39 Days Until Spring!!!
(and 3 hours/59 minutes/56 seconds but who is counting? :p )

It was light out still at 5.30 last night. It is so much nicer when it isn't pitch dark when I am cooking dinner.
Every day is a bit longer and I am sticking to that concept like SuperGlue.

Thank goodness my back is feeling better. Not 100% but when is it? I am cleaning today so I better be careful. I was good yesterday, Scott asked what he could do to help around the house so I have him do a few small things for me before he went outside and built a windbreak by the shed. I swear that guy does stuff just to make cold. hahaha!! I don't think I did much of anything else, I got my groceries, ran some errands. I uploaded the page for the Sketch challenge. All pretty boring stuff.

Who had that I was going to get called back for the heating assistance before Gary got called back for the washer?
Well. bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzp. Wrong answer! But only on a technicality. *Gary* got called by the *electric company* about the heating assistance and we still have no word about the *@$%$ washing machine. The electric company said that I need to call the state so I took over that again. I called the state who told me I needed to call the county (She helpfully gave me the same number I had been calling the past week *G*). At least this time when I call the County, I spoke to a real live human. They have my application and it is still processing (I mailed the app in August!). They had to send my info to the state since I don't have any income and there is nothing to do but wait. It has never taken this long to get confirmation of that. It is usually done by December. I am guessing that it got held up when Omicrin hit NJ back then. But at least I know that we didn't get denied or the app was lost. Cross off one BIG item off of my Worry List.
(pencil in me worrying how I am going to pay the electric bill until the assistance clears but that's workable)

Speaking of which that is the biggest to-do for today, paying bills., then I am off to clean for my friend.

Wishing everyone a super day!!!

Good morning. Yesterday got some doctor's appointments scheduled. Why is that such a long ordeal? (Not really expecting an answer. At least it isn't as bad as the electric ordeal that @faerywings you are going through. Good grief! That's pretty much what I say about everything now! I also managed to complete all of the paperwork for the new job.

My cousin is in Orlando this week for a work convention and they have a free day so they are going to meet us in St. Augustine for lunch. I am so excited. She was the baby of the cousins so she is 10 years younger than me but we are fairly close in spite of that and I don't think that I have seen her since before my dad died in 2017. So I am excited!

@RJMJ So sorry you are dealing with the cold and snow. I could never live in CA where it is cold and snowy all of the time. I bet that all of that icky weather makes your back feel worse too.

@LSlycord That s wonderful that you can sleep in and hopefully that will continue after you start working again. I am thrilled that you can do so much from home these days. How did Andie do at the vet? I saw the pic of Decker and Hayden playing tug!! yay!!!!! Sounds like he is fitting in very well.
ROTFLMAO-- that pain quote-- oh so very scrapable!!

@BrightEyes I bet you and the Red Hats had a wonderful time together, I am so happy that you registered as a new group. It must do you a world of good to get together and chat and laugh.
Hmmm- we are all very good about hurting ourselves doing things we probably shouldn't be doing. How is your back today?
I am chuckling over DD#3 wearing PJ pants and having to get up while on camera. LOL

@taxed4ever I am crossing my fingers and toes that the weather is good for your hike. Is this the first group hike since before the holidays? Have fun and don't push too hard.
I bet the kids will be very happy to get their cards and chocolate. I am in the same rut, it takes forever for me to scrap a page. I like to get them done in one sitting/day or I forget what I did.

@LSlycord nylons!! I don't miss those days!!!
100% with you on everything you wrote about community college. It was never considered as an option back when I was in HS either. It was where the kids who "couldn't get into a 4 yr school" went. Meanwhile, I brag about Cait who graduated from CC with a 3.4 GPA, then from Undergrad with a 3.96 GPA, and is looking like she is going to grad from the MSW program with higher than that. Definitely not b/c she couldn't cut it at a 4 yr school. Shaun seems like he is going on a similar path and Sydney too. :)

@Cherylndesigns gah!!!! Tease me like that!!!! Fine!!! 65*-- BAH HUMBUG to you!
:D:D:D:D
Glad you got up from the floor without falling over again. You just never know how that's going to end, right??
I hope that Scott is able to try the sap tapping. Even if it doesn't taste good, it will be a neat project to try- and something he can talk to the kids about if he leads a sap tapping hike/tour.
If Caitlyn's tutu ever shows up on the skellies, I hope that I am able to take a photo before I have a heart attack and die.

@tanteva ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) hope you are feeling better today!

@scrap-genie I was telling Scott what you said about the birds migrating and he was saying the same, so many odd migrations here as well.
If Felis doesn't answer, I will- Yes, I think you should do a LO of the orchid too:)
Wow, it is crazy to think it was almost 2 full years ago when I did the relaxation/breathing posts when Covid first hit. Two years. SMH. I will do a spring countdown (apologies to anyone in the Southern Hemisphere!), it will be good for me and hopefully everyone.

@mom2triplets04 Sounds like this trainer is doing good with Myla!

There is @felis! Two votes for Jean to scrap the orchid. :)

Rhonda- I wish I could help with the pain in your leg, the weather has to make it so much worse.

Oh wow, I am soooo sorry to read how the situation is for you. I hope that you feel comfortable sharing with us. These women are my saviors. They have listened to me for years as I was so sick. I had/have Chronic Lyme Disease (in "remission"/symptom-free for 2 years) and I swear, if not for the support here, I would be in a much worse place. My DH is disabled from it and both kids were born with it and were very sick growing up. Lyme is one of those invisible illnesses and if I had a quarter every time someone said we don't look sick or just be more positive, I would have enough to pay my medical bills Bwuhahaha!! I promise you that I would never say that and that this group here wouldn't either. Please share as little or as much as you like and don't feel like you have to hide your bad days. Hugs!!

Morning, all. Woke up way too early (4:30AM)... but put the time to good use. I scrapped Vicki Robinson's Feb Challenge page with the prompt and got it uploaded to the galleries. :D

Yesterday was such a fun day with the Red Hat gals. We laughed and chatted for several hours!!! That was great for my spirits. Everyone loves the name badges I created. Each gal also took several of the books I was going to donate... so down 1 full bag of them. Less for me to worry about. Got the house put back to normal after they left - regular decorations back on the dining room table and dishes put in the dishwasher. Unfortunately, the back is definitely 'iffy' still. This maybe a PJ day as it needs another day of rest in the recliner. Time to pull out the Dr Scholl's massager unit and use the heat along with the massage a couple of times today. Hopefully that will ease the back. Oh... and yes, the pest control guy had come and gone well before the gals arrived.

@faerywings Sure hope the cleaning you are doing doesn't make your back worse! Really do like your Count Down to Spring... makes me feel like it will be here soon!

@LSlycord I also saw the photo of the dogs playing together on FB... glad they are getting along. Hope you get all the stuff done soon so your new job can start. Enjoy your lunch with your cousin.

@Cherylndesigns Glad you didn't hurt yourself as you were crawling around under the desk. Sure is pitiful when we get to the age where we have to be so careful doing things we used to do without a thought.

Rhonda, so sorry you have been living with pain for so long. We are here for you - so vent when you need to do so. Everyone here is so supportive.

@bcgal00 So happy that your house sold so quickly. Sending good thoughts that you find the new house quickly.

@tanteva oh, no... hope you get to feeling better quickly. <<< hugs >>>

Coffee cup is empty... so going to grab a refill and put the massager to use on the back. HAGD

Good Morning everyone! It is hike day today and so I will be quick being in here this morning. Looks like we could get some rain on and off but nothing major and it will be good to be back out with the hiking group! Yesterday did not turn out the way I had hoped and I only just got started on a page, so perhaps I will get that finished after my hike today. Heather had asked me to make up some stickers for her so I got those done and in the mail. They are for some candles that she is getting some for herself and some to take to her Brother's when they go on her Birthday. The stickers say..."Light Me... when the Dog Farts". LOL. She says that their puppy has the worst smelling Farts EVER!! She hopes her brother does not disown her after this visit ;).

@faerywings - So glad that your back is feeling much better today! Also glad that you finally heard from the Heating Assistance people, but oh my goodness what a rigamarole!! Hopefully you will hear from the Washing Machine people today! Don't throw your back out cleaning for your friend today please!!

@LSlycord - I think you must be excited to see your cousin!! You said it twice LOL. I am excited for you too!

@BrightEyes - So happy that your Red Hat gathering was so much fun! That is what I look forward to today also, laughing and catching up with the group! Please take care of your back and yes have a PJ day!!

@tanteva - I am sorry you are still not feeling so good! Sending you lots of healing thoughts and gentle hugs!

@Cherylndesigns - So good that you did not hurt yourself getting up off of the floor, but my goodness what were you doing down there in the first place LOL.

@RJMJ - Oh Rhonda that is awful that you have been in such pain and for so long! I hope that there is some relief for you soon! Yay that Ona was such a good help to you on your first challenge!! She is the best isn't she!!

@bcgal00 - Hooray on the house sale!! Hope your trip to Kamloops goes smoothly and you find the house of your dreams!!

Ok I am off to ready for the hike and have one more cup of coffee in the process. Have a great day everyone!

Unfortunately don't have much time today. Myla is at camp and I have to get our taxes ready to mail to our accountant which means lots of photo copying and trying to figure out if we got all our papers. I hate tax time. Not only do we have to do our personal taxes jointly but we now have 3 kids working so I have to get their stuff ready for the accountant as well.

Hello my lovelies,

Chris, @faerywings I KNOW you would keel over if you ever caught Braxton wearing that tutu. I can just picture it! NOT a good thing. LOL Hope your body feels better today and hope you get your electric bill/washing machine both worked out. It's bad to not have a washing machine. What did our parents ever do??? I can remember not having a dryer, though. Mom used to make us hang the wet clothes on the clothesline. LOL Mom had a wringer washer. Scary - that thing.

I'm a community college advocate, too. I attended a couple of them in Michigan, as an adult, but went to technical school before that.

Kay @BrightEyes I'm so happy that you had such a nice day with your Red Hat Ladies. I had to chuckle about my being down on the wooden floor. You know that's where I ended up the night I broke my collarbone. I love your comment about "our ages" BWAHAHA SO true!! My grandma used to say "We grow too soon old, but too late smart". I never understood what that meant when I was a kid. LOL

Trudy @taxed4ever I'm thinking of you today as you're hiking. I hope you have a wonderful day and can't wait to hear all about it. Yes, I was glad I didn't hurt myself too - I'm a little "dense" sometimes and do things w/o thinking. (Knock myself upside the head!) I didn't even THINK until I was down there.

Linda @LSlycord I remember what an ordeal it was to get dr appts scheduled. We belonged to a huge medical group and we always had so much trouble getting to the right person. My husband used to get so frustrated that he'd just drive over there - we only lived about 10 minutes from the main building. And Heaven forbid if they called YOU and you missed the call. It was like Fort Knox to return their call.

Have fun with your cousin. Living in FL is fun because it's a "destination" and we saw more people than we ever had when we lived there. We had people calling a lot and we'd at least meet for lunch. Nobody comes to OK. LOL

Oh, I'm not going to torture anybody with a screenshot today, but it's 64 right now. I guess it's going to be up around 70 in a couple of days.

Hugs to all.

I am so happy that spring is almost here! We are having some really unseasonably warm weather, so it feels like Spring - I even saw someone on a motorcycle today (unheard of in FEBRUARY in Canada!).

I got my gas and electric bill for the last month too today and WOWZERS ... guess we won't be eating anything fancy this month! Our typical bill is 250-275 in the winter and it was $549. For one month. What in the actual you-know-what. I've heard rumours that it's because of all the people that deferred their bills due to covid shutdowns and didn't pay, now their balances are being added to all the fees and such and making the bills astronomical. So they're making the consumers pay instead of the corporations that make millions of dollars a year. Makes sense. (argh).
