I am running so darn late again. Too much news to think about and too little brainpower to deal with it.
Caitlyn asked for my opinion about (re)switching back to remote classes if she can for this semester and I honestly don't know what to tell her. NJ is doing relatively OK with new cases but they are increasing. Schools here don't open until Sept 1 or so. I read an article that Lollapalooza did not turn into a super spreader event and that is somewhat reassuring since Scott, Leah, and their best friends are going to a music festival in a month. While everything is outdoors, I am naturally concerned. That doesn't even cover the bits of world news I am sad about, Haiti and Afghanistan for ex.

So yeah, lots and lots of stuff just rattling and bouncing around my brain.

I was very happy getting lots of stuff done on my to-do list yesterday. Go me!! We didn't get much rain yesterday, just a bit of a mist - heavy rain is coming today. If I were smart (and it seems like I am not ha!!) I would have put much down for the azalea, now I am worried that the rain is going to wash the dirt away and expose the roots. I should try to get out there before I get in the shower- which has to be soon since I am off to food shop this morning. No wonder I am cranky  ;) :D

Wishing everyone a happy day!!

@nancyr yup. humidity is definitely up there again. Poor Luther, he must have been so happy the past week. What a neat thing for your friend to share the old photo!
What is bubble-net feeding? The show must be incredible to watch and how neat that you were able to see it in real life.

@tanteva ROTFLMAO!!

@Cherylndesigns that is too funny about your mom being called Great Garbo. My mom would call me Sarah Bernhardt because apparently, I was a drama queen even back then.
If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they make almond croissants. Also very yummy!

There's probably a Trader Joe's in Tulsa - I've never looked. Of course, since the car theft, we haven't even talked about going shopping there. Insert eye roll emoji)

I'm up early - just can't sleep and started getting texts kind of early. I know the "state of the state" and the rest of the world are playing into that. Chris, @faerywings I told both my dds yesterday that my kids would homeschool if I had to go through what they're going through. The masking isn't a big deal here - B and A are both in HS and their principal has insisted that he won't mandate them. (Of course, our cases aren't real great here, either.) On the other hand, in FL, they're going county by county. Steph is so relieved that they're in a county that they're mandatory. Takes so much pressure off the parents. Her ex is not a big believer in them, so they fight over that all the time. They share custody so she worries constantly, when he's with his dad.

I worked on my tattoo layout last night and I'm almost done. I think I am done, in fact. I'll let you know when I post it.

We're getting rain - finally. Third day of rain at night and on and off during the day. I didn't tell you guys about my HUGE Day Lillies. One of them looks like a corn plant! Remember my Jack and The Beanstalk? Well, I have another one. I'll try to take pics today and then, hopefully, the ground is soft enough that I can dig it up and put it somewhere else. it's almost covering our front walk.

Good morning ladies. I have been busy with family, dogs and CT stuff (as always LOL). I just don't get as much chit-chat time anymore. That's one of the things I will enjoy when I retire...having a little bit more "me" time. Plus, we'll sell the house, buy a big rancher with an open floor plan so my desk will be in the main living area and I'll get to hang out with family as I scrap and do computer stuff. Hard to believe that is only a year away. So, while I don't get to come in and chat much these days, I do think of you all. The temps are cooling a bit here, we've had a bit of rain but not much yet. Remi doesn't know what to make of the shorter days. She can't understand why we're not going out into the backyard to play with the flirt pole and ball with launcher at 9:30 pm LOL. She sits in the dark at the basement door and looks up at the garage where she knows her things are and wants to play. Silly dog. She's really going to be confused when her usual 7:00 am outdoor playtime is dark soon too.

@faerywings It's a hard decision about the virtual school or physically going. I get how hard that must be. We're still being cautious here (wearing a mask out anywhere and social distancing) and don't go out a lot. We're waiting to see how the delta wave goes over the next few months. We've both had both vaccines but we could still get sick and I worry about long term effects.

I'm getting coffee and getting to work while Remi is napping under my desk. Have a great day everyone and talk again soon.

good morning - cloudy and lots of humidity. Luther did not even want to walk this am. Poor boy! My DH is home trying to start preparing who is teaching each class and his own lectures. Yesterday's lunch with my girlfriends was so fun. We talked for 3 hrs. We plan on doing it each month. Got more scrapping done. One thing I have noticed with taking photos these days is that just take so many hoping they get a good shot instead of a few and working to get the correct shot. Makes scrapping a bit more tedious going through their photos to add to mine. But I am glad that I do have theirs to pick through. My DH brought home dinner from his favorite sushi place - that was sweet.

@faerywings Chris we did not have any rain! Hoping Fred losing its punch before hitting NJ. Yes I agree it is sad to see how the withdrawal from Afghanistan is going. My son said the country is beautiful. Always shocked that Haiti seems to get hit so hard but the other side of the island the Dominican Republic fares so well. Bubble-net feeding is when the humpbacks get together and force herring into a ball and then the dominate matriarch whale blows bubbles. The whales go up with mouths open and eat and break the surface. Just so cool! Here is the link https://oscraps.com/community/media/2018aug10-bubble-net-feeding-2.319249/

@bcgal00 Rae I loved the photos of the dogs playing I saw on Facebook. I bet they keep you really busy! Glad its only a year for you to retire. I know you will still be busy!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl Trader Joe's has some really yummy stuff. I completely understand though why you don't want to go to Tulsa. That is amazing about your plants.

Waving to all! Have a great day!

Quick in and out this AM... need to go to the grocery store to pickup some things the commissary didn't have. Will check if the pharmacy there has the annual flu shots in yet. Hope they do so I can get that done.

Had a brainstorm a couple of days ago. Dug out DH's old Dell laptop and discovered it had the Works program with database and spreadsheet. It works just fine - so I am using it to catalog my DVD inventory. It has Windows7 native and I almost had heart failure when I realized that it was up-grading to Windows 10 this AM. To my surprise and pleasure - Works DB still works okay. Was able to finish adding the DVD Movies inventory this morning. Need to connect it to my printer and will be able to print out a copy of the inventory. Whoo-whoo! I decided that if that prints out okay - I will put the VHS tapes inventory on it and - if I get really ambitious - will add my book inventory to it. Pretty sure I have earlier copies of both VHS tapes and book inventories on DVDs somewhere. That would save me a lot of time if I can find them. Might as well use that laptop for inventories as they can get very large. No point on putting them on the newer computer as I need the space for my scrapping stuff. hahahaha

Cheryl, like the LO so much.

Rae and Nancy - so glad to see your posts.

Gotta run. CYL

Hello again. I just got back from a walk with Daisy and it's getting hot. On the way home, Adrienne and Lila came out to see us, so I brought Lila home with me. Daisy was happy to see her.

Nancy @nancyr I'm sure there's a Trader Joe's in Tulsa - that is such an awesome place! Adrienne is still in some kind of "state" over her car theft. She hardly wants to drive her car and she hasn't even washed all the numbers and writing off of it from the impound. Very weird - but I don't say anything to her. I think it traumatized her more than I realized.

I just went out and started messing with my huge plant and what I think happened is something blew in from the field and cross-pollinated with it. I did take a picture. It's been raining so much that I hadn't taken the time to really get down into it. I'm going to dig it up today and figure out what it is.

Kay @BrightEyes good for you for finding a computer with Works on it! Glad you like my LO. I know what you mean about the computer - we found an extra one when we started unpacking here. It was our youngest dd's and she didn't want it. It has barely any memory on it, but that can be remedied. At least we have a backup now.

Here's my plant before I tear it up. It literally grows by the hour. We could probably hear it if we listened closely. LOL

Was a bit off yesterday, but I'm popping in quickly now (Thursa´day morning here). I'm working today, noon til 6. After that I only have 3 work days booked the next 2 weeks. After that I don't know if I get any more work this year. I guess it depends if everyone keeps healthy or not. I really enjoy the work and hope I will get more hours. I guess it all boils down to economy, and how much they can afford to take in extras instead of moving around ordinary staff.

Well, need to get a lot of stuff done before I get off to work. TTY in the next thread.
