Is it close enough to Christmas for me to freakout? Anyone care to join me?? The more the merrier. :loco:
I did one smart thing yesterday- I did my food shopping online. The less-smart thing was that I wrapped a bunch of gifts, then baked another batch of cookies, then cooked dinner. So what I tried to do-- stay off of my foot was only balanced out my the time I was on my foot.

I ordered a few more things online - thank goodness for Amazon Prime. Since I don't need these things right away, I am able to use the Prime Day option where they ship everything all at once.
I feel like I am getting there-- it is just my immediate family and the F-W's baskets that are going to need work.

I am cleaning for my friend today. I already cleared it with her that I am only doing the downstairs- no way am I carrying up mops and supplies up the stairs by myself. Last thing I want to do is wipe out with no one home to help me. "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up." :faint2:
Depending on who is home, someone has to pick up the groceries. Maybe I can drag Cait with me. Her class was rescheduled for Saturday since we got snow and her professor lives farther in the boonies than we do.

Man, I am wiped out-- I woke up at 4 am and couldn't get back asleep. Between yesterday waking up at 3.30 and today at 4, it is going to be another long day.
I started a LO for the Santa Challenge so I am hoping that I can finish that one this afternoon.

HAGD!!!

Kay- lucky that you have a short boot, this thing is such a pain to lug around. My dogs, esp Ray get underfoot, especially when I am cooking dinner. As you know, it is hard to change direction or stop short. I cannot tell you how many times I stepped on Ray. However, did it make her leave the kitchen? Nope!
Any tips on how to get used to this thing?
We ended up having to buy wi-fi "boosters" so we could get better connections. There were dead spots all over the house which made it really hard when the kids were trying to do homework or write papers on their laptops. We have one downstairs and one upstairs and it made a big difference.
I hope that the meds/boot gets your ankle back in shape soon.

Rae- I hope that you were able to get all of your work down so you get in some scrap time and time to spend with your hubs.
I would love to share my cookie recipes with you but they all boil down to four basic ingredients- sugar, flour, butter, and nuts- in that order ;) so not good for your diet. Your tree is gorgeous, how did you get the ribbons up so perfectly? :jaw:
Trudy- Christmas joy in little ones-- that is the true magic of the season. Hunter and Mason must make you smile so much. You are doing great getting everything done that you need too.

Jean- You want my snow?? It was finally melting from last week- over the septic tank at least - and now we have more. Bleck! Bet your poinsettia is cheery and bright.
I know you weren't expecting the boot or we would have known.
Are you saying that I would have complained about that had I known? :blah:
Of course I would have. hehe!!
Things happen in threes- so Kay, then me-- the rest of you be careful with your feet! :p
Having that diary is so cool, the threads are there, aren't they? I love history and see things and touching things from the past spark such connections. You are very lucky to experience that.

Better get rolling. xoxo!

good morning - Scary news in the town next to where my youngest son works - deadly shoot out. One police officer slain. My son said their office was told about it and to avoid the area. So sad! Besides that yesterday was filled with errands. I got up to early to do PT. My therapist said to stop using the cane. I told her I use it when I in am in crowds. She laughed. Then went to get probiotics for Luther which he does not like, of course. Then to bank to deposit checks. Then I had to deal with insurance company from the hit and run accident my son was involved in. He was just side swiped and the car is drivable but the estimate to fix is a lot. I guess that is why I pay for insurance each year. But it takes up a lot of time. But on the good side my son did the grocery shopping. He really does not mind. The only down side is as he goes through the isles he often picks up extra stuff. Too funny! Watched my hockey team lose again. This time they forgot how to play in the first two periods and they in the 3 period they tried for the come back but too little too late. The Dallas Stars fired their coach exactly one week after my Devils fired theirs however for the Stars there was just the announcement that the coach did some thing so bad he had to be fired even though the team was doing well. But their team is better so they won. I got more pages done on my Dec. project. I am finding it a lot of fun. Woke to about 2 inches of slushy snow. pretty and the road are not slippery so that is good. Going out to dinner with my girlfriend. I love not cooking.

Chris so sorry about the boot. I would not have foreseen that as a possibility! But better to know and have it fixed even if it is a pain. Amazing how busy you are anyway! I bet your house smells so good with all the baking you have done. How much snow did you get we just got enough to look pretty. Take care cleaning! And you should not be carrying things upstairs. Finally saw your crafts and they are wonderful. Really love the boot!

Kay amazing you and Chris are twins. Hope that the foot feels better soon! We have an old house where the walls all have metal in them (forget the proper term) and they block out the wifi so like Chris we too had to get boosters so we could pick up wifi in all the rooms. That was awesome you DH put in the wire for you!

Trudy congrats on calendar. Sorry your brother not doing so well. Bet the grands are so excited.

Rae your tree is gorgeous! You are amazing for being so busy you get so much accomplished!

Jean thanks for the comments and yes I do or did stalk hawks. But as new neighbors have moved in they have cut down so many trees that there is just not the same numbers and of course since I don't put out feed no birds for them to feast upon. One of the great things though happening in my favorite birding spot (at least to me) is the return of bald eagles. There have been bald eagles on the Delaware River but now they have come back. The last time we were there seven were seen and some were immature! Makes me happy!

Have a great day all!

Yes, that is my short foot boot. The foot is propped up on one of the kitchen chairs. Now that I have my computer back I could resize the photo. Oh, forgot I had not come back in here to tell you the story of the computers. Turns out my computer internal hard drive is larger than the space on hubby's computer... so swapping them out wouldn't work. I need to winnow down what I have on my computer to under 1T of programs, files, etc. Then Son-in-law can move them over to DH's computer.

DD#1 was the one who brought them home to me... along with my Christmas present ... a new 24" monitor! We got it set up back in my craft room. She did most of the work as the tower is on a shelf down near the floor. She also had picked up a garbage disposal so it is here when SiL can get over to put it in this coming weekend.

We had a wifi booster but it still didn't help much in my craft room {too many walls between it and the modem} - that is when DH put the wire to my craft room in. Since it is only me here - I can get by without a booster. When the sons were here with their laptops, they usually sat in the kitchen to use them.

This is going to be a slow healing process... the foot let's me know if I have been on it or had it hanging down too long as it starts aching. I will have to go to the store by the end of the week...running out of too many things I need by then. So will try to stay off of it and keep it elevated as much as possible until then.

Chris, there is no easy way to get around with the boot - especially since yours is the large one. I just clumped around with it and warned others to keep out of my way. I hear you about trying to stay off your feet - so hard when you have so much to do. You are smart to not attempt stairs carrying cleaning supplies with no one there but you. Glad my house is a single story.

Nancy, so sorry about the shooting near your where you son works. There was a shooting in my home town yesterday, too. So scary and seems to be happening more often now. I think you are wise to use the cane when in a crowd.. it can help you ward off people. Yikes about your son's car being side-swiped. Yes, that is why we pay insurance. Good luck on getting it taken care of.

Trudy, congrats on getting the calendar pages done. Yes, it is so hard to see a loved one not doing well but glad you did get a visit with him.

Rae, love your tree! So neat how you placed the ribbon. That is a lot of work and it looks so beautiful.

Hope you all have a safe and lovely day.

Morning ladies... It is another very foggy and damp day here! It's ok because I will be inside for the day and getting a few more things completed. I think the only time I need to go out is to mail DS's parcel. Oh and today is our Son's birthday, so Happy Birthday to him!! We are so very proud of him and all that he has accomplished in his 41 years! He is an amazing Daddy, caring husband and very thoughtful son! Can you tell that I love him?? LOL. So I need to get a couple of Christmas cards made this morning and then I will start to do some scrapping finally!! Tomorrow I will get a few things wrapped and get a parcel out to Heather and the boys and that will be it for gifts to send! Hooray! Now I need to think of a little something for DH, he is impossible to buy for as he always says he doesn't need anything!! :mmph: We are not getting each other much as we are still hoping to somewhere warm for a while in January.

Chris - good plan to not do the upstairs of your friends house today! I would hate to hear of you falling down those stairs!! I think that I joined you in the panic room a few days ago LOL. Now I am starting to feel a bit more at ease and only really concerned now over what the menu will be for Christmas dinner and breakfast the next day. Everyone is spending the night, so I will have to get all the beds ready also. Hope you can get Cait to come along with you and give you a hand, that would be great! Ugh on the early mornings, it really makes for a long day! Please take care of your poor foot today and try to give it some rest!

Nancy - Oh my gosh what horribly scary news to get, those poor people and that poor police officer, how tragic!! We had some bad news last night also, a plane crash on a small Island near us, no survivors, so very sad!! We heard about the firing of the Stars Coach, wonder what that was all about?? Not too happy with the Bruins these past few games, but I guess you can't win them all. Had to laugh about your son adding to your grocery shopping, my DH does that whenever he comes grocery shopping with me. Hope Luther is doing better and that you are having fun with your scrapping! Lucky you no cooking tonight, sounds good to me!

Kay - Sorry that your foot will take so long to start feeling better!! But happy that you are able to do your scrapping again! How nice to get the new Monitor for an early Christmas gift! Your short boot for your foot looks much more comfortable than Chris's boot, but hopefully you will both be glad when you don't need them anymore! Hopefully no one else does either!!

Well I better get busy with my day and hopefully I will have a page to post to the gallery today! The 12 days are almost over and I have been terribly absent here! :sorry: Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Got lots of work done, got a challenge page done and hung out with D and Taz, watching some shows in the evening. Jen came over for a quick visit.

Today is again lots of work (expected so no surprise) and am trying to reload my fonts into nexusfont. When I got Windows10 installed it wiped the fonts out of the software so had to figure out how to reload and later will see if they are showing up in PS.

Chris - be careful cleaning and don't overdo it with your foot. Thanks for admiring my tree, it is ribbon sections tucked into the tree. Hope you get a better sleep tonight.

Nancy - that is so sad abuot the shoot out. My D is the same, if he goes for a few groceries he will come back with all kinds of (unhealthy) stuff that wasn't on the list :)

Kay - I can't believe you and Chris both have to wear a boot. Your's is smaller and I assume more comfortable but I'm sure, a tall or short boot is a PITA to get around on. Computer stuff never goes smoothly does it? I have things to do with my work computer and my computer upstairs and I am dreading it b/c there always seem to unexpected problems with these things.

Trudy - happy b-day to your son. D and I are not getting each other much either, no need to. Going somewhere warm in January, lucky you!

Hope everyone is having a great day, I'm getting to work now.

Hello girls!
Yesterday I didn't had access to Oscraps. My guard program block the site, and I run all the diagnostics and things I know, but nothing helped. As it's locked only this site, my sister told me that maybe my activity too often and only in one site is confused the program. Is that possible at all? However I had to step back and give to my computer time to calm down :) . All is normal today so, yey!
As I'm here too often till I work, I'm seriously backward with my work hours, it's run slowly and don't give me possibility to live fully and truly. It's so sad that we spend so much time working and it's so less paid, that's why women should be only housewife! Things like first decoration with your child, their first snow and the first christmas never repeat. But I didn't had time for them. Good that they aren't human child and this will not leave deep and irreparable scratches in their minds!
Mostly work and O 12 days things, are my days now. Short celebration with my friend today. And yesterday I had go to take one of the gifts, as it wasn't delivered to the address. I think all Christmas orders are came now, which is good, but still have few gifts that have to bought from local stores.

Chris, sorry to hear about the boot! Please trust me, I can swear that world will not end if you delegate tasks and coordinate your family instead to try do everything by yourself! I read how you continued to overload yourself and this hurts me. I bet Cait is also mad that you are so stubborn and independent! Reduce your plans and let others to take care!!!

Jean, OMG, this is amazing! How you feels reading this diary? I always feel this strange energy that the old war subjects are charged with, when I'm in the museum. It's so strange! I'm a huge fan of "Testament of Youth" and even it's about other war all wars are similar. It's so interesting and eye opening to be in touch with diary like this!
I love your poinsettia, it's a pretty little creature that makes this time of the year really festive. All my tries to take care for one of these flowers fails :( .

Nancy, so sorry for the another tragedy, we also heard about that at the news!
How sweet from your son side to add even some extra snack out of the list!

Kay, oh, congrats for the new monitor, get lot of fun on it! Hope all with the computers to be done soon! Be good, please, and keep your foot from overload! Umm, where are your festive christmas socks?! You needs pair of that, I think !

Trudy, happy birthday to your son! And wish him a very happy and fun year! You are raised great son! It was so noble from their side to keep Storm, and take it with them, even with all troubles around moving pet from one town in another! This shows much about the person's character!!!

Rae, the tree is absolutely wonderful, such a pretty ornaments! Good luck with the fonts reload!
