The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
hey there, O-zies and Cheery O Girlios! I woke up at 4 am again. What is wrong with me? Stress, perhaps?

My day yesterday was another weird one. Ups and downs and all around. The washing machine was a bust. The computer system is dead so there isn't a way to figure out if that's the only thing not working or just one of several. Needless to say, it will be around another week for the part to come in and get fixed which means that sweaty summer clothes are piling up. PU. *holds nose*
Under normal circumstances I would take a load down to my mom's, we would go out to lunch and then I would come back with clean clothes.
As I was cooking dinner (new recipe and really very yummy!), Gary told me about Joe Biden's VP pick. I have lots of mixed feelings about that but I think once they settle down I will be very happy with Kamala. I was disappointed, I *really* wanted Elizabeth Warren but I knew deep down it was going to be Kamala. She was my #2 presidential nominee pick and I think she's smart choice. My dream ticket was Warren/Harris so you would think I would be happier. My kids are left of me and they are not thrilled at all. They are voting for Biden no matter what but I think they wanted to see someone more progressive. Now I am all in for Warren to be Sec of Treasury. Economic justice is where her heart is.
Dinner was really good and easier than I expected. The kids found some gluten-free recipes and gave them to Gary for our Christmas last month. This was Thai fried rice-- pineapple, red peppers, scallions and cashews. I thought it was not going to be "enough" for a main course, but it turned to be very filling.

Today I am off to the Drs (GYN- blech) and I am not thrilled about it. Who would be? Then I get to come home and pay bills (also blech). After that, I need to contact ACDSee. The download had a corrupted plug-in file and Gary renamed it which fixed the issue of the program crashing. But now when I try to view brushes, I can only see the "main" brush and trying to view the abr file gives me a "cannot read" message. I am not sure if that is the issue but I have to see if it is and how to fix it. Of course, none of this makes any sense in my brain. (triple blech)

Lots of things to do on a sleepy day.

Gratitudes:
-Caitlyn sold another hammock yesterday!
-Someone in my town posted a photo of a Mama bear and cubs!!!!
-tonight's dinner is penne with Gary's homemade vodka sauce :hungry:

hugs!!!

I will have to make these breif, I have to actually put real clothes on today and be out of here in an hour.

Nancy- stay cool today! I like happy and fulfilling endings in TV shows too and Longmire was good for that. That is a really neat thing that Anna does. I bet it is really helpful to get such and extremely talented and creative set of eyes to make suggestions.
Oh no!! So sorry that your shopping was crazy too! What a mess.

trudy- hehehe! It must be nice having the house to yourself and not be interrupted. Although it sounds like you are doing that to yourself with the different projects. You will find your rhythm again.
yeah, as former PreK teacher its in in your nature to reach other and touch the kids who need help. I got *blasted* once when a little girl in my class cut her head on an exposed screw under the deck on the playground. I ran over to her her (ok- I waddled, I was 8 months pg) and immediately put my hand over the wound that was gushing blood while I was getting her back inside to get towels. Scalp wounds *bleed* a lot and what was I supposed to do? The director was furious with me but it wasn't in my instinct to tell this hysterical 4 yo to stay put while I went and put gloves on first.
As for the masks-- I simply can't imagine how teachers will get them to keep them on. :(

Jean- What a fantastic day you had watching all of the birds last week and I can see that it rejuvenated you quite a bit! I hope that feeling stays with you for a long time.
Many cheeses - esp parm and romano- use rennet so I have to look for ones that use microbial enzymes instead. Thankfully, she isn't vegan and will eat dairy products so it is easy to shop.

Better get ready!

good morning - wow Chris you scared me as I have a hair cut appt on the 12 which is today and then I saw your post and I thought omgosh did I miss it yesterday. LOL. I am awake now! I will get my walk in as I walk to my hair cut. Asked my DH to keep his phone near in case a thunderstorm comes up and I need a ride home. Had a thunderstorm come through around 4am but luckily it was not close and I went back to sleep. Well hockey started out with a 5 OT game between Blue Jackets and Lightning. It was over 6.5 hrs long. So long that the second game had to be postponed until this morning at 11am. Three games yesterday and today 4 games. This is a fun time of the year since it is too hot to be outside I have all day hockey. Got scrapping done so that is good. Made a easy dinner - chicken stir fry with an awesome cole slaw. Very tasty. Today is a shrimp dinner.

Chris have a good Drs. appt and yea never my favorite but it is a must. Sorry about the washing machine. That is one of the problems I guess with new stuff when the computer part goes hard to fix. I bet you could socially distance at you parents to wash clothes as long as you don't touch much and stay apart and sanitize what you touch. Your dinner sounds yummy - I love pineapple.

Trudy how nice to have had such a long FaceTime. It must be fun to have so many projects. Enjoy the quiet.

Jean wow what a great variety of birds. I have not gone to my favorite spot as the biting flies are out and it just is not fun as you cant open window or get out side to look. But I did see goldfinch on a walk and they are such pretty birds. I imagine after the 5 OT game the Jackets played that they will be mentioned on your TV station. Have fun with the article and drawing.

Hi to all
Gratitude

Morning ladies... Opps Chris you posted this as August 13th, so I will change that for you. Please don't make the days go by any faster than they already do. Or do they go by fast?? Who knows anymore, they all just kind of blend together :loco: Just a quick pop in and out of here for me today too. Back to hiking and this one sounds very nice, with a nice place to have our lunch at the end of it and perhaps a swim in the Lake too as there are change rooms and a place to enjoy the beach. I will throw in a lawn chair so we can have a social distance gathering while we have our lunch. Not too hot today, but I know that we will be quite warm by the end of our hike, so the lake will be very inviting! So now I need to make my lunch, get my backpack all ready and find a lawn chair and pack my swimsuit and towel. It should be a nice day!

Chris - I hope I find my rhythm soon, I don't seem to be able to get a page finished to save my soul. I have been busy with making cards lately and it seems to occupy most of my day LOL. Here is one that I have been working on, its a thank you to Jason and family for having Heather and the boys and helping her out so much. The inside caption reads "One does not need the Size of a Dragon to have the Soul of a Dragon". I found the stamp for this card at my little local paper craft store and I just love it!! I had a lot of fun colouring it and found it very relaxing and therapeutic. So of course I will have to make a few more for my stash of cards lol.

I hope that your appt. goes well, ya none of like to go the gynaecologist do we :mmph: I hope that you will be happy with they way things go down in the States with your politicians. I don't understand politics so I won't go there LOL. Your new recipe sounded delicious and nice that it was enough to fill all of you up! Hope you get to enjoy the rest of your day when you get back home !

Nancy - Yup Chris kinda startled me with the date also!! Today is my son and his wife's anniversary and I thought oh, oh I missed it LOL. Have fun watching all the hockey today! DH was all ready to watch his Bruins, but that didn't happen what a crazy game last night so much OT!! Those poor players must be totally exhausted!! Enjoy your haircut Nancy!!

Jean - Wow that was a lot of birds that you and your DH got to see! How nice that you are creating again and good to bring it down where it is a bit cooler for you! We are supposed to have a very warm weekend here again. More wine festival to partake in with at least 2 more wineries that we have reservations for, hopefully they are a lovely as the last one we did! Hope you get your article ready to post to your blog!

Ok I better get going or I will be late to meet up with everyone at the trailhead. Have a great day ladies!!
