Happy Day After! Is everyone ready to rest and relax? As soon as I am able to get a clear path to walk in my house, I hope to do as little as possible today.
We had a really nice day yesterday with the family. I will have to fill you in later since I have to finish my coffee, take the dogs outside, and then say good morning to Gary and Cait who are awake now too.

::grouphug

That didn't take too long, I thought that it was Caitlyn who was awake but it is Scott and Leah. They are heading to Gardens near Philly that has Christmas lights among the plants. It is about 3 hours from here and their admission time is noon. You can imagine that is something Scott is going to really enjoy. I can't wait to see the pictures of the place.

The kids are all truly fine. Brendan's arm is bruised and Cait has bruising on her neck/chest area and a small cut on her chin. Scott- as he says, he is "invincible." Grr- Gary used to say the same thing and now he fully states that he is "vincible." Nothing worse than a 22 yo thinking he is invincible. Brendan's car is most likely totaled. The entire front end is crushed. Poor guy-- my mom got him the car mount for his cell phone-- the one that specifically fits his car. Cait got him a back of the seat car organizer. Now he has no car. :(

Everyone loved their gifts-- Arlene got teary when she saw the family tree that I made for her. My ILs enjoyed their album from their trip. My dad was thrilled that I found so many low-sodium snacks and wants the recipe I use to make his pickles. And the dogs! We will never, ever be able to leave any sort of wrapped gift around. They had a blast opening everything and promptly destroyed several of their new toys.

I have so much food leftover so I won't need to cook much for dinner the next night or so if no one minds junk food.

HAGD!!!

Kay- I was thinking of you yesterday and I hope that however you experienced the holiday, you are OK with it. If you broke down at dinner, that is what you needed to do. I am sure that your family understands and feels the same. Hugs!!
It was a really nice surprise the family that Gary was with us. I was saying hello to my SIL when she noticed Gary and she blew right past me to hug him instead.

Karen- hope you had a wonderful and non-rainy day in BC!

Trudy- How you feel about your Gary and snoring is how I feel about mine with his restless legs and how he has to crack all of his joints.
Did the grands all love their gifts?
Do your ILs have power by now?

Kay- your dressing sounds very delicious! I hope that the weather hasn't been too cold or snowy.

Rae- the photos you posted on FB were beautiful! How was your dinner with B yesterday? So happy that you were able to spend it together.

Hi, Nancy! Hope that you are enjoying the day with all of your guys!

Felis- Did you get presents for the dogs and cats? Hope that you had a very happy Christmas!!

xoxoxo!!!

Morning, all... Got up to cloudy skies at 5:30AM. It is snowing now (9AM)... no wind - just large snowflakes drifting down in silence. Not sure if it will stick as the temp is just above freezing. No complaints as we need the moisture. Hope the mountains get lots of snow as the snow pack is so low there.

Chris, I managed yesterday better than I thought I would. No breakdown until I was back home again, thank goodness. The dressing turned out so good - again! Think I have a good handle on how much Olive Oil to use. DD#3 kept taking bites and declared it was great without any gravy! Most of the family was there - except for 1 grandson and his fiance as he was sick. It was a much quieter day than usual... we were all missing Bill.

One of my gifts was another DVD of Outlanders series. It is Blu-ray - and I don't have a Blu-ray player. After a discussion about how that is the standard format for movies now... guess I will break down and buy one. GSon-in-law volunteered to hook it up for me when I get it. I may even get the 'streaming' one so I can watch Netflix movies... just have to remember to buy the cable I need for it. I will get him to check out why Bill's tower computer won't turn on... it was new last year... only used a couple of months. And he can help me sort out what cable/recharter I need for the laptop. Have all these computers only one is working right now... :typing:

Chris, so glad that the kids weren't hurt too bad yesterday. What a shame about his car. Hope the insurance will pay off on it so he can get another one soon. Love left-overs so no cooking for awhile for you... yea!! You deserve a few days of resting and relaxing.

Happy Boxing Day ladies!! I am sorry I did not get in here yesterday to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, but well I am sure you all understand! We had a lovely morning, just the two of us and we both spoiled each other with things that we did not really need, but thought might be nice to have. DH loved his calendar and took it with us to SIL's to show it off  I got a google home mini and so will have fun setting that up at some point over the next couple of days. Also received some new hiking clothes, my DH has good taste and I will be styling on my next hike LOL! The only bad thing about not hosting Christmas is that we do not have any leftovers  There was a ton of food at SIL's as per usual but it was all very yummy and we had a lovely time! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas also!

Chris - OMG I had to go back and read about what happened to the kids!! You must have been frantic when you first heard they had been in an accident! Thank goodness everyone is ok! Sorry to hear that poor Brendan's car is most likely totalled, but it seems that is the way it works with Insurance companies, its just easier to write them off. Of course everyone loved their gifts from you! We knew that they would! Yes my grands all loved their presents, however Jackie had to reattach a few items that came loose in the travel to their house. Mason and Hunter got very spoiled too and love everything that they got. It was cute because the day before Christmas, Mason told his Mom that he wanted to get rid of all of his old toys to make room for the ones that Santa would be bringing. So they cleaned out all the old stuff. Heather said they got rid of two big garbage bags full of old and broken stuff. So nice!

Kay - We have rain and they are predicting a bit of snow today, but most likely just in the higher elevations. I imagine that the whole family were thinking of your dear husband and missing him very, very much! Good for you for keeping it together until you arrived home, nothing wrong with breaking down of course, it is to be expected! Sounds like your dressing was a bit hit !! Darn it now you have to get a Blu Ray player, oh well there should be some great sales out there on them and yes don't forget to get your HD cord to go with it! Hope that your GS-in-law can figure out the issues with the computer! Enjoy your Outlander series when you get everything installed!! Wish I had left overs, now I have to figure out what to have for dinner tonght :mmph:

Time to get dressed and get on with the day! I hope to start painting a picture that SIL and brother want for their refinished bedroom. They arrive home on the 27th back from Australia and they will be trying to catch up on their time change for a couple of days and then their son will fly out on New Years eve with his family to spend the next few weeks with them. So I have some time before worrying about getting this painting done. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Boxing Day!

Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. We had a busy day, we were exhausted by day's end. Started with gifts, then breakfast, walked Taz and then up to the hospital to spend the day with B. We had a great day with her, she loved all the food and gifts. It was so great to see so much laughter and giggling from her. The staff at the hospital loved the cookie assortment we brought them. We got home around 7:30, walked Taz and were too tired to care about eating anything. We had a banana and an orange and then a few cookies. We'd had a bit late lunch of turkey dinner leftovers so we were all fine. Watched 3 more episodes of "Haunting Of Hill House" and can't wait to see the final 2 tonight. I'm going out for a jog with Taz around lunchtime and then home to get ready for an afternoon movie. I need to see what's on so we can decide what theatre to go to. Then we'll come home, walk Taz again and settle in for a casual comfy TV night.

I'm still iffy about getting up really early tomorrow morning so Jen and I can head up towards Whistler to go eagle viewing. It's going to be light snow and freezing temp so not sure if I want to drive in that. Haven't decided yet.

Chris - how scary to hear of the car accident but glad to hear they are ok. Poor B though to have lost his car.

Trudy - have fun painting.

Kay - I made homemade stuffing this yr for my hubs and Bailey and they loved it. I haven't done that in many yrs. I had one bite and it was heavenly LOL...but with my low carb wheat-free diet, dressing doesn't fit into that.

BTW....can't wait to try it out....I got an air fryer so sometime over the next few days I want to use it. Jen got me a scale that measures my BMI and stuff so need to get that set up today too.

Have a wonderful day, everyone. Maybe I'll get back in her later tonight to see how everyone is doing.

Good morning, girls!
I love this lazy, peaceful time of the year between Christmas and New Year when all is festive whit small old rituals and mostly time spent in watching movies and food. I like the promise that all bad will end with the year and we will open new blank page on which can draw whatever you want.
It was almost traditional Christmas, with the small exception that we didn't received the snow we expected and it was muddy and very cold, as in few previous years. Looks like this is the new typical Christmas weather, but it's ugly and I miss the snow holidays from my childhood and from the movies of course. We went to visit my uncle (and the other one was there too). Then my aunt came to visit us. Usual holidays visits.
I texted to one friend from the summer, but never received greetings back :( . But this year I cut off few 'friends' from my past from my greeting list, so I guess this is what karma bring us. I'm just too tired to play this game when we are still friends, but only with one call on New Year with the only intent of the call to compare our lifestyles.

Chris, OMG, this for the car accident is so scary! I'm so happy and grateful that something up there is keep them safe! Totally understandable why you are received panic attack! But hey you have one more thing to be grateful, do not turn it into a source of fear!
The success of your gifts didn't surprise me! And yes my pets got tons of presents from whole my family, but this year is only food and treats, because they have already too many toys which don't actually used, so I decided to not risk. Actually unpackaging and testing of these special treats was very fun.

Kay, you was in my thoughts often yesterday and I'm so happy to hear that you decided to go on this meeting with your family. It's normal this pain in your heart to be so huge, but it will be there for a long /forever. But the kids will growing up, take their lives in their own hands, maybe move away, and you have only few years with small grandchild's to create special memories.
Oh, totally, it's so annoying that the movies formats moves so fast, I have first two parts of Harry Potter on video cassette, then misses the moment to bought them again on dvd and now they are only on Blu-ray, which I don't have too. So I actually can't watch them and have to start from number 3. Hope that your SIL will can help you with the computer stuff!

Rae, I'm so happy to hear your story! Looks like you are satisfied from the new B's hospital. I know that it's difficult for your maternal heart, but if you look on that from side point of view, actually there were also worse Christmas for her at the past.
So you don't have plans to visit your other children this year or what?!

Trudy, are google home mini something as Alexa?! These small assistants sounds as a fun! Do you have smart home when they can show their full potential?! I'm afraid that my house is completely dumb. But my sister have a friend who have a smart house and command almost everything in it from distance.
Did you finished your Santa dummy board?!

Nancy, I'm sure you have wonderful time at your son's house, with your family and his fun friends!

Jean, I hope you and your husband have funny and festive time too! If I'm got it correctly, you only send gifts to your BIL (this one with the cat) and you aren't on visit to him, or... ?!

Zanthia, I'm curious what happened with Dory, and what was your final decision. But no matter what it was I hope you have happy holidays!

And Angela, actually I'm a little bit worried from your silence. But with the kids on Christmas I guess you are busy and overwhelmed but in a nice way!

OK, dears,
Another my page was rejected by the Cherry O on a Christmas Eve. Can you imagine on a Christmas Eve!!!
Every time when I try to stay here they shows me clear that I'm not welcome at O anymore. So I don't have what more to do except to greet you with goodbye!
Be happy and safe at the new year!
I'll miss you so much! Hugs and kisses!:hug::cofbath:
