Don't read this unless you want to listen to me complain and stress a bit more.
Caitlyn woke up soon after I posted yesterday's thread so we went up to her room to play with the rats. heather was up there too and she was snuggling on my lap when Cait noticed that the skin around her ear was yellowish. I flipped her over and looked at the skin on her stomach and that was yellowish too, as well as her gums. I called the vet as soon as they opened and she has elevated liver enzymes which is what I expected. There is no way to figure out the cause unless we get an ultrasound done.
I opted to do a round of abx and liver support meds and we will have her blood retested in 2 weeks. On top of that, we noticed that she has fleas. How does an indoor only cat get fleas in the middle of a frigid winter?
$400 later, I walk out with a sick cat, meds that may or may not help her liver and flea meds for 3 dogs/2 cats.
Scott tells me soon after I get home that he is having a hard time adding one last class to his schedule. He only has 10 credits right now and that throws off his graduation date. It also makes us lose a lot of our financial assistance since he is over 21 and that will make him a part-time student.
Caitlyn's car is ready to be picked up from the shop (only for the airbag issue, we still don't know what we need to do about the windshield) and that is another $400+
Today, Cait and I are dropping Clover off for her surgery and vet that is doing that is the small animal expert in the group so she will tell us what to do for the rats if they have fleas. Caitlyn didn't notice anything on them so that might mean that they don't.
Yup, that is it, that was my day yesterday and today. I only want to put my head on my desk and cry but I am too damn tired to even do that. :hurt:
At least when I am cleaning for my friend today I won't have to think about anything happening in my house for a couple of hours. At least there is that.
If anyone has gotten this fay (and wow I commend you for that!) and has some good thoughts to spare, we really could use them here.
xoxo
