Iy yi yiiiiiiiiiiii! One week left in August and I am mentally *all* over the place. (HA! My Spell Check wants me to change "mentally" to "mental." #crazy That fits, for sure but not the way I am trying to use the word )

So much for using the summer to get my act together. One more big, fat fail.

It was a beautiful day yesterday and I loved spending it with my mom. I am shocked at how much better her mood is now that she is feeling better. It's such a turnaround. Although she did say that she is (finally) learning to ignore my dad when he is cranky. Only took her 58 years of marriage and 54 years of me telling her that. *wink* We went to TJ MAXX to look for flip-flops for me and see what else they had. No luck there. Then we went to the cute restaurant on the lake that we like and got the spinach salad and white pizza to share. I could *live* on the spinach salad. Fresh spinach, apples, almonds, cranberries, cheddar cheese- but the kicker is their homemade apple/vinegar dressing. I wish that they sold it because it is delish!!

I am cleaning at the Weaponry today and picking up groceries. Yay rah, fun, fun. Caitlyn is taking Otter to the vet, she has been sneezing a lot. I feel bad, it is their first field trip to the vet and I can't go. The vet gets such a kick out of the rats, he is like a kid with them. Yesterday, I was trying to snuggle with Otter and I had placed the bucket of cheerios on the floor of the cage. She wiggled out of my hands and jumped- right into the cheerios and they went flying all over. The three of them raced over, grabbed the cheerios, shoved as many as they could into their mouths, and ran off. LOL

HAGD!! xoxoxo

@vickyday I loved (still do) playing in the rain. Thx for the prayers, it rained again at dinner time. Yipppeeee!
Hey- congrats on your Gallery Stand out! I saw your LO there :)
I was so incredibly blessed to have all 4 of my g-parents until I was in my 20s. I was very close to my grandma, used to ditch school and visit her. We buried her in the dress that she was going to wear to my wedding, it was awful. My kids are extremely close to all 4 of their g-parents too and they know how lucky they are.

@tanteva hahah, Hi back to your bitmoji cat!
20053960.png

It sounds like Sweden is really pro-worker which is a great thing, but sorry that you are getting the short end of the stick. Would you ever sell any of your knitted things for extra money?
14 LOs in a month would be incredible for me- I can't imagine doing 40!! I am thrilled if I get 10 in a month done. I do hope the mojo comes back soon but I get that the brain sometimes needs to work on mindless things like weaving in ends.
WTG on the weight loss!!

@LSlycord any luck getting your modem in? Hope it came earlier than expected. How is Decker doing? He is such a cutie. It has to be a nice distraction for Shaun, I bet he misses Syd more than he expected to.

@taxed4ever How did your Gary do back at work, wasn't too tired when he got home, hopefully. Have a fun time on the hike today, the island sounds really neat! That is so smart to pack an ice block to keep you cool as well as your water.
I was surprised that while we got a nice steady rain it was downpouring everywhere else. My mom was driving home from the mall and said that she couldn't see the cars in front of her and my brother's area got flooded.
I was cracking up at the photo of Shaun on his 1st-day pic too-- LOL!!!

@pachimac the pandemic really caused so much stress and anxiety and I worry that we haven't really addressed it as a society, hope that your DD has some good outlets for stress- it seems like you two are very close which is great, even when it makes you want to cry

@bcgal00 You needed a day to be lazy! I hear ya on dogs with brick heads- J's head is a brick. Her entire body is a brick LOL Glad that Remi didn't break any bones, it is one of those trips to the ER that you dread-- Who would believe that story? My dog broke my hand? Like when Cait's bunny tripped her and she broke her finger. We thought for sure the hospital was going to call DYFS hah :D
Sounds like Remi really missed you!! Jen can bring Bella with her to the job? It just gets better! When will she make the final decision and start? Such a great opportunity, I am really happy for her ♥

@Cherylndesigns oh poor Ellie- BTDT, my first dog had severe separation anxiety, she is the one who ate my sofas. Training and maturity should help that a lot. I miss having a puppy. (Not planning to get one, two dogs are plenty! ) My SIL family just adopted a 4 mo old, he is adorable and I can't wait to see him.

@tanteva sad thing is that I can remember so much of the Ooos, but can't remember a damn thing in my "real life." :D
@pachimac no stress over personals or posts, it is not allowed. *shakes head* Post as much or as little as you like!

@BrightEyes Sounds like your Dr is on the ball, what a relief! Hope that you get the blood work back so she can adjust the meds so you feel better ASAP

Good morning ladies. Still no internet. Fed Ex missed their 8:00 pm delivery time last night. But it now says that it is out for delivery. My fingers are crossed.

Today is Syd’s first day of classes. She has a tough schedule. Differential equations, computer aided drawing for engineers, physics and agriculture biology engineering. Hopefully she doesn’t walk out exhausted. I sure would. Of course, when I took physics, we used slide rules. And that is no joke.

Things are going well with the dogs. Decker and Hayden wrestle around constantly. Hayden misses her playmate (Sydney) so it actually is good that they can play with each other.

Shaun is missing Syd. He said he was anxious to hear what she thought about classes. Which is crazy for Shaun to say that!

@faerywings so glad that you and your mom had a good day! Those are the moments that are worth everything. I’m on the iPad which is slow going so I’ll be back in a bit.

Hello, Everyone!

I just realized I never made it into this thread yesterday! Just before the Vertigo, I started doing a Kondo-style purge. I've only been in this apartment for three years. How does one single woman collect so much stuff? My son helps me take the donated goods down the three flights of stairs. I have to finish it all this month because he has weddings to video, sometimes two, every week in September, and will be processing non-stop in between, plus his full-time job. So I worked until I was exhausted yesterday - decluttering.

@faerywings Yay! You got rain. I'm so happy for you.
That's sweet about your Mom helping with Cait's wedding. I'm so sorry your grandmother passed, and so near your wedding too. That had to be soooo very difficult for all of you. Two of my grandparents, my maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather passed when I was a tiny baby. My maternal grandfather passed when I was nine. My maternal grandmother, was hit by a car and killed, on Christmas eve, when I was ten. I so wish I could have had them in my life longer.
The bitmoji's (??) are so cute.
I'm sorry your Dad has vertigo. Yes, I do the low-salt too, but it really doesn't help, or maybe it does, and if I weren't doing that, I'd have Vertigo all the time rather than occasionally.
Yum! The quesadillas sound wonderful. Cait wouldn't like it at my house, I eat a lot of fish.

@vickyday So sorry about your headaches. I'll be praying for you.

@tanteva I don't know what bitmoji is; I'll have to look into that. Yours is so cute.
I think there is a low-mojo epidemic this month. I've heard others say similar, and it's been the same with me, the past two months, actually. I can't blame it all on Vertigo either.
Congrats on the weight loss!

@LSlycord I hope you got the modem.
Glad things are going well with Decker. Have fun! :)
Just read your post above: So sorry the modem didn't come. Hope you get it today for sure. Wow! Syd is going to be one busy girl. Makes my brain hurt just thinking of tackling all of that. o_O

@taxed4ever Your hike sounds wonderful. Enjoy and stay as cool as possible.
So glad your Gary was about to return to work and I hope he did well.
I want to do the siggie challenge too, hopefully, today, as I want a new one for fall.

@pachimac My youngest granddaughter is 19 and a real drama queen!!

@bcgal00 I'm so glad your trip was awesome! The helicopter ride to the glaciers sounds like such a fun adventure.

@BrightEyes I hope you get good results from the tests and bloodwork. When my hubby was on BP meds he had severe dizzy spells now and again and had to have it lowered.

I hope to get some scrapping done today finally! But, now, it's time for a tea break. Have a great day!! ♥

@faerywings YAY!! So glad you got some more rain! It actually rained here again through the night! Our lawn is beautiful and lush! So is the garden! Well, I say garden, but really my "garden" consists of two 3-tiered boxes, 4'x4' along side of the carport. I planted maybe 7 or 8 tomato plants and 2 cantaloupe plants (that were supposed to be zucchini plants). Last year I got very little from what I planted. This year we have gotten more than we can eat.....especially since everything ripened while we were sick for 3 weeks and unable (and didn't care) to eat or gather any of it, so it went bad on the vines! Mark brought in the cantaloupes, but they were too ripe or rotten already. We sent some home with his daughter so she could feed it to her horses and goats and mule. I've got 5 or 6 more cantaloupe about ready to harvest. I will probably share those with the church peeps. And we are getting cherry tomatoes and regular tomatoes galore!

And thanks for the congrats on the GSO! AND, same to you, BTW! I saw yours right above mine! Beautiful page! Love the blue and the map in the background! I did get my mojo back after being sick for 3 weeks. I've done 40 layouts this month! I keep seeing and hearing and reading things on the WWW that inspires me to do a page. I like doing pages with my own photos so I can get them printed. Very rarely do I use an image I got off the internet. I've been doing several faith based pages lately that don't include pictures, but quotes or scripture verses. Anyway, I'm glad I'm feeling better! ;)

I don't mind getting wet in the rain, but I don't purposefully do it anymore! I'm too clumsy on my feet these days. I currently have a sore tail bone where I have fallen and landed on it twice this summer! This 66th year has been hard on me, LOL!

Glad you had a good day with your mom! Enjoy every minute you get to share with her! I lost mine in 2005. The thing that makes me the saddest is that my kids were very close to her and my dad and I wish my grandkids could have gotten to know them! My kids used to spend a week or so with them every summer!

@LSlycord I hate you still have no internet! I hope FedEx comes early today! And just reading the list of classes Syd is taking exhausted me, LOL!!! And I'm glad the dogs are getting along well!

Well, I need to get busy! Have a great day, everyone!

@Betty Jo , thanks for the prayers, my sweet friend! The headache is more than tolerable today, thank the Lord! So sorry you are having vertigo problems! I will pray for you, too! Tim's brother suffers with vertigo!

I know what you mean about one person collecting "stuff" without really realizing it! My problem on my end is that when Mark and I got married I had a whole parsonage full of "stuff" that I had to do something with! And I didn't want to get rid of all of it and my kids wanted very little of it since they already had homes of their own full of their own "stuff" LOL. My youngest son took just about all of my kitchen stuff and our sleigh bed frame and box spring mattress, but that is about it! I gave away some items a few friends could use, but the big entertainment center was brought into Mark's already full home. I have Tim's recliner the girls bought him for Father's day the year he passed that he used for less than 2 months. The matching coffee table and end tables to the entertainment center are here. I bought a storage building after Tim passed that turned into my crafting she shed, so at least all of that is out there! I still have a hutch and hide-a-bed couch and computer table and office furniture and other furniture that is still in the parsonage! It's not a problem at this point because the pastor already had a home elsewhere. But one of these days that stuff is going to have to go! OY VEY! I said all of that to say that our house is PACKED FULL of STUFF!!!

Vicky, I'm so glad to hear the headache is better. Just saw your Gallery Standout on Gallery Standouts blog. Congrats, and I'll get back to the gallery later to comment.

Wow! What a job you've had with everything. Hopefully, you'll find someone who needs the rest of the things in the parsonage when you have to remove them. Before I moved to Winston and shared the apartment there with my friend, I did a huge purge. I couldn't have fit all my stuff in that two-bedroom apartment with hers. Then, when she got ill and moved to Delaware, eventually passing away, I was left with all her stuff and mine. It took me a couple of years to sort it all out. I'm really quite a minimalist, so have kept very little furniture. But, for some reason, I do collect a lot of small kitchen appliances, and other kitchen paraphernalia. I like my home to have just enough stuff to know where everything is, and I can put my hands on it quickly when needed. So, I've started with the kitchen items this time 'round. I've kept my clothing, shoes, that sort of thing quite minimal since moving from Winston, so not much to do there. Next, I'll move on to craft items, paper, etc . . . Everything that goes out, makes me feel lighter and freer somehow. It's hard even to explain, but it happens every time I do a cleanout.

Morning ladies... I am so bummed out!!! Our hike got cancelled because of the severe heat that we are going to have today. It would be different if the hike was just a couple of hours in the early morning, but its going to be an all day thing and the temps are supposed to be very hot! Going to be 92 degrees but with the humidity it will feel more like 104 degrees. The hike leaders are saying that is too darn hot and are not sure if there will be anywhere to get water if someone has not brought enough. We are an older bunch of hikers, so its probably for the best. Who wants to hike in that heat, but darn I was really looking forward to the day! Oh well now I can finish off the page that I started and get the bathrooms cleaned Ugh!! I might see if my brother is going to be home in the afternoon and perhaps go for a swim at his place on the river. We will see.

@faerywings - How nice that your visit with your Mom went so well and to hear that she is feeling so much better is awesome too!! Bet she is wondering why she waited so long to get her pacemaker! Be careful cleaning at the weaponry today!! We don't need you chopping off a finger or a toe LOL. BTW my Gary was very happy to be at work again! He was a bit tired on his first day back, but seems to be back to normal now. The guys at work brought him a notice, saying that his moustache has been officially declared as missing and put out an APB (All points bulletin) on it LOL. I am hoping that they never find it!!! Everyone said he looks 10 years younger without. I agree! I think he secretly likes it better now too.

@LSlycord - Wow Syd sure has a big day ahead of her today!! Hopefully she won't be too tuckered out from it! So sweet that her brother is missing her! Sorry your internet is still not up and running, but hopefully today! Glad to hear that the dogs are so far getting along so well!

@Betty Jo - Sounds like you have lots of purging to do! I did that in my craft room awhile back, but its getting to be cluttered again! How does that happen? Where does all that stuff come from LOL. I have started working on a junk journal and now there are papers and things everywhere LOL. I can't believe how many paper packs I have in my stash!

Well the boys are calling so I will come back in a bit and finish off personals.

Not hard to understand at all! Every time I pass something on, I feel better, too! Even if it is to my girls and I'll see it again!
Really, the biggest problem, and where I am stonewalled, is with Mark's dad's/mom's stuff that is all over the house and FILLS the basement! For instance, there is a stereo (that doesn't even work) sitting in my dining room......he won't part with it because it was his dad's! One of the spare bedrooms he uses as his office. It is WALL to WALL stuff.....book cases, file cabinets, wall to wall computer desk, separate desk in the middle of the floor, old computers, gun cabinets, old safes.....the list goes on and on! There is a chest freezer in the basement.....full of food? NO, full of old paperback books of his dads! It is very frustrating when I try to purge, but can't! I don't even go into his office unless I need something from one of the file cabinets! There is a pathway to it and a pathway to the wall to wall computer desk and that is it!

Just a quick in and out this morning. I was feeling progressively ill as yesterday went on...sore throat and headache and really tired. I was awake most of the night with a heavy tight chest, headache and really sore throat. I could barely get out of bed this morning I was so beat. So I did a home test and yes, it's positive. Ugh. So I'll stay home for 5 days as I think that's the requirement now. I'm exhausted so am going back to bed now.

Good morning, Lovelies.

Yes, it's still morning LOL. I never got back in here yesterday it turned out to be a busy day. Adrienne came back down in the late afternoon and we had a nice visit. She and Ava have been here already. I've got to tell you a funny story - we have 2 hummingbird feeders right outside my office window. Those little stinkers come in droves to drink that nectar. Chuck can hardly keep them filled up. We love watching them and they're not afraid of us at all. Well, they were empty this morning and he went out to fill the feeders. They were literally waiting for him to get done. He held out his hand and a couple of them ALMOST landed on his hand. We were flabbergasted! I tried to get a picture, but didn't get my phone in time. I was yelling at him to stay there, but he didn't hear me. It was SO sweet!

Vicky @vickyday hope your headache is letting up a little. Are they migraines? Adrienne has them and the dr put her on that new migraine medication and it has really helped her.

Betty Jo @Betty Jo hope your vertigo is better - that's debilitating. I've had it before. I agree with you, how can we accumulate so much stuff? We've only been in this house 2 years and it's full already.

Trudy @taxed4ever sorry your hike got cancelled, but if it's that hot, you wouldn't want to go anyway. Are there heat advisories? We just went through that.

Chris @faerywings that's so cool that your mom wants to open a bank account to help with Cait's wedding. I'm so happy that she's feeling better. My gardens look lush again since we got some good rain days. It really perked everything up. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow - I took some last evening. Some of my herbs didn't make it, but I know which ones to try to shield from the hot, direct sun next year.

I know you use lemon balm in your gifts that you make each year. Have you ever used fresh, dried lemon balm? Do you buy the tinctures, or what? I have quite a bit of it - dried now - but I'm not sure what to do with it.

I'm going to get off of here - Ava said she was coming back, so I want to get this post finished first.

Hugs to all. Kay @BrightEyes hope to hear good news from your dr visit yesterday.

Morning everyone. Still waiting to hear from the doctor about my test results. One thing I have already noticed since I cut the BP med in half... I am not feeling dizzy when I change positions and my BP is still in normal range!! Will monitor it for a few days to make sure the lower dose is enough to keep the BP in check. Sure hope to hear from her today and get whatever meds she thinks I need.

We had rain very early this morning but now have sunshine. It is already up to 76*F and suppose to get up into the mid-to-high 80*. I have been wanting Pizza since everyone has been talking about it and what they like on it. But not going to turn the oven on to fix it as I don't want to heat the house up with having it on for 45-50 min! Especially since my body reacts normally to the heat in the late afternoon and I usually have my large meal for supper. I have also been craving waffles with fresh fruit so may make up a batch sometime this week. Yummy!

@bcgal00 Oh, no!!! So sorry about you coming down with Covid!!!! Hope your DH and Jen don't get it.

@faerywings Be careful when you are cleaning at Weaponry central!! So glad to hear your Mom is doing so much better... and hope she can ignore when her hubby starts grumbling.

@taxed4ever so sorry your hike got cancelled but better not do it when there is a high heat warning.

I am feeling well enough right now to work on a few pages... so best get them done before I get too tired.

FYI: it took about 10 minutes of the voting being opened today before I snapped. 65+ man mansplaining my work for me, and blaiming me for the fact that adult people can't stand in line AND keeping distance at the same time. To my defense, I was a library employee at the time, not working in the voting room.

The stupidity of people never stops to amaze me. Taped arrows & lines on the floor, red carpets, a sign to tell them "voting this way", and finally ropes to show the way. People just passing it all, and come up to the desk, asking where the voting is. *smiley smashing his head into the wall screaming profanities*

Breathe in, breathe out. 13 hrs til I'm back at work.

Well I never made it back here for personals or anything else. I grabbed my bathing suit and had a wonderful afternoon on the dock at my brother place, the river was nice and refreshing, it was good to be swimming and get my body temperature lowered, great visit with brother and SIL!! Lots of laughs as usual.

@bcgal00 - oh nooo not you tooo!! Your symptoms are the same as what my DH had!! Lots of rest and cold meds helped him out. I can't say as I am surprised, Covid is rampant again, its not going away any time soon. ((((hugs)))) to you and your family and will keep my fingers crossed that no one else in the family gets it!!

I am sooo bored! I completed my walk at 7am this morning before the heat hit 21C. Did the laundry, cleaned, read 100 pages of my book, completed 2 CT pages and played a game of word with my sister all before noon. My Sept. challenge is done and I have spent time in the gallery commenting and posted all my pages in various galleries.
If I don't think of something to do I know I will start binge eating just to pass the time. ackhhhh!
It is hot up here in the office by the computer so staying in here is not going to happen.
Foul mood .. My apologies. Karen has left the building.

Just quick update...I do have internet so I can now use the computer again instead of the iPad. Unfortunately, since I was out for 2 1/2 days of work and my last day is next Friday, I have quite a bit to catch up with. I'll be back later to talk in the Thursday thread.
