I am running so late and crazy and headachey. My eyes hurt and I am actually happy that my appt is on Friday. I have been seeing silver spots a lot. I thought it was just from looking at the computer screen but I was helping Caitlyn study for her Psych test and was getting them then as well.
I forgot to announce the winner for my Birthday Challenge yesterday and did that quickly now.

I am not in a rush to go clean since my friend is on her way to FL for a week. Yeah, I am totally jealous.;) But I have a boatload of stuff to do here and I have the wake to go to this afternoon.

Yesterday was one of those "anything that can go wrong will go wrong" days for all of us. Not sure if Cait had issues- except that she was running late to class and even though it was only 15 minutes late, she was still marked absent.

Please let today be a better day for everyone!
That goes for all of my O-zies too.

Sharon- hope that the weather is better today and that the contractors stay out of your way (as if!). We have a break in the rain today but then flood warning up the wazoo tomorrow and Friday.

Rae- oh yuck! That is a lot of rainy days ahead for you. That is good for you to recognize that Taz prefers his hikes, better for you as exercise too.
Colony sounds interesting, although is sounds too close to what is happening right now in the USA! Ha!!!

Trudy- I hope that your cherry blossoms are ok after the rain. The pump was already working yesterday so it came just in time.

Hugs to all who pop in!
xoxo

good morning - yesterday was busy but not with Luther as when my husband brought him in from his morning walk he just went to his bed and did not move until after lunch. Too funny. I went to meet a friend and then to deposit checks I would swear he had not moved. Made my next Blue Apron meal - shiitake mushroom burgers with sweet potato chips. OMgosh it was so yummy. Made a mizo/mayo for the burger topping. My DH was very impressed. We really like the sweet potato chips. Then it was off to the Rock for the Devils/Flyers game. These last three games are all about Patrik Elias' retirement and thanking him for being a Devil his whole career. He dropped the puck to start the game. He was my favorite player and I am going to miss him. The game was 0-0 through 60 min and then the Devils scored in under a min to win it in OT. Made the ride home very fun. My son did not go as the roof on their house is leaking and they were having companies in to see what can be done. It is always something with a house. And I am so tired of rain. Today should be beautiful! It was foggy when I took Luther out but as we walked the fog starting lifting. Yea! But the rain should be back tomorrow. Yuck!

Chris glad that there was not drama with your parents. Trying figure out gifts for your son is pretty sweet. Glad you are getting your eyes checked. Seeing spots needs to be checked. Yes I get a bit of water in the basement but we have a sump pump and it gets rid of the water. Glad you have a second pump to keep yours dry.

Trudy our trees are starting to bloom too and I am seeing blossoms on the ground from the rain. Such a bummer to not have them on the trees at least for awhile. Hope you have a nice hike today.

Rae that it interesting that Taz is not so interested in other dogs. Luther still is LOL. But now with spring the rabbits have returned and boy does he want to chase them. Have a great time with Ava. And I would have to agree with Taz that walks in the woods are better than running with the dogs.

Sharon so sorry to hear about all the bad weather in the south. My sister and I were at my Aunt's once in Kansas when a hail storm erupted and she lost several windows. My sister had never seen hail like this. Glad you are getting better weather.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... No hike for me today... the rain has stopped for now but looks like much more of it is on its way. This hike is one that I have done before and there are beautiful waterfalls to see on it, which should be flowing like crazy, but it is so wet and slippery and there are lots of creeks to cross which will be overflowing I am sure. So sadly I think I will sit this one out. I have lots to keep me busy here today anyway, I haven't even really started my spring cleaning yet and I have scrap pages to get done for my sister. FIL's birthday is this weekend and so we are hosting his birthday dinner. I asked everyone to contribute to the food prep, so we are doing a Ham and the others are bringing the rest of the food. MIL will bake the cake of course, it is the family fav (not mine) so FIL will be happy with that!

Chris - Hope your day is better today and that things do not go wrong for you and your family!! Yikes on seeing the spots!! Yes get to the eye doctor!! We are in for lots more rain here too, it brings spring flowers, but sheesh it could stop anytime now! Glad your pump came just in time! Stay dry my faery friend and take care of you!!

Nancy - I saw the Martin Brodure Enterprise commercial yesterday and thought... I bet Nancy would love this!! Have you seen it? It made me chuckle!! here is a link... https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=...g-QmBjg_YNJ2M9qwg&sig2=NYYlGNnpE4PA-_TUvfvtvg Your new recipe sounds very delicious! Glad that your hubby was impressed! Hope your son's roofing issue is not a large one! Yes its always something when you are a home owner! Hope you and Luther get to see some nicer weather on your walks soon!

Rae - We are probably cross posting, so I will say good morning and hope that you are not getting webbed feet from all the rain! We did not get the rain yesterday, it bypassed us, but it poured all night and it looks like much more is on the way for us today! Hope your work load is not to big today!

I am ready for my coffee now and then have to get cracking and get things done around here, hope to post some layouts today! Have a great Wednesday everyone!!

Good morning, ladies. Spent some time this morning looking at videos about making videos. I think I am going to start up a youtube channel sometime soon. Nothing fancy, just using my iphone and talking about keto. I really appreciate the info and advice I'm getting from the youtube channels I follow and I'd like to give back, share my experiences too. First thing I need is to get a microphone. I have a stand for my phone already. I'm pretty sure my videos will suck but hey, if it helps someone, it'll be worth it. I did a test video this morning and boy, do I have a greater appreciation for those that make good videos b/c it's not easy. My eyes wander all over the place, I tend to shift from foot to foot and move more than I should and I make stupid weird faces LOL. Oh well...it'll be a learning experience. Since I'm not spending much money on this, if I just can't get into it, no big deal. So, anyway, that is what I did this morning.

Work is going well. I've been able to keep on top of it. I made a new recipe last night. I had leftover roast beef so shredded it, put it on buns for Darrell with butter, mayo/mustard, S&P and swiss cheese. For me, I baked riced cauliflower, egg, italian spice, 2 triangles of laughing cow cheese, sesame seeds, baking powder, S&P and a mix of parmesan/cheddar cheese, in a large silicone muffin tray and made hamburger buns. I was pretty happy with them. I laid out two, piled on my sandwich stuff and put it under the broiler for a few minutes. Today I am going to have a burger with cheese on top of one, frying it up for a minute to crisp it up before putting the buger overtop. I need to make up a batch if vinaigrette today too for salad.

Found out that Ava's dad is staying with his parents this week and then home on Friday to go to work. He's a mess, understandably, and is happy we will take Ava Fri-Sun afternoon. I don't know the particulars but his brother who passed was probably under 35, way too young to go.

Chris - hope today is a better day. Yes, getting your eyes checked is a good idea, you never know what could be going on and it's better to have things checked out. I get floaters in my eyes (like little silver specs that drift downwards in my vision) periodically. It's not anything to worry about and I don't see them often so its no big deal. It freaked me out though the first time it happened (about 5 years ago). They have gotten better, not worse, but don't know why that is.

Nancy - sounds like you are having some delicious recipes. Glad you and your hubs are enjoying them.

Trudy - not surprised you're not hiking today. Lots of rain for us right now. Hope you get some LOs done. I would like to get one done today too but not sure b/c I have some headshots of Jen to edit, aside from working.

Weighed myself this morning and am down 26 lbs so the scale is being stubborn but I am losing inches. It's funny b/c I said I would know when to stop losing when my face looked gaunt and old (as can happen with aging skin when you lose weight) but turns out I don't care what I look like. I look older now with my saggy jowls and bonier looking face but I really don't care. I like how I feel, how I am moving and not aching and how I don't feel sluggish. I figure at (almost) 60 I am entitled to look whatever way I want LOL.

So, I'd better get to work and keep on top of things. Have a great day, everyone.

Chris-Rae- I have had floaters in my eye before. I go back to the opthamalogist every once in a while for a check.

Rae- the meal sounds pretty yummy. My daughter is into cauliflower and it drives me crazy- she won't fix it. She says she wants to make fried rice with it, but won't cook. I am not going to try to change fried rice...if I want fried rice, I will eat it!

I also agree on the weight loss- however you feel is important yes at almost 60 you deserve it. Amazing weight loss.

Nancy-the blue apron meal sounds yummy. My DD and DSiL are getting healthy meals through a local restaurant. They are portion and calorie controlled. He has lost 30 lbs but is a big guy.

Trudy- too bad you couldn't hike.

OK Contractors are still here (its a big job) and they partioned off the house, so I had to turn off the AC yesterday morning. It was a miserable night, waking up often and finally got up at 0500 because I was too hot to sleep. I was hoping our mild weather stayed, but it didn't and it was 86% humidity this am and 78 degrees. It got up to 84, so it is a toaster 82 in the house. Can't wait for the partioning to come off. I have a fan a foot away from my body and ceiling fan on high. Sweat pumps on high. cool weather coming our way, but not soon enough! I am looking for light fixtures to replace ancient ones (like a gross gold chanelier) Found one wall sconce I loved. It was $300. I decided if I am going to repaint, install wood stairs and finally update the wallpaper border, I may as well go for it! Still need to order the fixtures, but in time. Whew...my book!
