Whose idea was it to have Jaida's surgery before the holidays? Huhn?? I'd like to have a word with them. :voodoodoll:
Oh.
That would be me.

It's not like we had much of a choice. And I am super glad that she should be walking better by Christmas itself. It's just going to be a lot of time and effort and frustration. OTOH, it is wonderful to have her back home. Poor sweet girl is not feeling so good and has slept the majority of the time since we got her back here. They sent us home with a huge packet of discharge instructions and a link to her PT Program to be done at home. It's a lot! I made a checklist for the next three days of everything that she needs and put it on the fridge. Maybe this time we won't double-dose her on Trazadone like when she had her right knee surgery. She was *zonked* that time.
Friday, she'll need a different list and on Monday she start a new PT routine. When I was scrambling to make the list on Google Docs, I couldn't figure out how to add a checkbox. After 10-15 minutes of trying to draw one, I saw that there is a "Checklist" under Format. *slaps forehead*

I realized this morning that is exactly 10 years since I got my breast cancer diagnosis. I got my biopsy results two days before Christmas and I didn't say anything until the 26th. So almost 10 years of being cancer-free! I think I finished treatment in May or June of 2014. I am not worried about the mammo, only my run of crummy-ish luck right now. BUT--- I am not saying a word-- only knocking on wood and thinking positive thoughts. :sparkles1:

Gary's going to need to be in charge of Jaida since I am going to be out most of the day. He spoils the you-know-what out of her so I know she'll be happy with him by her side. Whisky has been sweet to her. And just as I imagined, W can get in and out of the baby-gated area with no problem. LOL!

If-- a big if-- I have time I hope to hang out in the Gallery. I don't think I will have time to scrap today but the Gallery is amazing and festive!

HAGD!!

PS: Caitlyn said to say thank you so much for the hugs you sent her for Squirrel :hug3:

@tanteva How are you feeling today, still getting better little by little? Hope that you were able to stay snuggled under the blankets yesterday and rest. Ahhhh!!! What a situation at the bus stop and a relief that no one got hurt. You must have been in a deep sleep to miss the commotion of that.
Have fun shopping if you haven't picked anything out yet. There is nothing at all that is worth buying in Jenn's shop.:joke:
Everything in her shop is 100% drool-worthy

@BrightEyes I hate those nights of broken sleep and weird dreams and have been having them a lot too. I hope that you slept better and more restful last night. You should have slept better the night before considering everything that you did. "Should have" = key words LOL
Happy that DD's GS is better too, nothing sadder than a little one not feeling good this time of year.

@vickyday I get a time in my head when I assume I should have a call. It's all on my assumptions but it doesn't seem to make a difference in the way I think/expect it. Do you do that too? It's silly of me and I know it, but I can't seem to stop.
That's too bad about your plans with Ilene getting canceled but IMHO it was a good call. Send some of the warm air here, please! (27*F yet still balmy compared to Eva)
That's awesome that you have a new bird and I hope that it finds a new home nearby.

Kay! Oh wow, glad that DS is okay after the earthquake!

@taxed4ever You sure were busy! I hear you about having to focus on one thing at a time. If I had a quarter for every time I said
"What am I supposed to be doing here?" the last few days, I might be able to pay off a good chunk of J's surgery Bwuhahah!
I hope that you were able to squeeze in some scrap time just for fun. ♥

@Cherylndesigns Cait's doing ok after Squirrel. She still feels sad and guilty but she has been able to focus on the babies, who are bonkers. Thanks for asking.
W has been pretty good with J. At one point when we first got home, she was sniffing J's butt (why do dogs have to do that? I mean, I know they do it for good reason but yuck LOL) and must have gotten too close to her leg and J let out a soft growl and W backed off.
That's fantastic about Chuck wanting more of the stir-fry. Is his energy coming back more too?
I wish I was a fast scrapper. I can't let things "be" on a page. Elements need to be recolored or masked or filtered or whatever else I can come up with. I am never satisfied, not even after I post them. I'd love to scrap pages in my head before sitting down but sadly, there simply isn't enough room in there for one more thing :rotfl:

I'd better get going. I need to get dressed to pick up my groceries, come home, shower (Remember: no deodorant) , and head out. I ;m bringing deodorant in my purse so I don't feel odd shopping afterward. The fellow customers will thank me.

Getting ready to call Ilene to see how she is doing!
Mid 30's here this a.m. but still better than Eva!

Quick in and out,
I had a rough day after canceling my outing with Ilene. The headache would not leave and it is trying to make a comeback today! Plus I had IBS flair its ugly head and I was in bed by 7:30. Felt better after a couple of hours and since I hadn't slept anyway, I got back up and watched BattleBots with Mark. Not my favorite, but its what was on, lol! Made a grocery order while watching.

Picked up the groceries already. Need to take some Tylenol after I eat a little bit. Then need to call and see how Ilene is doing.

Have a great day!

Morning everyone, it’s our Christmas Hike and luncheon today and DH has taken the day off to go with me. So I have to be quick in and out of here this morning. I was happy to be able to post my layout to the Day 4 challenge yesterday, I had forgotten that I did that one LOL. Got a few cards made and puttered around in the craft room. Talked with Heather and Hunter, he has a stomach bug, but hopefully is well enough to go to his Christmas Concert today. Also talked with our Son Jason and Isaac and Sadie, its been way too long since we had a chat!! I have to get some breakfast for DH before we go, I will wait to eat until after our hike. Sorry no time for personals but I will wish you all a wonderful Wednesday and I hope you have a great time with Day 6! I bet everyone will have a Christmas song playing in their heads all day today LOL!!

Another cold morning here but should be warmer in the afternoon. Will be going to the local Post Office, quick stop at Public Library, gas up the car and stop at grocery store. I may run by the used book/DVD store while I am out... depending on how I am feeling by then. My stamina waxes and wanes so I never know until I am out as to how much I can do until I am out. The places are all in the same area so make a circle to do them all.

Yes, I was so glad to hear from DSon#1 and know they came through the earthquake all right. We lived in Southern California for many years and experienced a lot of earthquakes... fortunately none that damaged our houses or where DH worked. I was a bit concerned about DS as their condo is in a high-rise building.

@faerywings You sure have a lot going on right now - so not surprised your are feeling a bit stressed. Thanks for passing along Cait's hugs to us. So glad that J is home.

@vickyday Oh, no... sorry you are still feeling bad. Just as well you and Ilene called off the get-together.

@Cherylndesigns Good news that Chuck is wanting to eat more. Had to LOL about you 'scraping in your head'... I do that a lot, too. A new collection will set it off as soon as I see it. Sorry that you have a sleep-problem but sounds like you know what to do until you can go to sleep.

Time to get moving... HAGD

I wonder how many young people would know what the phrase, "waxes and wanes" means, lol?! I'm learning to take a break when my body (back, especially) tells me I've had enough, for sure!

Good afternoon.

I've been up for a few hours, but have been busy. Fixed Chuck some breakfast, and folded a dryer full of clothes and have one more to go. I did a lot of laundry yesterday because we decided to wash all of Chuck's blankets and his bedspread. They take a longer time to dry. I decided while I was at it to wash all of my throws - it had been awhile for them, too. The dogs like to lay on them when they're on the couch, so even though they didn't smell doggie, I decided to freshen them up.

We had Bailee all afternoon and until about ten last night. Ava and her BF had somewhere to go, and they wanted me to take pictures of them all dressed up, before they left. They came out so cute. It was very windy, but I told Ava to just let her hair blow and the pictures were so cute. She had on a long, fancy dress and he had on a suit.

Chris @faerywings sounds like J is adjusting and why do dogs sniff each other's butts? Supposedly, It's their way of recognizing each other - however, how do you explain how they recognize each other outside when they see each other? Go figure. :floorlaugh: :runningdog:. We laugh every time all of the dogs get together because they all go through the butt sniffing routine. We always say "yes, they (add a name) still smell the same." Glad Cait is feeling a little less guilty. I get it though, we always feel guilty no matter what we do. That's so weird that it's been ten years to the day and I know you'll be glad to get your mammo. I'm so glad you got your insurance figured out and could find a place that would do it free (per your insurance). Had to laugh about no more room in your head for doing layouts up there. :dancingbfly:

Kay @BrightEyes why doesn't it surprise me that you scrap in your head, too? You sure get a lot of layouts done, too! If I see a kit I love, the "mind process" begins. I know we both dream about layouts, too.:floorlaugh:

Vicky @vickyday sorry to hear that your IBS kicked up. Do you eat a fairly bland diet? I know I have to - whenever I go crazy and eat something I should not eat, I pay for it. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Trudy @taxed4ever hope you have a good day with your Gary.

I just posted my layout for Day 6 and yes, I'll be singing Christmas songs all day, too. I want to do Joyfulheart's Christmas song challenge, too.

I know what you mean, Vicky. It can come out of nowhere. If I stay on a bland diet most of the time, I'm ok. But I cheat once in awhile and I usually pay for it. Chocolate is what I should never eat again, but sometimes I cheat and know I'll have to pay for a little indulgence.
