HelloooooO O-zies!
How are all of you doing today? It looks like some of the heat and humidity broke overnight. I forgot to put my socks on when I woke up and now my toes are cold.

(yup, I just put my socks on, toes are much happier)

*whispers*
ACDSee is still working
Day Three. If I make it past today it is possible that it will keep working. Don't ask me what I did to "fix" it, I kitchen-sinked it. ;) Literally tried every last thing I could think of to get it to work and then tried many of them again (and again). The good news is that I was able to scrap yesterday and got a LO ready for a Sept (August 32 for Linda) challenge.
I spent hours and hours (slight exaggeration, it was over an hour but not more than 2) looking at recipes for dinner ideas. Added a buffalo chicken pasta and a broccoli mac and cheese to the list to try. Scott loved the BBQ Chicken Grilled cheese so I want to make that again soon.
To get away from my desk, I cut back all of the lilies and irises by my driveway. I deadheaded the black-eyed Susie's and they might get a second bloom.
Sadly, it never rained.

I still have to do Cheery O work today which I will do after I get back from the food pick-up. Weeeeeee. The excitement knows no bounds.
;)

Have a wonderful day!

@LSlycord Have you started the final countdown to Friday? How about your paper chain, did you make it yet? I bet you will have a great time back home.
So happy that Syd was able to get to her class yesterday with her $2 goggles.

@vickyday I was thrown from a bike once and all I can say is I was sooooo glad I had on a leather jacket. I have a small scar on my elbow where the skin rubbed against the jacket when I landed but other than that, I was incredibly lucky. We joke about how that accident is what made Scott so darn stubborn, I was pg with him but didn't know it yet. I freaked out a couple of weeks later when I thought of the "what ifs." But he made it through 1 motorcycle and three car accidents in utero, no wonder he didn't want to come out bwuhahahaha!!!!!!!!
PS: None of those accidents was my fault, I was hit twice and the other one, I slid off the road and into a tree trying to get to work in a snowstorm. Guess that was technically my fault.
It is really smart that you have all of your burial preferences and legalities taken care of now. I know it is a weird topic too but I recently read an article about two more "green burial" options that I am interested in. I would like to have that kind of stuff in writing even if not through a lawyer, just so the fam knows.
I bet you will keep scrapping through September, you are on a roll!! yay!

@Cherylndesigns Hahahaha!! Chuck and my dad would get along great. My dad was recently told that his one ear would benefit from a hearing aid. I asked him last week what he decided about it. Aside from the cost, he basically said why would he *want* to hear better? o_O
Look at the cute jars, love the lids and labels. Oh, I miiiiiiss my lavender plant. I still can't believe it died. You grow chamomile too? I have never tried that, I wonder how it would do in my Zone?

@taxed4ever I am not surprised that you slept like a log after a day of kayaking. Is that hard to do? You would think that I would have tried that seeing as I live next to a lake. How neat to see the starfish and seals. Well, if you didn't find a wine glass, that only means that you need to go back on a not-Monday *G*
I have such an old version of PS that Bridge was fairly useless the times I tried to use it. I hope that you are able to use PS/Bridge for a long time coming but I know at some point mine is not going to be compatible either and then what??
The worst part of ACDSee is b/c I have been using it for so long, I have everything exactly how I like it and now know I have more than 90,000 files tagged LOL

Cheryl-- oh no way!! The lids are for mason jars and you go them on amazon?? Do you have a link handy, pretty please??#kiss

@BrightEyes wow! I can't think of the last time I slept that late. It def. sounds like your body is trying to catch up on rest and building back your strength. Stay cool this week
That is soooo amazing that you got to see your g-mothers BC!! You and your sister must be so excited b all of this. So cool!!!
(Not so cool to have other caskets in your plot, eep)

@pachimac That is a bummer that you can't get insurance to cover your diamond :(
You will be so happy with a lab-grown diamond! Caitlyn picked that for her engagement ring for ethical reasons but it is so darn pretty. Looking at it, you would not know it wasn't "real" and the cost is a big difference.
Good luck getting it all finished up before your renewal ♥

Nope, no rain, Vicky :( ... next rain in the forecast is Monday.

No rain until NEXT Monday?? :( Too bad! But, what do they know, anyway, lol! If your weather forecasts are like ours, they are pretty iffy, at best!
Mark and I pray together before each bike ride for protection on the road! I ride and take pictures. I don't drive! He just got the bike inspected and found that we only put about 1,000 miles on the bike in the last year! We've done that much in one trip before! My friend, Ilene's daughter and her husband had a bike wreck earlier in the year. Hit some gravel and he lost control of the bike. He is still looking to have ankle surgery and she has metal in her left arm; almost lost her pinky and ring finger and is probably going to have to have surgery on them after all is said and done. Things unexpected can happen so quickly in life and change everything! She used to be an OR nurse. She won't be able to do that any more. And she has vowed never to get on another bike! I'm glad your's only caused your son to want to stay hidden as long as possible, LOL!

Good Morning to you!
Nothing new here today. Humidity is better after the rain.....at least, for now! Sun is shining brightly, so we shall see what the rest of the day holds!

My friend, Ilene, is in WV for about 3 weeks visiting family and friends. She is a gadabout and doesn't sit still unless we are playing games, LOL! I may be going to our friend, Carolyn's house later today, unless she ends up going to her daughter's. We will have to play without Ilene for a couple of weeks!

I cut the 9 lb. cantaloupe the night before last and put it in the fridge to cool. I ate some last night! It had the best flavor and sweetness of all of the cantaloupe we have harvested so far! That will be my breakfast today! YUM!

@BrightEyes I got my scanning started last night! All it took was talking about it and getting motivated to do it after DH goes to bed, LOL! I'm going to work on it some more today after I finish here and finish going through my email. I'm already looking forward to scrapping some of the pictures! So I'm sure everyone will be seeing some through September *winking to @faerywings *

OK, I got nothing else! Have a great day! Off to do some scanning!

Morning everyone!! OMG is it possible that it is the last day of August already?? NO, NO, NO!! #angry2 September is not allowed!! I guess I can only hope that this next month will be beautiful and warm, to make up for the very late summer that we had this year! We are having an appraisal done on our house today as we have applied to the Bank for a Total Equity Loan so that we can do a bunch of reno's on the house. It will be interesting to find out what our house is actually worth these days! Other than that not too much else going on here today. I should be hiking, but its too hot and the hike is very, very far away! I would not get home until about 8pm tonight and today is the only day the appraiser could come. My core muscles are still kind of sore today, I can't believe what a great core workout kayaking is!! I should really try to get out more often! I started my brother's birthday card and decided to make him an infinity/never ending card. I will post pics when it is done. They are lots of fun to make and a great way to use up some of my large stash of patterned papers! I still have a few things to do for month end here and then hope to get a layout done for September! I really need to pull up my socks and get more commenting done here in the next month!!

@faerywings - Ha, Ha, yup the excitement never ends for me either LOL! Cutting back the lilies is something I really need to get done too! Love them when they are in bloom, but they sure don't seem to last too long do they? Glad to hear that the humidity and the high heat has broken for your area! Nice that your toes are happy with some socks on LOL. Day 3 of ACDSee working, hooray!! I will keep my fingers crossed that your troubles are finally over with that program! That is something that I really need to do is to tag my stash better! (I really don't want to though, I am too lazy!!).

@vickyday - Holy Cow a 9lb cantaloupe??? Really?? Glad that it tastes so good!! Hope your scanning goes well for you today, nice that the humidity is not so bad for you now!

Well I best get showered and dressed before this fellow comes to appraise the house. I hope that you all have a good last day of August!!

Hello, Everyone.

Wow! It seems like just yesterday I was in this thread saying how fast July went. Honestly, August went by twice as fast! o_O

@faerywings I’m doing better with the pulled side, haven’t checked on my son yet today, but he was feeling better yesterday. Not up to lifting yet, but better. Per your question on Monday; We do have local organizations that will pick up donations, but they will not come up the three flights of stairs to my apartment to get the boxes. Once I get them down the stairs, I’m fine. I’ve taken a few down daily when my side allowed and hauled off my first load yesterday. When I got to the drop-off, they had moved the cart for donations way up by the building, rather than in the parking lot where it normally is, due to expected rain. So, I had to lug the boxes up a ramp and some stairs. One of the ladies there was really nice and met me at the top of the ramp for a few of the boxes. I was ready to just drop it all in the parking lot and high tail it out of there!! The rest of the bigger stuff I have is way too big and heavy for me, so will have to wait for my son to get well. But, at least I have the room now to sort books, papers, art supplies, that sort of thing.

Glad to hear your ACDSee is working again! Yay!

@vickyday How horrible about the bike accident your friends had. Yikes! I’d never get on another bike again either after that. You and Mark be super careful.

Hearing about your delicious cantaloupe makes my mouth water! Enjoy your scanning. I’m shredding old junk mail and papers today.

@taxed4ever My best friend, who passed in 2020, was an avid kayaker. She started while living in OR, and I never got a chance to go with her before she became ill and had to give it up. I loved hearing about her kayak adventures. I'll look on FB for your kayak photos.

I finished my first September layout a few minutes ago. With vertigo I didn’t get many done last month, so hope to get a lot more created this month.

@LSlycord I'm glad Sydney got her goggles in time. Speaking of FaceTime. I don’t do FT, as I prefer just to text or phone. Yesterday I was on the phone with a friend. Because the phone makes my vertigo worse, I can’t put it to my ear so I either hold it out in front of me or lay it next to me, on speaker. Just as we were about to hang up, suddenly I (me) popped up on my phone screen. I was sitting there looking at myself, trying to figure out what in the world was going on. Well, my older son had texted my younger son for my phone number, for his new phone. The younger son went to copy my number to send to him and somehow mistakenly sent me a FT invite! That was such a weird feeling when I sat there looking at myself!! LOL I told him he gave me a fright as I had no idea what was going on with my crazy phone!!

@bcgal00 I’m so very sorry to hear you have been soooo sick. I’m glad the killer headache is gone and the fever. I’ll be praying about your lungs and breathing. Take it easy as much as possible.

Well, I was going to try and get this posted before lunch, but got long winded. So, I’ll go now and fix something to eat. Toodles!!

Good morning all.

We worked outside yesterday - there were some dark spots on the porch and we finally got them out. We had to use concrete cleaner to get them out. It looks so pretty this morning Chuck wants to give it one more spraying and we got this awesome, stiff broom to scrub it with. Out front door mat is supposed to come today so I wanted the porch cleaned before we put that down. I've got fall fever so I might go get a new fall wreath. I probably have one, but it's in a big box up at Adrienne's. I almost got one at Walmart the other day, but didn't because Adrienne was ready to leave about the time I started looking. We're going to try to go back over there this afternoon and I hope it's still there.

Chris @faerywings I knew you'd love my cute jars and those labels! I buy my Camomile in bulk on Amazon. I tried to find the plants this spring and decided to just buy the buds. They have everything - herb wise - and they come in very large quantities. I actually bought all of them on Amazon. I can't grow enough (at this point) to provide my needs for the tea. I can grow the "add ons" like Lavender (although mine died too) and I grow mint. The bags from Amazon are huge and last a long time. Here's the link for those plastic lids: https://www.amazon.com/Aozita-Pack-...ic+lids+for+mason+jars&qid=1661962063&sr=8-10 They fit any brand of jars - Ball, Mason, whatever else. Most of what I've had good luck growing are savory herbs - they're going to be great for soups and casseroles and Adrienne loves herbs, too. I gave her a few different bags full the other day.

Trudy @taxed4ever good luck with the loan. I know you must be anxious to see what your house is worth now. How exciting to be able to do some work and get some of the things done that you've been wanting to do. Hope your heat lets up soon.

Hugs to all - I need to go see what I need to do for month end, too. It's always a busy time.

I've loved these jars for years and had a lot of them - I keep all sorts of things in them. I used them for a lot of my supplies when I had a big scrap room with lots of storage and I was doing a lot of mixed media and making cards, etc. I always disliked fumbling with all the lids and rings, so I was thrilled to find these plastic colorful lids! They make me happy. Hahaha I love opening a cupboard door and seeing them.

Quick touch base at the end of the day on the end of August. Didn’t go quite as I had planned. Yesterday, I called the cardiologists’s office to schedule my year follow up appointment. Strangely enough they had my orders but since I go on Medicare 10/1, they wanted to get me in before that. The scheduling person worked really hard to arrange all of my tests before the one appointment that was open prior to my September vacation.

Anyway, she did it but that meant that I needed to be at Mayo Clinic at 7:00 for an EKG, followed by bloodwork, then ending with an echocardiogram. Through the entire day off. I have another appointment in the morning with the Nurse Practitioner at 7:45 but the results of the tests went to the portal and I took a look. My aortic valve stenosis has gotten a little worse in the last year and it is now at the severe level. So…I’m kind of preparing for them to say it is time for open heart surgery to replace the bad valve. I guess we will all need to hold on until tomorrow to find out more.

I did have an interview. Really liked the guy. Guess we will see about that too.

@faerywings i am counting down to Friday. Good grief…that was a bunch of accidents that baby Scott was in. And, if you must, in the morning when you open the Daily O’s, I will understand the need for September.

@vickyday almost time to start a new month of challenges. I do hope you will find a bit of time to stop in and see us here.

@Cherylndesigns I need to check out the jar lids.

@Betty Jo I had to laugh at you staring at yourself for Facetime. Those kids mess us up all the time.

@taxed4ever oh I can’t wait to hear about your house projects. Because you do a lot without even doing a home improvement loan.

@BrightEyes, hoping that you are getting rested and warmed up.

Love to all of you…talk to you tomorrow.

Hey y'all. I'm sorry, I am not very good at these things- keeping up regularly that is. But I've got some hope for y'all!!!#kiss
@LSlycord Hope you get a good report. Attachment-1.png
@faerywings Hope your program continues to cooperate! I've never used it, but so many people swear by it.
@Cherylndesigns YOU are a busy bunny!!!
iu
I admire your plant ventures. Hope u love your porch now!! I'm resisting Fall for now, but I did tinker with the idea of a fall spread for our front porch a few days ago.
@BrightEyes Hope you are ok! Or did someone else have a bike accident?? Sorry, like I said, I'm not great at consistency in this. And hot air balloons??? OHhhhhhh!!! I've always wanted to take a ride. Doesn't look likely, when we have the $$ we don't have them around and vice versa. lol.

We have a very erratic schedule. Son and DIL are trying to make ends meet after a major career move. So we babysit to help them, which means we never quite know what our week will be like. Last Sat. we got to go to a Native American festival. It was great. Hubster got to participate in the Warrior dance- to honor veterans. Not in full regalia, mind you, but its the first time he's ever had the chance to join in. I was so excited! Pages forthcoming!! :D We had such a great time. DS even became more interested. He's had a hard time with all the changes in his childhood- living in 3 countries, 2 languages, 3 cultures, and then to be told, oh, by the way, we found your long lost paternal family and half of them are Cherokee. LOL So it was great to see him excited about his heritage. :D
Currently hubs and I are in a cabin- its beautiful! We took a few days to get away and be in the beautiful outdoors. Tonight we watched the sunset over the lake. (more pages forthcoming! ha.)
HOPE each of you are well, @bcgal00 take care- lots and lots and looooooootttsss of rest! Let me know if you'd like some info re: what helped us. We both had both strains of it. :p Especially the nausea and the exhaustion. PM ME! HUGS!!!(its ok, they are virtual ones!!) :D-

Just wanted to pop in really quickly on my lunch break to say hi. I am not used to work this much, I'm sooooo tired. And when I'm tired, I get stressed & so cranky & easily upset. Lost my temper 2 million times already. Good thing I do keep it inside most of the time. Can't lose my temper in public! But, keeping everything inside is making me tired too. Gee, I need chocolate, but I'm on a diet. LOL Life sucks!

Haven't been keeping up, but I hope everyone is ok, and can eat all the chocolate they like!
