Good morning my lOves!

Just a quick fly-by to wish you all a wonderful day!
I'm hoping for the best here. Caitlyn has a cold/fever. Tested negative for Covid but will test again before the family comes here. I am dragging big time but I can rest tomorrow.

It was a rough Christmas Eve. My dad isn't well, my mom complained and I straight up told her that he is having end-of-life issues. (Merry Christmas???) I was on my feet way too long and POTS was rearing its ugly head. It has bigger undereye circles than I do. ;)

The Cousins' Secret Santa was amazing- Sam Facetimed and my niece cast her to the TV so everyone got to see the exchanges. I am not sure which gift was the "best." Tom got Julia a light-up Christmas Stitch-- about 3 feet tall and she carried that thing around like it was her baby. She is *obsessed* with Stitch. Sam got Juliet a stuffed eagle, a t-shirt that said bird killer, and "joke" euthanasia paperwork on her vet's letterhead. The backstory is that Juliet--almost done with Vet school- had to euthanize a bird this semester and that was an inside joke with the cousins. Julia and Dylan had Scott and Sam so they worked together and got them pot holders with their faces on them. (Julia and Dylan's faces, not Scott and Sam's! LOL)

Scott is coming here for breakfast/gifts around 9 an d then people will be in and out the rest of the day.

Wishing you all so much love, laughter, and peace!
xoxoxoxo

@vickyday and @bcgal00 I'm sending you healthy thoughts, chicken soup, and some Nyquil if you need it!
Also included is a bottle of garlic pills-- that has been my go-to cold prevention since I was teaching in the 90s. I took two before I went to bed last night. Just in case

@BrightEyes my wish for you is that you have a book somewhere in your house to read until the library opens up tomorrow. :floorlaugh:

@AK_Tracy Thank you for making me laugh despite being out of spoons and all of my knives are rusty and dull.
Tindamax is an antibiotic that kills the cyst form of Lyme bacteria and it causes bad flares. When I was really sick, I would leave Post-its by the coffee pot, warning everyone to stay away, for their safety as well as mine.

BTW: my family, mostly Caitlyn, have been calling me out for not taking my own advice about resting and not needing everything to be perfect. I have to laugh b/c it's true!

@scrap-genie :hug3: :lovey3:
A quick thank you to you too- a few years ago you sent me a bunch of links to some birding sites. I am in no way a good birder, but I am getting so much enjoyment out of looking at them and trying to figure out what species they are and what they eat and al that fun stuff!

@bcgal00 Are your doggie pics on FB? I am going to have to go check them out! Give everyone hugs and the doggies some belly rubs!

@Cherylndesigns Watch out-- chicken soup is coming your way too!
I'm sending you the biggest hugs I can squeeze through the interwebs. Enjoy what you can and cry when you need to. Know that you are loved. ♥

@Su_Sanne Hahah! I spent more time on my hair and makeup yesterday than I did in the past month put together and still looked old and tired :lol23:
Wishing you and your human family and dogs a wonderful day!

Good morning and Merry Christmas!
I am feeling better today and was able to stay in bed the whole night! But, alas, Mark sounds like he's getting it!
Hope you all have a wonderful day with family and friends!

Merry Christmas to all or Happy Hanukkah tonight. :xmas9:

Chris @faerywings so glad you are enjoying birds when you can see them. Wish you had someone to help you with that. So sorry the meds are doing a number on you, but guess it needs doing. Sorry about your dad's health, really hoping he can improve.

Also wishing chicken soup and feeling better to those who need it.

Merry Christmas to every one. Woke up this morning to a delightful text message with Santa and reindeers and Merry Christmas greetings/music from my sister. She is visiting with her kids on the US east coast (Eastern Time) while I am here in NM (Mountain Time) - 3 hours earlier! It was 6 AM my time but what a nice way to wake up!! Yesterday was so nice... had calls from Granddaughter, DD#1, and Sister. I was really feeling the love. On FB this morning, I saw photos of the great-granddaughters decorating the gingerbread house and cookies and them opening presents! Even though I am not with them - they make sure I can share some of their Christmas fun.
@BrightEyes my wish for you is that you have a book somewhere in your house to read until the library opens up tomorrow. :floorlaugh:
Oh,, yes...Chris... I have plenty of books to read (huge collection). I am re-reading the last 3 of the World of Others books by Anne Bishop. I finished the 1st of them "Lake Silence" last evening. As you can see... my bedroom has a few books and I have several more bookcases filled with books!!:giggle4::floorlaugh::rotfl:

I am so sorry to hear that so many of you (and/or your family) are sick... @faerywings and Cait @Cherylndesigns @bcgal00 @vickyday and others. Sending healing thoughts to all of you.

Between phone calls and getting wrapped up in reading my book, I didn't get the pumpkin pie made yesterday. And when I got the ham slices out of the freezer, I discovered a slice of pumpkin pie in there so decided to have it for dessert today.... So I skipped cooking supper (had a sandwich) and will fix the ham dinner today.

Need another :coffeedrinker:and get dressed. Have a blessed day!

I just had to pop back in and share my Christmas present to myself... I used my Amazon Gift Card to buy:
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Fantastic Beasts: the Secrets of Dumbledore DVDs. Couldn't resist as they were on my "buy list". I called DD#3 to tell her and she suggested that she would come down one day and we would spend the day watching all 3 of the Fantastic Beasts DVD... while munching on Popcorn and candy!!! :D Sounds like a fun way to spend the day.

Merry Christmas everybody! I'm feeling a little better today, too. I didn't feel great yesterday or last night, but I dragged up at 8 this morning so I could get myself together to go to Adrienne's at ten. Yes, it takes me that long to get going in the morning - don't judge me. :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for all the virtual chicken soup and hugs, they must have worked. I'm doing better than I thought I would (so far). Tonight after it's all over, we'll see. One of my sisters just called and we chatted for a while and I've had tons of texts since I got up. My crazy grandkids start these "group chats" that sometimes go on all day. I woke up yesterday morning to 35 texts. (Happy Christmas Eve). I have them silenced, because I can't stand that ding ding ding all the time. They're very chatty. :lalala::ignore1:

Kay @BrightEyes how fun that you got Fantastic Beasts with your GC! I've been wanting some turtleneck dickies (can you believe they still make those?) and ordered a beige one today. I have a couple of sweaters that have lower necks that I like for winter, so if I like the one I ordered, I'll order another color.

Chris @faerywings oh your parents.......................Merry Christmas is right. I yi yi those two. I'm so happy that you're having a good day in spite of that. All of those presents sounds so awesome and the kids put some real thought into them.

I hope everybody is having a good day. We're eating again at 6 at Adrienne and Roger's. I'm so glad I feel like eating.

Love and Christmas hugs to all.
