Hello and a happy Wednesday to you all!

I am in a funky mood. For no specific reason, just one of those days I guess. I have to remind myself that even though the weather isn't frigid, it is still February which is typically a cruddy month for me. And wow, it was strange to be outside with the dogs yesterday and then again this morning and not need to be all bundled up and miserable.

Eye Dr went well, I got the Rx and was able to order 6 months worth of lenses when I got home. I think I am ready for food shopping today even though I have very few dinner ideas.
The dinner I made last night wasn't all that good. It was Meh. Gary loved a recipe I used to make a long time ago- it was ham and red onion stuffed shells. He asked if I could make it without the ham which would have been strange IMHO- just red onion and ricotta? I found a recipe for caramelized onions and rosemary shells and I tried that and it was way too much work with no one really liking it. It made 2 trays of shells and we didn't even finish one. Looks like I am going to be eating them as leftovers for a long time.

Food shopping this morning and I think I will bake banana bread this afternoon.
 I am so sleepy.

Wishing everyone a very peaceful day

Felis- I often feel like I am typing the same thing day and day out too.
I looked at that Insta feed. He does amazing drawings and the comics are pretty thought-provoking too. I really enjoyed the ones of him with his child :)
It is disappointing that we are often judged by what we are wearing/driving/etc.
:pound: Your dad doesn't get it- the wake-up walk *is* the rough one!

Trudy- it seems so strange that you and Karen and Rae are getting so much snow and we are not, but I am not offering to trade ;)
Ugh, Men! Did you end up having to get your Gary? I hate when snow messes up all of your plans, esp since it sounds like you had a busy day. Be careful if you have to do a lot of shoveling.
I don't understand why more people aren't for some sort of universal coverage. For the most part, people are very happy with Medicare (ins. for Seniors/Disabled people). Gary has it and is mostly happy- there are still issues with some meds not being covered and insulin being ridiculously expensive. But he doesn't have to drive far to find a Dr that takes it.
That is too bad that the B&B plans might fall through. Your house is gorgeous and I know how much time and effort you put into the yard.

Rae- Gary had to do a few of those night installs and then be at work first thing when he was still working. They are rough!
I bet Taz was happy running around in the snow. That is scary about the coyotes, be careful with my little guy off-leash. (I know you always are!)
perfect advice to Felis! ITA :)

Nancy- oh my -- that would be bad if they flu gets passed around the NHL. I hope the game was good! Did you see my question about the train station?
Are you caught up on knitting the blocks? I haven't touched my crocheting in weeks.

Better go and get ready for ShopRite.
Jean- I hope you are well!

Hello lOvelies!
Today we wake up at white world :smow: yay!!!
So yes Trudy kept her promise and really send me some snow , thank you dear!We really needed it and I was so happy to see it!
It was one of these sparse mornings when you're more happy to wake up, than to stay asleep, because I love snow and because I had a nightmare with exlover. I know from my friends that in some cultures (french) they stay friends with their exes and even meet with them and their new lovers on coffee or bar. But here we prefer to bury the past and pretend it's never happened. So I definitely don't want him in my dreams!! It would have upset me a lot before, but fortunately recently I watched one of these scientist shows and there was explain how our brain isn't capable to create imaginary faces when we sleep. Everybody you see in your dreams is face you are already seen, if you not remember it it's someone that is impressed you at crowd at store or bus, but you definitely are saw this face before. Sometimes that are even celebrities from the TV. So usually your brain choose the most comfortable face for the scenery it's created, someone common and not necessary to be the face that have meaning for your feelings. But why my mind can't just give on these dreams face of some rockstar instead to gives me this bad taste with blast from the past?!

Chris, first I have to start with two old notes: the idea with using light to wake you up is very good, but it's just not work for me. As a child my sister couldn't fall asleep on dark, so I'm learned to sleep on tv, night lamp, lamp, daylight, everything. L O L, my question about how we would describe shapes was serious, I was wondering for that a lot, but my english friend explain me (actually it's a very obviously but wasn't come in my mind) that 'Г' shaped building is actualy 'L' shaped building. She also insist that 'П' shaped road is actually half rectangle but I have doubts about that. I'm happy that you liked the Insta comics!
So on today. About the diner, can you search for other recipes with this products and transformed the leftovers? As in pasta/linguine maybe?

Rae, oh yes you was mentioned that Noel is old, but who knows cats often surprised us. I also like the idea Jen to adopt kitten, as you are so caring family, you are perfect for some abandoned child! My Noel is black, and in some countries these cats have bad reputation and often left unwanted, I'm just saying, it's just one idea. Nancy will told you that black cats are the best cats, oh wait Chris also had one, and in england actually black cat brings luck. But whatever you choose will be good! In my opinion I prefer adult cat, because they aren't so energetic and house's destructive, but it's personal preference.
Oh, this about the coyotes is very scary! Hopes you to not meet them!

Trudy, ouch why Dr. appt? I'm missed this. Hope the snow isn't spoiled your plans!
Decision for the Air B&B shoud be comfortable for both of you, but you would be a hit, living in so beautiful area must have lots of guests. Also you'll be excellent host as you know so much about the both: hike in nature or galleries and art exhibitions, so can guide every taste!
I love your idea about the swap morning dog walks, but unfortunately everybody else is on work before noon  . I was offered them just to change this habit, but as my parents hopes soon to be retired they don't see sense, and convinced me to be patient for a while.

Nancy, L O L "same old but not really - the cat do something different" hahaha, who mine cat?! Not actually, especially when it's cold/hot. But thank you for the encouragement! You all are so kind! Hope the rain not spoiled your joy from the game, and also that you come back without this flu! I'm not hear about this series. This month is for Oscars nominated movies (which was finally voiced), so not time for series. But my sister likes a lot Cable girls, are you watched it?

Chris before I forget - yes I did see the question but keep forgetting to answer. There is an indoor covered walkway to get you to the Rock from the train station. You have to take an escalator to get to it. In the middle of the covered walkway is a set up steps but to get back down to street level there is an escalator. And then you still have to cross the street. Of course you can just walk outside. I would suggest you look at like google maps and see how many blocks there are and if your parents can walk that far. It can be a little confusing inside the train station (at least for me the first few times) because there are so many people who are always in a hurry to get some where. Hope this helps.

good day - well my Devils lost in a shoot out again! We took a 3-0 lead and then they scored 4 straight but with 19 secs left in the game my team scored to tie the game. It was fun and the rain stayed away walking in and walking back to car. Not much else going on.

Chris glad the eye visit was so good. Hope shopping goes well. Sometimes dinner is not perfect but sometime you just need to remind them that they could cook. I know your kids and Gary do cook at times. And yes the weather is crazy.

Trudy your Gary does this with his tires every year! Hope you did not get much snow!

Rae looking forward to photos of the snow with Taz and you backyard buddies.

Felis so glad you got your snow! Enjoy!

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone! Foggy and drizzle this morning, but we did get some snow overnight :mmph: The roads are clear though and so DH was able to take his truck to work. I got to sleep in until 7:30!! Yesterday's appt with the Dr. went very well, she is impressed that I have been Keto for almost 3 years and was telling me how some very good friends of hers are also Keto and very healthy and happy! She said I looked fit and healthy too. That made me feel good! Exam went smoothly, no lumps or bumps LOL. She said I was pretty easy with no prescription refills or meds to give out. I really like my Dr. she always asks about Heather and how she is doing, she was Heather's Dr. when we first moved back to the Island and she is amazed at how far she has come and genuinely happy to hear about her! So now I need to get my blood work done, it won't be today as I have already forgotten to not have coffee, so perhaps tomorrow morning LOL. At the pool yesterday I was chatting with an old friend who I grew up with in my old hometown, we went all through school together, we are getting together for lunch today with another friend that we chummed around with, so Gary laughed and said "Uh, oh the Youbou gals are together once again, watch out!!" It will be fun to catch up! Other than that I need to get a parcel out for Heather's birthday coming up on the 16th and I really need to finish a layout that I started for one of the challenges!

Chris - Glad that your Rx is right now and that you got your order in for your lenses! Yes February is supposed to be a short month, but it always seems to drag out, probably because we know that spring is just around the corner? No I did not have to go get my Gary after work, the temps warmed up and the roads were all clear before I left to go to the Dr. there was more snow as you went further up towards Maple Bay past our place, the cars were covered in snow, so we got lucky and did not have to deal with shovelling too much. Time will tell if DH will go for the Air B&B idea, he is always changing his mind, and they say women are bad for that?? LOL

Felis - You are so :welcome: for the snow that I sent to you LOL. Love the photo of outside your window and of Biggie the snowman!! Yes I think the B&B would be a great source of extra income for us, but like you say we both have to be comfortable with it! I think my Gary just does not want to have to spend the money on fixing up the suite downstairs, it needs better flooring, but other than that it just needs a fresh coat of paint in the bedroom.

Nancy - sorry your devils lost in the shoot out!! You know I hate those shoot outs!! There has to be a better way to settle the game! Our bruins had a good game, but DH thinks that they made a mistake with that first goal and it should have been off side. However he is thinking that perhaps they have changed the rules a bit?? Anyway I know the Canuck fans will be pissed about it for a long time LOL. Hope you have a nice day today, how is the knitting coming along?

Well I better get busy and get the morning chores done, no face time with Heather today, both boys are in school and she has day to herself to work on her course and get the house cleaned up. Then because of the rotating teachers strike, both boys are home tomorrow and so are Isaac and Sadie at home with their Dad, he is lucky that he can work from home and not have to find a sitter! Sure wish this would all get resolved soon! Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Today is a big day with registration opening for the week long genealogy classes I like to take in the summer. I haven't gone the last two years, but hope to get into one in July and get dorm space, either can be tricky to do. There are three different weeks with different opening times. Mine is almost three hours away, so wish me luck.

I've had a good week. Thursday at art class I finished off two pieces and got a good start on something new. I have pix ready to post to the blog, so need to do that. Friday afternoon DH and I went birding in the preserve where he used to do the bird surveys. I walked longer and farther than I would have imagined and it was all OK. I might have rested on one of the many benches, but it was too cold to sit. Saturday was genealogy meeting at the historical society, always good, saw a few birds driving home, then an immature Cooper's Hawk visited the backyard (I'll scrap a photo of it soon). In the evening I was startled to find the car covered in white, but more slush than snow. Sunday we cheered for Kansas City in the Super Bowl as everyone in our suburb wanted our hometown boy, Travis Kelce, to get a win (like his brother did with Philadelphia two years ago). DH did H&S Monday but I"m not sure what I did. Yesterday was board meeting of the computer gen. group, and here I am. Also I'm signed up for a two-day collage workshop in early March. I'm coming up on the one-year anniversary of landing in the hospital and I have to keep saying that in the end it was the best thing to happen to me given how things have gone since. Sorry to dump all this at once, but I get really un-chatty often. Somewhere in there we watched the movie Lady Bird which was nothing like my own teen years but still really a reminder of me and my mother then.

Chris, can you put a sauce on the shells to perk them up? It might work. Glad the lens order is in now. Isn't the weather crazy? I recently was thinking it felt like March but at the time it was still January. Meanwhile BiL in Tulsa may be getting snow today.

Felis, that snowy day and snowman Biggie look great, but I think I'd rather not have it here. Actually not sure about that. I know you don't want the wrong faces in your dreams, hope it stays away in the future. Doesn't sound like you get very far trying to convince your parents to change the ways of doing things. And the road shape, any chance in "English" it would be a U?

Nancy, sorry the Devils lost, especially in a SO. They are pretty unsatisfying. Are you getting near the end of the knitted squares. We're all looking forward to seeing them. BTW, my first rite of spring happened last Thursday when the Indians' equipment trucks left for Arizona and spring training. Pitchers and catchers don't report until Feb. 11, but this is my start of spring.

Trudy, it must be a challenge to try to plan for retirement time without coming to any decisions yet. Nice you didn't have the snow interfere with your doctor's appointment. She sure sounds good. Also nice to have had one person so long.

Kay, Rae, Karen and all, hope it's a good day.
