I survived. I spoke to people yesterday and I made it out alive.

Admission: I bailed on calling the vet since I still have some Dasaquin pills for Jaida's bionic knee. I also decided *not* to cancel my LLMD appt for next week. Gary and I discussed it a bit and maybe it's a good idea to have a quick visit with her. I don't feel Lymey at all but maybe she has an idea of what to do about my sleep issues. My hands are still really painful too.
I got the kids' health insurance squared away and am really relieved that as long as NJ is under pandemic advisories, I can keep my health insurance through Medicaid.

Long convo with my mom and I wish I knew what to do to help her look more positively at things. Some of the things she is stressing over are pretty big. She and my dad have been trying to get a new door for the lakehouse and Lowe's is screwing everything up on their order. It's been months and they are out $3,000 and no door. That's big. But at the same time, they need a new landline phone and that is causing her the same amount of agita. She and my dad are trucking all over to the stores to find one but most stores don't carry them or have very limited stock. I keep telling her to look on Amazon and I will order one for her. This has been going on for close a month. SMH

Her birthday is Sunday and she doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere so I invited her up here. She "isn't sure" she wants to do that either (really, Ma???). SMH some more. Roll my eyes a bit too.

I am getting my surprise food order today. It's a surprise because they messed it up and I couldn't modify the order. I am not sure what actually made it through. I am also crocheting the scarf pattern and I am screwing something up. Not sure exactly what and I have ripped out and restarted it several times already.

If it sounds like I am frustrated with life, I am honestly not-- I am going Zen-- it is what it is. At least for now.:p

@LSlycord say hello to the robins for me, so jealous of your weather. The trip to St Simon's sounds refreshing and deserving, no need to get stuff done every day. When you get in time with the family for a nice day trip, that is all you need.
The book club group sounds really neat!

@vickyday this was worse than an insurance co phone call, this was to the state's administration dept for health insurance LOL!
Woo hoo on doing the dishes, Darn fairies are never around when you need them!
Congrats to Mark on getting so much done with the cabin!

@BrightEyes whew, always nice when you don't get the bad weather they predicted.
I am so sad that your sister's trip turned out to be an adventure in illness.
Hehe, my showers are the same, as fast as I can get in and out. If I stay in the hot water too long I have to literally count down to get myself to turn the water off. 3,2,1- Off. Shiver shiver shiver
Yay for the haircut!

@Cherylndesigns thank goodness that Alyssa and Ava turned around, that weather sounds awful.

@bcgal00 Enjoy your snow days with the pups!

Oh no! I still feel your pain! When we were getting medicaid assistance for my first husband who had cancer it was an uphill battle! I pray I do NOT have to go through that again!
Yeah, I know! Those darn fairies must've taken a longer vacation than Mark did, LOL!

Good Morning!
Quick in and out. DH is waiting on me to pick him up to go to lunch! ;) Priorities!

It is raining cats and dogs here today! Thunder and lightning....the whole 9 yards!

I'll be back later to chat some more.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was a blur. Got lots of chores done, played with the dogs and binged the rest of The Lazarus Project and started season 2 of The White Lotus. Today is a quiet day, house chores, menu planning, dog park and some scrapping.

Cauliflower is scarce here. I need to check a few other stores to see if they have any. Superstore hasn't had any in a few months. That's my replacement for potatoes and rice so hopefully I'll find some soon as I'm running out of frozen bags.

I was looking at my reading challenge list at goodreads. In 2021 I read 47, in 2022 I read 23 and I think this year will be around the same, maybe less. Its funny how I have more time but read less LOL. I think Remi has a lot to do with that :)

I think I'll make blueberry muffins today (ha ha...remember when I said that for about a month and never did it?).

@faerywings getting checked is probably a smart idea. I am so sad to hear how your mom is struggling. That is terrible about the door but unfortunately I understand that b/c we went thru a lot here this last year with getting purchases in and then getting service/install for them. That is the way the world is right now everywhere it seems. I hope they come to visit and she gets cheered up.

@vickyday Enjoy your lunch.

Remi is staring and whining at me. It is time to go feed the birds and play in the snow. She sure is going to miss the snow when it disappears eventually. HAGD everyone.

Does photography play a part in your not reading as much? I believe Remi IS a factor, too! Both are good, if you ask me! ;)
We have done things with cauliflower as a substitute for potatoes and rice, too. LOVE cauliflower mashed "potatoes" and cauliflower crust for pizza. Have even eaten cauliflower bread and cauliflower rice! Hope the scarcity of it is resolved soon for you!

Good Afternoon!
Back from lunch. We went to an Italian restaurant, Mama Mia's. I got their chicken philly sub and fries and a drink. Mark ate the regular philly steak sub, fries and a drink. I can only eat half a sub and a few of the fries. I send the rest back to work with Mark. He will eat it for lunch tomorrow.

The rain has calmed down a bit, at least! We could walk in and out of the restaurant without being drenched! Looks like the rain is here for the rest of the day at least, however. Our basement is probably getting wet again! Such is life!

Nothing on the agenda today. Don't feel like messing with anything. I might try another crochet pattern for the little miss that is due in May. Maybe I'll have more luck with it than I did with the socks, LOL! I'm not in a scrapping mood, either! I have a new puzzle dumped out on the table but I'm not in the mood to sort it. Guess I'll kick my shoes off and veg here in my recliner and sort through the crochet pattern for the dress.

Have a good afternoon!

Good afternoon ladies. I slept until 9 which is quite rare for me. Then I worked on a layout that is almost finished now. Syd got up and wanted to come over to the beach so that’s where we are now. Shaun is in class.

I feel like we are close to getting back to our rhythm but I will sure miss this girl when she leaves on Sunday.

I’m doing this update on my phone so I will be back for personals when I get home. Hope everyone has a good day!

Good afternoon, all.

Chris @faerywings glad you got your phone calls made yesterday and you're still standing. That must feel like a huge accomplishment. I'm sorry about your mom's "problems". Is she getting more depressed? Sounds like maybe she is and she's not looking forward to another birthday, maybe? Some people embrace birthdays and some don't.

I'm still looking for my mojo - I haven't found it yet. I'm struggling with scrapping and that's so not like me. I think I'll make a new siggy today and try to get on with it. We haven't taken our Christmas decorations down yet, we talked about it this morning and we're neither one ready. I think going away for all that time, missing Thanksgiving here and putting up the tree so late doesn't have us in a big hurry. Chuck said he loves all of the decorations and isn't ready. So, I'm not going to rush - maybe by this weekend.

I might try to get back in later, but if I don't - HAGD all.

I rice fresh cauli but also buy frozen riced cauli b/c sometimes the price is cheaper for frozen but lately I grab whatever I can find b/c of the scarcity of it. I like cauli mash. I put garlic, cream, butter, parsley and cream cheese in mine.

I want to do a new siggy, too! I got some stuff from Karen's shop today to, hopefully, give me some mojo to do something......anything, LOL!

Man! A visit to the beach sounds good right now!
I slept until 9 today, also! And I even went to bed before midnight! What is up with that?! But it probably had something to do with the fitful nights I've had lately!

Good evening ladies!

@faerywings I'm so sorry that your mom is having a hard time. Which of course makes it hard for you! Hope that the food order was not too messed up and that you got what you needed. Good news about keeping the insurance.

@bcgal00 I can't believe that you are having so much trouble finding cauliflower. I'll be anxious to hear if you got the blueberry muffins made!

@vickyday glad that you got a good night of sleep! The beach really was perfect!

@Cherylndesigns I like the new siggy! Maybe that was a first step back to mojo!
