hellloO my sweet O-Fam!
How is everyone today? I am happy it is Wed but if feels like Thursday. Oh well, what can you do? I am working at my MIL's today so at l;east the day will go pretty quickly.

Tomorrow is the big "V-Day." Who is gearing up for that? Not me. I tend to dislike all Hallmark Holidays and that one is up there at the top of my list. When my kids were little, I would make something special for dinner for them, but now I don't even think I do that. I did get pizza dough at the store yesterday, maybe I'll do heart shaped pizzas for dinner. I was talking to Scott about his plans with Leah (his GF) and warned him to not use me as an example of how to treat a GF on V-Day. Leah apparently told him that she didn't want anything, so he wasn't going to get her anything.
No no no!!!! Bad move dude! Even if she means it, a gift is always better than no gift. Am I right? LOL

I am still running on my light-sleep cycle and I am tired. You know that feeling when you think you are awake and you are really just lightly asleep? And then you keep waking up every half hour anyway? Yeah, me too-- that's been me for the last week or so. Its really getting annoying.

The good news for my area of the day is that it looks like the snowstorm is going to stay south of us-- so instead of 3-6" we might get 1-3" snow/rain mix. Messy but not as as as snow. next storm up- maybe this weekend!
:fish:

I wish that when I paid my bills today (Social Security Day!! whoooohooo!) I have money left over.
I wish there was a way to come and visit tall of you!
I want to get a good night's sleep tonight!

Hi Laurie! OMG! That story about your DH is hysterical! I cannot imagine what he thought! LOL I think Phyllis has it down pat!!!
Your Silhouette is getting good use at least!

Phyllis- do you think it is more of a generational thing, that part of grief that feels like you can't go on w/o the partner? Not that there is not true grief, but I know a few people who have lost spouses from my generation and while they grieve deeply, there is not that same sense of "I cannot go on without him/her." Or maybe it is that they still have so much life left to live?
Hmm, philosophical ponderings at 6 am. :noidea:
So happy that you had a nice birthday and very swet that DD sent flowers. :)

Nana- every 4 months? ye gads.... what a PITA. Any update on Traci and how she is doing, or same old, same old? You, me friend and Nana, are a rock star.

Clara!! Love seeing you in here!! Have a wonderful and fun and not too whirlwind-y trip. I am so happy that you get to see you fam and your niece!! How in the world do you plan wedding moments??
Oh no, you are goign to scare everyone away with stories of my terrorist hat! I have actually been wearing my anti-terrorist hat more often this year!!

Trudy- how sweet that you and YMG spent time talking and walking together. I bet it helped clear the head very well. And rant away any time you need- that is what we are here for.

Nancy- I'll put all of the snow in a dump truck and send it on down :D Did you have fun at the hockey game last night? Stupid question, of course you did!!! Live hockey is a blast!

Terry- hope that the ins stuff is moving along forward. Good idea to get the baselines for the heart and I hope that everything comes back perfect.

Nope, no pancakes or church for me. And I have been dying to ask my dad (strict Catholic) what is thoughts are on the Pope resigning. That shocked me, so I cannot imagine the impact on someone who in involved in the church like he is.

Gotta fly! Hope you all are having a wonderful day!
Does anyone know what Linda S is coming back home? Hope that she still has lots more time in Maui!

Morning O fam- I have not worked out- will do so later. I worked late last night because I am off until Monday- today- I just got up, because I am getting fasting blood work done and I need my coffee with creamer! Then I am off to church for Ash Wednesday services, then grocery store, then home and then exercise and time to finally scrap- all the gorgeousness that the designers have been sharing- yikes! Chris - for V day we are going out to dinner and dancing to a live orchestra- should be fun.

Laurie!! STOP!! NO COFFEE, NO CREAMER!! or your bloodwork will be invalid. fasting means nothing but water! hope you didn't have the coffee or you're going to have to fast again. (says The Bloodwork Queen :becky:)

Chris, dunno about the grieving thing. maybe some older people grieve so hard because they've been WITH that person for so long. Hubby reminded me the other day that we've been married almost 10 years longer than we were ever alive and single! i guess you hever know how it's gonna hit you. my hope, though, is that i never do anything like that Dinner Party Scene that Trudy had to sit through.

i have to stay home today, because i got notices from both UPS and FedEx that there are packages i MUST sign for. so, there goes my day. looking forward to a short trip to visit the Grandmen this weekend. hopefully the snow will stay away. i have to travel over the PA "mountains", which is never fun in a blizzard....

Merry Wednesday! may you not get snowed on today. except you, Terry!! :becky:

Morning ladies... Off to work for a short couple of hrs, just to do the cash balancing and then to learn how to order for the home decor part of the store. For some strange reason they seem to want me to be in charge of the home decor?? I love that they value my taste in home decorating, but am I up for the challenge?? We will see I guess. If it goes ahead it sounds like I will be able to work my own hrs, so that would be a real bonus!! But I am not getting too excited about it yet, I will believe it when it happens!!

Chris - Say hi to your MIL! I know that you two have a special bond, that is so nice!! I love my MIL too, sometimes she is a bit weird, but I love her!! She called last night to see how our visit with SIL went, she knew that it would be stressful, her and SIL have never gotten along very well and there are some very hurt feelings on both sides, so sad!!
Enjoy your day and hope your Heart shaped pizza turns out good! :hungry:

Laurie - Hope you didn't have to wait to long to get your bloodwork done! It always seems that you need that coffee more than ever when you know you can't have it!! LOL Sounds like your day is going to be full of lovely things to do today, Enjoy!!

Phylis - Hopefully you won't have to wait all day long for your deliveries to show up! We got a phone call one Sunday saying that Canada Post was going to be dropping a parcel for us (it was Christmas and they were delivering on a Sunday) We waited all day for it, even saw the delivery truck drop off parcels at some of the neighbours, but they never showed up to our house?? WTH?? Got a notice in the mailbox the next day to pick it up at the store :noidea: Hopefully you can find something fun and creative to do today while you wait!! :becky:

Well better get moving and get this short shift done so I can come home and play here for a bit today!

Good morning evryone! Yay! It is Wednesday. One day closer to the weekend. Craig and I are heading out of town this weekend---eneed to drop our motorhome off for service so we are going to make a weekend of it.

Had a good check up with the cardiologist. He is actually the husband of one of the doctors I work with--so we are friends. He said "what are you doing here?" Told him to call me paranoid but I just want to get checked out and have baseline studies. Good news--nothing wrong with the ticker. Told me to exercise! Imagine that! Laurie--I need you to pass that workout mojo this direction please.

It's chilly here today--only high 60's! :)

My son was on cloud nine last night---he got his unit (police car). Cleaned that baby up spic and span clean. I still think it is weird to see him all decked out in full gear.

Went to the Fat Tuesday pancake dinner. My surprise--at the end of the food line there were all these toppings---sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts, different sauces, etc. I thought there was ice cream for dessert! No--they were for the pancakes. Never heard of topping pancakes with anything but syrup or jelly. The kids had a blast--got all sugared up!

Well--need to get to work today. My assistant is off today so I think I am going to take it easy. I'm going to finally clean out my closet. Work maybe a half a day. Scrap the other half. Church tonight for Ash Wednesday.

Here's to a great day for all of you!

Okay ladies.......close your ears...again......TWO HOUR EARLY DISMISSAL TODAY!!

I have no idea WHY either...it's scheduled. But.................the next two days they have scheduled OUT of school (in March) they are going for make up days.

They voted at the school board last night....the kids will still be starting BEFORE labor day....I have no idea what that calculation to decide is...or why....makes no sense to me....no matter when they start, they still go the same amount of days..... I THINK ~scratches head~

No snow here...just a little rain...just enough so the kids can't go out and play when they get home EARLY (grrrrrrrrr) from school.

Social Services meeting done....she was nice enough to notice that the kids Medicaid yearly review was due in April...she just did it yesterday...YAY!!!

Nothing on the agenda for today.....just do a little laundry.....maybe some cooking some meals ahead.....makes life easier.

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!

Laurie, WHEW i figured you knew, of course, but just in case. i once was waiting for a fasting bloodwork test, talking to a lady who said she was back because she ate something before her fasting tests last time. as she was telling me this while we waited for our turn, she was getting ready to put a mint in her mouth. so i yelled STOP!

Nana, don't you wish things would just be PREDICTABLE with schools?? when i was little, we ALWAYS started school the day after labor Day. Always. and we ALWAYS got out the first week of June. it certainly made life more predictable. i think all the chaos is coming from unclear signals about "year 'round school." that was such a hot idea for a while, and some school districts were moving toward no long summer va-ca's and shorter ones throughout the entire year, paired with year 'round classes. as usual, with education, it was chaos all across the country, so now there's no clear idea where this is heading.

Terry, i can't imagine what it would be like to see one of my kids in a police uniform. impressive!!

Trudy, soon you'll have your own show on HDTV!! it'll be interesting to see how this works out. just make sure they're not sucking you into working even MORE hours!

wanna have some fun? check this out. these guys are from Croatia, cute as can be and ROCKIN'!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4mCW2Dk11A

Good morning! Well even though my team Devils lost last night had a great time because my DH came, and both my sons were there. I love family time while screaming for my Devils. Was a deja vu game. While on the power play my team scored but the refs did not see it so the game continued for 4 more mins. After a stoppage they reviewed the tape and it was a goal so they have to play those 4 min all over again. LOL. Got to be outside for a walk with my girlfriend. So fun to be outside!

Nana Linda wow your school system does not make it easy for the kids or any working parent.

Chris enjoy the time with your MIL

Terry congrats on your son and his job!

Trudy it sounds wonderful that your job may be changing.

So I am home- having a cup of my own coffee- subway's did the caffine hit, but not the same as home- besides- my house thought I should be at work and it is only 63 in here so I need to heat up while the furnace does it's work!! I won't find out results unless they are terrible, until my dr appt in March. I am hoping all my exercise has helped my cholesterol move in more positive directions and that my thyroids are normal- I think- they were borderline last time and if they are up more- that may be why I am not losing weight very easily- it can't be because I am old can it?????

Good morning ladies. Sounds like life is moving along for everyone. I, on the other hand, feel as if I am in a time warp. Every day is the same...beautiful! We have 4 more days...we leave at 10:30 Sat night and get home at about 1 in the afternoon on Sunday. If I win the Powerball (and I am going to start playing), I am coming back here to live. It is glorious. I wish that I could invite all of you to have Kona coffee with me on the lanai this morning. Our view is the Maui mountains. Last year it was the ocean...but I have no complaints about the extra bedroom and the mountains.

We haven't done nearly as much this year as last. Much more relaxing. I have read 5 books since vacation started. Going to do some scrapping this morning. Talk to you later.

Oh Linda sounds wonderful- I love vacations like that- I love going to the same place because the urge to go go go is not there- just to enjoy the peaceful feelings and the beautiful surroundings! So just finished my workout, now to decide how to spend the rest of my day!
