I hope that everyone is having a great day so far. It's only 7 am here and I'm hanging in. :D
I'm mostly trying not to freak out about a bunch of things - we are in the double digits in July. Yikes.
My knee is still not 100%. Or even 90%. I'm worried and trying not to. Yikes and yikes again.
Closing in on 2 months to go before the wedding. Yikes, yikes, and YIKES!
I spent an hour looking for shoes online and I hate them all. LOL I have to get shoes ASAP so I can get my dress altered. I emailed a list of links to Caitlyn for her opinions but she is out of her mind busy at work so I'm not sure when she will get a chance. Maybe I'll post some pics and take a poll here.

I just feel sort of adrift, IYKWIM?

I cooked a delish dinner last night. Vegan chick'n (tofu) and broccoli pasta. Real chicken for me and Gary. Plus vegan biscuits. I hope I have enough leftovers from the last couple of nights so I don't need to cook today. I am cleaning for my friend this afternoon and I'm nervous that I won't want to (read: Be able to) stand on my feet afterward. Yes, in case you are wondering, my knee is my new obsession. I spent way too much time googling knee pain yesterday. What if I tore my meniscus? Or a ligament? :desk3:
At least I am not to the point where I think it is bone cancer. Give me time... :lol23:
If I can step back and be objective, I know that if it is not the IT Band, it's most likely to be bursitis. I am prone to bursitis and have had it in my shoulders, elbow, and my hips. Chronic inflammation makes more sense than torn ligaments but once the crazy-brain takes over, there is not much I can do to slow my obsession until the pain finally goes away.

I have to get cleaned up before I pick up my groceries since I am going inside to the pharmacy. I will do a quick run of personals and then be on my way, bellybutton style :)

@vickyday The humidity is terrible here too. I went out in the yard for a little bit in the afternoon to trim back some of the flowers and I was dripping after only a few minutes.
How was the ultrasound? Any results yet? Lots of good thoughts to you. I hope you were able to keep busy and not think about food!

@JeanneMN I am paying bills today too- Social Security Day, woo hoo!- and I know that won't help my mood either ;)
So exciting to have a vacay coming up soon!

@AK_Tracy More coffee my dear friend :coffeedrinker:
Hope that the fasting was easier. How many days do you do it?

@taxed4ever oh no! I hope that the algae doesn't affect the lake and kayaking. Have a fantastic time on your hike today!
How are the boys this summer, enjoying the break? How is Heather, enjoying the break less than the kids? :D

@bcgal00 I bet you can't wait for the deck to be done. Hope you and all the puppies had a great playdate too.

@BrightEyes That's how almost all of my LOs with Foxeysquirrels products go for me-- completely different than how I started. I scrapped a page with her kits for your challenge and it had been a long time since I used her designs. I love them and hope she starts releasing kits again soon.
I don't know what I would do if I couldn't take NSAIDs. Tylenol does *nothing* for me. :/ I started off with taking Aleve every 12 hours but I'm down to 2-4 advil a day. At one point last week, I thought I was going to break out the Vicodin (leftover from surgery and it's expired but would help if needed). Thank GOODNESS I didn't need to do that.
(Grrrr-- see?? I am obsessed, this is all I talk about so shut me up, please! :censored: )
I hope that your arthritis feels better and that the massager does the trick!

@Cherylndesigns yay for the solar lights! I am proud of you!! Stubborn to keep at untangling them in the heat but ya did it!
I am going to look for the videos on FB.
Do you have hogweed? It looks similar to Queen Anne's Lace and can cause that type of skin irritation. So does Virginia Creeper. I have that in my yard and it's mixed in with poison ivy. yuck.
I hope that you can eventually get your vision into a LO, sometimes they need to percolate until it is ready to emerge.

@mimes1 So happy that your 2nd day was good too! You'll get your rhythm quickly.

Cheryl- love the work mantra!

Yes IKWYM.....when "things" begin to pile up, your worrying self takes over! Been there more times than I care to admit! Praying your knee heals with rest! Don't do too much bending with it, if possible, while cleaning today! Any chance of postponing the cleaning?

HA! All I did was think about food and water yesterday! I did keep busy running around, so that helped! The ultrasound results.....everything looked normal! Thank the Lord! The doc said to just keep an eye on it and if anything changes to let her know.
We have a heat advisory here today!

Good Morning to all,
Meeting Mark for lunch today and then possibly going to Ilene's for a bit. I won't stay long because of church tonight.
The ultrasound results from yesterday show normal fat and tissue, LOL! So the doctor said to just keep an eye on it and if anything changes to let her know. Thank the Lord!
No real plans. I have some skirt hangers coming today. I'm working on cleaning out my closet a bit. I ordered some nicer T-shirts from Kohl's that were on sale for about $5 to go with my good slacks and skirts. So I'm clearing out some of the things I don't wear that often to be replaced by the new items. I realized my skirts are hanging willy nilly and need organizing. So one of the places I went yesterday to keep myself busy (so as not to think about food...didn't work) was to Walmart to get some hangers for hanging shirts and skirts together. And, of course, they didn't have any! So I ordered them from Amazon and they will arrive today.
We stopped at KFC on the way home from the hospital yesterday. I ate while Mark drove! It was soooo yummy! I swigged about half of my tea first! I think I was more thirsty than hungry!
OK, gotta run!
Have a wonderful day!

Quick in and out today. It is my hubby's birthday - He would have been 88. Taking the day off to spend the day with memories of us together. I will probably print out LOs for his memory album as I haven't done that for several weeks. Also need to call my sister as this is also her son Patrick's birthday. Bill and Patrick both died in January 2018.

Good morning Everyone!!!! Its a cool crisp morning but will soon be warmer. Never HHH but it will be around 60 but overcast and feels like it might rain.

I just feel sort of adrift, IYKWIM?
IKWYM! I think its a woman trait. I don't know if men feel like this. Its weird. Almost overwhelmed yet not but not peace and calm. One event is over and yet another coming and the mind just spins to where you cant just relax totally. But you also cant put your finger on what. :hug4:
@AK_Tracy More coffee my dear friend :coffeedrinker:
Hope that the fasting was easier. How many days do you do it?
Thanks for the coffee dear friend!!! I need it!!! Fasting was harder the second day. I woke up hungry but I made it. Two days of 18 hour fasts. I do it when I need, no set schedule. Sometimes its the only way I can break the sugar, snacking, overeating. Just wish the scale would give me credit for my hard work but whatever, he's a jerk. :giggle4: Yes the scale is male. It gives hubs lower numbers all the time but always gives me numbers that creep up. Now the family is asking me to make apple fritter donuts so I am sure that wont help tomorrow with sugar cravings but will be yummy. And its apple so that's fruit which makes it healthy right? Girl logic!!
The ultrasound results from yesterday show normal fat and tissue, LOL! So the doctor said to just keep an eye on it and if anything changes to let her know. Thank the Lord!
YEAH! Thank you Lord for normal results! That's wonderful.
It is my hubby's birthday
:hug3: Oh Kay, I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating and remembering. The birthdays can be hard. :heartpumppink: My dads was two days before my birthday and Its so hard to get in celebrate mode knowing his comes just before. I love your plan to take the day for you and him, memories and printing pages. :hug4:Big hugs!

Today should be a bit simpler. Feels like lots going on and life getting crazy. My CT scan was good. Small bone spurs where the clavicle attaches in front, joint narrowing. Not sure why this would make it out of alignment but we shall see. Going to see a chiropractor and just make sure everything is in alignment and not slightly out of wack. Will be my first ever adjustment. That will be next Monday. Fingers crossed it helps.

Off and running, more coffee needed!!!

Good morning ladies. It is hot this week, 95 this afternoon but will drop a bit after today. The center has great A/C so we can still go to canasta this afternoon and then cribbage tonight, it will be nice and comfortable in there. I feel bad for our contractors who are outside working in this heat but they are probably used to it. No outside dog play at the field today, too hot. Remi could give herself a heart attack with her crazy exuberance. I will play some mental games with her indoors instead.

Talked to 3 new buddies who are into photography and we are all going to join the library photo club so it'll be fun to hang out together each month at the meeting and then arrange photo dates together. Living here just keeps getting better and better.

@faerywings Hope the knee gets better soon. Hard to believe the wedding is that close now. That is so exciting.

@BrightEyes Hugs for this bittersweet day for you.

@vickyday isn't amazon great! I need to look on there for a new toaster and then will check two local stores but I have a feeling the best deal will be on amazon.

@AK_Tracy My scale is the same. Darrell will cut back for a day or two of snacking and then show a 2-3 lb weight loss on the scale. Somehow that transfers over to my weight LOL. Hmmm....I suspect a conspiracy! I don't bake much and don't have sweets in the house except for a bit of chocolate but for me its the over-indulgence of savory snacks that are too high in the bad fats. That happens b/c of all the entertaining we go to and also host. So I try to make the best choices I can while enjoying myself but then at home now I try really hard to eat very clean and healthy (mostly vegan) with no night time eating, (dirty fasting b/c of the almond milk in coffee) then not eating until afternoon. At least by doing this I am not gaining and have managed to lose a few lbs but very slowly which is I guess acceptable b/c at least I am enjoying myself and not feeling too deprived. Ugh. Food stuff can drive my insane. WW, paleo, keto, THM, Mediterranean and vegan...I've tried them all.

I'm getting another coffee, then will shower and get ready to head out for cards this afternoon. HAGD everyone.

Morning everyone, well the hike is not going to happen for me today :sad2: . We have a contractor coming to look at our fence and decking this morning of course the only day he could come was today and in the morning. Oh well I didn't want to miss having him come here as our fence in the backyard is in bad need of repair. The neighbours beside us did a bunch of landscaping and it seems that they must have compromised the fence as it is now leaning towards them and is almost ready to fall over. They are such nice people, so its hard to be really mad at them, but... Anyway they are going to pay for half of the cost of repair. Our vinyl decking on both of our upper decks is curling up and need to be fixed, so I hope that will not cost us a fortune! Its going to be an expensive summer! Guess its a good thing that the kids and grands are not coming home this summer, we might not be able to afford to have them here LOL. So I guess I will have another day to try to complete a layout or two. Oh and work on my painting , which I am struggling with. I can't seem to get the colours right for the petals, but I will persevere. Its going to be another very warm day, so I hope the guy comes early before the heat really settles in.

@faerywings - It was Hunter's 7th birthday yesterday, he is growing like a weed and wants to be involved in everything! He has his yellow belt in karate, plays soccer, drum lessons, swimming lessons and now wants to take hip hop dance. What a kid!! Mason does not like group sports, but is taking drum lessons, and swimming lesson and is also going to agility classes with his dog Poochie. At least he is getting some kind of exercise. Yes Heather is not enjoying the summer break from school as much as the boys are, but happy to not have to make lunches for school for a couple of months! Kayaking might have to wait until the fall its too darn hot to be out there right now anyway. SIL and I are planning a little trip to Denman Island on Friday to visit a friend who makes amazing pottery, it will be good to get away for the day and catch up with her. Here is a link to her website if you are interested in taking a look.

@vickyday - Yes it seems when you are not allowed to eat or drink that is all that you think about! Glad to hear that your test came back as normal! Enjoy your lunch with your Mark today and hope that you have a nice visit with Ilene!!

@BrightEyes - Hope you have a quiet day with your memories of your sweet hubby!! Sending you loving thoughts today!

@AK_Tracy - Glad to hear that you will have a less crazy day today and that your appt with the chiropractor puts you back into alignment!!

@bcgal00 - Sure sounds like you are loving your new place to live! I am so happy that you are happy!! Its been scorching hot here too, but also a bit humid. Probably not that humid for you where you are. How nice that you have made such great new friends and your back deck is going to be amazing!!

Ok the guy is here to look at the fence, its probably going to be bad news for us and we will have to replace the entire fence, at least we will be splitting the cost with the neighbours. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! :lovey3:

Another THANK YOU, LORD!

Yes, it is, Rae! Sometimes too great and easy, lol! I also couldn't find my shampoo at Walmart, but guess who had it? So another delivery next day! Love the next day deliveries!
Ugh. Food stuff can drive my insane. WW, paleo, keto, THM, Mediterranean and vegan...I've tried them all.

Enjoyed my lunch with my Mark but Ilene's visit will have to wait until tomorrow or Friday as she got tied up with her grands.

Greetings from the third ring of Hell, er, Las Vegas! Picture this: me in the corner with the fan blowing on me cowering from the heat. That's me. It was freaking 98 degrees at 4:30 am when I went on my walk! I made it 30 minutes, but I'm a sweating mess now. I laid under the fan and drank a ton of water and then went back to bed until my dogs pounced me for a walk. Then it was out in the heat for another 10 minutes or so as I "gently" coaxed them to pee and poop QUICKLY!!! On Sunday we hit the hottest recorded temperature in Vegas - 120. Remind me why I live here? Oh yeah, that's right - my husband's family and job!

On the 13th it will be 6 months since I started my lifestyle change and the year of getting me healthy. It's going very well, with of course its ups and downs, but I feel better physically. I'm still working through some emotional things, but those situations are looking better too. I'm going to do a round up of weight loss, inch loss, and some of the things I learned these past 6 months. I am super proud of myself for all the changes I've made. I haven't shared any of this on social media, so none of my friends (except Cheryl) and only my immediate family (Mike's dad and sister) know about it or have seen pictures of me. I just didn't want the social media judgement. Seems fat shaming is still a big stigma. Last time I tried to diet I wasn't ready, and I didn't want to hear the "she gained it back AGAIN..." comments. I needed to protect my mindset. So you gals are the lucky ones to know!! LMAO

I am getting ready to go to Wyoming for a week, so i'm already planning my food and how I am going to get my exercise in. The hotel does have a gym, so that's good. I can still keep my workouts going.

Our "pee park" in our community has wasps, and both of our boys have gotten stung. It makes me SO MAD, but there isn't much we can do about it. You can't spray poison because the dogs who go there will sniff it and get sick or worse...so now we have to take them to the local trail to walk - and that's 3-4 times a day because they're little chihuahua's and have small bladders. If only they would pee in our backyard, but they see it as part of the house and they will not use it. God knows we've tried!!

There's just too much to catch up on in here, but know that I read every one of your posts and have sent up prayers and good thoughts when needed!

I've had great success with THM!! Love it! Dropped 60 pounds!!!! Was amazing. Then other health issues happened two years after and I have picked up half of it again, but I feel better then I would have had I not been doing THM. A quick fast when I over snack and back on track. But Lipedema is kicking my butt and that's a whole other issue.
Are we talking your back being out of wack? ;)
Well............. :floorlaugh: I'm gonna plead the 5th on answering that one :lol23::lol23::lol23:

Oh my gosh, yes!!!!! I was in Vegas 2 years ago at this time and it was triple digit high 90's and I about died. I'm so sorry you have to experience that.

Susie, I am proud of you! You are so beautiful! Your healthy journey is your own and no one should ever comment in the negative. I am proud of you for moving forward and doing what you need at your pace. That is a big deal! :heartpumppink::hug3: Congratulations on making 6 months! You are amazing! I love that youre already planning how to keep going while on vacation. That's 90% of the battle right there, having a plan.

Good afternoon all,

Lots to catch up with here. Chris @faerywings sorry you're feeling "adrift" - I know that feeling. That's when I just kind of wander around aimlessly and can't remember what I was doing. Haha. Then I give up and sit back down at my computer. Today is one of those days for me, too. I wore myself out yesterday - I really got overheated, but I was determined to get ALL of those lights off and I did it! After I got all of the lights off, I just draped them all over the tops of the bushes and plants in the garden. They'll just have to lay there until somebody can help me. They actually looked really pretty last night. I just love white lights anywhere.

Kay @BrightEyes sending you lots of hugs and love today as you spend the day in meditation with Bill, on his birthday.

Trudy @taxed4ever you guys have had a busy and expensive summer and you're right about the kids - they're expensive little buggers. I spend a ton when Asher is here or when I go there. Hope you get back on the hiking trail soon.

Vicky @vickyday I'm so happy for you that your test came back good. What a relief.

Susie @pachimac you're awesome, girl! You have been on such a journey to get healthy and I'm so happy that you've been sharing it with me! You've helped me, as well, you know. We keep each other motivated. I understand why you don't want a lot of people to know - too much possible negativity and you don't need that.

Tracy @AK_Tracy how did I miss that you were fasting? A guy friend of ours does 3 days fasts (I don't know how often) but he's lost at least 30 pounds. I think he's too thin and told him not to lose any more, but he wants to lose more. I semi-fast; don't eat much during the day periodically, drink lots of water and iced tea, and NOT eating at night is a must for me. As soon as I start that - boom - up go the scales. For the last 5 months, I haven't been very disciplined in my eating and I'm over it.

Rae @bcgal00 sounds like you kind of "fast" the same way I do. I think it's good to not eat once in awhile. Kind of stabilizes the system. I was eating whatever and whenever I wanted - right up until I went to bed. I CANNOT do that anymore. I haven't had anything today except water and tea.

Well, Adrienne just invited me over to dinner, so my fast will be broken. She's a great cook and always fixes a lot of food. At least, Roger is on low carb/low sugar now, so she tries to cook low carb.

Hope everybody has a great afternoon/evening.

XOXO

Because you didn't hear my grouchy attitude while I was fasting! :floorlaugh: I'm only allowed to do 18 hours max as I get WAY to grouchy and my family is like please eat! LOL So I stop at 7 p.m. and can make 1 p.m. then I am done. I need it help the inflammation I have from lipedema. I switched to Monk Fruit sweetener years ago an that made a huge difference. I dont wanna be super skinny, just not hurt.

Are you talking about Christmas lights that you took down yesterday?
Yes, it was good to get a normal report from the ultrasound! Thanks!

I don't want to be super skinny, either! I'm actually OK with my weight even though my BMI is a bit high. I'm OK with that! If I start having heart issues or diabetes issues then I'll start worrying more about it. With a BP of 118/78, I don't think I have too much to worry about.....yet! Even though IBS is a blasted nuisance.......I'll take it over some major disease!

Yep, we could be BP twins. I was 118/76. I'll take it. I dont mind my weight. I just dont like the shape as its hard to buy clothes. So over the next year I will be working on that.

No, I was trying to put up white twinkle lights and I couldn't reach the top of the arch, so I had to unwind them all and take them down. They're REALLY long strands, too. I just love twinkle lights outside. I have some on my arch, but they're battery operated and I wanted solar lights.

Yes, good news on your ultrasound.

Chris @faerywings thanks for the ideas on why my hands felt like they were on fire. They're ok today, so whatever caused it wasn't a bad thing. It was just so weird.

I know I have not been very active on the site lately and still will not be for at least another week. Life has gone a little crazy.
This Saturday my husband and I will be heading off on a long drive to visit his sister, Blenda. We need to have two overnights in Motels to get there. Blenda is dying of pancreatic cancer which was diagnosed late last week. She is not doing well so Ken wants to see her so he can say goodbye.

2024 is proving to not be the best year for my loved ones. Back in February my daughter lost her husband tragically. My daughter and children right now are in Calgary, Canada to catch up with my son-in-law's relations and to throw some of Michael's ashes up in the Rocky Mountains.

I so want to be more active in sharing in these threads so I hope my life will settle down soon.

I'm so sorry Anne Marie , pancreatic cancer is a wretched disease, and a sneaky one, the symptoms aren't very noticeable until it's too late. I'm glad you are going for a visit, and I pray for your safe travels, comfort for your aching hearts and a peaceful passing like my cousin had, in her sleep.
