Happy Wednesday! Yes, my fingers did get a bit twitchy typing December. I am not too happy with that.
I don't think I finished anything yesterday but I got a lot "done." I spent some time in the Gallery here and I even scrapped a LO for the first challenge. That made me happy. I asked Gary to 3D print little Snoopy ornaments for my brother and SIL and they came out so cute. I found some images online and today I am going to paint them. I did some more crocheting (I promise I will get pics soon!). And we decorated a bit. There was some good and not no pleasant. The mice must have thought that the boxes were cozy places to live and some of them had a bunch of mouse poop. Everything had to be wiped down before we put them out. But the good part is that it forced us to decide whether some of the decorations were worth keeping. If they weren't sentimental and were broken or simply taking up space, we tossed them. Too bad that the garbage collection had already come by.

The traps have been catching a lot of mice the last few days, I think the water in the basement has been forcing them upstairs. My wacky daughter called the traps temporary residences and has been feeding them Cheerios through the slats. :p

Today we are running up to the vet with Olivia for a quick pre-op check. Her tumor hasn't grown much at all in the last few weeks so Caitlyn wants his opinion if it is necessary at this time. As I said before, it is a balance between removing the tumor (they are benign) and the anesthesia at her age. If the tumor grows enough to make it difficult to use her arm, that isn't good but the anesthesia could be worse. She trusts this vet 100% so whatever he suggests will be good for her.

After that, I have more housework and laundry and then gift-crafting.

Wishing everyone a fantastic and joy-filled day!

Chris, we were at 28 degrees here in NC when we got up at 6:15 this morning! YIKES! So, I'm wondering if I need to go check for mice, too! We have a back office that they seem to always want to congregate to! I think I'll wait and let DH do the checking, LOL!

I got several rows of knitting done yesterday. I'll try to post a picture. I learned a new way to graft in a new skein of yarn so you don't have to mess with the ends! It is a pain, but is worth the effort!

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi Vicky! That pattern is fantastic! It is really cold here too, it was flurrying driving over the mountain to get to the vet this morning. Stay warm today!

I am back from the vet and Livvie is set for surgery Friday morning. The vet said that other than her tumor, she is "boring." That is good news from a health standpoint for a 2 yo rattie.

Quick personals before I need to move on with my day.

Kay- I love the Hope kit and was happy to use it for my Lyrics LO. Like I said to Vicky, it is bundle-up weather here too. Hope you are cozy and warm.
Ugh about missing out on the fresh salad ingredients but the fruit sounds good too. We put gas in Cait's car this morning and at $2.15/gallon it only took $20 to get to 3/4 of a tank. That is the one bright side of the pandemic.
I look fwd to seeing photos of the family heirloom tree.

Nancy- wow, the temps dropped up here, by you too??
Did you get the handlebars adjusted on the bike? I was surprised that Ray wasn't upset by the thunder. She can't hear it but she feels it. I am guessing that she was too tired to care. We will look for Sherlock!

Trudy- I love the Christmas party here too and I love it when Buddy comes by to visit! I am thrilled that you are at the point of adding the finishing touches for the calendars! WTG!!! I am even more thrilled about your carpeting!!

Vicky- I loved the photo of the throw! I am not a good crocheter at all. But it is what it is. My mom's neighbor gave me a HUGE box of yarns so I might as well use that for gifts as long as I doing homemade stuff this year.

Rae- Ahhhh, clean teeth must feel so good! Glad that your back is feeling a bit better.

Cheryl- Bwhahaha- you thought your house was going to be quiet! :pound: Ava and Braden will keep ya on your toes. They are such good kids!
We haven't put the camera card back into the trail cam in weeks.. I wonder if there is any difference in the movement of the wildlife with the seasons changing. I would love to see the coyotes again and of course, I miss our bears.
I love Ball Jars and one of these days when I have some extra grocery money I am going to get the plastic lids for them. The metal ones are so hard for my arthritic hands to unscrew.
My grandmother was a knitter/crocheter too and she tried to teach me but I was way too scootchy to sit still long enough. I wish I had paid better attention.
If you need any scrub recipes let me know, I have tons!

Jean. Ugh. Yuck. That is literally all I can say about that. Blergh. That too.

Felis- as my kids say- "Adulting is HARD!"
Sorry that you had to go through all of that bank stuff but it is important. I am not sure if this will make you feel any better, but I had been putting off calling my health insurance provider to see if I needed to update/reapply for my benefits. We didn't have any change in income, but Scott's status went from full-time student to unemployed. I should have called in May but I just couldn't deal with it. Now it is the end of the year and he was ineligible fo this plan I only had a few weeks to figure it out. So don't feel bad- it happens to people way older than you :p

Cheryl. Thank you so much for not telling me Fred's story until you knew it was going to end ok. *sighs in relief* It is hard being such suckers for nature cuz nature doesn't always play nice. But your grandkids are the BEST! Tell them I love what they did!!! And tell Fred I love him too and hope that cut heals quickly for him

Morning all... woke up to snow this AM. Already have a couple of inches and it is still coming down. We weren't suppose to get snow - just cold. hahahaha Good thing that I had not planned on going out. Forecast is for snow tomorrow so will see if this is melted off by then. The the trees look so pretty with their snow covered bare branches. Managed to snap a few photos then almost fell when my foot slipped on the icy patio. That was enough warning to send me back inside.

Good for you, Chris, that you got a LO made. I worked on a few myself. So sorry about the basement flooding and the mice in the house. Always hate when they burrow into boxes and nest there. Yes, it is a good time to toss out old/broken decorations and get the others cleaned up and ready to go on the tree. Wow, didn't know Gary had a 3D printer... how neat that he could print out some ornaments for you.

Vicky, looks like you have a good start on that comforter/throw. Yes, learning how to graft in a new skein of yarn is good skill. That photo makes we want to dig out some yarn and needles.

Morning everyone, brrrr!!! Its chilly here this morning and very foggy! All the roofs in the neighbourhood are covered in frost. The fog sits down around the lake but the mountain tops are now glowing with the morning sunshine on them. It will be a clear, beautiful day! Yesterday I spent my morning getting my page done for the lyric challenge and then this morning I realized I did not get it posted in the gallery  Got a few presents wrapped and then went for my swim. It was nice as I had the lane to myself. Picked up my calendar at Staples and I might have to fix up my January page as the photo of Hunter is pretty dark, oh well there usually is something that I have to change on them so one little adjustment isn't so bad. The gallery here at the O is filled with so much beauty and I will be happily commenting on pages today! Other than that I will get some cards ready to mail and make a trip to the Post Office because I need to buy a lot of stamps! I am excited to get the carpet installed today, well I hope it will be today as they haven't called yet to say what time they will be here. :mmph:

Chris - Well how cool is that, that your Gary has a 3D printer!! I bet the ornaments turned out great! Sorry you are having to deal with mouse poop, sure hope you can get those little critters back outside where they belong! A good time to purge some of your old decorations though, something that I should probably do this year too! We are getting way too much stuff accumulating in the crawl space!

Vicky - your knitting looks amazing and how great to be able to graft in the new skein of yarn!

Kay - Wow it must have been a shock to wake up to snow on the ground! Hope that it melts away for you soon! The trees must look so pretty with fresh snow on them though! Glad that you did not slip and fall on the patio!! That would have been awful!! Stay warm and safe inside today!

Rae - Good luck with your dental appt. today! Glad to hear that your back is doing a bit better!

Jean - Wow that is a lot of snow! My DH will be jealous, he is itching to try out his new snowblower LOL.

Felis - Every time I see your AVI it makes me smile!! Thanks for that! I am sorry that you had such a difficult time with the banking, glad that you did the Adult thing LOL. If I get that Donkey made this year it will be a miracle, but of course you can be its godmother and I will name it Feliz! Yes it will not be such a festive holiday season without the kids being around

Cheryl - Ha, Ha just when you thought things were going to be quiet around your place!! Hope that sweet little deer is going to be fine!

Ok I better get on with my day, lots to do here and behind the scenes stuff to do also. Have a great day everyone Enjoy the Christmas Fun!!

Good morning, lovelies. I'm just Oooooozing (I just made up a new word) to get started on Day 2! I got Day 1 finished last night, but was too sleepy to upload it, unless I did it in my sleep. I'd better go check the gallery. BWAHAHA

You and your dd are about as silly over animals as we are. Feeding the mice cheerios. I love that. Ava was trying a soak apple slices for "Fred" to eat. Of course, she managed to cut herself in the process. She's not very graceful - Chuck calls her "Grace". LOL I couldn't tell you girls about the dire condition of the baby deer, but had to let you all know that he's going to be fine. Chuck looked at his wound again and said that it wasn't that bad and that he'd be fine. I think I told you that he'd limping - he doesn't walk around a lot, but he has a definite limp. We have to figure out what we're going to do with him. Bill, my SIL's brother said we'd just keep him in the barn for a few weeks and see how he gets along. We're not sure it's legal to keep a deer for a pet.

A 3D printer???? How awesome is that?? They really do work, huh? Yes, you should have sat still and let your grandma help you learn to crochet. J/K - I couldn't have done that when I was a kid - much too much energy.

Good news about Olivia - "boring" is good.

Vicky, your knitting is beautiful! I tried to learn to knit once and had the yard wrapped all around my hands. I quickly went back to my crochet hooks.

Oh dear, Kay, snow? It's raining here but not terribly cold. I'm so not ready for snow.

Trudy, you got your calendar. Is the picture of Hunter too dark? If you're like me - I'm super picky and a perfectionist, so I'm kind of hard to please on things like that. Yes, we thought our lives were going to be so quiet out here. Hahaha I've had more activity in the last 4 months than I've had in the last 4 years. True!

Oh, they started laying our wood floor yesterday! I don't remember if I told you yesterday, and I'm too lazy to go back and look. Bad Cheryl. LOL We couldn't get in, but looked through the windows. It's SO exciting! Pardon me if I'm totally repeating myself from yesterday.

I must go and post my Day 1 and can't wait to look through the beautiful gallery! Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs

Cheryl, my education is Animal care, and I was volunteer at Hospital for wild birds for one week (it's not turn well as they eat mostly meat, and new members have to prepare it  , it wasn't for me. Thankfully homeless pets shelters used dry food and canned food), so I know with sure that In my country it's illegal to keep wild animal in captivity, even these that are allowed for hunt, as captivity is count as form of cruelty. You should check your country law and maybe to report that you'll nurse wild animal. I think he will need 3 weeks for recovery, but I can't say from the screen. Keep it in your mind that if you plan to let him free, you shouldn't make him feels comfortable with humans, as this will be dangerous in future. Also if you keep it, in some moment he will hear the nature calls for partner and this brings troubles. This is such a cute story, like from Christmas movie, please keep us update!
I'm sorry, I'm missed this, can you tell me again about your kids (how many they are and on what age), if you're comfortable to share this!
Thank you, for the compliment about my yesterday story! I wish you could see me at my own language! Bulgarian is so much different than english, I struggle a lot to recreate my thoughts. On english one word have many meanings, and many words sounds similar. Also I'm more familiar with UK pronunciation.

Trudy, hope everything to be delivery on time, as here we have lots of delay! Sounds like this year others will surprise you by texting back photos with their calendars after they print them.

Kay, enjoy the snow and the pretty world!

Vicky, this is very cute pattern!

Chris, good wishes for Olivia! Hugs for Cait!
I'm sorry that you have these troubles with the health insurance! Nope, I don't find this calming, it's makes me mad! You know how ''they'' say that the good always win at the end, who are "they" and how They decided that? This is why I prefer EU cinema, "Because life's not a happy ending"! Girls like us struggle, when I watched video about girl that spend $1000 for temporarily hair extensions.

But let's not scared the others girls here! I strongly urge to remind you to not be afraid to love! I assure you that people which have less pets that the finger of the one hand, don't need vet so often as me and Chris! It have families with a cat that never needs to visit vet for other than regular yearly examination! When the good people are afraid to love the unredeemed pets are being euthanized. I'm preached this many times here, and I'll do it many times in future! Because, yes I have lots of financial problems! Because yes I have lots of emotional problems as the price for every love is pain, and yes the strong you love the more you'll pay!
But I have (and this is the only thing that have meaning at the end of the day!!!) this little disaster !
This is my puppy Middleton
on four months when we adopted him this September , in November, and yesterday. Oh, mom is took our pics and she makes me only ugly pics, please ignore that.

Felis, I love your wonderful photos! I just felt a "kinship" with you - when you were feeling that you were doing something wrong. I feel that way myself - so often and just wanted you to know. We "artsy types" must stick together.

Thanks for the information about the wild animals. We weren't sure what the law was for keeping a wild animal, but didn't feel like the baby was ready to be released into the wild again.

You asked about my family. The whole family moved from Florida to Oklahoma about 4 months ago. The transition isn't complete yet, but we're all going to be living on 50 acres - kind of like our own little compound. It's been a life long dream to live in the country and it's finally starting to come true.

I've been keeping a picture journal for several months and if you'd like to see it and catch up a little, here's a link: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...?key=cWZRZ1FVNlMtOGNoTE5FUmppdktWcXFOcms2WFhn

The "kids" I refer to, most of the time, are my grandkids. By December 18th, we'll all be out here except for my oldest GS, Cameron. He's coming sometime in February. The ginormous house in my album belongs to my oldest dd and her husband - it's huge! My husband I decided on a modest 2 bedroom, 2 bath home, but we are going to love it and it's close to everybody else, so they can help us out as we age. Nice, huh??? We're SO blessed!!

At the present time, my husband and I (and our dog) are living in a cute lake cottage that came with the property that the family bought. Our house is up on the hill and you can see it in a few of the pictures. I'm sure this doesn't make a lot of sense, but I hope it helps explain a little about our crazy lives.

Thanks again for the advice on our little baby deer. He's pretty banged up, but he will be okay. The kids rescued him from a fence, after what we suspected was a result of a car hitting him. They brought him to the barn on our property.
