How was everyone's day? Mine was very productive with my parents. I helped them get rid of at least 6 good-sized boxes of clothes, junk, and a baby mattress. My dad and I moved them to the garage and he is going to call the Vets to schedule a pick-up. My mom even got rid of several dresses that just screamed 1980s. They were just awful LOL She still needed to hold on to a few things, esp of my grandmother's. But she is coming to terms with some of it. I brought home a couple of baby clothes that I said I would see if Sam's nephew could wear them. I'll take a closer look and probably put them in my donate bag.

The photo album she said she found wasn't an album. It was actually - you are going to want to sit down for this- a large box full of loose photos. They spanned from the late 1940s to the mid 2010s. Pics of her as a little girl to pics of my kids as pre-teens-- even some pictures of Christopher. My gawd.

When I am back from my grocery pick-up, that is my plan for today. I am going to sort some of them by decades at least. Wish me luck!

LOL! Oh @faerywings you are definitely on your way down the rabbit hole with all of those photos! That will be great stuff.

Not much going on here today. Got a call from a contracting company. A company that I worked for a couple of years ago called and wanted to know if I was available for a contracting position. I like the company so I suspect that I'll be back to work soon. I need to call Medicare and find out how to change my insurance if I get one of these jobs. We can only hope that talking to Medicare isn't as difficult as talking to Social Security. #crazy-2 But I have already got my CheeryO posts done so I'm happy about that. I got groceries yesterday so that's taken care of. Oh, my very exciting life. I think that I will get some scrapping done!

@LSlycord Thank you for the good thoughts for my nephew. I am going to check in with BFF today to see if he ever got in touch with his friend or made any decisions yet.
Oh boy. Sorry to hear about the bird feeder situation. That is not pleasant. It must have been weird looking at Rae's frozen waterfall while you are having temps in the 80s.
I loved the idea of saving an outfit for Caitlyn to dress up, I had seen it before I left there. But even considering that, her dresses were so business/office attire. If Cait were to ever dress up 80s she would go the big hair and skinny jeans route.
That stink that you hit the delete key on your post. LOL that you are obsessively hitting Save Draft-- BTDT!
How are you and Brian feeling, Shaun is still feeling good?

@BrightEyes Blergh to Old Arthur. Go away, dude! I am glad that the heated massage chair helps.
Oh, I get it w/r/t writing down the timeline of your homes. I am trying to do that too, I created a doc and have been trying to pin down some sort of timeline.

@vickyday Thank you for the brutal truth about that day. I know it's not going to be good at all. So I alternate between trying to think about it and not being able to think of it at all.
That is a great idea about Cautlyn interviewing my dad. They have a very unique relationship. She is a brat and he gives it all back to her. :D
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the retreat. I hoe that you and Mark are all better by now

@taxed4ever It is really so wonderful to see you here every day again. ♥
Was the snow unexpected? Hope that your Gary got back and forth on the roads with no trouble- in your car. Will you drive his truck if you had to?
Hangovers stink! And yeah, it takes so much longer to bounce back these days ;)
You are such a good mom, I imagine that Heather was thrilled and *cozy* to get her birthday gift early. I hate to ask for help from my parents too, I was thinking the other day that I first started going to the FP in 2017 and somehow still haven't slipped up and mentioned it to my parents. They would be heartbroken and want to do more for us than they already do. I am crossing my fingers and toes that Heather gets the perfect job- and I am including Rae's Jen in there too.

You all know I cringed hard at the rats in Linda's pool. But for the rats LOL We are watching the Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix and the 2nd episode is named The Graveyard Rats. After Caitlyn checked DoesTheDogDie.com (yes, two rats die in the episode) we watched and were laughing at how the guy was terrified of all the rats and Cait kept saying how that would be her dream, not a nightmare *G*

@bcgal00 *enjoy* your snow days. (Keep it up by you as much as you can LOL). I had a coating on my car hood yesterday but there was nothing on the ground once I drove out of town. I can't believe that you struggled to get pics- not b/c of the cold, but how gorgeous they were even while wearing thick gloves.
Poor Jen is not catching a break, will the repair be covered by insurance?
That is the advice I have been giving my mom as she is purging. I suggest to her "one in, two out" but that's too difficult. I cheered her -- clapping my hands and jumping around a bit like a loon- when we looked at the boxes piled up, ready to go.
Not many small rodents around here. I almost never see squirrels or mice and no rats.
You poor thing!

@Cherylndesigns Ugh, the sleet is worse than snow. I am glad that you'll be warmed up in a day or so. The temp swings are not helpful though for your bones :(
hah, that is what I tell everyone, box wine is both economical and more environmentally conscious, less packaging, and no corks.

xoxoxo to everyone! ♥

Back for personals.

@faerywings nope...business office attire probably wouldn't fit with Cait's persona all that well. Didn't we used to have an emoji with the peace symbol. Oh my mind does wander when it comes to emojis...

I am feeling 100% and Brian is feeling about 80%. Shaun is just fine. I guess that's the advantage of "holing up" in his room.

@BrightEyes I'm sorry that the arthritis is kicking in. That is so miserable. I hope the weather clears up soon and then the arthritis should follow, right? And yes, can't have rats. So the bird feeder is packed away...just in case we move someday and I can try again.

@vickyday yes...there will always be thoughts of "Oh, I wish I had done that" once your parents are gone. I was extremely fortunate that I spent soooo much time with them. My mother was always my best friend...not because she tried to be popular with me but because we were so much alike. Brian always claims that I was born 30 and I kind of was...so I always wanted to please my parents. The thing that I miss the most...I know that my mom was always praying for me. She knew all of the details of my life and she prayed through them. I really miss it.

@taxed4ever had to laugh that DH always wonders why he didn't get 4WD. But he knows you have it...so that takes care of him! I'm thinking good thoughts about Heather. It is so tough right now. Glad that you were able to send her a nice comforter.

@bcgal00 I'm so sorry that Jen has the window crack to deal with now. But very glad that she has the two of you who can help her through it. And I hope that she can find a job with benefits soon. I guess my bird watching is going o require me to get out and about from here on. We had squirrels in Iowa and sometimes field mice would get in, depending on the weather and when the crops came in, but they were pretty easy to deal with.

Ok ladies...another #coffee-4and I'm out of here.

Morning, gals. Hope everyone is nice and snug in your homes. Seems like there is a lot of storms out there. There was an Icy wind blowing yesterday when I went to see the primary care doc. She ordered a med that might help with the hot flashes. I am more than willing to try it out. Good news is I don't need to see her again for a year to have BP check-up. She was happy with the BP and we talked about what to do for the arthritis - which I am already doing. Spent time of the phone cancelling the nerve test with neuro but rescheduling for a checkup with neuro doc on the Oct incident. PC doc wanted that done. Only a 6 week wait for that one (mid-March) instead of the 4 months wait I had with the nerve test. I sat down to read a bit after lunch and ended up falling asleep for over an hour. Didn't feel like doing anything the rest of the day and was in bed early last night. Need to call the base pharmacy to activate the Rx the doc wrote and get a refill on BP med this morning.

@faerywings had to LOL over the 'album' that really was a big box of family photos! Welcome the 'rabbit hole' of sorting, dating, naming people. Be thankful that your mom and dad are still around so you ask them questions about who, what, when and where. I agree, it would be a good idea to record your parents voices. Is your brother older than you??? That might explain why he remembers more than you about earlier years. Glad to hear that the parents weeded out several boxes of stuff and will have the Vets come to pick it up soon.

@LSlycord Glad you and Brian are feeling better now. Good news on the 'contract' job - if that is what you want. Was hoping the job with benefits would happen. GL in talking with Medicare about ins if/when you take the job.

Need more #coffee-4 and then get caught up on closing out Jan CT stuff and opening Feb CT stuff.

Happy February everyone!! I hope its a great month for all of you! I am quick in and out of here this morning, I will be spending my day in the kitchen again today. I need to make egg bites for DH and get a cheese cake made for his birthday tomorrow. I also have to make a birthday card for him and get downtown this afternoon to see if I can find a little something for a gift. I wanted to do that yesterday, but he had my CRV. He was able to take his truck today, the roads are all cleared and most of the snow has melted away.

@faerywings - You really have a big job ahead of you now LOL. What a treasure to find at your Mom and Dad's!! WTG on getting rid of all the clothing etc. Maybe this will put in a good mindset to do more purging. I wasn't able to find out if Heather got her new duvet on her bed yet, she had internet problems yesterday and I never got to talk to her much except a couple of txt messages about how frustrated she was with internet problem. Hopefully I will find out today. Thank you so much for the good thoughts for Heather finding some kind of employment !!

@LSlycord - It is so good to hear that you are 100% again and that your hubby is nearly there too! Lucky Shaun never got sick that is wonderful! Yes DH should have gotten a 4 wheel drive truck, but we are hoping to sell it when he retires (if that ever happens LOL). I hope that one day you will be able to have your bird feeder again. Unfortunately the darn things do attract rodents. Hope you don't have a long wait time to talk to medicare today!

@BrightEyes - Hope your friend Arthur is not bothering you again today! It will be good when you can get your new meds and hopefully the hot flashes will stop too! Enjoy your coffee! I am off to grab a cup also and get going with the day! #coffee-2

Good morning ladies. We got a few inches of snow and its still falling. It won't last long though. The temps are warming up to above freezing in a few days. Jen dropped her car off yesterday and she has to go thru ICBC insurance for the cracked fiberglass above the windshield so will need to pay the deductible for that. They told her to get Kia to tape it up really well so she can drive until the parts come in for repairs. She had a few other things done and they are looking at the motor b/c it makes a weird noise, so not sure if the car will come home today or not. She goes to Vancouver next week so if needed, she will have to take our car and if there is no snow, then Darrell can drive the truck and chauffeur me around (I won't drive his big clunky truck).

I will take Jen to pick up her car if necessary but hopefully it can wait until tomorrow when the roads might clear a bit. I just want to stay home today. Id like to get some CT work done. I streamed the first episode of Wolf Pack (on Paramount+) and like it. I think I'll have a burger for dinner with a keto bun and coleslaw.

@faerywings What a great find with the photos! I too have a box somewhere of really old photos that came to me after my aunt passed away. Some day I will scan and scrap some of them.

@BrightEyes Getting the extra rest is a good thing. Sounds like you are on top of your medical situation.

@LSlycord I bet it feels good that you will have a job soon. It sucks about losing the bird feeder but at least you should have lots of birds around your area to go see.

@taxed4ever I bet your cheesecake is good. Hope you find a good gift for G for his birthday.

I need to get out and clear the bird feeder and put some seed in, the birds are out there chirping away, huddled in the trees. Remi has her chin on my knee, mentally trying to will me to get up and get out there LOL. Time to go. HAGD everyone.

Good Afternoon Ladies,
Stupid me started working on our taxes at 1 am and didn't get in bed until 3. Then I couldn't go to sleep. When I finally fell asleep, DH was waking me up to kiss me goodbye as he headed off to work. I finally got up around 9:45. Mark and I had already planned on doing lunch today, so I hopped in the shower and went ahead and dressed for church tonight. Made my grocery list so I could get them while I was out, picked up Mark, ate at the Mexican restaurant, took him back to work and then got the groceries before heading home. Then I had to rearrange the freezer so I could fit all of the stuff I bought into it! Sure wish I had a bigger freezer!

I was hungry for lunch but ended up bringing it home because I couldn't eat it! I ate some of the zucchini and rice and that was it! IBS is such a nuisance! And the weather is still dark and dreary so my sinus headache just won't leave me alone!

I worked on the Feb Momma O challenge last night, so I want to get that posted today. I will check out the other designer challenges first this month. I never remember them or let myself run out of time to work on them. So, I'm going to do them first.

Have a great rest of your day!
