happy Wednesday, lOvely O-Fam!

I feel mentally pretty darn good ATM. I slept good. Unusual! I woke up a couple of times, but was able to get back to sleep. Very unusual. It was interesting to see the differences over the last few nights on my screen in the FitBit app.

I wish I physically felt a bit better, but I did something absolutely *ridiculous* yesterday at work. She had me cleaning her windows, but one of them was broken, and when I lifted it from the bottom, the top part dropped down. I climbed from the step stool to the sill (I know you all know where this is going!), tried to pop the top back into place. I lost my balance (Surprised? No?? ha!!), started to fall, grabbed onto the curtain rod and thanked all the gods that I didn't pull that down with me. I was able to get my balance back got off the sill, onto the stool, and then the floor.
I wasn't hurting right then and there, but I knew that the jolting around was going to be an issue later on. I hurt today-- Yikes, am i sore! Thank goodness for Aleve and heat packs!

wish me luck too, I have to bring the Little Monster (Jaida) to the vet and hopefully she won't pull my arms from the sockets. i will use her head halter, which will help but she does not like the vet. I was going to say, what dog does, but Harley didn't mind that until her last few years when every time she went, it was for biopsies and surgeries.

My heart just broke again with missing her, will it ever go away?

Besides the vet, I have to catch up on some laundry, the cats - Catzilla mostly- are shedding so much and the comfort or needs to be washed, so all the sheets will be stripped. That makes me so excited to climb into bed tonight, the best feeling, clean unwrinkled sheets!

I hope that all of you have a terrific day!!!

Oh, and I got good news from my client! She is done with her job for the summer in June so she is going to use that as her excise to let the other cleaning people go and I will take over. I knew that she would do that, but it was nice to hear it.

Today is International Guide Dog Day! This day celebrates the importance of guide dogs and how they help the blind and visually impaired live their daily lives. Guide dogs are carefully trained to avoid obstacles, access public transportation, cross roads safely, and other daily tasks to help their handlers’ specific needs.
Did you know that Guide Dogs of America trains 70% Labrador retrievers, 15% Golden Retrievers, and 15% German Shepherds for their guide dogs? Once the dogs complete their formal 2-year training, they are matched with a blind or visually impaired student based on size, lifestyle, energy level, and personalities of both the student and dog to form a happy relationship.
Today honors guide dogs, as well as the hard working people who dedicate their time to train and match guide dogs to their owners. Celebrate International Guide Dog Day by expressing your gratitude to these dedicated dogs!

I used to drive through Morristown NJ, when I was commuting to college, and there is a training center there. I would see them walking the dogs as I would drive through and I loved seeing that! I am sure that at some point, I got honked at if I missed a green light b/c I was paying more attention to the dogs.

Trace- good luck when you see you dr. We have a Frost Advisory for tonight too, it is too cold for the end of April!

Cindy- sending big hugs... I cannot imagine losing my mom and how much it would hurt.
That is great to know that GIMP is still around too!

Trudy- you have the painting bug!! Once you get started, you cannot stop :)
Isn't that the truth about inspiration coming strong in the Spring, when you end up being outside, not in? (That *was* English?? Did you understand??)

Hope that everyone is doing great!

Happy administrative professionals day! We're celebrating here at the office today, taking the admin. staff out for lunch and spoiling them a bit - after all, they put up with all the crap, most of the time! LOL I guess we all do administrative duties anyway, but there's a few in our office that do it more than anyone else.

Chris - a frost warning?! LOL We had 86 degrees yesterday ... and we'll be lucky to hit 65 today (and it's raining). Sheesh. I really wish Mother Nature would make up her mind. The rain is great ... but a 20-degree swing in the weather? Eh, not so much.

Can't believe it's almost May. How did THAT happen?! I just got myself registered for a national HR conference (it happens to be here, in DC, so an opportunity not to be missed), and thought to myself it's in June, it's ages away. Um, yeah, like 6-7 weeks. It's a 3 1/2 day conference with tons of workshops, training, keynote speakers ... and a concert for everyone to unwind at. Who's playing, you ask? Train!! OMG, it's going to be so much fun!

Morning ladies... off to my hike today and the weather is just ok. No sun yet, but its not raining either, temps are supposed to warm up during the day. So I guess I need to dress in layers again today. It should be a pretty hike, we are off to Crystal Falls just on the other side of Ladysmith about a 20 min drive for me. I will try to get some photos today.

Chris - What a difference a good sleep makes!! Isn't it wonderful! It makes you want to shout to the world "I finally slept GOOD"! Ok maybe that's a bit dramatic :drama: but it does feel great doesn't it! OMG you are so lucky that you never really hurt yourself, trying to fix the window!! Thank goodness the curtains did not come down with you :becky: Hope she gets her window fixed before you have to try to clean those again!! Hooray for getting your cleaning job back!!! Happy guide dog day to you too! I tried to get an assistance dog for Heather when she first came home, but she just would not go for it. I still think it would have been a good thing for her, but she is a die hard cat person and not really crazy about dogs. It was a shame, I really thought it would have helped her so much, oh well water under the bridge now. Hope you are not too sore today and that the Advil helps!!

Kat - Wow that conference sounds like it will be awesome! "Train" will be playing how great is that!!! I can't believe how crazy the temperature shifts are right now for you, hope that Mother Nature decides it should be warmer and stay that way for awhile!! Nice that you are treating the Admin to a bit of a break today!

 to everyone else today, I really need to pack my lunch and get ready to head out soon. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!

Good morning, ladies. Busy day for me with lots of work, walking the dogs later and getting my challenges finished and posted. I need to get everything done by mid day Friday b/c we've decided to go open up the trailer and will be spending the wkend. We'll pop into town Friday or Saturday to get our internet hooked up but you never know if there will be unforeseen problems, so if I disappear for a few days you'll know why. We don't use our Canadian phones there as the roaming charges are really pricey. That's why our first chore is to get the phone/internet hooked up so we can get online. Both hubs and I feel lost if we can't access the internet. What did we ever do before it existed? LOL. So, lots to do over the next few days to finish everything up before we head out. We are enjoying our shaw gateway pvr setup and am glad we bought a new little flatscreen for the kitchen. We sit in there every day for dinner now and watch Young & The Restless while we eat. We've been watching that show for 30 yrs. It's the only soap my hubs likes but I also watch General Hospital (usually during the day on my laptop).

Chris - so glad to hear you are feeling better and good news about the housecleaning job. Yay! Sorry to hear you are stiff and sore today but thankfully it wasn't worse.

Trudy - another scenic hike. Enjoy! Sounds like fun.

Kat - seeing Train will be awesome. I love Drops of Jupiter and Calling All Angels.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Good afternoon ladies! Wow, you ladies are all so busy you make me feel like I'm standing still. I've been busy planting my little veggie and herb gardens. Its my favorite time of year to see my tiny plants and seeds come up and surprise me with lots of goodness. I planted 4 different kinds of basil, 2 types of tomatoes, cilantro, cumin, 4 different kinds of peppers (mostly spicy), lemon thyme, dill, chives, hot & spicy oregano, more lemon balm and I forget what else. Its supposed to rain this evening. I hope it does since I didn't water this morning.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening and night's sleep (or day, to you ahead of me.)

Chris, so glad you didn't completely fall and get hurt. The sore muscles are a pain (pun intended) though. I've started adding peppermint essential oil to my homemade creams. It has really helped my back pains. Hopefully, you will feel better tomorrow. Doing happy dance for your better night of sleep. I'm a poor sleeper (usually less than 4 hrs/night) so I know when you get a good one its like a dose of good medicine! Wonderful news on the job too.

Kat, it sounds like a lot of fun coming your way with the conference. "Train," great way to celebrate as well. Happy Administrative Professionals Day! I decided to take me out to eat to celebrate, since I'm a A.D. to myself now. :) This was my healthy eating cheat day!

Trudy, envious of the hike but so glad you will enjoy the great outdoors. During my daily 3.5 mile walk, this morning, I was wishing I had gotten in the car and driven to the hills and had an adventure. I try not to go alone because it really is always an adventure with me...mostly getting lost. I need a guide for real.

Rae, it sounds like your weekend will be awesome. Yes WHAT did we do before the internet started consuming our time? haha
