beautiful sunny day here for my hike, it will be quite warm too! I wish I could wear my shorts for this hike, but there is lots of stinging needle on this hike so long pants are highly recommended! Will also be taking my deep woods off, so I don't get any more bites and hopefully it will keep the ticks away too! I haven't had a tick on me since I was a very young girl, but you never know. So a quick in and out of here as I have to get my bag packed with my lunch and lots of water. It will be good to be out in the fresh air and getting some exercise!

Chris - Sending lots and lots of healing thoughts to your Mom! What a worry for you and your family! Hopefully she will only have to spend the one night in the hospital! Strange that you are having chilly weather right now and we are just the opposite. Things were the other way around last week LOL. Oh what a crazy world we live in!! Looks like we will not be opening our borders to the States for at least another month and if numbers do not get any better then I guess it won't happen then either.

Felis - I adore your new hair style!! You truly are a lovely, beautiful woman!! No wonder that guy wanted to date you! That is the honest truth!!! What a great idea to have Luther carry the rings for Nancy's son's wedding!!

Ok I better get going and get dressed and pack my lunch. Have a great day everyone! I hope you do something fun today!

Good morning Oozies. Just a quick HI as I've got a Zoom meeting in 5 minutes. I've enjoyed the last few days of wonderful weather but Thursday and Friday were just too hot. We're going back to that by tomorrow I guess. Next week will be my week-long genealogy class that should be on a college campus in Pittsburgh but will be in my too hot home instead.

good morning - I have done my morning walk and it was so nice. I met my Devils fan again and we had a great long talk about Devils. He was out walking his puppy. I love that we social distance. He was pretty funny. He comes from a city and is still amazed at the wildlife he see in our town. And our city is right on the train line so its not like we are country LOL. Saw lots of bunnies not much else. But at least it is not hot. I have to go open the windows. But the best news is I am getting my hair cut still have not decided if I will color it or not. I hate this mix of colors or should I say no color and color LOL. So my youngest cannot officially ask her to marry him until her divorce is final and with this pandemic all court stuff has been slowed down. But I think things are moving. So my book series is done and I am back to scrapping to catch up.

Chris the weather for the next two days should be really nice. The the heat returns for the weekend. I am going to enjoy this cool spell. I thought most flowering was done but on my walks I am still finding lots of flowers. I love the tiger lilies. I really like the songs for the doggies. I am sending really good thoughts for your mom. Proud of her for going to the hospital.

Trudy have fun on the hike! Glad your weather is good.

Kay OMgosh that is terrible about the doctor. They are to listen to you not treat you like a kid. That always annoys me. I would find a new one too even if across the city. And the alarm company should have to supply the sign! I can see why the day sucked! I have been reading the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. They were fast reads. I had watched the Netflix show and that sent me to the books.

Cheryl yes you are in the midst of the crisis. We in the northeast have been there and we don't want to go back. I like that we are taking it slow in reopening. Good luck to you.

Felis thanks so much for the congrats. But they have to take it slow. I know that for young people Covid is not so dangerous but I can tell you it was no joke. He never misses hockey games or work and he had to miss both. Yes he recovered but we (his dad and I) were lucky we did not catch it. I just wish that it was not passed so easy to pass to older more vulnerable people. But enough of that. I saw the photos. Thanks for posting. beautiful even though you want no compliments.

Gratitude

Just lost another long post!! UGH!!! Let's see if I can remember what I wrote...

I let my primary care doctor know that I needed a referral to a different GI doc at a different clinic and why. I was right not to trust him... discovered that along with my reflux RX, he ordered the "Prep" solution for a colostomy and book the OR for one!!! And to make matters worse, my BP goes up to 150+ every time I discuss or think about him! Good news is that goes back down 120 range when I get my mind busy with other things.

Got a call from the Monitoring company yesterday. They will be replacing the sign with no cost and will deliver it here within the next couple of days. Think they realized I was about ready to cancel the service and/or report them to the main company headquarters. It would cost $1000 or more to switch and replace all the monitoring devices in the house or I would do it. I may look into doing that this fall.

Chris... so sorry to hear about your Mom being sick. Hope the docs figure out what is going on with her quickly. And I understand Cait's feeling about wanting to see/hug her. It is so hard when a loved one maybe hospitalized right now. Had to chuckle over your dad's response about it if he can't go in with her...and calling a plumber to fix the broken dishwasher.

Trudy, hope you have a good hike as I know that makes you feel better. Hope the weather stays on the cooler side while you are out.

Nancy, yes... I have read [and own] most of the Virgin River series... plus several of her other series. Enjoyed them all. I am switching back and forth between re-reading Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters series and Linda Howard's McKenzies' family series. Both draw me right in and I can get lost in reading them for awhile. That reduces my stress level a lot. Sorry about the delay in the engagement for your son but understand... this pandemic has effected every bit of life for everyone.

Our governor has stepped back and rescinded the indoor dining as several restaurant workers have now tested positive. They can still do outdoor dining - putting up tents on sidewalks and parking lots and limited seating opacity. But with temps in high 90's-100's it is too hot to be there for very long. Yes, the heat wave is still going strong again this week. But we may have the rains/monsoon flow coming in this week and into next. The other change is now you must wear a mask whenever you are out of your house... not just in public areas or businesses. That means even when you are walking in your neighborhood and keeping social distance. We have a dramatic rise in cases when the restrictions were eased. This also applies to visitors traveling through. And 14 day quarantine for anyone coming back into the state even though they live here. Masks are needed even when going to a drive-up or picking up on-line orders. Since NM is surrounded by states with skyrocking cases, I understand her concerns.

Jean, glad to see you pop in. Sorry your house is so hot... hope the weather cools off for your area. Sounds like next week will a busy one for you. Enjoy the classes.

Felis, I like the hair... looks very good. Hope it makes you feel better.

I decided to roll my hair on curlers to see if I am happier with it. It gave it quite a lift and does look better... now to see how long it lasts. Don't want to have to roll it every day. But that might get me through until it is long enough to pull back and into a ponytail or bun. Need to get a few chores done now. CYL

Just got a message from primary care doc... she sent a referral to a different GI doctor and clinic. And it is noted in my chart that I will not go to the clinic where that idiot works.
