Usually, I am complaining about how *fast* a month flew by but today I am shocked at how darn forever January was. I feel like I have lived through at least a decade of Januarys.

Yesterday was long too. And tiring, but what else is new?
Caitlyn and I spent almost an hour on the phone with her insurance company to see what part of her ER bill was not covered and why. The CS Rep had no idea and after a while of being on hold, he came back to say that he needed more research and would call back.
:wait1: Still hasn't.

But I got all of the carpets down here cleaned so that was a good thing. Brendan asked me to make some relaxing bath salts for his mom so I got started on that after lunch. Caitlyn wanted me to make him some of the deodorizing foot spray for him so I had both bottles of my premade blends on the counter. Wouldn't you know it- I added the foot blend to the bath salts by accident. I really should be making these things when my brain is tired. I mixed some green mica into and gave it to Caitlyn so she can soak her feet then started back at square one.

Needless to say, I didn't get any of my errands done so I need to run all over town this morning. I am not in any mood to do that but I backed myself into the corner and have no choice. Blergh.

After that, I am cleaning for my neighbor and I hope that his kitty will at least let me tell him Welcome back home. Usually, he just hisses at me. ha!!

I could go on complaining some more, but I will stop.
th

Wishing happy days to all of you!

Nancy- What a sight that must have been to see the dog and cat walking together. I can only imagine how happy Luther was to see so many of his friends outside. I wish there was someway I could get my dogs to walk on the street nicely. It will be a priority when the weather gets nicer. (as in over 60*!!)
Hope that the Devils got off to a good start on this stretch of games.

Rae- so cool that you won hockey tickets! Did you have D have a nice date night? That is fantastic news about your cholesterol levels!! What a difference a year makes in your diet/health. You are amazing!
Sending good thoughts to Jen- how did the meeting go with her boss? I would be very stressed if I were her too. It seems so wrong that they could demote her like that.

felis- good luck with wrapping up your month and looking forward to your long post soon!

Jean- Sorry that you got snow but hopefully it will be all gone. We are back into the teens so I am relieved that we never got more than flurries yesterday.
haha! You know me too well- there was absolutely no *way* that I was going to watch the SOTU. I watched the Inauguration Speech and swore never again. TV screens (and my BP!) would not be safe.

Linda S!! So thrilled to see you here! Yes, both of my "kids" are in college. They commute so I get to keep them home with me a bit longer. Cait is in her last semester of community college and then will transfer to a 4 year in Sept. Scott is going the same route but it has taken him a bit longer since he changed his major a bunch of times. Now he knows what he really wants to do and feels good about it- He is an Environmental Sci major but wants to focus more on ecology. He loves being outside in nature.
We have three dogs now. One is 12, the second just turned 3 and then we rescued a puppy after Hurricane Harvey. She will be 1 in Feb. Yeah, we are crazy!
How awesome to be bringing a puppy home in the spring! Our 12 yo was like that for us-- she was the "transition" dog when my first baby was only given a few month to live after her third cancer diagnosis - she ended up living for another 5 years LOL
That is going to be a really sweet mix!
Are your kids in HS now? still doing sports? Time flies!!
Oh, I just saw-- you are still crazy busy with the kids' activities. Good for them!!! And lots of sanity and energy to you!

xoxoxo!

good morning - I got up early to see the moon. Oh My was it gorgeous. It did not turn too red while we were out and boy was it cold only in the teens. But glad I saw it as it has not happened in over 150 years. Well my Devils remembered how to play and defeated the Sabres 3-1. Taylor Hall made a huge difference and scored the GWG. But my starting goalie is still injured but my back up Kieth Kinkaid did a great job. But now he has to face Flyers and Penguins. Scary good teams. But the best game was watching the brand new expansion team the Vegas Golden Knights defeat Calgary by scoring 3 goals in 49 secs, and this was done when there was about 2 min left in the game. The shock on the faces of the bench, the coaches and the fans was priceless. Cooked a really good dinner last night. A salad with a avocado, oranges, radish and collared greens and the dressing was my favorite a spicy tahini dressing. Again nothing left over. Tonight though I am going out with my girlfriend to Panera's. I do enjoy my night off from cooking. They do make good tomato soup.

Chris That is something about the insurance company and not even being able to find the claim. What a waste of time and then for him not to call back. One of the things I should do better that my son does is make sure I have the name of the contact so I could get him back. I am sure you do that. January went fast but this last week of January is going so slow. Hope the cat does not hiss at you. The after cleaning hope your errands get done.

Felis look forward to your post after the end of the month.

Rae OMgosh that is terrible about her job and the way management will not take life happenstance in to how they treat their employees. Sending good thoughts for Jen and for Bailey. I know as organized as you are you will figure it out if you have to. Congrats on the Vancouver win. I did not stay up to see it all but saw the highlights this am. So he was not bad luck!

Jean glad the snow is gone. I read the NYTimes follow up on the SOTU and according to the Times there were several errors. That is why I don't watch because I don't trust.

Linda welcome back. Your life sounds busy. I agree scrapping does make us happy! And I cannot say enough just how happy I am at having taken my dog to a trainer. It was expensive but Luther is 119 lb German Shepherd who I would not be able to walk if he and I had not been trained. Luther is a doll but he can be stubborn when he does not want to do something. Cracks me up but dude I am the boss. Turns out Luther is also allergic to many food things so my boys do not feed him much but still they want too!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. popping in quickly to say hi and then need to get a few reports done for work right away.

Had a blast at the hockey game last night. Took a bunch of phone pics so will scrap some of them soon. Unfortunately, I indulged and ate some popcorn and feel crappy this morning (it started halfway thru the night) so, just like the pizza I had awhile back that tasted so good at the time but made me feel terrible later, it looks like corn is off the table too. Its just not worth it.

Jen has made a compromise with work so hopefully they've resolved it. Time will tell. She won't be going for anymore Saturday seminars but D and I will try to go in her place as often as we can and then will bring B home for overnight visits. She's not coming this wkend but maybe the next.

D got his pay cheque and its only 1/3 of what it normally is (He's part commission, part salary) as they made a mistake on his last cheque. We didn't know it b/c it also included his yearly bonus and somehow it all got screwed up. So, the next two weeks will be frugal ones for us.

I hope you all have a great day and I'll come back later to read everyone's personals. BFN

Good morning everyone... I am still in Courtney and just said goodbye to the kids as they head off to school with their Mom and Dad today. My son will drive me to meet up with DH in Nanaimo after he gets off of work today. He only goes to work until 2:30 and my DH works until 3:30, so we will wait for the kids to get home and then say our good-byes together. It has been a very busy week and yesterday was full of activity for the kids. Isaac got to go cross country sking with his grade 4 class and they had a lot of fun! Sadie stayed after school at WeCare and then I picked them up at 3:45 so that we could get to the pool for their swim lessons. I had to run to airport while they were swimming and pick up their Mom and Dad, then we all came back and had supper. I also got to have a nice coffee with an school friend who owns a beauty salon here in Comox. So nice to see her again! It has been many years and when we were in elementary school, we were joined at the hip. She moved from my hometown of Youbou to Comox when we were in grade nine and tried to keep in contact, but life got in the way and we drifted apart. So there was a lot of catching up to do! It was so fun, because it was like we were never apart and just felt like we just picked up where we left off all those years ago! We have vowed to keep in better contact, with Facebook etc. it is so much easier these days! I also did some house cleaning for my DIL, vacuumed up all of Storm's dog hair and washed the floors, did some laundry and made a Lasagna for supper for them. I did not have it as it is not Keto. Oh that was another thing my friend and I had in common, she is Keto too!! So we talked a lot about that also. :becky: Stormy and I got in a couple of walks and so today it will be more relaxing as Storm is at Doggy Day Care today.

Chris - I have always felt that January is the hardest month to get through, it seems to last forever!! Then February is a shorter month and seems to fly by. Sorry that you are yet again having to deal with insurance issues!! Does it ever end?? I did not watch the SOTU either I am horrified when I hear him speak, he is so not a good speaker! Hope you can get your bath salts etc. finished up today without any mishaps.

Nancy - Nice to hear that your Devils have remembered how to play the game again! Wish I could have seen the moon better last night, but it was pretty cloudy here, so only got to see a bit of it every once in a while, but wow it was big and bright! Another amazing Blue Apron Meal for all of you! Have fun with your girlfriend this evening! You are one lucky woman! Enjoy!

Heather is facetiming me so I gotta go for now, but back soon to catch up! :bolt:

Ok, I'm miss much so let's make a personals. Then I'll post about me into the new month post, because I want to start on clear! :ranger:

Chris, I hope you got your errands done! I'm wondering why most people expect cats to be huggy and kind, they are predators in its essence, so I I would not force my luck with your neighbor cat :), hope you aren't come back home with scratches :D ! Totally don't worry about Floyd! Till he is surrounded from humans, will be totally OK! I know from one couple which leave their cat alone whole day, poor lonely baby! Floyd have enough friends to distract him. You are so much like me, so I know exactly how you feel because right now you can't get another cat! But the things are what they are! I hope in bright future you will can take second cat and I third dog, but for now we just can't give more than that we already do! I hope that at least Caitlyn will could resolve the problems with the insurance company!

Nancy, It would be so fantastic if you could watch this game at Switzerland! Is this is only a wish or you have a real plans to do it?! I hope you'll could! Oh, I just adore this story about cat on a dog walk! I can imagine some of my cats with these breastplate, but when the Street cat Bob do it why not?! And James Bowen is shows many times how much Bob adore this walks. I bet you got lot of fun in your night out! This isn't the same girlfriend that comes only by walk everywhere, or is it?!

Trudy, Oh, so nasty about your long post! Yoyr stories for the time with the kids and Stormy makes me to smile so broadly, you had so much fun! And your husband to drive on these dangerous roads, WOW! But I understand your needs to be back to the routine!

Jean, I saw your LO with the lighthouse, you are change your hairstyle, but not other changes, even from this distance I still can figure out that this is you. A large room for your husband group sounds like good success! Hope it's going warmer as you was hoping!

Sharon, I was thinking of you before few days. How is your back pain?! Better, I hope!

Linda S, I would love to chat more with you! Hope to stay at our Daily topics! I'm SO impressed from your Therapy Dog plans! I want to know more about that! Do you have previous experience, from how long you are in the program, and everything that you would and can to share! I'm from East Europe, so we don't have such a things like Doggy Day Care or dog trainers, but we DO have experience with dogs trained to help blind, deaf or diabetic persons (sorry if these words are inappropriate for their disability I'm not sure how to translate corect these conditions). I mean I know people who train them. But I'm felinology, so fostering homeless cats. I know that have a project for cats wich to help to autistic kids, but I'm not familiar with it, unfortunately!

Rae, poor Jen, pfft, this is lose/lose situation if she don't come on a seminars will looks like she don't care enough, but if she lose her and income and home B will feels so bad that is mess up her life too. Hope Jen, to can find some work with free weekends before to left her current job!
