GoooooOd morning, O-Fam!

I must have slept good or something because after this second cup of coffee, I am not feeling all that bad.

I tried to catch up with everyone from the weekend on yesterday, but I am sorry if i missed anything. Y'all know I adore you so at least there is that. :D

Jaida's appt yesterday went really well!!! Surgeon was very pleased with the way she was walking and putting weight on her foot, so no x-rays needed. She is now able to do unlimited walking, and he wants her on all terrains/hills/stairs but still all on-leash. I have to find some places that I can bring her since the same 200 feet on my street that she is willing to go isn't going to be enough hah!!!

on the way home in the car, I got a call from the breast surgeon's office. My surgeon that I love is not in the practice anymore so there is a new dr taking her patients so we rescheduled that. I can't even leave the house to go on one appt w/o getting called about another appt.:cell: hehehe!

Today I am off to work and if the weather (and my back) stay nice, I am going to do some yard work. Just being away for a few days, my morning glories are out of control.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful day!!!

I forgot that yesterday was National Rum Day. I had texted Caitlyn a pic of her rat Clover, who was caught unaware and looked like she was a bit drunk, which then evolved (devolved?) into a text convo of pina coladas and rum. Today is
Today is National Vanilla Custard Day! Vanilla custard is a sweet pudding-like dish made with vanilla, eggs, sugar, and milk. It can be enjoyed on its own or as a topping for other desserts.
Vanilla custard has been around since the Middle Ages, and was traditionally used as a pie filling. (A very simple custard tart was a popular dessert during that time period.) Today, custard is an important component in many dessert recipes including éclairs, trifle, and Boston cream pie.
To celebrate National Vanilla Custard Day, whip up your favorite homemade custard dessert to share with friends and family. Enjoy!

I am not a fan of custard, but maybe you are?

Nancy- oh no! The cone!!!! (Did you see my LO of Jaida in the cone?) Poor pup!!!! We watched Monster Inc on vacation one night and when the monster gets the cone- i couldn't stop laughing.
Poor Luuther, he must be miserable. Thank goodness that you found a place that will give him his baths, b/c I know that is not something that I could do with either of my dogs and Luther is way bigger than them. Probably not as stubborn as jaida, but def. bigger! How long do you have to do that?
And DH! OMG, that is crazy about his rib. I am glad that he went to the dr, cuz you all know how some men can be. Thank goodness that you like to walk Luther since you will be doing it a lot.
I haven't done any scrapping at all, and was really relieved when I checked the Sept. Challenge schedule that I am not hosting one.

jean- Hope the weather cooperated for you. We had storms come in last night and the humidity dropped a lot. We also saw a really cool rainbow. It was a regular rainbow but under the violet band, there was another yellow band. I don't think i have ever seen one like that.
I bet the new wildlife are was great! I love that kind of stuff obviously. Hope the editor give your article the :thumb:

Rae- were you able to get all caught up with groceries/meal planning? I need to do that today ugh- shopping tomorrow but I have no idea what i am cooking. Same story, different day.
That must be kind of creepy to hear the coyotes howling like that. At least the bears are pretty quiet until they try to knock over your garbage cans.

Netflix recommendation: Stranger Things. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but growing up in the 80's, it has a very nostalgic vibe- very ET/Stand by Me/Poltergeist/Alien, etc. It starts kind of slow, but really gets going.

Trudy- I can't imagine being unplugged that long- I was only offline for 5 days and it is hard for me to want to be back online.
Sorry that DH is interrupting your scrap time but that is one thing men are good at LOL

Hugs and love!

good morning - I don't know where my days go. Went grocery shopping so that took a huge hunk of time as first I had to figure out what i was going to cook - Chris does this sound familiar LOL. Well I settled on Sloppy Joes and OMgosh it was so good. The recipe had lots of veggies in it way more than what I remember. Then of course I had to cook. But at least it was really good. Got Luther out of an early walk but thunderstorms came through. But he got good play time. My husband is feeling so much better. So that is good. Watching more Haven and I am almost at the end season 4 and then only one season left. Also watching Olympics which are really good.

Chris that is so bizarre that you finish one appt only to be called for another change. But so glad that Jaida is doing so well. Have fun in the garden today. Nice breeze here but still so humid.

Jean hope your weather is cooling down. They say in NJ that it should be cooler but is the difference between 89 and 90 really real. Hope the new wildlife center opening went well and good luck with the article.

Rae so glad your work schedule is doing well. That is really scary about the coyotes in your area. I would not walk there at all.

Trudy hope you got some scrapping done. I did not and it is driving me crazy LOL. Nice though that you DH is painting.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... its going to be another scorcher of a day, but it sure is nice to see the sun and for the last few days hardly a cloud in the sky. They say we are going to be like this for the rest of month. Camp fire bans are now on so that will upset all the campers, but at least you could have them for a longer period of time than the last couple of years. Today hubby is out there finishing off the top front of the house and boy what a difference it makes! So nice to have it looking like new again. Lots of peeling paint on the trim and he is doing an amazing job!! So nice that we do not have to pay to have it done!

Chris - That's too bad that your regular dr. is leaving, but nice that they rescheduled you and didn't leave it as a surprise when you went for your next check up! Oh great that Jaida's appt. went well, you must have done a great job at helping her be a good patient!! It will be good for all of you to let her walk and play again! What a relief! :becky: I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things again, I did start a scrap page, but it is taking me a long time to get it done!

Nancy - Glad to hear that your MG is doing so much better! Yes grocery shopping is the worst!! I hate it too especially when you have no idea what to make. We got so tired of eating so much chicken while the kids were all here, as none of them like pork very much and the only other things they really love is either hamburgers or spaghetti :becky: So DH and I have enjoyed a couple of good meals of Pork Roast . Hope that the thunderstorms brought some relief from the humidity and heat that you have been having! Perhaps today you will get some scrapping time in.

Ok DH wants some help with ladders, so I better get going (sigh) hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday!

Good morning, ladies. What a beautiful bright sunny day it is here (and I'm enjoying being inside with the A/C). I took Taz to doggie daycare this morning and he was so excited. It's so quiet in the house with him gone but I always get a lot done on these days when he is away so at least it's productive. But I am always so happy to go pick him up at the end of the day and see his happy face. I put up a new suet feeder this morning (the other one had a clip broken off) and the birds were flitting around, chirping at me. They obviously were hungry and wanted to get at it LOL.

Chris - so happy to hear Jaida got a good report from the doctor. I've heard of Stranger Things and have watched the first few minutes of the premiere. It's on my list to watch.

Nancy - Glad your hubs is starting to feel a bit better. I love sloppy joes and we have it quite often. I grill gluten free bread for the base of mine and hubs gets an onion or cheese soft kaiser for his base.

Trudy - sounds like your hubs is really speedy on the painting! Mine isn't LOL. He still needs to finish our exterior painting (one side and part of the back of the house) so hopefully soon before the fall comes. We've had gorgeous weather this week and I'm happy to have this for the rest of the month.

I'm off to get my work done. I'm developing a good system now. I go online for an hour or so in the morning then work for most of the morning except for a few breaks to peruse online and then a short lunch/walk the dog and back at it for a few hours. Then I can run errands, do a few chores and get back to work until dinner and then if I still have work left over, go back after dinner to finish. It breaks up my day so my fingers don't get tired of typing so much, I get online a bit, and I get Taz time. I don't mind working later into the evening as we normally just sit and watch TV at that time so it's not a big deal to cut into that time. That's what the PVR is for, to record all my shows and then I can watch at my leisure. So, so far I am handling the workload and getting used to not being online as much or scrapping as much. And on the days when I have a lighter workload I will enjoy a little more "me" time.

Have a great day, everyone!

While gray skies rule, it's really pretty nice today. Leaving soon for the dentist (just regular perio appt.). And, yes!! The editor liked the article and said it's not too long. May not need any changes, so off my list now. The wildlife area wasn't quite ready for us but we got to look from a balcony and got to see photos & videos of animals who will be in it and how they're being trained for the new space and activities. Them a young gray fox got to see us all. He is beautiful and well socialized (not let loose - wouldn't that be interesting!) Mostly these are rescue animals and are used for education.

Chris, good luck with the morning glories. Yay for Jaida's checkup.

Hear footsteps, so gotta go!
