What day is it? I have no idea where I am, what time it is, what I am supposed to be doing. It didn't help that Scott thought yesterday was Saturday and Gary thought it was Sunday. :tongue1:
it really is making my brain a mess that I have so many loose ends that need to be dealt with and it's like dealing with quicksand.

My kitchen is quite a mess but dang if I didn't have a great day with Caitlyn yesterday. Exhausting but fun. We started at 9 and I gave up on the last of the dishes in the sink at 4.30. We ordered pizza for dinner and that was such a good decision. We watched Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Grinch- a perfect end to the day.
The day started with me in a PANIC. I couldn't find the recipe cards. I had my notes on some of the ingredient adjustments since we double and triple the recipes. But lots of things were left out. I have had those cards since I started baking these when I was a kid. No idea where they could be, I only keep them in one place with the rest of the Christmas cookie recipes. I said "I am not panicking yet" over and over. Then I remembered-- I shared one of the recipes *here* for a virtual cookie exchange! :whoo: I found it- a post from 2104. I was literally a bit woozy for a bit. heh.
We also made some of the cookies without nuts for Gary. Walnut balls and walnut cups- minus the walnuts.*G*

I have so much to do today. I have to start dropping off cookies with the neighbors and the vet, then pick up my groceries. I have two orders to pick up at Walgreens but one has been delayed. Ugh. My dad is coming up with some food for us for Christmas Eve/Morning in case we can't get down because of the weather tomorrow. I need to finish up the baskets and make cards, a few more things to wrap.
One last thing I am going to have to do is start our "Gingerbread House" for the Zoom party tomorrow night. I am not using gingerbread but will rig up something with graham crackers. I am going to decorate it with Halloween cookie decorations- a haunted house. Do not ask me how I am going to do it b/c I have no idea!

On that note, I am going to take a deep breath, write some personals, and get going.
Hugs and love!

Note: Caitlyn did *not* need to put any butter in her waistband. Insomnia and early waking in 2020 came in handy and I had it out on the counter in plenty of time.

Trudy! Oh no! What a mess with your oven and power. I would have cried! Is the oven working again? If anyone can get it working again it is your Gary, but I can imagine that you don't want to take a chance of it not working halfway through cooking your roast. At least the snowblower worked perfectly.
That has to be a relief that Heather go the package. Scott is stressing that a bunch of things that he ordered aren't here yet either. 2020- It is what it is. :?
I am so happy that the client is working with you on the painting and the supplies. Whew!

Kay- have you turned the corner of the cold? I hope so. I hate when they drag on and on. Yikes about the nail breaking- at least it wasn't as bad as the first one.

Cheryl- great weather for packing and being with family. Are you counting down the hours yet? I am so thrilled for you and your family!
When I was scrolling through the photos to find the one I shared, I kept laughing at the antics of my family. My kids are off the wall bonkers!

Thinking of all of you! xoxoxo

Morning all.

Kay- have you turned the corner of the cold? I hope so. I hate when they drag on and on. Yikes about the nail breaking- at least it wasn't as bad as the first one.

I am keeping my fingers crossed on that, Chris. Only woke up once last night and fell right back asleep. Took my meds 1st thing and the sneezing is much calmer today. Probably have another 3-4 days before it is gone. Yes... thank goodness this last broken nail was not near as bad as the 1st one. But... boy... does it feel different typing or doing things with such short nails!!

Glad to hear that you and Cait got most of the baking done. Know you will pull the rest of the Christmas prep together in time. Glad your dad is helping out by bringing some food for the big 2-day event. <<< hugs >>>

Trudy, hope your DH was able to fix the oven. Or did you decide to take the roast elsewhere - just in case?? That reminded me of one holiday when my kitchen sink backed while I was in the midst of cooking dinner for the family and others [about 15 people there and ready to feast]. It was a crazy hour while the guys worked on it. Finally got it done with dinner only delayed about an hour.

Cheryl, guess you are in the throes of packing and getting ready for the big move. Sounds like there will be a big crowd for Christmas. Hope all are well and everything goes smoothly.

Nancy, our sports teams here have postponed their games due to Covid. We have a 14 day quarantine for anyone coming into the state. They were going to play out-of-state but the quarantine also applied to the teams when they came back. At least you are getting to see some of the hockey games.

Rae, thinking about B... hope things are okay with her and those around her.

We have a cold front coming today... the winds have already picked up and the temps are not rising much. Just glad I am not going out for the rest of the week. The mail can wait until it warms back up abit next week. Hope you all have a good holiday.

Good afternoon ladies! Just popping in to say hi and then I am out the door again to get my hair done. I will pick up my calendar after my hair appt. then pick up my grocery order after that. It will be good to get home again, just in time for wine o'clock LOL. Today is sunny a bit warmer so things are melting a bit. No I have not gotten my oven fixed yet and DH will wait until he is on his four days off over the Christmas Holiday to look at it. So no Prime Rib Roast for us, it will be a rotisserie chicken instead, which is fine by me and I can cook it in my great little toaster oven. A different Christmas with a very different Christmas dinner. Oh well it is what it is! Hope that everyone is busy with their preparations for the next few days and that all of you are keeping safe and well! Talk to you all tomorrow!

Hi everyone. Things are stable around here. Bailey has remained healthy and the caregiver is recovering nicely, feeling somewhat better. We had a conference call with B's team yesterday and everyone seems to be on the same page as us as to B's care and needs.

So we are feeling more optimistic about B's health right now although we'll be happy when we get thru this wk and see how she feels by next wkend, as that should be the end of the caretaker's contagion.

Xmas sure is going to be low key around here. Jen and I baked one batch of cookies and I'll make one more batch today and tomorrow will make rice krispie squares for D (his fave). That's only about 1/4 of what we normally would bake but no need to this year. Felt bad for D, he made his yearly tradition of jam-jam cookies on Sunday and they didn't turn out very well. I think he was too stressed with life right now and wasn't concentrating well. That's ok, he'll have other things to eat.

I'm heading out with Taz for a walk soon and then off to our natural grocery store for a few last minute things and then shouldn't have to leave the house for the rest of the wk.

I'll wrap gifts this afternoon before baking and dinner is just D and I as Jen is working late so burger and salad for him and I have leftovers so easy dinner.

Hope everyone is ready for Xmas and stays healthy. BFN
