Happy Wednesday that feels like a Thursday to me. I have no clue *why* it feels like a Thursday but I have to keep reminding myself that it isn't.

I think that I am running late, I have to clean this morning. I want to get out a few minutes early if I can. We are getting hit with another storm mid-day- more snow and ice. The ice is killing me! The kids' college is closing at 12.30 and the school district here has an early dismissal so I am not sure if she is going to be babysitting or not. Cait's car is in the shop on top of all of this. She needed to get brakes done but she also has a leak in the radiator or something. The shop is going to need to work on that too so we are sharing my car for now.

Didn't I come home just a couple of days ago feeling relaxed? hahahahaha!!!!

Yesterday was quiet, not much of anything happened. Groceries, cleaning a bit here, worked on a puzzle with Gary and Caitlyn. Boring.
Today- Cleaning. Shoveling. Boring.

Wishing a happy day to all of you!

Kay- I am hoping that the snow and cold weather don't get into the way of your plans this week. Personally, I like it better when it is lighter later in the day, makes it easier for driving. I dislike the changing of the clocks too but not as much as I did when my kids were babies. Neither of mine was good sleepers because of health issues and any disruption of their routines would start the screaming cycles again. Hope that your state gets that straightened out soon.

Trudy- Sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well, you would think that you would sleep like a rock after being busy with painting. Take your time both of you on that last banister section. I guess it is out of the question that your Gary would hire someone to do it for you?
How awesome that you have to keep making more paintings for your kids! That must make you so happy that they love your art.

Rae- how is your back today? I have a knot in my shoulder that gets aggravated when I shovel and it has been so tight the last few weeks. But at least I am not having spasms- that is the worst. Is the stretching and heat pack helping enough?
Does Taz eat the snow and ice? W is *obsessed* with ice cubes and half the time she whines to go outside, it's to only grab chunks of ice from the yard to eat.
heh-- that was the only reason that we set Whiskey Cavelier to record-- we like the two actors!

Jean- hope that your Dr appt went well. Tell DH that we are proud of him caring for you (and that he better keep it up! LOL)

Kay- you are so crazy-talented!!! I can't draw a stick figure to save my life. They must look even better in real life and they look totally amazing on my screen. Wow!!

Karen- Yuck about the snow. I feel your pain. Your days sound like mine- aside from having to do a landscape report. Although, Scott and I discussed how to do some landscaping at my parents' house using native-to-the-area-only plants. Does that count? ::razz:
I also feel your pain with your hands. I am only 50 and my knuckles are getting bigger and misshapen. Osteoarthritis and osteoporosis are strong in my family so I am not sure that my hands stand a chance.

Stacey- yup- same as you, arthrisis and painful joints are big issues.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got to the part where you adopted a dog!!!! (can you tell? haha!!) Congrats if you decide to keep her!

She might need a bit of time to warm up especially if she was dumped at her age (grrrr why do people do that??).
Our oldest pup (13) is a lab and is so mellow esp when compared to the other two. W is the crazy cuddler. But Ray is willing to lay down next to me and let me snuggle on her. She also loves belly rubs ;)

Felis- I hope that by the time you read this you are feeling all better.

xoxo

Our snow melted away by noon yesterday so I was able to get to the library, post office and senior citizen center library. But the wind was like ice so wasn't pleasant to be outside. Cold temps but have a break between storms... snow is expected again sometime on Friday/Saturday.

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my artwork. Chris, my art teacher in 5th grade told me I "couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler"! ! ! So I quit trying. When DD#2 was in high school, she took a drawing class and challenged me to try it with her. Well... turns out that I can draw, paint, sketch, etc!!! A few years later, I took art courses in college from drawing to sketching, to acrylics, oils, and pastels. [I attended college at the same time as my kids.] Also did a couple of classes using colored pencils. Then took some classes in Cairo with a famous artist who lived there. He taught a class on watercolor. I think that is the most challenging medium to work with. Also did some silk fabric painting.

Karen, I am so sorry that your hands are not allowing you to do any more things that need fine motor control. Haven't tried doing any embroidery lately but am still able to do my beading. Although I noticed my handwriting isn't as smooth as it once was. << sigh >>

Stacey, the new dog reminds me of Cooper. Hope she works out for you. It is good that the shelter allows you time to make sure it is good fit for you and the dog.

Trudy, there is no way you would get me up on a tall ladder... and yours sounds really tall! Good luck on getting the rest of the spindles stained and painted. What a huge job that has been.

Rae, you had me LOL over Taz and his snow antics! Hope your back is doing better now.

Felis, so sorry to hear you were feeling so bad! Hope it is better today.

I need to get my shower early today. Not sure when DD#3 and her friend will be here. Think it will be later this afternoon - right before we go out to for dinner - but they may pop in before then so we can have some 'girl talk' before the guys show up. CYL

Hello girls!
I feels much better today. And also have a wonderful news, my mom was on a third interview and now they will test her to get a job as sanitarian in a children day care. It's not the place where she wanted to go most, but it is in the town, so she will can walk to there and actual she is satisfied. So we hope that they will offer her to stay! :thumb:

Chris, how annoying to have to deal with car issues in such a nasty weather. Don't you use Car Snow Chains against the sliping? Especially sorry to hear the prognosis for your ankle! Looks like you'll have fast to delegate the carpets and some other howse task to your family, so to be prepared during your recovery process.

Kay, I also hate the wind, the disadvantage of the winter is that we can't walk around free. Oh, it's wonderful how you are use your talent! Henri Rousseau also find his talent late, but this is only circumstance. I'm a big art lover but no talent at all. If you are interested from the painters I strongly recommend you to read "Depths of Glory" by Irving Stone, it's a biographical novel based on the life of the impressionists. It's one of mine favorite books for all the times.

Rae, sorry to hear about your back spasming! Are you sure that your mattress is nice for you, it makes stupid but actually make difference. And the cold makes everything worse. Sorry that you feels blue. Maybe is the spring fatigue?! Hope that musik, scrap, reading or other favorite hobby to lift your spirit.

Trudy, Congrats for the section! I completely understand your wish to be more stronger. At past we was living in home on the second floor and dad has to ask our neighbour to help when lift something.

Jean  .

Where is Nancy?!

Morning everyone.... Well this is my second attempt at posting here today! Heather facetimed with me and I closed my browser!! :gaah: I hate when I do mindless things!! I had a long post all ready to go and poof I hit the close browser button. Oh well I am not in the mood to re-post everything so here is the short version. Not hiking today too slippery. Will try to do a second coat of stain on the top bannister. Hope to paint! Also hope to scrap!

Chris - It is horrible that you are still getting such crappy weather and having do deal with the icy roads. Had to laugh at your comment about hiring someone to finish off the bannister :pound: like that would ever happen!! :becky:

Kay - Your artwork is stunning!! I love, love the little cowboy one! How great that you went to college with your kids! I never had any formal training for art, wish I did but I think that ship has sailed LOL. I will just enjoy experimenting on my own. Have a great visit with your daughter and her friend and enjoy your supper out tonight!

Felis - Glad to hear that you are feeling so much better! Ugh on the stomach issue you had yesterday, maybe something that you ate?? Hooray for your Mom's job offer!!! She must be very happy that it is so close by! I hope your evening is a good one!

Rae - I bet you are busy working away at your desk! Hope you and Taz can get out in the sunshine later on! Starting to get windy here, wonder what that will bring us in the way of weather?

Karen - Sorry you are having pain with your joints! Nice that you can still type and scrap though. Hope you can get out soon and get over the cabin fever!!

Stacey - How wonderful that you have found a lovely fur baby to adopt! I hope you will soon decide if you will keep her or not. Perhaps she will turn into a cuddler for you.

Ok back to getting some house work done and then I hope to hit my craft room for a bit. I will be back here later to hopefully get a page done for one of the challenges. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies...got Taz off to daycare, took out the garbage, grabbed another coffee and got to work on a few urgent reports. Jen came for a visit last night and told us all about her snowshoeing. She loved it and said the hike up Mount Seymour was beautiful. Her friend has been doing it for years and now maybe Jen will go along with her sometimes. It's good for her to get out with friends, she doesn't do that often enough IMO.

I've been scrapping a bit more this past week and am enjoying it. I have been in such a weird mood lately. I find that I need to slow things down, am getting really forgetful (even more than my usual) and I think that stress is making my memory worse. I find that I have lots of moments when I just space out and can't remember things that I should. I know stress can do that. So I am really evaluating my schedule, habits, duties, etc and thinking about how to help myself. This situation with B is going to be ongoing so I need to figure out how to deal with this b/c I am getting burned out, not surprising of course.

Chris - be careful if you go out shoveling. I'm sick of the ice/snow now too. I just want it to warm up a bit and not be icy so I can get out jogging again.

Trudy - not surprised you're not hiking today. It's sunny out but cold and icy here so I assume it is there too. Have fun scrapping later.

Stacey - you got another dog???? Hope this works out. Are there any pics?

Felis - hope the new job works out for your mom. Fingers crossed and good thoughts sent her way.

Kay - I've said it before and I'll say it again....you are talented at everything, aren't you :)

I'm grabbing another coffee and getting back to work. I think today will be soup for dinner (and grilled cheese for D). I'm going to put meatballs in my tomato soup...yum.

Have a great day, everyone.
