happy happy Hump day!!! How are all of you lOvely O-Fam?

I am hanging in... starting to actually look forward to going away for a few days. I hope that the weather cooperates, but if not, it is what it is.

I had a nice time with BFF yesterday. She is doing really well with having DD leave for school. Then she asked how I was doing and ugh- what a mess it was. But I do feel better and as always she had support and suggestions for me to try.
It is hard for me to "let go" and force the kids-who-aren't-kids-anymore be responsible for themselves. I do too much, (like my mom! hahaha!!) and I have to learn to not take so much on physically and emotionally. After 20 years (26 if you count Gary in that equation LOL), it is a daunting idea. But I'll get there...

Today is looking to be rainy so I am hoping that will be me inside for the morning and then I am cleaning in the afternoon. I have to pay bills and catch up on laundry. Nothing major. I think. hehe.

Hope that everyone here has a super fab day!

Nancy- That is great new about getting the spots removed. I really should get a derm appt for baseline stuff, but I simply cannot bring myself to make an appt. Not one more. But proud of you for keeping up and not letting things get out of hand.
You had a really productive day, and Luther sounded like he had fun too.

Rae- soooo awesome that you and Bailey had a great time together photographing things, I would love to have you as a teacher. (of course, that means I would need to get my lenses repaired *grumble* ) but I love hearing about her enjoying this time with you- and something she should be really proud of being able to do. Good for you both!
Jaida's coat is short and smooth so she doesn't shed horribly, but Ray- that same thick lab coat as Sandy and sheds when you touch her ;)

G'Morning jean!

Huge hugs to you Trudy, that story of Mason broke my heart for you too. :( How hard that must be. I saw the pics on FB of bowling and archery and I am happy Issac will keep you busy. I hope that the week doesn't end too fast for you, as well as that you are not too tired when they are gone. You know we miss you gobs and will be hear with big hugs when you feel lonely xoxoxo

Good morning! Yesterday was a calm almost do nothing day. Did get some cleaning done and did go grocery shopping but that was it! Watched more Haven episodes and the Olympics. The women's gymnastics team was awesome and the swimming was great too! Got Luther out for two walks and again he met some really nice dogs and played for a bit. Today is more of the same.

Chris yes rain coming today but I am hoping I get Luther out first! Glad your day went well and you had such a nice time with your BFF. I still have problems making my son take responsibilities so I feel you pain. Good luck with that and I will take any advice.

Rae how nice that Bailey and you can enjoy photography together. That is awesome she used up the battery! Luther sheds and I have to clean out the vacuum bag multiple times just to get the downstairs done.

Jean hi it is summer and we are getting socked with humidity.

Trudy saw the photos and it looked that everyone was having such fun! Putting Mason and parents on the plane had to be so hard. I would have been crying too.

Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. The house is quiet without Taz here. Earlier I took him to the vet for his surgery today. Poor little guy, he's going to be sore at both ends later when he wakes up. They are going to clip his nails too, so he won't need anything done for awhile, hopefully. There are no guarantees with the butt procedure they are doing but it should help to some degree (fingers crossed). He lost 1/2 lb this week b/c he wasn't feeling well which is a lot for a 24 lb dog. He's so good though, doesn't show discomfort or pain, the only way I know when it is getting bad is that he doesn't want to eat much. When I brought him into the kennel at the vet he just stood there with his tail between his legs, looking out the bars at me. Poor fellow. He also wasn't impressed that he was not allowed any water this morning. He kept looking at the empty bowl and then at me, wondering what was going on. So I'll be anxious to get the phone call that they are done and he is coming out of the anesthesia. The anesthesia always stresses me out, the possibility of complications. I know he'll be fine...but still, I worry. I got groceries, dropped off a prescription and am now ready to start work.

Chris - glad you got to hang out with your BFF and yes, I agree, letting go of the reins is hard but necessary for you and for the kids.

Nancy - How much fun you must be having with watching Haven.

Trudy - my heart was breaking when I heard about the airport goodbye.

Off to work I go. Have a great day, everyone.

We had a big thunderstorm last night with a few branches off our tree in front, but not too much damage, a little hail, wind and scary with lights flickering. Chance of thunderstorms every day for a while. Off shortly to the senior center monthly genealogy group.

Chris, how nice to spend time with BFF and no special drama. Can't imagine how hard it is to make/let the kids pull their own weight. And thanks for comments on my hummingbird page. That webcam is almost addictive watching.

Nancy, we watched some olympics too, but think they talk way too much - just want to see the competition.

Rae, poor Taz, wondering what he's done to be so ill treated! Sure hope it all goes well and improves things long-term.

Trudy, we'll all be here for you when you're back. As Chris said, we miss you!
