Does anyone want a slip and slide for a front lawn? I have one if you do. I had to take the dogs outside a little while ago, and the poor things cannot even walk on the lawn. I had to stomp through the snow and ice so they could pee without sliding away. It is going to be insane out there, Ray and her unsteady-ish legs, J and my worries over her knees, and me-- attached the other end of W's leash. God help me if she decides to take off after something. :dogwalk:

The snow wasn't really snow. It was like shoveling sugar. Someone took bags and bags of white sugar and dumped it all over. Then it turned to sleet overnight so we have a lovely layer of ice, strong enough that a 66 lb dog can't break through it, over it all. I cannot *wait* to shovel us out this morning. Scott needs to leave at 9.30 and I have to leave at 10.

Other than dealing with the snow, I kind of puttered a bit. Caitlyn and I finished the latest puzzle. I read and finished a few more rows on the hat I am crocheting. Gary made penne and his homemade vodka sauce for dinner which is to die for. All in all, a good day. :)

Today is the MRI and hopefully, the roads out of town will be cleared.
Aside from that, I have nothing planned.

Who has fun plans for the day?
Make it a great one!

If FB is telling the truth, it is Nancy's birthday today!

:HapBirth:

Trudy- 2 feet of snow????? That is pretty much unheard of by you, right? That is so messed up! I am glad that your Gary made it to work ok- but no plows? Yikes. Since you are on a hill, will the snow melt run past your house? I hope that you don't flood at all but it sounds like it is going to be very messy for a long time.
You are pushing yourself to get that staining and painting done-- your shoulder is telling you to take a break and I hope that you listened. ;)
The schools here tend to cancel the night before a storm if the consensus is that the roads will get bad. There have been occasions when the schools opened but then the buses couldn't get the kids home. If they wait too long, parents get mad that they have to find child care at the last minute. But if they call early and it doesn't snow when the buses should be running they get yelled at for that too. SMH

Felis- oooh, that is not a good feeling to have it cold in your bones. The weather patterns are so unstable yet the US is still sticking its head in the sand saying that it is all a hoax.
Hope that your plants are ok and that is really sweet of you to try to feed some of the street dogs and cats. You are such a caring person.

Rae- Oh my GOODNESS!! What a great shot of Bruin. You are such a talented photographer- I wish I had your skill and eye. He is a beauty of a pup and it must be so sweet seeing him and Taz together.
That is really neat to see the film crew. We watch Magicians-- if you ever see your bridge in that you will have to let me know :)

Better get going, I am going to need to shovel and scrape a bit before I get in the shower.

xoxo!!!!

I don't have much plans for today. I had a friend over this morning, which was nice, I did some shopping afterwards. I don't feel like doing house stuff today, although I will have to put the towels in the dryer. Otherwise I will have some wet screaming kids tonight yelling: Moooooom, where are the towels????? This can be rather fun tho, when I refuse to answer, or only say they have to check the towels before they get wet

I think I will do some scrapping, or some reading this afternoon.

Nancy - I wish you a :bday

Chris - I hate it when it is slippery and I have to walk the dog. I do have those things with nails I can put under my shoes. Our dog isn't bothered so much and doesn't slide away so easily. I do, especially when the dog sees a cat or other dog :yell:

I hope everyone will have a wonderful day!!

Morning, gals. Sorry I didn't make it in here yesterday... Had a wonderful luncheon with my Red Hatters. It didn't wrap up until after 3 PM... as it is the first time that everyone was here. We had a lot of visiting and catching up with how everyone was doing. Had lots of wonderful food [it was a potluck]. Ended up with some left-overs so have a couple of meals that I don't have to cook! LOL

Happy Birthday, Nancy!!! :HapBirth: Hope you have a wonderful day!

Chris, hope you and your DH managed to get enough snow shoveled so you could make it to your appts.

Oh, Jeanette... you have me  over thinking about not reminding the kids to check on towels before getting wet! ! ! You are a good mom and got the towels into the dryer instead.

:blast: Nancy!!!

Good Morning ladies... finally the snow has stopped and yesterday the temps warmed up a bit in the afternoon, so the second shoveling of the driveway was easier and stayed clear. We did not see the snow plow on our hill until just after DH arrived home from work. :mmph: Oh well I am sure they are overwhelmed with the amount of snow removal they are having to do! We are grateful that they finally did make it, so now it will be easier for DH to get out of our neighbourhood. So I will be housebound again today and starting to go stir crazy not being able to get out except to shovel the driveway :gaah: Enough with the snow already I want it all gone!! I did get started on a scrap page yesterday and I hope to finish it up this morning. I will get back to painting the spindles today, but need to get a bit more stain for one more banister, so hopefully I will be able to get that tomorrow!

Chris - Ugh I feel bad complaining about our snow when you are having to deal with icy conditions!! That is the worst!! Well when all this snow melts, it will run down the hill, but because we basically live on a rock we won't have to worry about flooding LOL. But you never know with so much snow the ground might not be able to handle all that moisture if it melts very fast. We will have to make sure we watch closely! I would be more worried if I lived at the bottom of our hill! The lake will certainly rise a bit LOL. Wow you and Cait finished the latest puzzle quickly! I guess there is no way to keep everyone happy with the school closures, it will be another snow day for the kids here too. I feel sorry for the families that have to try to arrange childcare or will lose another day of pay. But hey what can you do, Mother Nature is very much in charge!! I hope that you have a nice day without slipping and sliding everywhere!! How nice to have your Gary make that yummy supper!! :hungry: Good luck with your MRI today! I will be thinking of you today!

Jeannette - Sounds like you will have a nice day of doing what you like! Too funny about the kids all looking for dry towels! One day they will check to see if there are any before they hop in the shower LOL.

Felis - Sorry that you are having freezing temps again! If I could send all this snow to you I sure would!! I have had enough with the shoveling!! We are scheduled to have garbage pick up today, but not sure how the garbage trucks are going to turn around at the top of our hill :noidea: How fun that you might be able to Chevy Stevens novels in your language! You will have to let me know which one you get if you do manage to get one.

Rae - Wow another amazing photo! How fun that Taz has a bestie that lives across the street!! What a gorgeous colour he is!! Yes we got a lot more snow than the mainland, but where SIL Linda lives in Ladysmith got even more than we did. Crazy!! Hopefully this snow will be gone. But dang it's snowing here AGAIN!! Hope that you don't have a terrible amount of work today!

:hello: to Nancy, Kay and Jean! I hope you are all well and keeping warm and cozy!

Off to get another coffee and then I will get my page finished and posted! Have an awesome day everyone!

good morning - yes it is my birthday. My family has all wished me a happy birthday so that makes me very happy. No plans for celebrating today, it will be postponed until I can get out. Talked to my co-Alaska trip friend and now I am starting to look at plane reservations. What a pain as there are no direct flights to Fairbanks, Alaska nor direct flights home from Anchorage. What a chore. Especially the prices LOL. Had my evaluation for my new PT. I will be going 3 days a week, early in the am. I think I will be glad that it will be over with early. My first day is tomorrow and the pt said she wants to see my knee gain a 5% increase in bending each week. Sounds good unless she makes me cry. She suggests taking my drugs before hand so I can work harder. That seems fine for the beginning but at soon that will not work. My poor Devils cant win for losing and they lost big to the St. Louis Blues 8-3. Even the coach could not explain but having our best player injured, serval of our other players injured and a lot of the new player just have not had the time to get in sync with the rest of the players. And most importantly our goalies needs to be lots better. Well the Devils are off today and then tomorrow they play the Blackhawks. I can only hope the practice will help. I have been doing some scrapping and the pages need to be uploaded. Other than that not much going on.

Chris, Kay, Jeannette, Trudy thanks so much for the birthday wishes.

Chris will be thinking about you and good luck with the MRI. The is my SIL's story and it is so strange. She went in for a MRI for her knee replacement and they did a full body scan. The found she had cancer in her spleen. The second time the she was scheduled to have an MRI for her knee replacement the technician only did it on the knee and so my SIL asked why they did the full body the last time. The technician said it was a mistake the first time but obviously it saved her life. So strange but so happy it turned out so well.

Jeannette that is so like kids to always need what they should have had to begin with. Having a dry towel seems so intuitive but kids just need their moms.

Kay that must have been so much fun with all those Red Hats at lunch. Glad that you have enough left overs for two meals.

Trudy wow that is a lot of snow. I have seen the photos from Seattle. It is so strange to see snow there. Even stranger though was to see all the snow in Maui. Hope you do not have more snow. Good for you for shoveling. Glad the plows came through.

Felis so so sorry it is so cold. Would send snow but ours turned to rain.

Rae OMgosh those photos of Taz are so cute. He really does love the snow. And your area by the stream was gorgeous!

Have a great day all!

Happy birthday, Nancy!!!!!

I was out close to two hours with Taz, walking along both sides of the river, he played with other dogs and leaped in and out of the water (yes, he is crazy lol). Then he would freeze up with snow balls clinging to his feet so he would have to lay down in the snow and try to bite them off. I got a few pics of him trying to do his grooming in the snow LOL. The snow has stopped and we get a reprieve today before the next storm hits us tomorrow. Then that will pretty much be the end of snowmaggedon here. I got some great snow pics which is always a treat b/c we usually get so little of it and it's been an absolute joy to watch Taz play in the snow. I'll come back later, I'm getting a late on my work this morning so I'd better get at it.

Here's a happy Taz pic from this morning. He's sound asleep now, he exhausted himself LOL.
