I am very happy that I was able to get out and see the sunshine yesterday since the 10-day forecast has 1, maybe 2 sunny days ahead. *shakes fist at the sky* Why??

How is everyone doing mentally? Should I still do the breathing/stretching every day? If it is helping, I am more than happy to do it. But if everyone is feeling fine and there isn't a need, I am good with that too.

I had a good day yesterday, it made me happy to be outside. The patio is looking much better. BTW, my "patio" is just a small slab of concrete with hedges on two sides and a rhododendron in the front. Nothing exciting and not really big enough to have family visit and be able to stay 6' away. But I keep a few plants and herbs in pots and maybe I will be able to sit and read out there.
We have a robin and her nest in the rhodo. I was surprised that she wasn't yelling at me while I was out there.
My ILs came up with some food. They belong to a restaurant food supply club and picked up some chicken, spinach, produce, and split it up among the three families. I used the broccoli rabe for dinner last night. Good to eat something healthy!

I am off to pick up food from Walmart this afternoon and hope that they have the bag of frozen mozz sticks and tortilla chips I ordered for Carnival night. More unhealthy foods- but delish. My ILs also gave up their old Wii and games so we have even more games to play at our "carnival."

I have to catch up on laundry today and really need to keep working on Christopher's book. Plus I need to think of something to make for Gary's b-day on Sunday, a card for my nephew Dylan on the 5th, and a card for Christopher on the 7th.... oh yeah and Mother's Day on the 10th. Maybe it is a good thing that it is going to rain a lot, keep me inside!

I promised Cait I will help her study for her big Final on the 8th as much as I can. She is really stressed.. I told her that I was sure that her professor would grade leniently on the test- usually some multiple-choice, some short answer, and usually 1-2 essays. Caitlyn kicks major butt on the essays. This test is all multiple choice, unfortunately. How funny- most people would be happy to have multiple choice, but not my DD ;)

That is about it.
Gratitudes:
-food in my kitchen
-being outside
-laughing with my family at dinner- god only knows what the kids were blathering on about last night bu that Gary and I in stitches. So happy that they truly are best friends, not just siblings.

Trudy- were you able to walk before the rain came? I hope that you did *and* that you got to Facetime with everyone afterward. That is awesome that Heather took the kids for a drive-through. Bet they had a blast. This is how my faith in humanity gets restored-- people being creative and doing fun things together. I hope that you can scrap a page!!
Great news about the internet service! We need to think about something for our cell service. We pay $200/month (granted, it is for 4 phone lines). But bein gin the boonies, it is hard to get service in a lot of areas which is why we have kept Sprint for so long. There has to be something better at this point.
I am too far away from NYC to see the Blue Angels. I hope that it cheered people up and wasn't just a waste of money.
Oh, one of my azaleas is starting to bloom too!! I was digging out a liriope that gets buried by other plants and when I moved my head a bit to get to the far side of its roots, I noticed how pink the buds were getting on it. It usually blooms around Mother's Day.

Nancy- I am sorry that you are canceling your trips too. You have such good kids- how nice for your DS to go shopping and then treat you with the food. Does he not get along with his ILs?
haha! glad that my theme nights are inspiring you too :)
Were you able to see any of the BAs overhead? I live close to Stuart AF base in NY but I think I would have heard them if they were flying close by but no idea where they take off from.
Oh my, all good thoughts that your sister is ok. Glad that she was able to get tested and I am not sure if I hope that she has a mild case and gets antibodies or not. Neither option seems good. Please tell her that we are all wishing her well!

Jean- Is what you wrote to Felis, Thank you? No matter what it says, your DH is so sweet! I will tell the kids what you said. I feel horrible for Scott. He was supposed to finish his (unpaid) internship this semester, then they were hiring him as a "real" job after he graduated. I didn't realize this but he told us yesterday that he still has to finish his internship hours before they can hire him. He doesn't know if they can or will waive the hours. He doesn't even know if they will be open this summer. His life is in total limbo. Cait has it easier since she was looking for a summer job while going back to school in Sept.
I wish you all could come for some carnival time with us too!

Felis- Enjoy the joy and happiness and lovely days every moment you can!!
How sweet that you were able to wake up to the song Trudy shared. Your entire day sounds fantastic, even the muddy paws.
Oh wow, that is right, your sister was supposed to be in Paris, and you were hoping she was going to get engaged. How hard it must be for her.
That is another thing I am sad about for Scott, he missed Leah terribly. He hasn't seen her in 6 weeks. They talk and text all the time, but it isn't the same.
Yikes, I am, putting myself in a bad-ish mood. I am off to the Gallery to look at pretty pages!

Hugs!!

kay-- hope you are ok!

I am here, Chris..Doing fine but was busy with CT stuff for INSD. That kept me hopping all yesterday. On Monday evening, we had the family video chat night. It was so good to see everyone and chat for almost 2 hours. DD#2 had set it up on Meeting but since I was on Chrome it would only show the person who was talking. So I switched over to IE at DD#2's suggestion and it would show up to 4 images at a time. The crazy thing was that my image switched from landscape mode to portrait mode so I was turned sideways!!! Never did figure out why. I even turned the Laptop sideways... and then I was upside-down!!! Everyone got a huge kick out of seeing me sideways or upside down. We are going to try a different platform for our next chat - one that will show everyone at the same time. It sure did raise my spirits to see everyone... including some of the spouses. Not quite as nice as being together in person but there was a lot of teasing going on as usual when we are all together. The only thing missing is that we usually have a couple of tables of Pinochle going when we get together. Going to have a weekly family chat night. Think I will download Firefox to the laptop just in case there is a problem with my image again.

Have had a couple of days in the mid-to-high 80's but the wind was blowing which made my allergies kick-up big time! Today is suppose to be cooler - only in the mid-70's then back up to 80's or 90's through the weekend. Guess it is time to switch the heat over to the air-conditioning. Usually don't get to 90 until mid-to-late May. I did go out and sit on the patio for about an hour each day before the winds got up...wonderful to see the bright blue skies with puffy white clouds and sunshine.

Trudy, I had to LOL over your description of Heather and the kids going through the drive-thur... bet there were quite a sight to see. Hope you get the photos and can make a page with it. Yeah, on getting a deal to save on internet/TV at a lower price. I really am happy with my service as it is the best around with the fastest internet. Don't have any choice unless I switch to satellite and then the winds/weather interfere with reception.

Nancy, so glad your son made the grocery run for you... even if he wouldn't take money for it. DD#1 will do the same for me if I need a few things. Sorry you had to cancel your trip plans but is wiser to get it done and wait until things settle down. Sorry to hear about your sister... if she has it, I hope it is just a mild case.

Jean, so glad you are "attending" some meeting via computer. It is good to have some interaction with others right now.

Felis, thanks for posting the link. Enjoyed it so much.

Chris, it is amazing how sunshine and blue skies can lift our spirits. Glad you got out to work around the patio.

Off to get a couple of loads of laundry done. Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning ladies... a cloudy misty morning, with rain for the next few days. It doesn't matter I will try to get out for a walk anyway. I have a great raincoat and it is nice and mild and I really need the excercise!! My weight is slowly climbing despite staying on my Keto way of life. :mmph: I really need to get back to swimming, but I bet that won't happen until after the fall. So perhaps I will look today for a good workout video or two. Had a nice long face time with Heather and the boys, we played "Guess Who" and read the Disney book "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" Mason was intently listening, but Hunter is a bit too young to sit and read a whole storybook LOL. They all seem to be doing well and Mason had already done his school assignment for the day, he was proudly showing it off to me  Today I have to get some things done behind the scenes for the month end and then I have a few more cards to get done, lots of birthdays coming up and I need to get them done because the mail is even more snail like these days. Not sure if I should try to get a card out to my MIL for Mother's day, perhaps we could just drop it off and have a distant visit?? We have some White wine to deliver to them also, so it would probably be good to just take a drive and go there.

Chris - I did get out for my walk yesterday, then I had a very quiet afternoon, so I ran out to Walmart and picked up a couple of things that I needed. Our Walmart was very quiet and there are arrows everywhere showing you where to go and only allowing entrance to the store through one set of doors at one end of the building and the exit at the other end. We have a huge Walmart, so it was a pretty good walk LOL. Still no known cases right here in our little city, but who knows how many of the homeless have it?? There are lots of tent cities going up all over the Island, so many choosing to live on the streets rather than stay in abusive relationships and households it really breaks my heart! I am Happy to hear that your azalea is budding!! They are my favourite of the spring time bushes!! Sure wish they lasted longer though! I hope you are able to get out and sit in your little patio area and read today! Good luck with your trip to Walmart, hope that they have everything that you needed!! You are a great Mom helping your daughter to study for her final exam! You know that she will ace it though right?? Yes keep doing the stretching!! It reminds all of us that we should be doing more of that these days!

Kay - How fun to have the family chat time together! Not sure how we would be able to do that with everyone , the kids would be running around all over the place and we wouldn't be able to hear each other think LOL. Hope that you don't go sideways or upside down on your next chat!! Yes, it would have been funny to see Heather and boys at the drive through, but I think they have seen many odd things going through these days LOL. I was just happy that they were able to get there!! Sounds like you have been very busy with CT work and I am glad that you are feeling well enough to do that!

Nancy - Hope that you got everything cancelled you were able to get your money back from the trip! The airlines must be getting panicky over all of these cancellations and I hope that they don't give you any trouble!! Sorry to hear that your sister has gotten sick, so good that she was able to get the test, but hope that she did not contract the virus. I have heard that some have gotten the virus more than once, so not sure if our bodies are able to build up an immunity to it?? :noidea: but then how much of what the media tells us should you believe?? Did you get to see the flyover yesterday?? Hope that the sun is shining for you again today!

Jean - How nice that your DH said Thank You so Much to felis in her native tongue!! Isn't google translate awesome!! Sorry to hear that your sunshine has faded  Yes it sure seems much better when the sun is out and we can open the windows to hear the lovely songs of the birds!

Felis - You are Welcome again for the songs, I listen to it every morning now and it sure perks me up! Michael Buble's Christmas album is my favourite too, such an amazing voice!! I truly hope that you get to have another wonderful day!! Even if you have to clean up muddy paws! Keep singing and dancing!!

Ok I need to get busy with things here and then get myself something to eat. Have a wonderful day everyone and stay safe!!

Gratitudes:
I get to read to my grands
I can get out for a walk even in the rain
I have everything that I need to keep busy at home

Good afternoon - so far we have walked Luther, eaten lunch and listened to Govs from NY and NJ. Things are going in the correct direction and so the Gov. of NJ has opened the state parks and counties can also open theirs starting this weekend. Yea! Only 50% capacity. Should be interesting to see how that works. As we were out walking Luther we came to a bridge over the river that connects two sides of the park but is really just a short cut from one side of the city to another and it was completely blocked and taped off. Luther was not happy LOL. Saw another dog walker come to the bridge and he too was shocked it was blocked. I will be interested to see if my county reopens parks. My sister got her test results back and she is negative we are all happy. She made me laugh as she said she is just an old lady with aches and pains. Yesterday was amazing with the sun and it was great to walk Luther in the afternoon. It was warm and I loved it. Our weekend looks good.

Chris I like your exercises. Hope the Walmart pick up goes well. Love mozzarella cheese sticks and chips. Sound so fun. That is so sad that Scott and Leah have been apart so long. So glad there are texts and FaceTime. Cait will do well and Chris you must be learning a lot be helping! Love the sun! We heard jets but did not see them. My neighbors kids were up in the tree trying to see something. It was so cute! Would like to have seen them.

Kay how fun to have your video chat - that is too bad you ended up sideways. If this was the first chat it is not surprising that there were a few glitches. Next time will go much better! Your weather barring the allergies sound so nice. I want 80s.

Trudy hope you are having a good day and not too much rain.

Jean hope you are having fun online.

Felis hope all your fur babies keep you happy while you listen to music and enjoy the weather.

Grateful for walking!
Grateful no rain yet!

It's warmer, so the clouds don't seem so bad. Trees are getting more color as leaves begin to form. Last night I made salads for dinner as I've been missing them and remembered DH sometimes gets one for his meal. It was with chicken and pretty good. I think my head is still stuck in March as it is so hard to believe May is almost upon us.

Felis, DH will be happy that you enjoyed his thanks. My thanks also for sharing as he's a sweetie in need of his music things. Glad you had such a pleasant day, muddy paws and all. Wishing you many more. Thanks for looking at my LOs and the compliments. I feel so much better when I get out (even if just outside the door) and see something pretty that I can scrap. Give your sister a hug for us as we are so sorry she isn't where she meant to be.

Chris, yes, do keep up the stretches if it isn't a bother. I'm always surprised how not relaxed I am. We might not be able to join you at the carnival, but I wonder if there might ever be another Oscraps chat? Maybe Cait needs some of those relaxation stretches. I know she'll be stressed till the exams are over, but your helping her study is a plus. She's someone else who should get a hug from us. I don't think a hug is going to do it for Scott though. Just hope the work situation comes together. The thought of broccoli rabe is so nice!

Kay, glad you are doing OK even when upside down. Wonder what on earth was wrong with the computer/browser. Will the pollen end pretty soon? Hope it does for you.

Trudy, great that you'll get out to walk even if it rains. Living where you do that's probably a good thing. Thank you also for sharing music links. Love hearing about your time with the grands. I know you miss them IRL but this is still a wonderful connection for them. Hope you take the card and wine to MIL as I'm sure that would be a treat for them.

Grateful for warmer days
healthy food
and the orchid that now has 8 blooms (it did 4 then later another 4 and may not be done)
genealogy (that much can be done at home and makes connections too)

Nancy, I cross posted with you. Hope that bridge opens back up. DH is listening to OH gov. right now and I don't know if he has mentioned parks though Monday he outlined reopening steps for the next two weeks. We'll see.
