brrr again!!! Too cold!!! Forget about how many days til spring, I want summer, dammit!!!!
:p

Who has any fun and exciting news to share? (I know Linda S-- Maui!!!:pound:) I am in that mid-winter funk. Every day seems the same. Cold and dark in the am, bundle up and shiver all day and then cold and dark in the PM! I feel like each day is just a blur of boring-ness.

And yuck!! I don't know what to do about signing up for the lake/beach this year. There going to be raising the rates- by a lot. $50-60 for a family membership and I can't remember what the individual member ship is going to be but it was a lot more than I want to spend. It was well over $100.
I guess I need to talk to Cait and see if she is going to be at all interested in going. But I need to put my feet in the sand and sit in the sun, so its time to scrape the pennies! My parents usually help with the fee but they have helped us quite a bit with meds this past year that I just hate to even say anything to them.

I am off to ShopRite in a bit (and there was much rejoicing. yay.) Then my mom is coming up after that. For Christmas she kept asking what I wanted so I told her that I would love it if she made me some meals. She is bringing up home made homemade acini bebe soup- (beef and tomato broth with tiny pasta), eggplant parm, taco meat, and a meatloaf for Gary and I. She is amazing!!! I invited her to stay for dinner too. Caitlyn misses her and wants to spend time with her, which you know my mom totally laps up! Its a win-win for everyone. I invited my dad too. He has to go and check the heat and pipes at the lakehouse and I hope that he will take the long way home and meet us at dinner time as well. I love my family. I really do.

I spoke to my BFF yesterday after she had another "incident" with her mom. Her mom is crazy. Not in a medical way- but so seriously self-centered it sometime amazes me that my BFF is so much the opposite. But I guess my point is that again, I am so incredibly blessed to have great family and I hope that I never ever take them for granted.

And as well- I hope that I never take my O-Fam for granted. You are all such amazing women! Truly. When I think about all that each of you go through and how strong you all are- and then how happy all of you are to share kindness and wisdom (and a bit of tartness on top, Phyllis!!) it makes me so happy to be part of this group.

Oh look, I wrote another novel...

Better get going before I bore you all to tears.

xoxoxo and have a fab day!! Warm sunny thoughts~~~~~~

Personals:

Phyllis- too cool, too cold!!! 7* this morning, not counting wind. How about you? Bet you have that fireplace cranking!!!
You original windows sound like our original windows- you'd get snow/ice inside the house. LOL We still have 4 original windows in the house and I sometimes wonder why we didn';t get them all replaced when we did the addition, then I remember that we had a super-tight budget. Hence the plastic wrap!
Why do I get this image in my head of you standing over your hubby while he is sleeping whispering your "Retirement Rules" in his ear? buhahaha!

Laurie- long johns!! I need me some of them!
and horizontal tinsel- you know the drafts are bad then!

Tery- how can you tease me like that??? 75*???
Hope you are having a fab day!

Nancy!! How did the Devils do? Bet you didn;t care at all, just that you were there!

Nana- how is Mike doing today? I hope that he misses the stage where is is feeling good enough to be a PITA but not good enough to help :D
Hugs to all of you

Trudy- that fog sounds creepy!!!! Good reason to use limes not lemons. :)
My house is like that now. It was originally a small summer home in the 1950's and the family just plopped on additional rooms as they saw fit. Done very wily nilly to be technical. You can't put a full blowl of soup on the one side of the dining room table or it all spills out. hahahaha!!!!! And as the house shifts, certains doors close on their own or need extra pushing to close, depending on the day. It adds "character" right?

Hope you find you mojo- mine still seems to be missing.....

Chris, it's 1 degree here. crap. i am SOOOO done with this. of course, the furnace keeps coming on, even though the wood stove is going. so i keep squirting salty water up my nose to stave off a nosebleed. i have a humidifier going 24/7, a humidifier on my furnace and a pot of water on the wood stove but i still feel dried out. that seems to be one of the hallmarks of getting older. the environment sucks water out of you any way it can. :mmph: did you get any snow yesterday?? there was none in the forecast, then 2" of the stuff showed up yesterday evening. it was snowing like a B*&^% outside my window, and when i went to look at the radar on the Weather Channel, NOTHING was showing. :crazy:i'm starting to believe that there was a giant snow cloud right over my neighborhood and nowhere else. even the salt trucks took forever to do anything, and they're usually on the case really quickly. i'm imagining that it wasn't even SNOWING where the trucks and guys are kept and someone called them and said: HEY!!!!

Terry, 75 degrees is just rude!!:lalala: i'm like Chris. this is the time of year when i'm cabin-fevered, sick of winter (though we've had a pretty easy one so far) and dying to be sitting on a patio in Arizona, looking at my orange tree.

Trudy, TG someone else has the same trouble.
Mine needs to grow a hobby too!!
what MY husband would do if he doesn't get a hobby is alternate between about 5 things:
1. eat
2. sleep
3. sit in "his" chair and read every book in sight
4. lift weights
5. chop wood

Nancy, i haven't seen the scores yet, but hope the Devils won. unless they were playing the Pens!:becky:

Nana, hope your guy is feeling better. for his sake and for YOUR sake! i just loved Jaid-a-bug's tune. it's stuff like that that tend to make all the hassle of kids worthwhile. sounds like a scrapbook page, complete with her all dolled up in her costume!

well, i've got a bladder infection, out of the clear blue sky. taking antibiotics and microwaving my grain-filled heating pad a lot. a really CRAPPY night's sleep. <- NOT me.... when hubby left this morning, i told him that today was looking like a NAP DAY. hub's in the middle of a trial, prosecuting a guy who thought he was smarter than the rest of us (and the government hounds at the IRS) and tried very hard to evade taxes and thinking he was a genius. some advice: DON'T ever think you can make a convincing argument in a court of law that the income tax is illegal. 'cause "legal" will come after you and put you in jail.

OK. gotta go do something productive. there must be a closet to clean somewhere in this house....

stay warm. do art.

morning O family!

Chris--not real good news hear. Going to the city today to pick up my new glasses. Wonder what the world will look like when I can see better! You are so lucky to have your mom cook for you. Such a treat to not have to cook!Sorry you have to bundle up and shiver. I'm wondering if we need to put our AC on today!:)

Phyllis--boy you are having a time with it lately. Now a bladder infection! Yuck! Hope you get better soon.

Nana--hope your hubby is doing better---for both you and him. Nothing like a sick man.

Laurie--I really need some of your motivation to work out! You inspire me!

My sister came in last night--just for the night. She came to see her daughter--the niece I mentioned was having trouble. She didn't get in until 10PM and then we stayed up way too late. Had trouble getting up this morning!!

I'll be heading out of town tomorrow to work for a couple of days. Actually, on Friday I have to attend a funeral. The SIL of one of my docs passed away yesterday. She fought a long hard battle with cancer for over a year. Makes me stop and think about my own mortality---two people have died recently that are younger than me!

Today-supposed to be warm, like almost 80! Then we have another cold front coming through later in the week and the temps will plummet.

Do something fun today!

Good morning - Thanks to all for asking about my Devils - It was an awesome game the home opener and Devils defeated the Philly Flyers 3-0. It was the 120th shutout to extend Martin Brodeur's NHL record. It was so cold standing waiting for the train but so worth it to see the game. It was fun because my whole family was at the game and a friend of Chaz's came too, a cute young woman (love to see women fans). It made the rides on the train so fun.

Just like all of us in the midwest and east suffering in the cold. Woke up to 11 degrees. Phylis you are so right it is so drying. I guess I am just thankful I dont have to go out if I don't want too.

Phylis hope that bladder infection goes away soon!

Nana - hope your hubby is getting better - men just dont do sick well!

Terry you temps sound so so good. Enjoy!

Chris sounds like you have a great extended family! I so wish I had someone to cook for me and Laurie I love Chipolte!

Have a great day!

Happy Wednesday all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, Chris, what on earth do you have to sign up for the beach for? I totally don't get that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only exciting news for today is I'm finally getting my hair cut today. It's just about down to my arse (it grows quick) I'm going to keep it long, but getting it layered cuz it's too thick and when I shower it's sooooooooooooooo hard to comb out :( uggg hate that. So hopefully the new cut will help!
Well hope yall have a fantastic hump day!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all you lovely "O" ladies!! Slept til 7:30 this morning, my day off and I slept like a baby!! I know I will pay for it though either tonight or tomorrow night. I can't seem to get two good nights in a row?? What ever happened to those good old teenage days of sleeping until noon!! Youth really is wasted on the young!!! (one of my mother's favorite sayings).

Chris - Wow! You really do have a fabulous mother! I am sure you will never take any of your family members for granted, that is so not you!! Like Jen, I don't understand why you have to sign up to go to the beach?? I think you should just come out and stay with me for the summer and you can hit the beach whenever your little heart desires no cost except the gas money to get there. Oh and of course the flight out here  Tried very hard to get a page done yesterday, but sadly my mojo is still out for a walk somewhere :hurt: I want it to come back to me!!

Laurie - Chipotle sounds good, however I have never tried it, so now my curiosity will get the better of me and I will have to google how to make it!!

Phylis - At least your husband would lift weights and chop wood!! Mine would just sit and become a blob on the couch!! I talked to him last night and asked him what the heck he would do if he was retired, he shook his head :noidea: I told him straight out that there is no way he was just going to sit in front of the TV until he died!!! :nono: But I got no reaction from him ??? I give up!! Hopefully he will work until he's 80!!! LOL
Sorry you have a bladder infection, those are the worst!! I used to get them all the time, but started taking cranberry pills (costco) and haven't been plagued with one for a long time. Hope you feel better soon!!

Terry - Nice that you got to visit with your sister! Hope that things improve for your niece!! Stop rubbing it in about your nice weather, we are all green with envy!! LOL

Nancy - Sounds like your hockey game was a great time! How nice that your whole family got to attend! A great way to have family bonding time for sure!! Even better when your teams wins too!!

Jen - Nice treat to get your hair done!! Hope you haven't been freezing your butt off out there, it sure has been cold on prairie!! Did your hair change after having your baby? My DIL's always went very, very dark after her babies, it was weird to see her hair almost black, when she was very fair haired before.

 hi Nana, wherever you are! Hope your hubby is feeling better! I loved your little bugs song!! Made my day!

Well I don't have much to do today, hopefully some scrapping, I keep saying that and nothing ever comes of it?? Some groceries to get later and hopefully a nice long walk today, the fog has finally lifted and we can see past the other side of the lake again. Have a great day everyone and like Phylis says...do Art!!
