I am going to try *really* hard not to grumble too much. The weather-- not the temps but the lack of sunshine- is making me cranky and tired.
it could be snow, it could be snow... I am grateful... Rain is better than snow...
I am already looking forward to coming home and putting on pajamas. And guess what? I am not even out of my pajamas from last night :pound:
But it is all good. Right?? Right.
Yesterday was a good day. I had a nice time with my mom. The seminar was IMHO - fascinating. I loved learning how the pacemakers/defibs work. My mom, well she wasn't as fascinated as I was but she stuck it out. She didn't want to ask any questions so afterward, I asked one for her and she eventually came up to chat with the speaker. There are so many safeguards and diagnostics that run on the computer that I think some of her fears were addressed. She still doesn't like the idea of having anything implanted and I can totally understand that. I might not be as freaked out about it, but I can understand why it is affecting her.

My car came back in one piece. I am incredibly relieved that my dad took it in for me. Something-something is leaking and it is still under the warranty. Good thing because it would have cost $1000 to fix. He is going to bring it back in the next time I am down for the podiatrist in a couple of weeks.

Today is gonna be *fun*! :whoo: I am off to the supermarket this morning and then PT in the afternoon. In 10 hours I will be back in my pjs.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Kay- I am sad to hear that the lunch was canceled but I glad that you are safe and cozy at home. I hope that the snow didn't make too much a mess for you.
Sending some pain-free vibes to your foot. I hope you don't mind I am holding back for my own.

Trudy- that is nice of Heather to watch one of Mason's friends during the strike. Hope you got in lots of laps yesterday!

Nancy- Did the Devils continue the winning streak? What did you cook, anything that might inspire me? I made dinner last night that was super quick and easy and the fam loved it. It was frozen ravioli with browned butter and spinach with some shallots and walnuts. They told me to keep it in the rotation and I will def. do that since it was so quick to cook- less than 30 minutes.

Rae- not to freak you out but 2 years will go fast. I hope that you and Dh are able to do exactly what you want when you retire, you both deserve it. Hehe, same here, the icing makes me so cold and triggers the Raynaud's symptoms, esp when I have to ice my feet. Give me a heat pack any day! ;)
My mom was so grateful that I went with her. I am happy that I was able to go too.

Sending big hugs to everyone!

Morning ladies... it is a blah day! Very cloudy and grey and I am still on the fence about going for my hike today. I really should get outside and get some exercise, but the hike is a long drive and I am not in the mood at the moment. I still have a couple of hours before I have to decide so we will see. Yesterday I did not make it back here to catch up with you all :sorry: I ended up going to Walmart and the Dollar Store for a few things and then when I got home I got a phone call from MIL to help her out with the ancestry. OMG they have no clue what they are doing  They had no idea how to search for the people that they are looking for and really I am no expert at it either, but sheesh!!! Everything is right there in front of you on the screen. So anyway I found one of the relatives she was looking for from way back in 1600's. So she was happy, but FIL has the whole tree all screwed up, so I think that SIL Linda and I need to go in and do some re-arranging LOL. We sure opened up a can of worms with this!! Jean I sure wish you were here to help me!! I got my laps in and the pool was quiet, I am sure enjoying having the music to listen to! Oh and I already sold two sets of my coasters and matching trivets!! Hooray!!

Chris - Yes rain is much better than snow!! You don't have to shovel the rain. However I understand that the grey makes all of us a bit cranky and we it would be great to see the sunshine again! Yesterday was pretty nice here with the sun out for a bit here and there. I will take it! Oh I got my test results from the lab and everything is good! I thought for sure that I would be lacking in vitamin B12 but nope. My cholesterol levels have not changed much at all since 2015 and my good Cholesterol levels are higher so that is a good thing!! Hooray! However my white blood cell levels are getting low, so I might have to go see the Dr. to discuss that. I am not too worried though if it was a concern, she would have called me into the office again! I hope that the sun comes out for you soon! Glad that you had such a good day with your Mother! I can totally understand her concern of having a foreign object implanted in her body!! It would freak me out too! Hooray for your car being under warranty, what a relief!!

Ok I am not hiking, I have way too much to do today and will get a page done hopefully today to post here and get caught up with my commenting etc. Perhaps a nice walk this afternoon, so I can get some fresh air. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Started sunny here, is gray now, but by this afternoon we have a winter weather advisory for snow and/or icy rain into tomorrow. Yuck! We'll see how it goes.

Chris, I never understood why it freaked out my MiL to get an artificial joint in her thumb (from RA) so it seems strange to hear of your mom feeling like that these days when it is so common for stuff to go in our bodies. Bet it would be a little different if it were me instead though. Good luck with the shopping.

Trudy, sent you a PM about the Ancestry issue. Probably a good call on not hiking when you really didn't want to do this one. Congrats on the sale. Love the new one I saw on Insta.

Have the senior center genealogy group shortly, so gotta go.

Good morning.

Yesterday was the big day. I had the nuclear testing done for my heart concerns. They took 5 hours to complete. I was up at 5:30 to get to the appointment on time. Now I just wait for the results.

Something to think about:

I read a fantastic article about feeding your brain junk. Unfortunately I don't have the link but it was from a health organization. The gist of the article was to start the day with one of these things if not all. exercise, meditation, reading a book, creativity, journal writing. There were 8 in all but I can not remember them.

Never start the day with what is considered junk for the brain like internet browsing, games, and time wasters like FB, twitter, etc.

Apparently, one becomes much more productive and can accomplish much deeper work if a healthy start to the day becomes your habit.

Interesting huh. Later on in the day those other things can be done within limited amounts.

Hmm we will see.
