It's hump day!
I am patting myself on the back that I know what day it is. It is a start and a good sign that my brain is not as scrambled/pureed as yesterday.
I am also patting myself on the back for surviving the day at my parents'. Oh boy, were they in *moods.* My dad was in such pain, he walked around with his arms over his abdomen. I cracked a joke and he said how it hurts to laugh/cough/sneeze. The surgery on Friday better help because he was *cranky.* That makes my mom cranky too. My brother brought pizza for lunch. It was great to see him but then he adds to the crankiness. yay. /s
My dad sent me home with a bottle of my favorite wine and I didn't open it on my drive home, mostly because of open container and DUI laws but still!!! :D

I am going to in-person food shopping today so am going to try to get there as early as I can. I don't want to have to deal with people. Not that I ever do but ugh, my patience for people in my town has run thin. The town's FB page is a non-stop s*** show of horrible, mean, nasty people. When I think that I probably smile and chat with some of them in town, ick.
OTOH, I feel like I am turning into a mean, nasty, cranky person too. I try not to be.

Cait is very excited, she submitted another final and now is down to one more assignment and a final and she is done for the semester. She isn't worried about that last final because she has a 99 avg in that class already. *knocks wood* As of right now, it's likely that she is going to have another straight A/A- semester. Not bad!!! :D

Sending everyone hugs and calm vibes with the hopes they will return to me :D

@tanteva I don't know any movies by Ingmar Bergman, I know the name but that is it. All very depressing?
Hope you are feeling cheerier today

Hey Buddy! I bet that you have a little more structure at the NorthPole than I do here. At the very least, you have *helpers.* LOL!!

@LSlycord Your day with Sydney made my heart happy. I love it!! You must treasure those times with her, I know I do with Caitlyn. Even better when they are the ones who make the suggestion <3
The company and food and memories-- delicious!

Bwuahahahah!!! Eva-- better watch out, you are going to be on the naughty list if you don't share your candy -- with a Christmas Elf, no less!

@BrightEyes those photos are beautiful, what a pretty color sky!
It must be that time of year for the mail carriers. Our mail has been coming g very late- 6 pm or so the last few days.
You look absolutely *gorgeous!!!* It must have felt great dressing up. pampering yourself.
UGH about the printer! Good luck getting a new one

@Cherylndesigns how is the arm today? I think that was the worst part of the booster for me too. I had some chills/body aches but nothing horrible. So relieved that you were able to get them before Omicron really takes hold here. Yay for stretch pants! LOL
Did you leave out some candy for Buddy?

Kay- I hope your brain didn't end up in the blender with mine by the end of the day, Sounds like it felt that way though. Fab news about the printer!

@mywisecrafts Thank you! The picture of me was taken at the wine tasting party I went to in August. I was probably more than a little loopy at that point LOL
sorry that I can't help with your shopping support group. When I was in the craft store the other day, I wanted to buy so many things for myself. However, if you just want to sit, drink wine, and talk about the thing we *want* to craft-- I am in!

gotta get going if I want to be at the supermarket early xoxoxo

Good morning lOvely ladies! Beautiful, sunny morning here. Highs in the 70's through the remainder of the year. Yesterday was a slow day here. I didn't work on my pantry and I didn't leave the house except for the neighborhood walk. LOL I did find a couple of gifts online and have a couple more to get today.

Sydney isn't working today so I think that I might try to get her to bake with me today. I have ceramic tile for kitchen flooring and it kills my feet and legs. I have one of those pads and it really helps but it doesn't allow me to move around the kitchen as much. So, I went out to Amazon and ordered a 70 inch one. That should allow me some additional flexibility. It says it will be here by 9 tonight. Hope it is earlier than that.

I might even get a couple more layouts done. My scrapping is slow but getting faster with practice. Let me get some more coffee and then I'll be back for personals.

Coffee mug is full. And I'm ready for personals.

@faerywings you are right...those days are true treasures when you get to just spend the time with your kids, especially as they get older. Syd and I have spent lots of time together over the years traveling for soccer and basketball but we haven't had a lot of time to just kick back and relax. So yesterday was perfect. She did tell me that I talk to people too much. She is a total introvert...which is where I started when I was her age. But now, I don't see people that much so I get pretty excited when I have a chance to talk to someone.

@BrightEyes it sounds like your event was so much fun. And I loved how "dolled up" you were. Purple and red are definitely your colors! The pink sunrise was also gorgeous! I love it when the sky is painted like that. Our lanai is on the west side of the house so we get some nice sunsets through the trees but I miss sunrises! LOL about the checkbook. I used to ALWAYS have my checkbook with me. Now...it doesn't get that much use and I stopped carrying my purse during the pandemic so I really have to pay attention now if I'm going to need a check.

@Cherylndesigns sounds like the booster was relatively uneventful which is good! I too had a sore arm but that was my only side effect. Brian had a headache and a bit of fever after 24 hours but it only lasted a couple of hours. A nap seemed to take care of it. Which was good because the J&J made him really sick!

Hope everyone has a good day!

I'm not scared of getting on the naugthy list ... no one buys me Christmas gifts anyway. I buy my own yarn. LOL

Ingmar Bergman ... Imagine the most depressing thing you can come up with, add some family drama & trauma ... and then double that. That's Ingmar Bergman's comedies. LOL

Finished my December Letters, and they will go in the mail tomorrow - THREE DAYS before last day to get them in the mail. I'm so good!!!

Also, today I've fixed a gift for my Secret Santa Pal at work. Living in the boondocks really makes it hard. Ended up with a really boring gift (tea mug + goodies), but it's hard to shop when there are no proper shops in town.

Working Thursday & Friday + getting the 3rd vaccince dose on Saturday so I guess I won't be around much for the rest of the week.

Good morning ladies. Time is flying by now. So much to do. I think I say that every year LOL. Other than desk work and laundry, I am going to menu plan and create my grocery list for Xmas meals. The stores have been picked over for lots of things so I don't trust that I can leave it until the wkend or early next week. I always do a Xmas Eve buffet, Xmas morning breakfast and dinner so want to make sure I'm stocked up. I need to start wrapping and figure out what I still need to get.

I need to scrap a page about Remi and the Gains liquid laundry detergent bottle. I had left it on top of the dryer to remind me to toss it outside in the recycling. She was frantically barking and growling this morning, looking thru the laundry room door. I thought she saw something thru the window but nope, it was the bottle sitting on top of the dryer LOL. I had to put it on the floor and then sit a few feet away, while calling her and snuggling. She finally crawled on her belly and touched it, then poked it a few times, softly growling and then backed away. It was so funny to watch. She's still not making direct eye contact, only glancing sideways at it quickly and them moving away.

@faerywings Sorry to hear your dad is so grumpy from the pain, poor guy. Sure hope the surgery goes well and he heals quickly so he can get back to normal. Yay for C, she is such a smarty pants! Good for her.

@LSlycord Have fun baking today. I'm baking with Jen and Bailey on Saturday. We'll keep it simple b/c we don't want to overwhelm B but rice krispie squares and some chocolate cookies are on the list.

@tanteva Good luck with the 3rd vaccine. I haven't gotten the notice yet but hubs got his done last month. Luckily he had no reaction at all.

I'm getting more coffee and getting to work. Have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon.

I'm moving slowly today - don't feel very well - probably this blankety blank booster. I'm just out of sorts, which isn't like me at all. I'm shaky and very irritable - I did manage to get my plant in the dirt, Linda @LSlycord I mentioned that I never finished what I started. LOL I was struggling with that when the girls came in. I ended up letting Ava help me with it - I held it while she shoveled dirt in the jar. It looks cute - I put a layer of sea shells in the bottom for drainage and it reminds me of the beach when I look at it. I got a red and white checked bow around the top, too. My kitchen accents are red, so it will look cute all year. I hop the roots like the new container. I planted it in a Ball jar. I have another plant in a little jar trying to get roots on it. The plant I got in the dirt is mint and the other one is cilantro.

Chris @faerywings cudos to you for surviving your parents. I'm a bit cranky today so I'm sure your dad was hard to take. I really hope he's better after his surgery! Good for you for not diving into that wine on the way home. LOL

Good luck going to the store. We have to go too. I also have a pickup order at Walmart sometime in the next few days. It's pretty cool, you pull into a spot and text a number and somebody brings it right to your car. I found some more of the pants I wanted, online, but they're only delivering them by mail. I'm supposed to get them by the 21st. I found the cutest Buffalo Plaid tights and wanted another pair. They were actually a better deal than in the store - I got the plaid ones, black ones and dark gray ones for the same price - 3 in a package - can't beat that. I didn't have to pay for shipping because they had to split my order - part pickup and part shipped to.

The girls left Lila here and I have her and Daisy shut out of my room so I can get some stuff done. I'm in no mood for 2 dogs under my feet today. LOL They follow me every step I take. Usually it doesn't bother me. I went to make my bed earlier and the cat was under my blankets. Animals are everywhere. BWAHAHA

Happy Hump Day all.

Didn't have time to pop in here this morning... had to take care of Day 12 Challenge. OH MY WORD!!! So many wonderful Layouts were already posted.... I took time to respond to the ones that were there before I had to leave before 9AM.

Today was a much better day even though the wind was blowing like mad .... 50 - 60 MPH! and it was so cold! But I did get all the bills paid and dropped off at the Post Office and Credit Union. I dropped off the library books and stopped to look at the FREE books cart. There was a War and Remembrance by Herman Wolk... and as I couldn't find my copy, I picked it up. Then down to the base and got the Rx refill, over to the gas station and filled up (32 cents per gallon cheaper than off base!) and over to the commissary and it wasn't crowded at all. Santa was there taking photos with all the workers dressed in Christmas sweaters or costumes. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. The only not so good was traffic was terrible both going and coming and nearly got side-swiped twice! Was glad to get home and off the roads. And my poor foot that had the cracked bone 2 years ago was aching like mad by the time I got home... Know it is the change in barometric pressure from the cold front. Will be staying off of it as much as possible for the next day or so. Just finished putting the groceries away and I am whipped.

Talked to DD#1 and she said that great-granddaugher #1 is in quarantine for the next 10 days as she was exposed by a couple of classmates who have covid. Also heard from DD#3 via text that she is still pretty sick with RSV virus and the rest of her family still has it. They have been to the doctor and are on meds.

Cheryl, so sorry you are feeling so tired and cranky... hope you are feeling better soon. Glad that Ava came by and helped you plant the jar.

Well, I am off to catch up on all the LOs posted in Day 12. Guess that theme really stuck everyone's creative side. CYL

Chris, relieved that the breakfast with Mom and Dad is over. I am sure your Dad is in pain... glad his surgery is going to be soon. Hope he heals quickly and that will help you Mom be not so cranky, too.

Rae, I was ROFLOL over Remy and the detergent jug!!! What a hoot that must have been to see.
